In an effort to source a product, I called ABC Supply and spoke with Miguel, who seemed eager to help. They don't stock what I was looking for so he asked me to e-mail a picture of the product label and said he'd forward it to the vendor rep and get back to me. I sent pictures, waited, and got no reply.
Six business days later, I called to follow up and Miguel apologized for forgetting about the request. He then dug and found my e-mail, told me they have inventory going on and he was very busy. He said they'd be closed for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend and I should call him back on the following Monday. At this point I was still holding some hope of getting a helpful reply, but also realized I was chasing a response rather than actual customer service taking place.
I called back after five non-weekend, non-Thanksgiving, BUSINESS days to see if Miguel had made any movement toward helping me. Instead, he muttered casually about being busy counting inventory and a bunch of other things, said he's going on vacation for a couple days and started to ask if I could call back on the following Tuesday. I told him it's understandable that he has a lot going on - we all do - and that he sounded like he was giving excuses. I then asked whether there was anyone who could follow-up while he's gone, in light of the fact I'm trying to get a project going, and he replied that he'd pass the request to Martin and I could expect a call the next day.
Here it is over a month later. No reply. No help. Still counting the widgets? ABC = Always Be Counting?
