I read a couple of the 1 star reviews and my experience has always been the complete opposite. My company started buying from Guttermans around 1989. My experience over the years is great. Their order accuracy is almost always correct, and when it has been off they promptly correct it. They have bailed me out many of times on my own mistakes by shipping or sending trucks with little to no notice. The salesman that I currently work with is Matt and he is great. Price quotes or order confirmations come back quickly. Not only do I find their customer service to be pleasant and quick, but their material quality is hands down the best. All my installers prefer it, and they offer a longer warranty than any other supplier I am aware of. Buying all American made products from them is a huge selling point for my business! read more

If i had (0) stars, I'll give it to GUTTERMAN SUPPLY! They are so RUDE, and doesn't bother to call or email back any quotes back and they think they are the only company who sells gutters! I'm so happy that sales guy "Doug" didn't call back, it would have been the biggest mistake ever!!! Poor Service!!! They lost out a BIG SALE!!! We have used Guttermans because of their selection and prices, however their customer service is horrid, They have messed up so many orders the price is not worth it any more. Being on hold for 20 or 30 minutes to place an order. They never return phone calls have waited on pricing for bigger jobs for almost a month. We have paid everything in cash and paid for our shipping to the coast. Recently they miss calculated a weight measurement on some coil and cost me a lot on the job they did replace the coil free, however then I received a letter from that they would not long sell anything to me on my cash account because they found out I used another vendor some of time. The letter stated I could check back with them in the spring. So let me get this right, then mess my order up they have to give me little free coil and now I have to go to time out for six month, and the only excuse is I used another vendor and I returned a few mistakes they made over the years... sound like bad customer service to me. I am the largest gutter company on the coast and do lots of Federal and State jobs all over the state. The northwest has lots of gutter suppliers, you would think customer service would be key and refusing to sell to a cash customer.. unheard of. read more

I have not been going to Gutterman's for years. I went just once, and tried to order a flashing that drew water away from a wood beam exiting from the side of my house. It was a custom job. I drew the diagram, but spoke to a salesperson for less than 3 minutes. He asked no questions about the design. 3 weeks was the wait time. In four weeks I called to see how the project was coming. They hadn't started. They then asked about the gauge of steel to be used. I had ordered aluminum; apparently that detail was missing from their order specs. They made it that day. On picking up the product, the flashing was not a single piece, but was put together so that water would drain into the space of my wood beam, not away from it. I asked for a total refund, because their product would worsen the lifetime of the beam, not protect it. Their response: this was MY fault for not explaining that flashing was to drain water AWAY from the house and beam. THIS IS THEIR BUSINESS! Customer service was hurried and did not lead to a satisfactory product. There was no standing behind their product. read more

Last company on the planet that I'd use. Management is RUDE and doesn't bother to call people back. When finally pinned down and spoke with a "supervisor" named Lynne, they told me there was nothing they could do. Basically sold metal I can't use - I've ordered with them since 2010 and someone made a mistake. You really KNOW the quality of a company when there's an issue. There were hundreds of solutions that could have been offered to work out to both of our advantages - not even a basic attempt to be customer friendly. These folks have it all with regard to gutter supplies for contractors. They will work with homeowners too however. They are fantastic for me - put my order together, have it ready on time, I can pull up and it goes right in the truck quickly. Note to homeowners, knowing the right product and product name is mostly up to you as there are so many systems and parts. That said they will take time to work with you at the counter. But, the contractors will take a bit a precedence over you as they have called in their orders or know just exactly what they need. So, they are perfect for contractors and a bit confusing for homeowners generally. I love these guys. If you know what you need and they are small items, of course they will ship for you. I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I often read them to help me get the lie of the land with the business I may be dealing with. Gutterman Supply was recommended so I did my due diligence, re: reputation via Yelp and location. The reviews weren't all encouraging but I suspected they would be able to at least give me info. After parking, I walked in the wrong door and the lady at the desk courteously directed me with a smile to Will Call. At Will Call, everybody was busy on the phone or darting this way or that but we got help within 1 minute. Edward greeted us and asked how he could help. I showed him the part I needed and he said, " How many do you need?" I told him and within a minute he was back with two types for me to choose from. Thank you. read more

I have gone to Gutterman's and tired to do business with them, but I have to say that they are SO RUDE & the Customer Service is EXTREMELY POOR. Yes they are the largest provider of gutter supply's in the Portland area, but they just could care less about their customers or being of assitance! I have tried several times to go and order product, but they try and screw you on price charging outrageous pricing on coil, all because I don't use them regularly. Why would you want to go to a vendor when they treat you like you are dirt and then they want to screw you on the price of their product too! They might be the biggest, but the bigger the head, the bigger the fall! My advice is, DON'T USE GUTTERMAN'S when you can go to CUSTOM BILL MATERIALS and get BETTER PRODUCT AT BETTER PRICES and STELLAR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

I am done with guttermans. Placed several orders and only received 1/2 my order. When I called the salesman and he told me the parts are not in stock and they don't know when they will get them. They let me order and said they would be on the next truck. Liars they knew they didn't have them when I ordered. His only reply was sorry not his fault someone else took the order. Given that I took off work a half day, drove and paid to park downtown so I could go to Gutterman's while they are open, I am especially unhappy about my treatment there. I bought 7" long screws and flashing, got on the phone and realized the screws weren't going to work. I never left their business, and 2 minutes later they would not do a return for the screws, which are not custom and took 2 seconds to grab. Not cheap screws either. They said it was company policy. They sign says no returns on custom flashings. This is a screw. I asked if I could exchange them for the next couple items that I wanted to buy. No. Ok, so then I picked out gutter clips, after Tyler confirmed the wrong ones, I reconfirmed the kind I wanted. He grabbed some from the back. I looked through the bag since once I purchase them, I'm out of luck. I said these don't look like the ones again. He cut me off and said, "but THEY ARE." So after driving home, I checked, and they are of course not the right clips. I called, and he realized his mistake and felt bad for it, but said he couldn't refund the money if I didn't bring them back. It's not worth my time or gas to drive an hour to return them, nor can I afford to take off work to get the right ones. I asked to talk to the manager, got put on hold for 5 minutes before being transferred back to his own voicemail, so I called back....he finally agreed to refund me for the clips only. What a waste of a day off, and I still have the wrong clips. Will not be returning. Ever. read more
