I received a bouquet of flowers from here as a gift from coworkers. The bouquet was SO beautiful!!!! I have no clue if this was a bouquet that was special order, if my coworkers had picked out the flowers specifically and they put it together on the spot, or if this was a pre-set grab and go one, but it was beautiful. It was a mixture of purple Dalia's, pink and orange blended roses, and pink carnations. Even the filler leaves were quite beautiful and looked nicely arranged with it. It unfortunately didn't come with any flower food, so it lasted about 6 days total, which was decent. The carnations did last a bit longer though! I can't speak for the customer service, or ordering, etc. but I loved my flowers so much! read more

Extremely disappointed with my latest experience. I've used SF florist for many many years. They have made substitutions many times, but it was usually reasonable, and kept the feel/intent of flowers, ie valentines day, birthday, etc. My latest experience has shown that they have lost their taste and common sense. I ordered a nice bouquet for my wife for our anniversary based on the advertised picture on their website. nice light, soft colors. Wife loves purple, etc. What I got was this weird halloween color scheme, (picture captioned "1st delivery"). I complained and asked them what happened, it looks nothing like the picture. you can't go from what's advertised to this mess. It was an anniversary bouquet, not some fall festival. Michelle responded, apologized, acknowledged it was a mistake and told me she'd make it right. She sent a delivery person to my wife's office building, and asked we return the halloween flowers, then in a second delivery, sent the 2nd delivery. I've now disrupted my wife's workday 3 times to pick up, return, and again to pickup new flowers. Who thought it was a good idea to put light brown roses with pink? how is this worth $300? (after tax/delivery). You won't see this color combination on any bouquets on their website, I don't know why they thought it would be ok. I complain yet again, and now they don't want to deal with me, so they say they'll send another delivery person, to yet again interrupt my wife's work day to pick up the flower, and they'll give me a refund. Leaving my life with a seriously disrupted work day + no flowers. I think you've screwed with my wife's work day enough today. Keep your money, i'll take it as an expensive lesson learned,. You have lost your taste, and your ability to make a situation right. read more

I was not pleased with one of the bouquets I received. I understand that floral design is an art not a science, but come on.... sent them inspiration pics prior as well. The bouquet was barely arranged. Just had roses in the back and hydrangeas in the front. I was pretty upset, knowing that my boyfriend paid a lot of money for something that was so carelessly arranged. I went back to the store and kindly expressed to them that it was not my preference for it to be arranged like this. The guy at the front was nice at first, but gaslit me into thinking that there was something wrong with my preference. I showed him the inspiration picture my boyfriend gave them and asked them to make it round and assort the flowers around so that it wasn't just roses in the back and hydrangeas in the front. The end bouquet was nice but I'm upset because I had to waste time to go back to explain to them something that should be common sense, especially when there's an inspiration picture. Also, the man at the front accommodated my request but was pretty dismissive. Still, I wouldn't mind receiving another bouquet from them again since I did receive another that is probably my favorite bouquet to date. Best Flower shop I have been in so far to date! (Feb 2023) The employees really are amazing and take a long time to explain how to take care of the flowers and the different types of flowers or gifts you may be looking forward to buying. Such a great shop I highly recommend it over the other flower shops I have been to and am on the hunt for an even better one but so far this is the most wonderfully beautiful flower shop ever! I've always found SF Florist to be the most convenient florsit in the SoMA with a large selection of flowers that come from around the world. Whether it's birthday's, sympathy, holidays, they have a wide variety of arrangements. They make fresh art with flowers and you definitely get your money's worth. A bit pricey, but I would rather pay for their flowers than some cheap ones at your local Safeway. The owner is friendly and is always open to answering all my questions. read more

For my purchase I selected your GORGEOUS Orchids - in the deepest shade of purple, along with two green pom-pom flowers to contrast the orchids. BEAUTIFUL!!! Nicole was the florist who helped put together the most beautiful, elegant flower arrangements I could imagine. The flowers were just stunning. She brought our vision to life. She made it seamless. I was so impressed with the flower quality & selection! Beautiful, rare and fresh flowers cost money so expect to pay. I bought 3dz designer flowers at $5-6 per flower and they included the greens (white & green at the bottom) for me for free. My total order w tax was just over $200. I thought that was very reasonable when I consider other line items for my party budget: balloons 115, catering 300, desserts 200 etc Flowers are a classy way to take your event to the next level and I would definitely recommend this place for top notch selection! read more

