Bummer, this place seems to be going under or something. They just wiped out all of the weekend classes except for one random one in the late afternoon but that's the only real option. They said it's because coaches keep leaving for some reason... no coaches... no classes... no income... no income and not enough money for rent. The writing is on the wall that it won't last much longer then. The sad thing is that we've been coming for YEARS and my kids really love it but with no notice, they handed them slips in the last weekend class saying there's no more classes in two weeks on. Like, what? All of that time invested, all of the relationships they have with the remaining coaches... and it's done? It wasn't even like they expected us, other the other parents, to stay. It was a weird vibe like, "If you want, there's one single class you can do on Saturday and one on Friday night." We actually tried for the Friday one but they said, "Sorry, that's booked." Oh, they dissolve our class then won't let us into another one? Seems like they need the money so they should "want" to figure something out. Let those paying kids in. They'd rather students leave. What honestly, frankly, pisses me off as a parent is that my oldest wanted to learn this one move forever and by her age, she wanted to know it for her cheerleading, a front round-off or something. She should have learned it here years ago, but never did... but this final class is when she FINALLY learned it... then, the rug was pulled out from under her with no warning; no more classes. It's rrrreally expensive to come here so there shouldn't be money issues but apparently there are. Where is the money going from tuition? To me, you have to pay these coaches what they're worth or they'll leave... then it collapses. You can't survive just on the competition team's money, those weekend classes, it's over a hundred per kid per month. Pay the coaches. Bring back classes. Figure it out. But, now it sucks that we have to find an entirely new place and there was zero concern about sadness from them about ending those classes... just a "whatever" feeling. read more

My girls have been in classes here for the last couple of years. The staff changes frequently so there is not a lot of consistency with the coaching relationship. The front desk often neglects to return calls and errors occur with billing. It is extremely expensive for what is provided. Also, there only seems to be an avenue for competition if one starts in the very early years. However, in the area there is little other choice. read more

This place is the real deal. It's clean, the equipment is modern and extremely well maintained and the facility is super clean. The staff and coaches are top notch. They are tough, but nurturing, which is a perfect combination in my book. Today we celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday and Coach Megan and Coach Melanie hit it out of the park. You know you are doing something right when 16 5 year old girls are kept busy, occupied and fully engaged for 2 hours. Also, all of my friends came up to me afterwards and told me how great this place is. My daughter and her friends told me that this was the best birthday party ever and couldn't wait to come to a class!! Job well done ladies! Thank you both so very much!! Love this place! My daughters (ages 4 and 5) have been taking gymnastics here for almost a year now and they love it as well. We live in the area and as a former gymnast myself, I really wanted to find a gym that had a clean facility, friendly/knowledgable staff, and made the experience fun for my daughters. Prior to joining GW, my daughters were enrolled in dance class and every once in a while they would complain about going, however since the switch to gymnastics and this gym, there hasn't been one instance where they weren't excited to go to class. They love their Coach Ashley! We also had their birthday here which was a great experience as well. Very disappointed. Was referred to Gymnastics World by a friend so we were excited. Our child is almost two so we signed up for the toddler class, what a joke. They should not run any kind of toddler program and from the looks of it they might not. 1- Coach Clouse came downstairs and introduced himself. "Hi I'm Clouse and will be teaching the class today. I'm not the regular coach because we don't have one but that's ok. Also, I'm feeling a little under the weather (cough) so bare with me. It looks like you guys are the only ones today". Ugh! That should have been my first hint to leave. 2- Going upstairs and Clouse insisted our kid hold the railing 3x. Well if she could reach it she would, instead she held my hand. 3- Immediately went into walking on the beams and wanting her not to hold hands. Remind you this is our first class and she's not even two. 4- Had her do handstands with no markers to show her where her hands go. Wanted her to pull up on the bars and swing without help. Demonstrated a jump pike sit for her to do on the trampoline. Wow really!?! I'm ok that they currently don't have a regular coach for this class but at least put someone in who knows this age, is fun and bubbly and doesn't expect stuff that an 8 year old should be doing. My kids started coming here about 18 months ago. My daughter although not super athletically inclined loves coming here for the Rec classes. She moves at her own pace and never feels belittled by the coaches/instructors for not being able to do a skill yet, and I can see that she has gotten stronger and grows in confidence as she masters new skills. My younger son is on the team. I cannot say enough great stuff about the coaching staff. I love the team spirit. I love that they teach respect for one another. I love the self discipline they teach the kids. And I especially appreciate what a positive role model the older boys on team are for my son, age 6. They have succeeded in creating a positive environment for my kids to learn and thrive in! PS. Ladies in the front office are super nice and helpful! read more

