    Amazing
    Giselle B.

I am beyond amazed. I'm originally from Buffalo and never had a vegan option THIS damn good. I've been in Los Angeles now for 5 years and I'm visiting Buffalo currently to be with my mom during her health treatments and she suggested we eat here as she orders from here frequently. And let me tell you, I'm so glad she took me here!! This place blows so many vegan restaurants in LA out of the water!! I've been vegan for 10 years (was vegetarian prior) and I've never had such a great vegan restaurant experience. This food matched the way my vegan dad used to cook. It was a fresh cooked home meal. It came from the HEART and was FRESH and made with LOVE. It's so GOOD. When they give you a side of beans it isn't just BEANS, it's beans with a hint of cinnamon, onions, seasoning and even peppers and let me tell you, it was life changing. The mac & cheese was melty, chewy and delicious!! The steak is pea based and SO GOOD. The vegetables were so fresh and tasted amazing and the CORN... the corn was seasoned and fresh. I cannot get over how good the entire meal was. PLUS I got to have dessert!!! As a vegan with many allergies, it's really hard for me to go out to eat. But they were so kind answering all my questions and they make food free of soy and most of my allergens... even the dessert!!! Do you know how many vegan places make every damn dessert with soy or coconut?! SO MANY. This place doesn't. The apple crack roll was LIFE CHANGING. I'm not even kidding. This was all so good. I've never left a restaurant feeling as satisfied and happy as I left here. And the lady at the front, her name is Angel was literally an angel and so kind! The owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows. Thank you so much! I can't thank you enough.

Potato lovers rejoice! This is your heavenly resting place. They're just amazing. Sure, the rest of the food is great, too, but the potatoes? Yummy.

Guud & Evul Vegan Eats!! Once I heard about it I couldn't wait to try it. Finally today was the day. My Sister in law is always open to eat vegetarian or vegan with me so we went for lunch. The restaurant is spotless, windows filled with plants and very casual with embroidered quotes framed on the walls. First the service was friendly ,cheerful and happy to share helpful ideas. The food is delivered to your table in eco friendly paper containers when it's ready. And there are bottle recycling containers in the corners. She ordered the Smack Burger and fries. A vegan burger with vegan American cheese, lettuce, pickle, onion and smack sauce. I ordered the make it yourself burger. Lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and the vegan version or mornay sauce. Along with the loaded fries. Included mornay sauce, chili sauce, vegan sour cream , scallions and jalapeños. And today there were peach crack rolls. Deep fried crispy crust with peachy creamy filling. Everything was really very good. It's hard to explain how relaxing and fun it is for a vegetarian and or vegan to find Guud & Evul! You can order anything without worrying if there is chicken broth hidden in the food or anchovies hidden in the salad dressing. You don't need to be vegetarian or vegan to eat there because you will be surprised at how delicious your food is and how unlikely it will be for you to tell the difference. Definitely go and taste something made by wonderful Chefs and served by excellent staff. I had enough left for another whole meal!!

This vegan joint just had their soft opening. They have a limited menu of everything they've been serving on their food truck, plus daily specials like stuffed pepper salad and falafel. Everything was delicious! We wanted to try everything so we got the evul plate, chikn fingers, and crack rolls. The first item is like a garbage plate - a hot dog, a hamburger, fries, rice and beans, and smothered with chili and sauces. It was nice a sloppy, plenty of toppings. The chikn fingers exceeded my expectation for a portobello based food. The batter was crispy and yum plus the honey mustard was awesome. The crack rolls are fresh baked apple pie wrapped in a wontons and drizzled with icing. The filling is so good, as good as homemade apple pie and then wrapped up and fried like an old school McDonalds pie you can only get in Europe - but with way better filling. They make their own sauces in house including mornay and bearnaise. Everything was fresh and delicious and seems scratch made. Not sure what the burger and hot dog are but I've had dozens of brands and they didn't seem familiar to me yet had the quality of a commercial brand. Come support this amazing vegan black-owned business!