My husband has purchased me many bouquet from here that were beautiful. They were expensive ($120+ each) but always great quality which is why I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1. I ordered a boutonnière and corsage for my sisters prom. He informed me the boutonnière would be around $45 or $65 (can't remember what he said on the phone) but I was okay with that. I was expecting to spend $100-140 for both. I had my husband pick them up as I was helping her get ready and what he came back with for $108 was shocking. The corsage had 3 tiny roses and a little greenery and all the wires were very visible. She couldn't even wear it because the metal was scratching her. The boutonnière had 2 roses the size of my thumb nail. These were so poorly made and extremely overpriced. We won't be returning. read more

This is a high-end florist with superb quality material and they are very artistic (I am not, so I'll take all the help I can get). I usually speak with Cameron, who is very kind, helpful and professional. He makes very good suggestions and gives great advice if you ask him. When I stop by in person, I've found everyone there to be helpful and knowledgeable. What I usually do is call them and tell them the purpose of the order and the desired price (range), and they'll put together something fantastic and deliver it for me. If I'm in the neighborhood and just want to stop by, they also have arrangements in the shop that are like works of art. They make the whole process easy and pleasant and the deliverable is always beautiful. This is my place to go for flower arrangements and live arrangements in San Francisco. I find myself giving fewer 5-star reviews these days, but I feel this one is warranted. First of all, the San Francisco Florist is a lovely place to visit, whether you are shopping for plants and flowers or just having fun. They have amazing arrangements, a unique assortment of plants, and a variety of options (both large and small) that are ready to purchase. Further, they provide what I would call white-glove delivery service. I stopped by this store in passing a few times before today. I never bought anything. After having some key pieces of furniture delivered this week, I knew the size of the footprint where the plant would live and was ready to go in and pick something out. The woman who helped me (Nicole) was really nice and knowledgable. Out of the four or five plants I liked, we determined that the best fit was a 7-foot tall Song of India plant with a square base that measured 20"x20". This is relevant because if I had not measured to know that my footprint was 28"x28" with a ceiling height of 8.5 feet, it would have been quite difficult to make a decision. One feature Nicole shared that I really liked was the wick system that allows the plant to water itself for up to two months at a time. It was already installed and included in the price. Since I travel quite a bit, this impressed me. I already thought the price was fair. Apparently, they do this with all of their larger plants/installations. You just fill up the tank with a little nozzle that is hidden under the mossy base. Nicole was able to arrange for delivery the same day of my purchase. This impressed me, but I was expecting somebody who didn't speak English to drop the plant off. I was hopeful that they wouldn't damage anything on the way in/out. What a pleasant surprise when three men showed up to deliver the plant. Two to move it and one (Cameron, the owner?) to supervise, make sure everything was placed correctly, and show me the basics for maintenance. Wow!!! It gets better. When Cameron realized that we were placing the plant on wood floors, he asked if we would like to put some felt pads underneath. I agreed that would be a good idea. He didn't have them on him at the time, but he said to call him any time tomorrow and he will pop over within 5 minutes (I live close to the store) to install them for me. Now THAT is great service, if you ask me. I will certainly shop here again. I will also recommend this store to anybody looking for a good florist in the city. I look forward to doing more business with a place that cares this much about their customers and the experience that takes place after the sale is completed. read more

Is it possible to give less than 1-star? Customer service is horrendous to minorities. I referred other people to this florist before trying it & no one had anything nice to say. I went in with a few people 1-time & after waiting for 30-minutes and no one came over to assist us, I knew I would not make a purchase. I ordered the One Dozen Signature Rose Box to be delivered on Valentines Day. My wife and I were pretty dissatisfied with the quality of the roses that were delivered. I'm extremely disappointed with the flowers I received for Valentines Day from SF Florist. I work a block away from the florist and upon receiving them (3 mins walk), they already looked wilted. The $65 price tag was absurd for this tiny bouquet with 6 wilted roses, and there was no flower food bag included to make the flowers last longer. I immediately put them in a vase of water and sprayed them with misty water hoping rehydrate the flowers. Sadly three days later the flowers are dead and the roses are wilting downwards. Save your money and get flowers from a grocery store instead. You'll get better quality flowers, more flower stems, and they'll last longer. read more

My kids bought a large, expensive arrangement for my birthday. Within 10 days the flowers on the four orchid stalks had wilted, the two air plant flower stalks had dried up, probably to never bloom and the square glass vase was chipped in two places. The woman I talked with was glib and blamed the "quirks of nature" for the problems. They did re-make the arrangement but reused the chipped square glass vase and some of the succulent leaves had insect holes. Let's hope the orchid stalks last longer than 10 days. These folks are great. I ordered some flowers (to be delivered to Yelp HQ, which makes this review very meta, but I digress) and they accidentally delivered a different arrangement than I had ordered. The arrangement was beautiful, but not exactly what was expected. As soon as they realized what had happened, they called me and have scheduled another flower delivery. Kudos to SF Florist for their first class service. I'll be back next time I need flowers. read more
