I had the surf and turf burger which was awesome, had a moat octoberfest beer ( not a fan of moat beers) and a coke. Coke is from bottle and seemed flat ( no carbonation) but I didn't see anyone else drinking that only water or beer/mixed drinks around me. She had the falafel which was amazing. Tasted delish and it came with a nice Greek salad. They make everything here from dressing to sauces. Will come back again for sure. A group of friends and I came looking for a quick bite, and considering it has "cafe" in the name, I thought it was a reasonable assumption. We sat down and ordered drinks, but the waitress disappeared for a good 20 minutes then passed by our table twice promising that "she just had to drop some things off" before disappearing again for another 15 minutes. We hadn't even gotten our drinks yet, so we decided to walk out and stop by the pizza place next door. I don't even want to think about how long the food would've taken to make. Picked this place because of the various menu items. As a city person my bias is evident. It's a cozy place inside with a multicultural feel. There's an outside seating area in the front and in the back. Choose the back porch/deck. There were a few bugs but that come with the territory I think. As for the food, had the Veggie Pot Stickers to start. A plate of 6 was enough for a starter. Main course was the Mongolian BBQ Ribs. Not sure what makes it Mongolian but it was a half rack. It's not going to win any contests but it satisfied the crave. The quesadilla was huge served with salsa and sour cream. There are plenty of options for meat eaters and a few for vegetarians. The entrees are pricey for the frugal but everything else seemed reasonable. The idea of the place is cool because you want to try everything on the menu. In the end they make the best effort to take you away to another land but you realize you're still in New Hampshire. Would try again if in the area. read more

My friends and I came up from Boston to do a day hike and after hiking and swimming, we went to Gypsy Cafe for dinner. The food, drinks and service was great. Our server, Gayleen (?) was great, she was friendly, funny and we didn't feel rushed. I have eaten at the Woodstock in the this place has much better food, service, decor and ambiance! Our cocktails were delicious! We had the wasabi martini, a gin martini and a margarita. The calamari appetizer was also great- so nice to have calamari that isn't fried! Our entrees were great, my salad portion was a bit on the small side but the size of salmon fillet made up for it. They have a really nice menu selection which I love! For dessert, we had the chocolate molten cake and the blueberry pie. Needless to say, all of our plates were cleaned and we have a very relaxing drive back to Boston. The food is good here at the eclectic Gypsy Cafe. Right in the heart of Lincoln there are numerous choices on the menu and the food is well prepared. Nothing is simply outstanding, but the quality of food is great and the variety is tremendous. Stop in if you want something different than the typical tourist places and have a good meal in the uniquely designed cafe. Go out on a limb and order the Moroccan Bus Stop lunch, I doubt you will have a better lamb meatball dish anywhere in New Hampshire. read more

Excellent food, amazing fusions of flavors. Each dish is inspired by a nation or location, and it will make you want to visit each place. My wife enjoyed the perfectly cooked duck and I the amazing dragon sirloin steak. The recommendations from the staff were spot-on, our waitress was extremely polite and prompt, the atmosphere is very inviting and warm. Perfect for a romantic date evening. We had a toddler with us so imagine how romantic it would have been I would recommend this place only if you have enough time to spare. The decor was so beautiful and I would just keep looking at it all day. Menu had cuisines from almost all parts of the world. We had cumin cauliflower fritters and pumpkin pasta. Both were absolutely delicious. Having said that for the protein mushroom and tofu it costed us $10 extra which was too pricy. For dessert molten lava cake with icecream was yum!! I always love the food at Gypsy Cafe. It's a tiny, cozy spot where you're welcomed in from the cold. Service is friendly and kind, drinks are good, food is excellent given its located in a pretty small town. I love the Angus steak with sides of smashed potatoes and asparagus- YUM!! It's a treat to go out to dinner there, I give it 5 stars all around. Update! 9/17/07 We just went back and there are new owners. It's not as good as it used to be. My husband and I are vegetarians and were looking for a decent place to have our meals while we were at the Franconia Notch State Park. We tried Gypsy Cafe for a lunch and we were so impressed that we went back for lunch the following day! They have about four vegetarian options on their menu. We tried three (quinoa fritters, falafel and spicy black bean burger) of them and loved them! We would definitely go back if we had a chance to! Gypsy usually has a good crowd. The food is good as well. But after years of supporting this local restaurant, I'm moving on. The waitress and owner try to be efficient with their tables and move people along and it gets really annoying. After 3 minutes of sitting down, they want to take your order for a main meal (even if you have ordered an app) and quickly try to push you out after you finish your main course.
