the location is a artists dream. the raspberry lemonade was so so good - as was the pineapple basil refresher. our server was so very sweet. i stubbed my toe and she even brought me a bag of ice. we loved it here and would def come back!

This place had the most random things on the menu; how good could it possibly be? But, surprisingly, our favorite meal during our New England trip was here. Cashew asparagus stir fry - My fave! Fresh and flavorful, this is exactly what I needed. Grilled cheese fondue - Sounds rather fancy, right? But it was just grilled cheese cut into squares with a savory-sweet dipping sauce. My family loved it. Pulled duck grilled cheese - Husband's fave, another win. This is the kind of place you go to after a long day hiking or just being outdoors. The kind of place that serves comfort food and just the right amount too (not too much where you just want to crawl in bed and rot right after). Will definitely save this cute spot for future travels.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening around 7pm. Easy parking across the street. I walked in and they said they would have to check if they could take walk ins but I was lucky and they were able to seat me at the bar. The bar was perfect for me and a nice atmosphere inside. The bartender was nice and attentive. The menu has a variety of different foods so hard to make a decision! Everything sounds so tasty. I at first ordered the falafel plate. About 10-15 minutes later they told me they came back and told me they didnt have any croquettes which was sad. I think ordered a special Korean chicken plate that was good. A lot of chicken and it was nice and crisp. Dish was very filling. I had a nice time and a good meal!

Fourth time here and the food is equally good as years ago. I am not sure why their menu doesn't show Indonesian noodles but you can order it nevertheless. We were in NH for 4 days and out of that we were at Gypsy cafe for 2. We love this place it has a lil bit of everything. we tried their malai kofta, fried fritters, Indonesian noodles, Brazilian rice, butter pasta(from kids menu) and corn and cauliflower patties. Everything was delicious and the service was good. Just one thing to be mindful of is they do require you to make a reservation in advance eventhough the place might not be as crowded at 5:30 PM. Coming back again when we are in Lincoln!

Rating: 4.3 Came to try this place for dinner due to its popularity. It's a restaurant that serves fusion dishes combining different cultural food. Small parkings lot available. Inside is nicely decorated and seems hippie. Inside is spacious and has many seatings. It was not too busy so we were sat down immediately on a side table with chairs. We ordered grilled cheese fondue, Indonesian swordfish noodle, and Thai style salad with chicken. The grilled cheese fondue was tasty. Buttery and savory grilled cheese goes well with sweet and sour anchovies bbq like sauce. Indonesian sword fish noodle was delicious. The sword fish was a bit dry but sweet and savory peanut sauce helped keep it moist and flavorful. Noodles had good texture and veggies and peanuts added to the flavor/texture profile. My partner enjoyed her thai salad. Service was good and staffs were nice. Overall the place was pretty good. Great flavors and vegan options are plus for some people. The place is unique in a way that offers dishes combining different cultures which was refreshing. Downside was that the price was on higher side for some of its menu and that there were ants everywhere on our table and the side of the window which can be seen as unsanitary.

The Gypsy Cafe is a very eccentric and eclectic spot. Their menu covers the globe, and there is something that will satisfy everyone's taste buds. I normally pop in for dinner, but this day, I stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Italian Duck Grilled Cheese with goat cheese. It was the perfect amount of food for a quick lunch. I do wish there had been more basil aioli and fig jam, but it was tasty nonetheless. If you stop in for dinner, I highly recommend the Sea Flower Shrimp and Sugar Pie for dessert. They also have such a fun variety of drinks and weekly specials. The service is always fast, and the servers are always lovely. Whether you're visiting Lincoln to ski, hike, or mountain bike, a stop at the Gypsy Cafe is a must!

