The food here is one of the best in seattle, fresh, tasty, and great portions. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They guide you through the options if you want to try something new on the menu. It has become my new favorite gyro spot since I've tried it last year. Consistently good.

When stopping by the local Family Donut shop, I noticed that Gyro Sababa has been an interesting option that is well liked by the community to check out, and I am glad that I was able to stop by to try out this restaurant! We went on a Saturday around dinner time (7pm) and were able to get a table. The restaurant itself is located on a small shopping block, and there are about 5-10 parking spots total at the front of the shops. I can see it being a bit difficult to come in from the Meridian ave street as you may get grouped up with the people wanting to turn left. Service is decently fast and responsive, and ordering is done at the cashier and they will bring the food out to you. By default, there isn't a water machine/dispenser, and we didn't automatically get water - we had to request it from the service workers and then they would bring it out to us in a small plastic cup. The ambiance is definitely fast casual as only a select few people stayed behind to eat their order and majority of people left. I got the number 16, which is the beef and lamb kabab platter ($20). At a first glance, it looks like there is a decent amount of food on the platter, but if you are really hungry, this still may not be enough as 60% of the plate is basically just hummus, yogurt, and some light salad. You may need to order an additional appetizer/dessert afterwards to get full. The kabab has a nice hearty and meaty texture, though it is a lot more dryer than other kababs that I have tried in the Seattle area. The hummus is good - very smooth and helps with the dryness of the kabab, and acts as a nice glue between the rice and the kabab. I personally wasn't wowed by the plate, but I think if you are looking to scratch that Mediterranean itch - this restaurant has got you covered. Price-wise, I think that this place does lean on the pricier side as I have seen these dishes at comparable restaurants for $2-3 less that what they offer here, and combo platters at other places being the price of a singular meat option here. There does seem to be a couple of other options on the menu that seemed pretty interesting, that I would definitely try if I was back at Gyro Sababa in the future.

Beef and lamb shawarma platter 9/10 didnt love the rice but everything else was soooo good.

The workers were friendly and nice. Told them I loved the food would come again. It was super clean, and the bathroom was as well. It wasn't busy some people eating in the lobby, and the food came out quick and fresh!!

Came here after an appointment (based on Yelp reviews) and what a pleasant surprise! The place is in an older stripe mall. I had the gyro salad, they heat up the gyro meat for me because making the salad in front of me. I love that you put the special garlic paste and the yogurt salad dressing in opposite corners of the salad so I can taste both of them separately. It was so fresh and yummy. Highly recommend!

Located in a little busy strip mall area, this is a fast casual place that works well for a quick weekday lunch when you're on a time crunch. We shared a lamb/beef gyro platter ($18) and ordered extra pita (I believe $1.25/50 each?) and tzatziki sauce ($1.25) which was enough food for the two of us due to the amount of rice that came with it. The platter came with gyro meat over rice, a small side salad and a dollop of hummus. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tasty and the star of the show for me. The extra tzatziki was portion was very small though (a little ketchup container's worth). We aren't big eaters so this was enough for the two of us to finish completely. Overall a fast and tasty meal.

Amazing casual gyro place near north gate! Got our food fast and loved every bite. Portion sizes were big enough for two people to share. Service was excellent as well. The parking lot can feel a bit sketchy, just be cautious. But we'll be back!

Came here Sunday evening for dinner. We were greeted warmly and ordered dine-in. We got the #1 lamb & beef plate and the lamb & beef gyro with a side of sababa fries. Each dish was flavorful and tasted great. For the price, it's reasonable and the portions are large! The staff were friendly and there's a few tables to sit at. Parking is also easy. Will definitely be back next time I'm craving Mediterranean food.

I've been wanting to try this place after MB recommended it. I love gyros, but ordered the Shawarma King Wrap with lamb and beef. It was delicious! A little different from a gyro in that it is a wrap and has pickled veggies. The entire wrap is also grilled on both sides, so it's piping hot when you get it. Service was welcoming and prompt. I'm looking forward to their new store opening in Shoreline in late September.

My main man Mo at Gyro Sababa is cooking up them MEATS. Upon walking in, you will immediately see the star of the show... *** THE SHAWARMA SPIT *** Just absolutely sweating meat juices down its sides. It makes you want to put your head underneath to capture the shawarma essence as it falls, but that could be just me. Mo cheffed up this lovely shawarma platter for me. Rice, salad, meat, hummus, pita, what more could you ask for? Perfect size too. I wasn't disgustingly full when I left, but I felt incredibly happy with what I was served. Their garlic sauce and hummus provide the ideal consistency and flavor with which to smother on top of the pita and turn this meal into an interactive event. The place could use a little more seating though, because Gyro Sababa is exponentially increasing in popularity (especially after this review) Would love to come back and try more food. Thanks, Mo.

Amazing food! I had the gyro salad and the meat was so well cooked and seasoned! I think it's the best gyros I've had! The salad was filling and portions were generous. The staff was great, while I was there, there was a small kid and the owners were playing with him and gave him a free drink! It's so heartwarming to see them treat children so nicely! I'll definitely be returning here next time I'm in Northgate! read more

This is our go-to for take out. Service is great, they are quick (and they are always busy!), and the food is always delicious. We always order too much food because everything is so good. We returned quickly for my garlic sauce and baba ghanoush fix! This time I tried the chicken shawarma platter & was not disappointed! It was delicious and the meat was just right. I am not a lamb eater so my only wish would be a separate beef dish so I could try that, but the chicken works for me so no complaints. Their service is above and beyond. The owner, who reached out after my first review, told my husband (by name) to thank me (by name, by memory). I think the 4 extra garlic sauces & 2 baba ghanoush sides I ordered tipped him off Things like that show they pay attention & care and that is exactly what I love about small local businesses. Kudos to you Gyro Sababa. Definitely one of our favorite Seattle restaurants & totally worth the 30 minute drive (round trip). read more