Anniversary weekend eats--first stop?? ... FINALLY at Guud and Evul!! :-D

WOW. :-O Just WOW!! :-O I am nearly SPEECHLESS at HOW UTTERLY AMAZING Guud & Evul was!! But what good would a speechless review do anyone here at Yelp??--so let me tell you ALL ABOUT HOW GUUD IT WAS!! :-D I am a vegetarian, and my brother got me a Guud & Evul gift certificate for my last birthday in June. Life is crazy busy with a demanding job and two teens, but I FINALLY made it in with my husband as part of our anniversary stay'cation weekend in January ... AND OH BOY, AM I GLAD I DID!! And I'm so happy I got to experience Guud & Evul with my sweet hubbs of fourteen years, too--two of my favorite things together, Guud food and my Guud guy!! :-D But I digress, back to the food ... Guud & Evul has an all-vegan menu that goes well above and beyond being just good. It is decadent indulgence grilled and fried junk food all-turned-vegan in really inventive ways. The menu has a variety of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and other options that have all been creatively vegan'ized in beyond-guud ways to delight both vegans and non-vegans alike!! My husband had the Guud & Evul Plate, which is their version of a garbage plate. As a born-and-raised Rochester boy, he was IMPRESSED!! It was a big portion of fries and rice topped with a vegan burger, vegan hot dog, vegan meat sauce, and vegan ranch. He also had a side of homemade Hell Sauce to try, which was HOT but very flavorful. He really enjoyed his dish! As for me, I went with a double order of This Ain't Chicken Strips so I could share with the hubbs. They were battered deep-fried chicken'esque strips made out of meaty mushrooms. I opted for half medium, half loganberry, and they came with fries and a generous portion of vegan blue cheese. The verdict?? ... HOLY COW, WOW!! (But no cow here, haha!!) These strips were CRAZY GUUD. The mushrooms were thick and meaty, and seemed pre-treated in some way to give them a smoky, meaty flavor that complemented the crispy batter and each delicious sauce so nicely. The blue cheese was really delicious, too! And a double order was a BIG portion, definitely more than enough to share! I was not leaving there without eating it all, such a noteworthy scrumptious vegan meal indeed! We were TOTALLY STUFFED AND BEYOND SATISFIED, but still on a special occasion getaway, so of course we had to force-feed ourselves some dessert while here, ha!! We ordered two Crack Rolls, once peach and one apple, which are like sweet egg rolls stuffed with pie filling and drizzled with homemade vegan icing. I thought we'd go half'sies and cut each in half to share, but when we opened the boxes, each portion contained two rolls, very generous! They were delicious deep-friend hand-held pies drizzled in creamy sweet icing that more than satisfied our sweet teeth. The Guud & Evul restaurant space itself is small, but clean, bright, and comfortable. Ordering is counter ordering, and you grab your food from the counter when it is ready, which didn't take long. Cash and all major cards are accepted. There are maybe six or eight tables for dine-in, mostly two-tops, with big front windows that make the space light and inviting. The kind young woman who took our order was far from Evul, she was very friendly and patient with all of our questions and indecision, haha. She actually recommended the loganberry sauce for my strips when I was unsure on all of the options, which was a great recommendation! It is definitely service with a guud and friendly smile here! If I could give Guud & Evul twenty stars, I would!! :-O It is definitely rich, indulgent, and decadent, so not someplace I can frequent as often as I may like, as carbs and sugar are no longer my friend is my progressing years, haha. But for any special occasion where splurging is involved, Guud & Evul will be towards the top of my list!! If you are vegan, vegetarian, omni, carnivore, any and all of the above will appreciate the delightful and delicious dining coming out of the Guud & Evul kitchen, where everything is definitely better than GUUD!! :-D

