We had such an amazing experience here! We went on a Sunday and the parking lot looked completely packed -- we almost second-guessed going in. I'm so glad we didn't! There were still tables available inside, so don't let a full parking lot scare you away. Do not skip the fried green tomato appetizer- to die for! I ordered the Sunday prime rib special with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, and it was absolutely to die for. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and such a great portion. My husband had the chicken risotto and loved every bite. We heard regulars talking about how amazing the desserts are. We were too full this time but next time I'm excited to try the bread pudding! The bartender/manager was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. The whole place has such a cozy, welcoming vibe. We enjoyed every part of our meal and can't wait to come back!

Very chewy prime rib with no flavor, raw asparagus and a lukeworn potato.

We went to the restaurant for an early dinner today. It's a very nice clean restaurant. We sat outside on the patio and It was a very nice evening. I don't know how the other people in the reviews got such a good prime rib. I ordered it because it was the special. It was pretty tough and didn't have any flavor. It came with a lukewarm baked potato and raw asparagus. I never heard of serving raw asparagus with a dinner. I actually liked them because they weren't stringy, they were crispy. The dinner was $32, which is a fine price, But a little salad ans some bread would have been nice. My partner had a a grilled chicken sandwich with french fries. He said it was nothing special, not much flavor. The service was not great, we never ordered another drink because the waitress didn't come back until we were ready to leave. I think when you decide to eat on the patio, they forget to come outside and check on you. Iwill definitely give it another chance because I liked the restaurant.

Ambiance was cool, it definitely seems like a constantly busy place. I don't know the history of this restaurant, but it has a bunch of veteran decorations which is nice. Their food quality was amazing, absolutely delicious and full of flavor!! The only reason we gave it four stars was because our food took forever. They either accidentally forgot about us or lost the ticket? The manager noticed and tried to remedy the situation so that was good customer service on her part. Other tables got their food pretty quickly so it just seemed to be a fluke and I wouldn't hold that against them. Mistakes happen. Overall, would eat here again and recommend it!

Our first visit! We live two minutes away so we figured it was time to check it out. A friend just finished telling us about the steamed shrimp on the menu. They said they are great and you get a ton... so of course I wanted to try them. We did the half pound and got about 13 fairly large shrimp. We went for the "with seasoning" option. They were delicious! We will definitely get the full pound option next time! For dinner, Andy got the roast beef (his go to everywhere we go!) he said it was delicious. He'd definitely get it again. And he raved about the roll that definitely was a beautiful kimmelweck that looked to probably be made in house. He got cucumber salad as his side. Said it was good, but to me the cucumbers looked soggy and the liquid in the bowl was almost to the top. They were swimming. I got the Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was delicious. The picture does NOT do it justice. The cheese sauce was delicious as well. Both sandwiches were served with a pickle. Service was great!

Drove by this restaurant and decided one Friday night to give it a try. So glad we did...I got the steak gorgonzola salad which was delicious . I will definitely be back. The steak was so good. The salad had a lot of gorgonzola cheese, cherry tomatoes, salad and blue cheese dressing...yummy!!!

This was our first time here. The place is nicely decorated and clean. our server was pleasant and prompt. I chose the steak and cheese sandwich which came with fries, while my wife opted for the grilled sirloin steak and gorgonzola salad. My sandwich was very good, and the roll was fresh. I asked our server if the fries were fresh cut or frozen, and she said frozen. I have to say for frozen fries, they were very much like fresh cut. My wife raved about her salad, the steak was medium as requested. I think we will be back.

