I would never buy flowers from this person. I have lived in the neighborhood for years and have seen him be rude and raise his voice at people with dogs but today was the first time I saw him go after someone. He went off yelling at and threatened a woman walking her dogs. She had walked past him and one or her dogs jumped over that little fencing you see around some of the trees, just as she is pulling her dog out, the flower guy starts yelling as her to stop letting her dogs go in there. She said I pulled him out and he was only in there for a second. He said he didn't care, to get her dogs out & go away. She said it was public property and he was a mean old man (she is right). He then rushes up to her and starts waving his blower around at her and blowing at her & her dogs. The starts yelling for her to go away, calling her a Karen and calling her racist -she said nothing racist..ageist maybe because she just kept saying he was a mean old man. He may have mental health issues because he even at one point said something about Trump. read more

Guy's flowers seem beautiful, but I live a block away and he briefly screamed at me and my dog as we walked past on a public sidewalk several feet away from him today, and then when I told him that he shouldn't yell at me, he said "whatever". I want to note that my dog was not peeing or pooping when this happened. He then proceeded to stare me down from the other side of the street for 10s of seconds as we walked past. It saddens me that I need to think about my safety from someone who regularly does business in my neighborhood and will likely avoid walking past him in the future. I used to buy flowers from this guy but he's been yelling at me every time I walk by with my dog. He clapped in my dogs face and scared her. (She's currently dying of cancer so it upsets me when she's stressed out). I explained that my dog was simply smelling on a public side walk. I understand that he has a business there and doesn't want dogs going to the bathroom but there is no need to yell at people walking by. Guy is the biggest dog-hating douche in San Francisco. He yells at dog owners, even when they are walking on the other side of the street. The first time I witnessed him do this while I was looking at his product. He then proceeded to talk really negatively to me about the dog owner as if I either knew the person or knew Guy well. It was awkward AF. I don't know what his hate for animals is, but it's just bad business to express such hate towards people that aren't even walking on the same side of the street- which is a public sidewalk. read more

Only 5 reviews! That is downright amazing. I'm actually aghast. That could be the first time I've ever used the term to describe my reaction. Thank God it has such a high rating or I'd be forced to throw in "and appalled" to boot. Sounds synonymous but they they aren't. Look it up and chew on that. The alliteration would have been worth it almost though...but since this is someone's livelihood I'm happy for the high rating. OK the skinny. This, er, "flower shop" is set in a renovated garage just off of Noe in the Duboce Triangel (also one of the most pleasant street around as far as I'm concerned (and part of my running rout!)). DO NOT let the low overhead fool you. The flowers are top notch. There is always a nice selection lined up outside as well as various little gifty things inside. You can find Guy usually outside enjoying our lovely NorCal weather. He chats it up or exchanges smiles to passersbyes whether or not they are there to look at the flowers. Once you decide that you need some flowers, and quite frankly I am astonished (another good "a" word!) in the lack of homes that do not have fresh flowers, Guy has 5 star personal service for you and is always willing to answer questions. The prices reflect the lack of overhead as in they are mighty reasonable. 5 reviews..that is amazing. Especially since the Gaurdian noted that Guy's is the best neighborhood flower shop. I found out about Guy's flowers when I was interning at Quest. He's a really nice guy and he does a lot of nice things for the neighborhood (i.e. waters the plants in that area, cleans the block, etc.) His flowers are really affordable and reasonable if you think about the price you would pay if you were to go to a flower shop or Safeway for that matter. He doesn't sell roses. What he has are different, colorful flowers (from Lillies, Hydrangeas, etc) and he sells them either as single or a bunch. Single flowers are $3 and the bunch are around $8.