I love this place because they're very innovative with their foods and it's 100% vegan and delicious. My husband and I have been here several times since moving late last month and were very impressed. Coming from SoCal with many vegan options this restaurant is up there if not surpassing our expectations. I can taste the love that's put into the food. The interior is nice and clean including the restroom, and the decor is pretty basic but feels like what it is, a small business. It feels very welcoming. The exterior is also good because it's on a quiet road, I don't feel like I'm in danger when I try and walk to my car like I am in down town Buffalo (which I went to last night for the first time and a guy walked in threatening to shoot everyone in there) so coming back to Guud & Evul makes me feel much more at ease . There's also some nice river trails near by to take a walk to ease my digestion after eating. The portions are very big and my husband and I always go home with a box because we also just want to try everything and end up ordering multiple plates but guud lord, it's so tasty! This visit was fantastic as always; the bbq plate is amazing, the dinner roll was cut in half and tastes like garlic bread, the coleslaw is exactly as I'd expect and very flavorful, the ribs are out of this world with the char on them The crack rolls are like portable pie, perfect way to wrap up after your meal. I didn't have the comfy burger but my husband demolished it so it must've been good. Poutine fries were very tasty, I'm kinda surprised by how they can get the cheese curds to taste real, it's as good as poutine gets (which is very), and I had to get the evul plate this time cause my husband got it the first time we went and I couldn't keep my fork out of his plate, it's soooo good. That garlic sauce that's in there really stands out and is so delicious. I caught myself saying "mmmm" so many times the meat is so good too. It's refreshing to have home-made meat that isn't just impossible or beyond. I wish I could give this place 10 stars!

So I've been seeing this place on yelp and said I'd try one day because it had such great reviews. Well I tried it and trust me, the reviews arent lying. I got the " this aint chicken" which is made out of mushrooms and it came with fries. I think it was about $13 or so. I got buffalo style-medium and they were breaded and seasoned to perfection. The dipping sauce was also good. I was so surprised mushrooms could have so much flavor! I'm so glad we got a local vegan place that is actually really good and I can't wait to get it again. The flavor was so on point. I called to order and it was ready when I arrived. It's on a little strip that has restaurants and shops in Tonawanda. There was seating inside and a couple of tables outside. I loved that they had the floss pics you could grab when getting napkins and condiments. Its definitely vibes here. Don't hesitate to try this place!

First off, let me state clearly that I am an omnivore... or at least I think I'm an omnivore... heck, I'm not even sure what I think anymore... That's how absolutely amazing my meal here was! I personally cook vegetarian at home, as I'm very squeamish around uncooked meat. I also have a few friends that are vegetarian, so I eat meals without meat fairly often. But nothing before what I had here today left me questioning my willingness to eat meat as this. I ordered one of their current specials, the "chicken" rice and dumplings, and it far and away was the best version of this meal that I've ever had! I'm not exactly sure what was in the broth, but it knocks the socks off any chicken broth base I've ever tasted... the rice, dumplings, and chicken were divine, and the plentiful amount of vegetables were fresh and crisp... even toward the end of the dish they still did not get soggy! I don't recall exactly what the sauces were that were on top, but those tasted superb as well. Initially I thought the price for the food may have been on the higher side, but I came in to this meal SUPER (or maybe souper? Both?) hungry, and I was barely able to eat it all... I could very easily see this being plenty to eat for two, or normally would have had me going home with leftovers. Darn good bang for the buck! I'm looking forward to coming again soon to try some of their regular menu items (I'm thinking the Evul Plate first, which is their take on the gabage plate) as well as keeping track of what their rotating specials are, and see if anything tickles my fancy. I could not recommend any higher, and I encourage anyone... everyone... to come and dine here. For fellow omnivores likes myself, this is an amazing place to take a "break from steak".

My only regret is not having 5 stomachs so I could have tried the entire menu. The nachos were great - and very big - and the Evul steak hoagie was so good that I ate it and almost ordered another.

Mongolian Sweet Potato Fries - SO, SO GOOD
    Katie B.

