    a pretzel and dip
    Sandra K.

Felt nauseous today so figured a pretzel would help. Never been here before and heard it's a local place so I stopped by. First of all the place is really big. I was surprised. Second all of the pretzel wrapped meats were really big. Like the ratio was insane so I didn't get any of those. Never thought I would say this but the meat was definitely too big for the wrap. I got two dry boys or whatever they're called and cheddar cheese dip, vanilla icing, and then an Arizona mustard. I'm an Auntie Anne's kind of girl in all of its buttery goodness but these were real deal pretzels and they were pretty tasty. I feel like a little butter wouldn't hurt to help grease these dry guys up on the way down but it all had good flavor. Will try an inappropriately ratiod meat dog next time.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Pretzel Boy's. I ordered two of their braut pretzels and two cheese braut pretzels (aka pretzel wrapped meats) along with half dozen of their softies with the jalapeno cheese dip. O.M.G. becky. The cheese dip was amazing with the pretzels. It was so good. The brauts were piping hot and the pretzel "bun" surrounding them were just amazing. Dip them in the cheese dip.... your world will be rocked. (Being that this is a family show, I can't go into anymore detail) Needless to say, I'm a big fan. I will definitely come back and visit the next time I'm in the area.

So happy that Pretzel Boy's opened another location! This location is different from the others (Sunset Hills and Manchester) because they have seating. Not a lot of seating, but they have several bar stools against the front wall. Perfect place to wait while your order is being prepared or perfect for the 5 minutes you need to wolf down your dog. They have their regular pretzels, a variety of pretzel dogs, and mini pretzels ready to go. If they are out of something, it is usually ready to go in about 5 minutes. My favorite thing to order is the mini-pups. These are just little wieners wrapped in pretzel dough, but they are excellent! Because they aren't a menu staple, they are made to order in about 8 minutes. You could call ahead your order when you walk out of your house, or plan on waiting once you arrive. They are always piping hot and go perfectly with some cheese. There are 3 types of cheese (American, Pepperjack, and Chedder). They also have frosting for dipping- perfect for the cinnamon sugar covered pretzels. The cheese reheats pretty easily at home the next day.

Pretzels and mustard together are pretty great. Pretzel Boy's has the second best pretzels in town. I think it's fair to call them the second best. We all love the local hero vs. the franchise that you buy, right? These are still an excellent afternoon snack with free mustard. Honey Mustard, spicy brown mustard, horseradish mustard, etc. I'll be back!

I have been meaning to stop in here since driving by it a few weeks ago. Did not disappoint. Lots of different options, such as brat pretzels, hot dog pretzel, sausage pretzel, or just pretzel bites. Very cheap for being a niche service such as pretzels! I was able to try their jalapeño cheese sauce, regular softie, hot dog pretzel, and mustard sauce. I enjoyed both pretzels. I liked the jalopeno cheese sauce better than the mustard sauce. But when dipping the hot dog/brat, the mustard sauce was the way to go!! I hope to be back and to try their vanilla icing.

My risotto was overcooked so the clams were rubbery-yuk. The shrimp looked overcooked but they actually tasted fine. The pork chop was good but not great per report. We did get bruschetta as an appetizer- again good but not great as there was too much balsamic glaze such that it was overly sweet. Jonathan was our server and I had the impression he was new to the job. He did fine but it was small things. A definite detractor was the location of our table- we were right next to the kitchen. If I backed my chair up I would have been in their pathway. Anyway they left the door to kitchen open and it was sooooo noisy. Yes I could have asked them to close door but the heat would have probably too much for them then.

We happened to be seated next to a table from someone I knew, so we didn't have to pretend not to stare at the food they ordered, lol. We just talked about all that we ordered. Their Piccadilly fish looked amazing as did the rib special. I ordered the chicken pot pie, I had been thinking about it, and craving carbs to boot and it didn't disappoint. Karen informed me that it had lima beans and corn, so I wasn't shocked by that. Came in a bowl draped with puff pastry. Pastry was flaky and lightly browned, the base was creamy with lots of chicken chunks, carrots, corn, and lima beans. I haven't had lima beans before and I liked them. I had ordered the soup of the day, Tuscan white bean that sounded great, but I thought it was just ok. Husband ordered the fried chicken with slaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken was HOT! I enjoyed the leg piece I snagged off his plate, the breading is thin and adhered well to the chicken, the slaw was creamy, I didn't try the potatoes. Great home-style food, nice atmosphere, efficient service. Try the pot pie!

The worst aspect is the ventilation which needs much work. We came out smelling so greasy and smokey. We seated ourselves and waited a minute for our waitress to assist us. She kept saying she was new, that it was like her second day or something and didn't quite know the menu. She also didn't know how to make a drink, with that being the case why are you allowed to make any cocktails. If you have a limited cocktail menu but an extensive bar selection you would think their cocktail specials were on point. Nooooo. The BF tried a margarita special and it was awful. I tried a special crafted cocktail that was cool that our waitress asked the guy bartending to specially make because she had no clue about what I was talking about. I hate going to a spot where I make drinks better than the bartenders on hand and that's your job. The BF ordered the the garlic burger and I ordered the Korean wings which NEVER came out because our waitress forgot to order them. So I shared food with the BF. The burger was extremely underwhelming, not seasoned at all. How do you specialize in burgers and mess that up. The best item we ate was the fries and the comedy show was good.
