There were still tables available inside, so don't let a full parking lot scare you away. Do not skip the fried green tomato appetizer- to die for! I ordered the Sunday prime rib special with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, and it was absolutely to die for. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and such a great portion. My husband had the chicken risotto and loved every bite. We heard regulars talking about how amazing the desserts are. We were too full this time but next time I'm excited to try the bread pudding! Ambiance was cool, it definitely seems like a constantly busy place. I don't know the history of this restaurant, but it has a bunch of veteran decorations which is nice. Their food quality was amazing, absolutely delicious and full of flavor!! The only reason we gave it four stars was because our food took forever. They either accidentally forgot about us or lost the ticket? The manager noticed and tried to remedy the situation so that was good customer service on her part. Other tables got their food pretty quickly so it just seemed to be a fluke and I wouldn't hold that against them. Mistakes happen. Overall, would eat here again and recommend it! read more

I had a soup and half a sandwich. Who would have thought a roasted tomato soup & half a turkey with apple & Brie would be so memorable? Our first visit! We live two minutes away so we figured it was time to check it out. A friend just finished telling us about the steamed shrimp on the menu. They said they are great and you get a ton... so of course I wanted to try them. We did the half pound and got about 13 fairly large shrimp. We went for the "with seasoning" option. They were delicious! We will definitely get the full pound option next time! For dinner, Andy got the roast beef (his go to everywhere we go!) he said it was delicious. He'd definitely get it again. And he raved about the roll that definitely was a beautiful kimmelweck that looked to probably be made in house. He got cucumber salad as his side. Said it was good, but to me the cucumbers looked soggy and the liquid in the bowl was almost to the top. They were swimming. I got the Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was delicious. This was our first time here. The place is nicely decorated and clean. our server was pleasant and prompt. I chose the steak and cheese sandwich which came with fries, while my wife opted for the grilled sirloin steak and gorgonzola salad. My sandwich was very good, and the roll was fresh. I asked our server if the fries were fresh cut or frozen, and she said frozen. I have to say for frozen fries, they were very much like fresh cut. Open for lunch and dinner, menu has a nice variety. We both selected the home made IroNTon Burger, half pound patty on a brioche roll with bacon jam, garlic aioli, arugula, brie & fried shallots. Served with crispy fries, this meal was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. The owner visits his customers, checking that everything is alright, treating customers as if they were his family. The establishment is quite charming. Recently remodeled, it does have the original bar. Old time NT memorabilia can be found within. Plenty of parking, too. My husband and I went there on a Wednesday night, walked in, no one to greet us, bartender came out and asked if we were there for a party, no just dinner. We both ordered a bowl of soup, and share an order of fried green tomatoes. The soup was delicious but only warm, the tomatoes came out at almost the same time. We came in with a group of 11 to have an early dinner. We always call ahead due to the size of our group. The person taking our request was asked if separate checks were ok and she said yes. We are not talking single but rather couples checks. All was well until the waitress came to take our order and we were explained to that there are no separate checks. We had been in this restaurant not more than a month ago and were able to have checks for couples which we all are. Now we are not young people, all being in their 70's and 80's and we always tip well. We asked if they could make an exception for this time so as not to have to leave. She spoke with owner who then came out and asked who our contact had spoken to at the restaurant. The owner then wished us a very condescending " Have a nice day" and walked away. Reuben croquettes are my go to beer munchie. The folks who work here really make you feel at home and are very accommodating, the bar is also well attended with special cocktails and they are working on some wines.