I attended two birthday parties here in the last year or so. I was impressed with the size of the facility and liked that the host can bring outside food. There's room for cleanliness but not unbearable. Two visits were very different I must say. The first one had great and engaging staff who led the party. my second visit was very disappointing. the male staff seemed irritated by the kids and I saw him yell at kids couple of times. I guess the staff will make of break the party here. I also did not like that the party separates girls from boys into two groups during he activity time. it was that way for both parties I attended. read more

My daughter has been training at GW for 4 years now and is competing at the Xcel level. We couldn't be any happier with our experience. My daughter loves training here 3 times a week. We discovered Gymnastics World after attending a birthday party there, and subsequently had our own birthday party there as well. Both were fun, well run events. My daughter Issy has always been a little shy and reserved when trying new things, but because she was already familiar with the gym, she agreed to enroll in summer camp, albeit, only if a friend enrolled with her. She thoroughly enjoyed summer camp and we enrolled her the very next summer. She loved the various activities the gym provided and started advancing in gymnastics. Summer camp was a combination of gymnastics, dance, crafts and sometimes special guests and themes. Before I continue, I noticed that one of the other posters spoke about a negative experience with Coach Megan and I wanted to share our experience. Coach Megan coached my daughter and my daughter loved her. Coaches are there to guide and teach, not only gymnastics, but also discipline and respect. In my daughter's class, there were a few kids that frequently got out of line, disrupted the class, and didn't take it seriously. One of them actually put hands on my daughter at one point. Yes I know kids will be kids, but in some environments where safety is a concern, kids need to learn to pay attention. Sure I heard raised voices and kids being put in their place from time to time, but that's to be expected. A couple of the kids were repeat offenders and needed to be reminded often. In a teaching environment, even if it's only a summer camp, children need to adapt to the different teaching styles of every coach. My daughter has worked with a lot of coaches there, and she absolutely loves every one of them. Hugs are always in order, Coach Megan included. So that tells me something. Ok, moving on. This year, we decided to enroll her in some actual classes with Coach Michael (awesome coach). She's loving it. Her friend loves it. What more can I say? My Issy is becoming more confident and more skilled each week. She trains with kids close to her own age and is never pushed way beyond her limits. I feel safe leaving her there while I grab a bite to eat, although I do like to sit and watch all the fun they are having. All three of my kids were gymnasts (2 boys/1 girl) and started attending gymnastics recreation classes when they were around 4 or 5 years old. After a year or so and after some initial training, they were asked to join competitive teams (Level 4), which they loved and continued for many years. (Side note: In hind sight, I undoubtedly recommend gymnastics as a foundational sport for kids. My kids transferred to other sports after gymnastics and had undeniable strength, flexibility and coordination advantages over other kids) Over the years, we've experienced multiple gymnastics gyms and I'm writing this review to let you know that, from a veteran gymnastics parent, Gymnastics World is super top notch! Biggest reason is that they CARE! That's hard to find. For example, they organized a "good luck" card, signed by everybody in the gym, for my son when he was competing at a big meet to show love and support. Who does that? The coaches are friendly, professional, have integrity and give the kids the appropriate level of discipline and respect. We've been a member for 11 years and I feel very safe when I dropped my daughter off. It's a great place, they just update all their equipment and cleaned it. Plenty of parking. After trying various other activities with my 4 year old daughter, we fell in love with Gymnastics World and their Staff. Huge facility, nice open area where you can easily watch your child's class, wifi friendly, areas where other siblings can do their homework, play, etc. I highly highly highly recommend Coach Matt. He is a fantastic coach who pushes my daughter and is very disciplined with the kids to ensure that they are using good form, to listen to instructions and behave. What a traumatic experience!!!! I took my 18 month old to the toddler class with Coach Claus, and it was pure hell for both of us. We sat in the large foam blocks for at least 10-15 minutes. Then we jumped on the trampoline one at a time (while the other child waited/sat in the foam again (hopefully your child doesn't like to bite things at 12-18 months--what a choking hazard). Then we went over to the giant rolling donut, which my daughter was scared of. She was supposed to sit in it like it was a giant tire and roll upside down. What is she not scared of?" he asked, a bit annoyed. Then he got a giant bouncy ball out to kick/throw around. They kicked it toward my daughter and it smacked her in the face and knocked her down. She was crying and the teacher laughed. Yes, you read it right. He thought it was funny! Think about that before you take your kids here. The teacher thinks it's funny when your kid gets hurt. Overall, this was the worst class I have ever taken--if you don't have a real class for toddlers, then don't offer it on your website!!!! read more