Wow - we will be back for sure. There are so many menu items and they all looked/sounded delicious! I opted for the loaded nachos (added guac for a lil extra $) and the Mongolian sweet potato fries which were both excellent. I almost got the poutine but the lovely lady that took our order recommended the sweet potato fries and they did NOT disappoint. Whatever the wasabi mayo flavored sauce was, I have dreams about. I didn't catch her name, but the service was excellent and she was so kind and welcoming and really helped describe the menu items when we had questions. My sister opted for the This Ain't Chicken Strips and got a side of honey mustard dipping sauce. They were honestly so good and I personally loved that they were made out of portobello mushrooms because they weren't "trying" to be meat. The batter the chef uses on the "chicken strips" was delicious, seasoned to perfection and reminded me of the batter on country fried steak. I will say I saw several people pick up their food for takeout orders and loved seeing the restaurant busy because that's a key indicator of great food. You definitely can eat in, that's what we did and several other tables had patrons too. It's not fancy in there, which is totally fine because we were just looking for a quick and delicious lunch spot! The food is so worth it, so I highly recommend stopping in and trying one of their many delicious vegan items.

The service was very good and it's a cute spot that I'd be willing to come back to. The best thing we had BY FAR were the beef croquettes. These were perfect, and I could have made a meal out of them. They had a tender birria like shredded meat inside with some cheese and probably some potato, I can't even remember but I do remember that everyone loved these. We also ordered asparagus, the Korean Fried Chicken, the shrimp with potatoes (all small plates) and one of my friends ordered the duck entree. My husband and friends had cocktails and mocktails; I didn't order one because they said they had nothing that was sweet. Incidental pet peeve: Saying "all our cocktails are balanced". I get it, you want to brag. But, some of us like things that are sweet, or as in the case of one of my friends, decidedly NOT sweet. If all of your cocktails are balanced the same way, it gives little useful info on what to order. I will respond to this by NOT ordering and sticking to tap water. I'd prefer it if you have a little something sweet and a little something not-sweet on the menu for those of us who don't actually want "perfectly balanced". That said, I did have a sip of the cocktails the others ordered. To my surprise, I liked the Broken Garden Tools. Though it wasn't particularly sweet it was also not super sour/tart and it was refreshing. I *could* have ordered that one, but I never would have known it from the description. I didn't like any of the others I tasted, but I can't remember what those were. Since I don't like whisky and I prefer sweet drinks, don't take this to mean that they don't have good drinks - the others enjoyed theirs, they just weren't to MY taste. Of the other dishes, I liked the cabbage that was on my friend's duck plate (I didn't try the duck). The asparagus was fine. The shrimp and potatoes was ok but not as good as I'd hoped for. And honestly, I didn't love the KFC. It didn't seem to be twice-fried and super crispy like KFC should be, and the sauce to me wasn't balanced between the sweet and spicy flavors I prefer. However, my husband liked it very well. The only other thing I'd caution is to double check ingredients. There was a dish ordered (I can't remember which now, some kind of bread maybe, but not listed as a bruschetta) that said it contained rosemary among other things but did not list basil. We saw no rosemary at all, but a lot of basil, which I can't eat. So I didn't have any. The others shared it. I would have been more disappointed had it been my selection. My friend noted that the server did not ask us about any food allergies, which, if your menu doesn't accurately list its contents, is problematic. Fortunately I know what basil looks like so no harm done. All in all, I would return, get lots of croquettes, order a Broken Garden Tools, and maybe try some other things we didn't get to. But I'd double check all the ingredients.

I also don't know what the sauce was they made to go with it but it added the perfect compliment. My brother's lamb was TENDER, cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I'll be back for that too when they add a couple more chops to the plate. It was delicious, but the lamb chops were tiny and there were only four. THE DESSERT::: soooo good... definitely appreciated the HOMEMADE taste of the chocolate tart. Three people shared it and with the first bite I could tell that was a mistake. Next time I'll get my own for sure. Pro's- Quality food, great service, decent pricing Con's- Size of Lamb and Hibiscus Spritzer was definitely missing something.
