OMG I have never eaten anything so so so delicious in my entire life, you have to try their Gyro it's real meat so yummy, we also got their fries with shrimps any gyro meat with yummy white sauce and red hot sauce- it's something to die for- oh not forgetting their rice with delicious tender juicy tandoori chicken you have to a must try this too. I was so happy when they finally opened! I always get the combo over rice, chicken over rice or lamb over rice. I haven't tried any other dishes so this review is solely based on these dishes and my experiences there. I like to call my order in on my way home from work since the restaurant is so close to my house. When they first opened, I had issues with this. Either their phone would be busy all night long, or I'd get put on hold and the person would never come back. I finally emailed them and they assured me that they were getting additional lines put in. I haven't had many phone issues since then. I love their chicken/lamb/combo over rice. I always say no olives and I love the salad that comes with it. The meat is so well seasoned. The white and red sauce compliment the rice, salad and meat(s) so well. I swung by to get some items to go for dinner and was very impressed. The place may present itself as Mediterranean, but it definitely has some Indo-Pakistani influences as well. We got a couple of combo dishes, which gave us a chance to sample their chicken gyro meat, their lamb gyro meat, vegetables, and rice. They also have simple gyro sandwiches that you can order. The guys behind the counter call the sandwiches "JY-rohs" instead of "YEE-ros" which threw me off and made me wonder if they even knew what they were serving. I really shouldn't have been worried, because they were churning out some impressive meals at a surprisingly good pace, and they had people in and out within about 10 minutes of ordering. The lamb gyro meat was about what you'd find at most other places, sliced slightly thicker but with a nice juiciness to it. The chicken resembled chicken tikka that you'd find at a typical Indo-Pakistani restaurant, as did the way they mixed their tzatziki and hot sauces. Saw this place on twitter, and decided to give them a try. I was very satisfied with the food. I ordered the chicken and lamb over rice and it was SO good. The chicken was very tasty and seasoned perfectly and the lamb was good also (but I preferred the chicken) so next time I'll probably just get chicken. The red and white sauce in my opinion is what made the meal even better, so definitely be sure to try that. I also like that they have fresh juices available here that I was told they make without ice, water, or any added sugar which is really good. Will definitely return. read more

It's a cafe fast food style mediterranean food that sells falafel, gyro and other sandwiches and platters. If you've been to jones chicken on bellaire and fondren, then this place is pretty much the same style and concept. Their top selling item is lamb over rice which is delicious. It's small pieces of lamb served over rice with salad. Also popular are their gyro sandwiches which U can have with different sorts of meats. I had the lamb gyro which was cooked to perfection with plenty of fixings inside the sandwich. The prices are very affordable and ambiance is casual. They serve free wifi and the place gets pretty crowded during lunch hour. My suggestion is to order food in advance to avoid rush and long lines. They also cook meat halaal (kosher) if u have a religious restriction. If u are a fan of mediterranean cuisine, then definitely give gyro king a try. It'll be worth it. read more

I was a huge fan of the truck on Old Spanish Trail, and am super happy they're finally closer to Sugar Land! They have very late hours and the guys working there are so friendly too. The truck on OST was always spotless, and this new location is also very clean. They are very generous with their portions, especially with their salads (lamb over salad), and the salad comes with chick peas, corn, pickled stuff, etc. Lamb chops over rice are well worth the $15, the four pieces are huge ! I have tried the other similar restaurants, and there is no comparison. These guys here are consistent with the good quality of their food and large portions, unlike Jones for example which would always have something different with their order (some times there would be corn, other times olives, just whatever they felt like tossing in). Jones was just so disgusting of a place to order food from. The newer Halal Guys place on Farnham is just all hype and their food is gross, I had a gyro there at HG with maybe two tablespoons of meat in the entire sandwich ! It wasn't even a real lamb gyro, it was just beef! I even prefer the white sauce of Gyro King you can see and taste the dried mint, the hyped up white sauce at Halal Guys is just like a tastless watery Mayo. I don't know how crowded this place gets due to when we ordered but I imagine it could get crazy with the orders. The food is great. I had lamb combo with some Greek fries on the side. The meat was delicious. Salty but I like that amount of salt so it might not be for you. They pack your box with rice and veggies so it's a good size for what you pay. They also give you a bunch of sauce that you can poor over your rice in case your wanted that extra kick. I couldn't comment about the gyros but I imagine it's their signature dish with the same meat. Overall, if you are looking for great Mediterranean food, this is a great place to start. Frozen solid hummus, and mediocre gyros. The gyros are more like a salad with pita bread on the bottom. The gyro has giant squares, like 1 by 1 inch of lamb and and a lot of vegetables; which doesn't help keep its shape and it just crumbles apart in your hand. There was also no warning about the amount of spice in the gyro, i think it was the sauce, however, I like the spice but the person i was eating with was not having a good time and would've liked to have been warned before hand. Only minus I would give would be that when I went on the soft opening the man taking my order couldn't speak English so me trying to explain what I wanted was a little bit of a problem.