It was not busy and we didn't have to wait for a table which is a plus. I ordered smoked turkey, with salad and sweet potato fries and a pg13 which was ginger beer, mint and I added a shot of vodka. When our food came out I had to question what was going on with the sweet potato fries because they had a thick coating and looked beer battered, not at all indicated on the menu. I asked the server, Kelsey W., and she paused and said yea I don't know for sure but if you can't have gluten I wouldn't eat them. I was annoyed at the situation and just took them off my plate but I understand this can happen. The server seemed annoyed and goes on to blame me and says I should have told her. Now will say I did have to go through the salad ingredients and pick most of them out, she didn't ask me about allergies either. And it's not common to add a beer batter coating to sweet potato fries without indicating it in the menu. The menu should be updated asap for other guests. Any other server would apologize for the situation and ask how they can make it better and not blame for a customer for a misunderstanding. After that I realized there was an extra sauce on the tray, I asked her to check with the kitchen to see what was in it, is it safe for me to eat? She came back 15 minutes later and said she will check and have an answer soon. It was not busy, this was not acceptable. Again clearly not showing any help for your guest with a food issue. This showed me she had zero concern or care about this or trying to smooth it over. Finally, towards the end of the meal I realized my water was leaking, had thought it was condensation as it was hot out. My glass, water cup had a huge crack in it. You would have hoped that someone would have seen it before serving it to someone. Clearly a safety issue. I hope I didn't ingest glass. I handed it back to our server and told her this glass needed to be tossed in the trash. Her response was another blank look, she didn't really care and just gave me another shallow I'm sorry. The rest of my meal was tasty and it was a large portion. Everyone else at my table had nice looking food and was happy with it. I will personally not come back here. District 37- it wouldn't hurt to update your menu and add what is gluten safe and indicate what kind of coating is on your sweet potato fries because a lot of people who choose these have special dietary needs. You should also train your staff to help bring up allergy issues with your guests and have more empathy if an issue arises. If this is something a server isn't able to work on they might consider an alternate employment opportunity.

This review is being posted to alert other patrons about what they may be walking into at…read moreWebster's. If no one says anything, then other patrons may be left in the same disappointed state we were. It had been multiple years since we last dined at Webster's establishment (until our most recent visit). We are typically regular patrons at the Remington Tavern or Giancarlo's, however we wanted to change up the venue a bit on this occasion. My husband and I had some good friends visiting from out of state on holiday and we chose Webster's to treat them to what we were expecting would be a nice meal and a pleasant evening while they were in town. We ordered a few appetizers to start, which were sadly the best part of the entire meal. We then ordered 3 salads, each of which was a larger disappointment than the next. I think we were charged something around $16 or $17 for a "strawberry and beet salad". It arrived tableside with probably 5 lettuce leaves, 7 strawberry quarters, and some scattered pieces of cut up beets. Our guests who were in town from California even commented about how "measly the salad was in comparison to the nice robust salads that they were used to being served at restaurants in California". So embarrassed!!! I could have got under the table at this point. Let me just start out by saying I have never in my life seen a wedge salad served in the manner that we received at Webster's. The lettuce was grilled to the point that it was soggy - almost like blanched spinach!! Who fully cooks lettuce in a pan? Peculiar for sure! If you're striving to enhance the salad's presentation to achieve a unique aesthetic effect ....make sure the oil in your pan is extremely hot and only hold the romaine heart in the pan for a few seconds to give the lettuce a seared or charred appearance!!! Our salads were served with limp pickled red onion on top of them plopped on a square plate - plain. Nothing else. Dry. When we asked our waitress what was going on she expeditiously removed the salads from our table. Upon her return the salads were appearing as they should be and she commented that the chef "was new and he must have been overly eager to get our food out to us." When our main course came... it just got worse! The plates were ice cold, the vegetables and the potatoes on the plate were ice cold as well as if they had been sitting in the kitchen on some shelf in the corner for a half an hour before they were brought out to our table. The Salmon Wellington was warm, however the puff pastry that surrounded it was so incredibly thick underneath the salmon. I could've used a steak knife to cut through it! To add to the disappointment, the entire dish had zero flavor. No seasoning whatsoever it was completely bland. Dill? Shallots? Garlic? Salt? Pepper? It might've been nice had they diced & sautéed some shallots and mixed them in with the mushroom purée to give the dish enhanced flavor. Or they could've pan seared the salmon for a few seconds in some garlic infused oil - again to add flavor prior to wrapping and baking the puff pastry. One of our guests was so turned off by her salmon entrée she stopped eating her meal and politely asked to have it packaged up to go. She said it was just too much pastry and it was just not what she was expecting as it was too tough to cut through. She later that evening informed us she was taking her salmon dinner home to give to her family's dogs (whom our guests were staying with while in town). Our other guest ordered a simple burger, and from what they had shared.... it was okay. It's a burger, right? Kinda hard to mess that up. Overall, for the 4 of us to eat dinner at Webster's our total bill came to an approximately $350 (including tip). I definitely felt that the quality and presentation of the food was severely lacking. A "chef" is a position that someone should have demonstrated proficiency in before a fine dining establishment with meals at this price point allows them to cook at their restaurant for their patrons. This person should not be a line cook and should be an actual experienced and educated/trained chef! Overall, my husband and I were both disappointed with the quality of the food at Webster's and therefore we WILL NOT be returning in the future. For the number of times that my husband and I have dined at the Remington (as an example) as regular patrons every week practically --- we have NEVER...EVER received a bad meal with them! Never! They are always spot on!! On their "A" game. When you're spending $300 -$400 or more on a single meal (AND A EXPERIENCE) the owner of a restaurant cannot afford to have anything outside perfection leave the kitchen. Period. Negative PR is resounding!!