Here for dinner hours! We needed to try this place after some deep research on its unique taste of different cultural foods~ it's a mix of Asian, American, and Mexican foods (might be missing another culture) with a twist and some vegan/veggie options~ The atmosphere and vibes are "chill" and a place to bring a group of friends for drinks. The decor is so trippy and cool. It's mosaic of letters, flowers, disco, with some faux cactus, and mosaic tables~ my complaint is the small ants appearing out of nowhere. TBH, I was a bit creeped by ants, and it was a nuisance, but after a couple sips of my margarita, I didn't care~ these margaritas are mostly alcohol which is worth your $$~ if I had just one more, I'd be ready to party ~ very enjoyable~ For appetizers, we shared a fondue, which consisted of mini cheese sandwiches with a pot of sweet and tangy warmed sauce. I couldn't pinpoint what it was because it tasted like a mix of tamarind, bbq, and sweet and sour. Delicious and worth the order. Loved every piece! For my dish, I ordered the chicken Thai salad which was delicious~ the dressing came on the side which was wonderful because I like my salad dry (very controversial I know). Everything was delicious but standard salad wise. My partner ordered the sword fish Indonesian, and it was delicious~ it has peanut sauce noodles and the sword fish was good~ very heavy, but delicious. Service was prompt and luckily, we weren't waiting and there was no line because we arrived at dinner opening of 5pm. I lifted very satisfied!

The reviews led me here. Service was good. It's always amusing to me when people find it odd that you come to a restaurant and you're eating alone. This should be normalized as there are many solo travelers all over even if you might not see them where you live. Anyways...... As an appetizer, I got the curried kale salad, which was recommended by the waiter. Because it's kale, I had very low expectations. But surprisingly, it turned out to be quite tasty. Rating: 4.5/5 I got Thai Red Curry Duck as an entree. The peanut-based sauce was where all the flavor was. The duck by itself was bland but cooked tender and maybe a little rare. It was a little chewy. The rice was cooked right and had some flavor. The asparagus was cooked just fine. Overall, the meal was pretty good but I got tired of it halfway through. I think the dish had a little too much duck for me or maybe it was because I was getting full. Rating: 3.5/5 I was full by the time I was done with my last few bites. Shouldn't have ordered a beverage beyond water.

We recently had some chimney work done and the owner wanted to thank us by eating here. We have been going to the Gypsy for over a decade and it remains consistently good. The service is professional and the food is always varied and well prepared. The full bar offers top shelf labels as well; in other words, a pleasant dining experience in Linwood. My Korean chicken stir fry was tasty and filling; worth having again for sure. Unfortunately, no room for dessert.

The Gypsy Cafe is right in the heart of Lincoln, NH. We stayed at the Holiday Inn down the street with plans to do some hiking in the area. The restaurant has a pretty nice menu, mostly Mediterranean type dishes. I had the Australian lamb chops for my main entree. It was on the specials menu and was very tasty. We also had their hummus appetizer which was very good. It comes with hummus, Baba ghanoush, olives, feta cheese, Tzatziki sauce and pita points. Great appetizer...baba ghanoush was a little on the oily side but tasted pretty good. For dessert, we had the salted caramel lava cake...to die for! Overall, solid four star restaurant with five star service and comfortable atmosphere. If you're in Lincoln, the Gypsy Cafe is a solid choice. Enjoy!

Excellent food, amazing fusions of flavors. Each dish is inspired by a nation or location, and it will make you want to visit each place. My wife enjoyed the perfectly cooked duck and I the amazing dragon sirloin steak. The recommendations from the staff were spot-on, our waitress was extremely polite and prompt, the atmosphere is very inviting and warm. Two big pluses were the fireplace and the noise-dampening pads on the ceiling to cut down on that normal dull roar of a bustling restaurant. Thanks for the wonderful dining experience! read more

Perfect for a romantic date evening. We had a toddler with us so imagine how romantic it would have been I would recommend this place only if you have enough time to spare. The decor was so beautiful and I would just keep looking at it all day. Menu had cuisines from almost all parts of the world. We had cumin cauliflower fritters and pumpkin pasta. Both were absolutely delicious. Having said that for the protein mushroom and tofu it costed us $10 extra which was too pricy. For dessert molten lava cake with icecream was yum!! Excellent place for a beautiful evening but all this come at an exorbitant price :) read more

Found this gem in Lincoln and loved everything from the martinis to food and menu. Very eclectic and cozy place. Granted the place is very small and always packed when we've tried to go back. Our kids looked it too. Dishes with peanut sauce were great!! read more