My child is a student at this gym and today I witnessed an employee belittling a child. Apparently the child's parents had not paid their dues. Instead on being professional and pulling the child aside and simply letting the child know to have the parent contact them, the lady at the front desk made it known to the whole gym that payment was due. That the child could not practice until dues were paid and was completely indiscreet about it. The child was so confused and ashamed, my heart dropped for him. HOW IS ETHICAL? I hope the owner reads this and does something about it. Payment is between the parent and the company not the child! read more

Thank you for giving my children an outstanding gymnastics and camp experience. Gymnastics World's staff is patient, supportive, and kind. My children talk so positively about going to have fun doing gymnastics and making good friends. This camp has wonderful hours, and the weekly theme's are fun, organized, and exciting. Thursdays are dedicated to a waterslide jumpy, and the kids have the time of their lives. The other days are theme oriented, like my son's personal favorite, "Mad Scientist." They make slime and lava lamps, and have lots of cool arts and crafts. At Gymnastics World, the kids are well tended too, looked after, engaged, and learning. A special shout out to Jenny, Dominic, Suzy, Meghan, and Cassidy! My son enjoys going to camp everyday, and he is becoming more confident in his gymnastics skills! Thank you again!! read more

My daughter attended G W for a couple years. In the beginning we loved the gym. Later on we had a coach who was so mean. My daughter was a 10 year old who was almost "under-weight" as the doctor might call it. The older age instructor called my daughter " heavy as a russian bear" and made her cry over and over again. After reporting him a couple times for his rude behavior the owner couldn't handle this issue properly because that coach was basically his best. So he said sorry there was nothing he could do. So i would really be careful before sending my kids here. They should build self esteem and confidence not a complex problem! They were so rude! read more

i'd been wanting to check this place out & try a class, after walking out of my chirobut i've been so busy. finally, went here last night after being invited by a friend who already went. PROS: -plenty of lot parking spaces -1ST CLASS's FREE!!! :D (i believe it's $30-35 for drop-in adult classes) -friendly staff, esp. the trainer we had, Lloyd. he kept pushing us to our limits, & i'm glad to get that kind of encouragement & motivation :) let me just say, i have back issues & i told him, & he understood. i did things last night that i thought my body could never do! i was so surprised & happy! we warmed up & he taught us the proper ways of doing forward head & straddle rolls; tumbles, cartwheels, handstand variations, & running/jumping forward rolls (that felt like flips; on a crash mat of course) :) CONS: -full house; meaning, our adult tumbling class wasn't just for us. lots of younger kids were there practicing their own things. some ppl may not mind, but i kind of did. -ladies/girls' restroom was filthy!!! -_- not good for someone who's hella OCD-prone lol read more