Our server checked my ID when I ordered a drink, which was perfectly fine, but didn't even acknowledge that it was my birthday. Not a huge issue, but it would have been a nice touch. Service was also inconsistent. My mom's Diet Pepsi was forgotten when our drinks were brought out, although the server did bring water for the table, which I appreciated. The appetizer was delicious and was honestly the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, my entrée was where things went downhill. I ordered the twin filets cooked medium, but both arrived very well done. I mentioned it to our server, who took them back for a remake. When the replacement came out, it was served on a piece of lettuce for presentation, but the steaks were still not cooked correctly. One was medium rare, which I was willing to accept at that point, but the other was once again well done. I brought it to the server's attention a second time, and I was told a manager would be stopping by our table. That never happened. Instead, the entrée was simply removed from the bill. While I appreciate not being charged for a meal that wasn't prepared correctly, I was disappointed that no one came to speak with me or offered an alternative entrée so I could actually have dinner. The impression I was left with was, "We'll take it off the bill and move on," rather than making an effort to fix the situation. It's unfortunate because the two guests dining with me thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Sadly, I ended up leaving hungry on my own birthday. That's not the experience I was hoping for, and it's why I can't recommend Dockside Bar & Grill based on this visit. To make matters worse, after sharing my experience in a comment on the restaurant's Facebook page, my comment was deleted and I was blocked from their business page. Rather than addressing customer concerns or attempting to resolve issues, they chose to silence feedback. In my opinion, that's not good business practice and only added to my disappointment with the overall experience. Constructive criticism should be an opportunity to improve, not something to hide from potential customers. EDIT TO ADD AFTER MANAGEMENT RESPONSE: If you truly wanted to take full ownership of the situation, then either you or a member of your management team would have come to my table last night to speak with me, as our server advised would happen. Simply removing an item from the bill does not constitute fully taking ownership of what you referred to as a "human mistake." As for being blocked from your Facebook page, that's fine. Based on both my experience at your restaurant and your response afterward, I have no intention of returning. What is particularly disappointing is that after I posted my initial comment about my experience, no one from management attempted to contact me privately. You could have easily sent a Facebook message to discuss what happened and address my concerns. Instead, my comment was deleted and I was blocked from your business page. Your handling of customer feedback demonstrates a lack of hospitality and professionalism. Had there been better communication when the issue occurred, I likely would not have felt compelled to leave a negative review in the first place. The problem was never just the food or the mistake itself--it was how the situation was handled afterward. I can now better understand why other reviewers have commented on management's reactions to criticism. Word-of-mouth remains one of the most powerful forms of advertising. Unfortunately, negative experiences and poor customer service tend to spread much faster than positive ones. Since you chose to remove my feedback, block me from your page, fail to follow up after I had already attempted to address the issue while still in your establishment, and suggest that simply taking an item off the bill was "taking ownership," I will be sharing my experience with others and recommending that they think twice before choosing your "on the water" dining experience. You asked why I wouldn't call you to discuss making things right. The answer is simple: you had the opportunity to do that last night. I was already there, willing to discuss the issue, and was told that management would speak with me. That conversation never happened.