Picked this place because of the various menu items. As a city person my bias is evident. It's a cozy place inside with a multicultural feel. There's an outside seating area in the front and in the back. Choose the back porch/deck. There were a few bugs but that come with the territory I think. As for the food, had the Veggie Pot Stickers to start. A plate of 6 was enough for a starter. Main course was the Mongolian BBQ Ribs. Not sure what makes it Mongolian but it was a half rack. It's not going to win any contests but it satisfied the crave. The quesadilla was huge served with salsa and sour cream. There are plenty of options for meat eaters and a few for vegetarians. The entrees are pricey for the frugal but everything else seemed reasonable. The idea of the place is cool because you want to try everything on the menu. In the end they make the best effort to take you away to another land but you realize you're still in New Hampshire. Would try again if in the area. read more

My friends and I came up from Boston to do a day hike and after hiking and swimming, we went to Gypsy Cafe for dinner. The food, drinks and service was great. Our server, Gayleen (?) was great, she was friendly, funny and we didn't feel rushed. I have eaten at the Woodstock in the this place has much better food, service, decor and ambiance! Our cocktails were delicious! We had the wasabi martini, a gin martini and a margarita. The calamari appetizer was also great- so nice to have calamari that isn't fried! Our entrees were great, my salad portion was a bit on the small side but the size of salmon fillet made up for it. They have a really nice menu selection which I love! For dessert, we had the chocolate molten cake and the blueberry pie. Needless to say, all of our plates were cleaned and we have a very relaxing drive back to Boston. The outdoor seating was also a plus. If you are in the Lincoln area, I would absolutely recommend this place! read more

The food is good here at the eclectic Gypsy Cafe. Right in the heart of Lincoln there are numerous choices on the menu and the food is well prepared. Nothing is simply outstanding, but the quality of food is great and the variety is tremendous. Stop in if you want something different than the typical tourist places and have a good meal in the uniquely designed cafe. Go out on a limb and order the Moroccan Bus Stop lunch, I doubt you will have a better lamb meatball dish anywhere in New Hampshire. read more

OMG!! WHAT A GREAT MENU!!!!! this was our first time coming to this restaurant, first time in this area. what a great selection on their menu. if you enjoy fresh, very flavorful and satisfying meals from different parts of the world this is the place to go. from the apps to main course on to dessert you will absolutely find something scrumptious to tickle your taste buds. perfectly sized portions so you can have a little of everything without breaking the bank or undoing your belt :) this is a mandatory do over!! nice job gypsy cafe, we'll be back!!!! ;P read more

We spent $700 at this restaurant. Before we were finished the owner came over and said to hurry up our meal because people were waiting for our table! So rude and unprofessional. We spent a ton of money, appetizers, drinks, desserts etc then the second the bill came we were asked to leave AGAIN because people were waiting behind us. We literally just finished our dessert and paid when she came over to ask us to leave. Aren't you supposed to cater to your customers especially when they just spent a ton of money? Then when our friend said she was being rude she screamed get the Fuck out of my restaurant! Wow! So unprofessional and no class. read more

I had the salmon it was excellent, very tasty, my husband had the pulled pork & my sister-in-law who has eaten here many times & recommended the place had lamb chops. Reservations is a must. I always love the food at Gypsy Cafe. It's a tiny, cozy spot where you're welcomed in from the cold. Service is friendly and kind, drinks are good, food is excellent given its located in a pretty small town. I love the Angus steak with sides of smashed potatoes and asparagus- YUM!! It's a treat to go out to dinner there, I give it 5 stars all around. Update! 9/17/07 We just went back and there are new owners. It's not as good as it used to be. I had the same dish and it wasn't as delicious as I remembered. Still has great drinks tho. read more

My husband and I are vegetarians and were looking for a decent place to have our meals while we were at the Franconia Notch State Park. We tried Gypsy Cafe for a lunch and we were so impressed that we went back for lunch the following day! They have about four vegetarian options on their menu. We tried three (quinoa fritters, falafel and spicy black bean burger) of them and loved them! We would definitely go back if we had a chance to! Our party of four really enjoyed the interesting and eclectic menu. Make reservations! Artsy interior where I learned I enjoy the artist Doug Desjardnes (sp?) I guess everyone wants to buy the painting I wanted to buy...that is not for sale! Our service was good for a hectic night; they held of table for us because we got lost. Fantastic! What a gem. Honestly, my compliments to the staff and owners. Great evening entertaining guests with the utmost attention to detail. I would have no fear ordering any dish. The Brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had and the sole special was in fact special. Finished it with an incredible Canadian sugar pie. Thank you Gypsy Cafe for a wonderful evening. I'm so happy we found this cute restaurant! The inside is charming and the food is delicious! They offer outdoor seating or they have a decent amount of seating inside as well with a larger bar. I couldn't be happier with our meal. I had the cauliflower bites which were on special as an appetizer and the Tao black bean veggie burger with Mediterranean salad. My fiancé had a tofu dish and the vegan pot stickers and he was also very happy with his meal. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. Definitely make a stop if you're in the area. They offer a vegan and vegetarian menu in addition to their regular menu. read more