Nice low key shawarma spot with loads of vegetarian options and great prices. Very very clean and friendly, quick service. There are a few tables to sit and eat- but lots of takeout orders. We got the shawarma king sandwich (11.99) - would give this a 4/5 as it needed a little more garlic sauce or tahini at the end where there wasnt much filling. Easily remedied by asking g them to go heavy on the garlic sauce and hummus when placing your order. We also got the falafel super sandwich(10.99- falafel, fried cauliflower, eggplant.- this was a 5/5 vegetarian sandwich with good flavors and recommend asking them to give you some hot sauce on the side. Good prices , very good service and clean interiors makes this a spot i would go to again and try the plates and other items. The high rating on yelp which led us here did not disappoint as i liked this better than shawarma king which is our usual go to. They aren't open as late into the night though. read more

I recently dined at Gyro Sababa and it is hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant I've experienced in town. I had the chicken shawarma plate, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was incredibly tasty, perfectly seasoned, and tender. The rice that accompanied the dish was bursting with flavor and complemented the chicken wonderfully. This place is definitely overrated. Got to-go food here last night; I got the mazzat veggie platter and hubs got the chicken shawarma pita. My platter tasted like they just took premade food and plopped into a to go tray. The hummus was fine, the baba was not good and the pita was incredibly dense and hard as a rock. Nothing tasted homemade My husband ate his shawarma and said it was fine, but Zaina is infinitely better. Service was fine for a to-go order; not much ambiance since it's part of a strip of buildings. I doubt we'll be back. read more

I just ate the perfect chicken gyro!! It had lots of lettuce, tomatoes and grilled chicken on a warm toasted pita. Mmmm! I came in just before 5pm. Casual spot for a balanced meal. We got the shawarma wrap with comes with a nice garlic sauce and a gyro platter. The owner runs a one-man show and handles both the front and back of the house. It's fun to see everything made fresh, he griddles the meat and pita together in the wraps so it's a little crispy. The rice is spiced well and both the salad and meat is fresh. If this place was closer to home we would definitely be regulars! read more

Simply delicious. I went in during lunch and Ordered the chicken kabob plate. Service was good, the owner handed me my food and stated he made the plate himself. The rice had great flavor, chicken and veggies had good charring (which I'm a fan of). Serving size was good, definitely left me satisfied. I will be coming back. read more

Went to the new location in UDistrict - it was so good! Everything was super hot and fresh. A man who I believe is the owner or manager was speaking to us after our meal - I had ordered a falafel pita and he told me that they use a special oil just for frying the falafel and that the spice blend was hand blended and imported straight from Palestine! Amazing! I'm so happy this place is great because it's so close to where I live, I'll definitely be coming back as often as I can. read more

4 star food with 5 star service! Not the quickest "fast" food... it takes a little while for preparation.... Which means it's all fresh. (I think they have a lot of call in orders too). Guys working we're very friendly and seemed to really care if you liked your meal. We came here to get falafel pita and it was very good. Be patient cuz they are usually very busy. I appreciate that they take making food seriously. They are very friendly and hard working people. A lot of takeouts and Uber eats orders. You can dine here too. Very clean and neat place. read more

Favorite gyro eatery. Fresh vegetables, soft warm pita, meat portion and quality is top notch. Meet is well seasoned not dry or too salty. Vegetables are FRESH!! The sauces are simple and tasty. I'd use those pita as a blanket if I could. Friendly service. In a humble strip off Northgate way, but good way better than most other gyro establishments in seattle. ITS CLEAN there too which is +++. Outgrow the the university dirty establishment and eat here. Fries are hot and well spiced. Have had beef gyro, chicken schwarma, falafel sandwich, fries, and it's all excellent food. read more

I was not expecting to like this place as much as I did. This was SO good. I got the chicken shawarma plate and I practically cleared my plate. The chicken had good flavor and the garlic aioli sauce they put on top of it tied it all together. Their garlic fries were just as good too. Everyone working there was so friendly. We chatted it up for minute and they told me me they're opening up a second location in Shoreline, so hopefully that happens soon cause I will definitely be going there on the daily. 5/5 read more

parking: free strip mall parking service: very efficient! we called our order ahead of time and got our food within 20 mins parking: free, small parking lot what we ordered: * gyro plate: my best friend ordered it and said it was really good. * sababa fries: the fries were crispy and seasoned well. and their sauce is immaculate :) * gyro:solid gyro with generous portions of gyro meat :) main takeaway: I was craving a gyro and I stumbled across this place on Yelp. there's definitely a reason why this place is rated five stars. underrated hole in the wall that serves generous portions. Been on a Greek kick and finally got around to giving this place a try and I'm HOOKED. I wasn't super hungry, mostly craving some falafel and hummus so I kept it simple and I ordered a side of falafel, hummus and pita and fries. Service was great, very friendly and my food was ready in a very reasonable time. It was fresh and smelled so delicious I didn't even make it out of the parking lot before I tore into the hummus and pita. It was delicious and creamy with a nice nutty flavor and the pita was warm and fluffy. The falafel and tahini was delicious and satisfied the craving and then some! I absolutely cannot stand going in and out of the strip mall parking lot this place is in BUT it's worth it so just be prepared to possibly be annoyed but it's nothing that some good Greek food can't fix. read more

Everything was great. Their breakfast potatoes are flavorful and plentiful, along with the rest of the meal portions. Each dish came with a small side salad as well. They didn't serve decaf coffee, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the rest of my morning. I'll absolutely be back to spend time at the maple, and would love to check out their back patio in the summer!