The instructor, Klaus, is great at tailoring progressions to a large variety of clients with different backgrounds in gymnastics-- whether they are there for fitness, to try something they didn't get the chance to as a child, or an ex gymnasts looking for a safe place to throw some old skills! This place is horrible. Coach MEGAN is horrible to kids. My daughter attended a few weeks of their summer camp two years ago and had a horrible time with this coach. She is mean, vicious, yells at the children all the time and like to call them names and put them down while making fun of them. She is very arrogant. My daughter refused to come back the following year as this harassment from Megan killed her interest in gymnastics. This week she decided to give it a try one more time if her younger sister went with her. I signed them both up for three days. On the first day, Megan approached my daughter and asked her if she had attended before. Then, harassed her by telling her "why did you leave the camp before? Didn't you have a problem with a coach?" My daughter did not know what to say or do. She is just a child. Megan is extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. No teacher/coach should take any problems with the children. If she has an issue with my daughter she should speak to me or her father not harass her that way. My daughter however loved coach Cassidy. She was sweet and respectful. This is supposed to be a fun camp for kids to stay busy during summer. I don't care to make a gymnast of my daughters. I was only looking for a safe, respectful, fun place to have them during summer. This place is horrible mainly because of the staff. When staff do not respect their main client (the children) is a clear sign that it is not a good place. I'm removing both my daughters from this week's camp and NEVER, NEVER coming back. I also will not recommend anybody I know to attend. If you decide to sign up your kids to this torture I recommend you stay to watch them otherwise they may cone out crying with their self-esteem on the floor. read more

Gymnastics World (GW) is a fine facility, but not without issues. My child has greatly enjoyed the actual gymnastics and loves the coach, but as a business there are issues: CON: The 5-star review (Ghazaleh, 2011) was written by AN EMPLOYEE with close ties to the owner, so of course she gave this business the highest rating possible. PRO: The facility is decent in terms of equipment and maintenance. PRO: The coaching staff is very competent, supportive and diverse with winning international athletes from previous olympic and national competitions teaching at GW. A Bulgarian in the 2012 London Olympics taught at GW in 2011. CON: Cost. GW Nickel and dimes gymnasts. Examples: -Outrageous markups on required (team) uniforms bought wholesale. A sweatsuit that sells wholesale for $35-50 should not cost a family $170, so the owner can pad his wallet. -Fundraising: This is a business, not a non-profit or charity. Requiring families that are already paying $200-400 per month to fundraise at a private, for-profit company is akin to having to fundraise for Sport Clips in order to get my haircut there in addition to paying to have my actual haircut. Selling chocolate for AYSO or Little League is understandable, but the fundraising requirement at GW is absurd. CON: Billing often gets screwed up with the wrong amounts deducted or deducted on the wrong days by office staff. CON: Some staff can be very petty with gymnasts that left the gym treated very rudely at other meets (as directed by one coach). If you have a child that leaves the gym (and/or switches to another facility), you WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE YOUR OTHER CHILD OUT OF GW and you will be treated with hostility at meets. CON: Management is thin (for the noted reasons---cost of participating, fundraising, etc.). I would give the management team 1 star, but the staff THAT CARE deserve 3 stars overall. read more

After a long and thoughtful process my husband and I decided to go with gymnastics world. Shortly after we were introduced to coach Megan. It's now been a year and I can not say enough good things about coach Megan and her coaching ethics with my daughter. She has been nothing but a positive role model for my daughter. Her coaching and interaction with the kids is second to none. My daughter's attitude and work ethic has been awesome. She loves to go the gym and looks forward to a fun but demanding practice. In today's age kids are to cuddled and led by the hand. Coach Megan demands hard work and is quick to reward them when it's appropriate. As to the gym I have no problem with the staff who has been very helpful and quick to assist my husband and I with any concerns or questions. read more

If you are looking for a professional gymnastics class for your kids this is the place for you! Coaches are very professional. They are all trained to work with kids and approach them according to their age. There is a great balance between discipline and fun. My daughter is almost 4 now and has been taking classes here for about a year now. She loves it! This is the only class she sticks to... I can't believe how bad this place smells. It is almost unbearable. No, it IS unbearable. It felt so dirty. I was going to sign my kids up for classes, but due to the horrific smell and layers of dirt and dust I saw, no way. If you want to know what kind of smell I'm talking about -- it's like walking inside a reeking, sour, foul smelling gym sock. The staff, ASIDE from the front desk girl and the older guy who taught the 3 year olds, both of whom were nice, didn't impress me either. Most of them seemed somewhat unprofessional and not welcoming or friendly. And it was so odd to me that I had to watch my three year old on a video screen. Half the time she was off camera and I couldn't even see her. My other kid was with the older class and they had her doing stuff that felt too advanced for her first day.