Had lunch & dinner at this restaurant which is very deceiving from the outside. It was packed the day we went for lunch so we ate @ the bar & tried several apps that were very delicious & fun to eat. There were 3 in our party for lunch. & we shared 3 apps - the shrimp, noodles & Brie fondue- highly recommend all of them! Fresh squeezed lime Margueritas cranked up the experience! Bartender was helpful but not overly friendly. Later in the week, 2 of us went back for dinner on a Thursday ( made reservations but didn't need to as they weren't that busy). We we greeted right away & sat in the dining area away from the bar. The decor is unique & whimsical. Tiles/mosaics all done by the chef. The mushroom. & Brie soup was to die for. The beef wrapped in grape leaves were made perfect by the Thai dipping sauce. Had duck & Barramundi fish entrees which were delicious. The Cuban flan & Key lime pie were scrumptious! The flan was done perfectly- best I've ever had. The chef's mother makes all the desserts. She was the hostess we later found out by having a friendly conversation with her. She. & her son bought the restaurant 7 years ago. She was very friendly, informative & proud of her son's accomishments. She shared that he used to work @ The Woidstock Inn before deciding to buy the Gypsy Cafe when it went up for sale. She had just retired. I stopped here with my mom and dad while driving to a family vacation in NH. It's an immediately likable place, with two rooms and a bar decorated in bright mosaics, funky decor and cool lighting. Happily, the food was just as likable. The waitress recommended the "crazy good" mushroom brie soup, and we loved it. Though its creaminess made it feel more like a winter soup, she told us they have it as a special year round because it's so popular. I ordered a lunch special, the smoked salmon BLT on ciabatta. My mom got the portobello mushroom sandwich and we swapped halves. Both were great. My dad enjoyed his turkey reuben. They serve the sandwiches with chips and a couple of carrots that seemed like they were pickled, a unique and yummy touch. I really liked the mango iced tea, and also liked that they had a bunch of non-alcoholic drink options besides the standard fountain sodas. I ordered alligator bites and nachos. Everyone was raving about the nachos in their reviews, and the portion looked generous on Yelp. However, the alligator bites were simply disappointment. There were several pieces literally size of a pea. They charged a lot for really very small portion. Nachos portion was good like the pictures. When I took a bite, boy was it salty! It tasted like the chips were dipped in sea water. NOT good for people with high blood pressure. Tried to eat more of the nachos because we were going to pay, but I just could not finish it, it was sooo salty. The town is a tourist town, so the prices were not cheap. Try Wayne's Meat Market for generous portions and great taste with honest prices. read more

What a wierd menu...its like throw a bunch of stuff together and see what sticks. There was absolutly nothing on tbe menu that sounded even vaguely edible except for the mexican stuff. I have been a chef for 30 years and love creativity but there is a whole canon of culinary theory that should not just be thrown out the window. Fusion cuisine is perhaps the most difficult concept to execute well and it does not involve mixing ingredients and cultures with no rhyme or reason. The chef here is completely of the reservation. Hamburger with thai peanut sauce?! Heres a dish i created it will fit right in. Thai spiced escargot banh mi style wellington in a apple butter puff pastry. Good luck read more

Had such a nice experience here last night. Got the curry chicken wing appetizer which was very good. The dry rub "dip" was excellent. I got the southwest pasta with grilled chicken and my boyfriend got the curry duck; he is a restaurant industry professional and said it was the best duck dish he's had that he didn't cook himself. He basically licked the plate clean and I took my left overs home to savor it later. They also had a very limited but very nice draft beer selection for him and a good margarita with nice tequila selection for me.
