Gyro SABABA is exactly what I want from a counter-serve Mediterranean restaurant. Their prices are reasonable, their gyros are thick, and their baklava is fresh. I ordered the chicken gyro. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the veggies were crisp and just right. I like mine saucy, so I ordered a side of tzatziki sauce. The baklava was so good we ordered three more pieces to go! The service was really friendly and polite which really stood out at a counter-serve spot like this. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall but it's clean and tidy inside. I will definitely be back. I'd like to try the fries next time. read more

Excellent food, fresh and friendly! I've eaten here on a couple of occasions now when I'm in the Northgate area. Every time The staff is friendly and welcoming. Food is made to order so it can take some time but it is worth the wait. Meats are well seasoned and cooked, everything is packed with fresh ingredients and flavor. My favorite part is the variety and freshness of vegetables. My go to order is the Shawarma King Wrap with Chicken. The lentil soup is also perfect for the cold winter weather. The fries are actually the weakest item Ive had, they can be soggy and there are so many other excellent options for sides. They offer a wide range of beverages as well to fit your pallet. Definitely a big recommendation for me and I am excited to return again soon! read more

Amazing food! I had the gyro salad and the meat was so well cooked and seasoned! I think it's the best gyros I've had! The salad was filling and portions were generous. The staff was great, while I was there, there was a small kid and the owners were playing with him and gave him a free drink! It's so heartwarming to see them treat children so nicely! I'll definitely be returning here next time I'm in Northgate! read more

Food is the best! Atmosphere is very Middle Eastern authentic -a hole in the wall with really engaging cooks working hard to make fresh food that is delicious. The service was friendly and fast. We had the beef and lamb Shawarma salad, chicken, kebab plate, and Dolmats with a delicious tzatziki sauce. Salad, fresh and deliciously dressed, hummus creamy yummy, pita freshly warmed for our meal. read more

We returned quickly for my garlic sauce and baba ghanoush fix! This time I tried the chicken shawarma platter & was not disappointed! It was delicious and the meat was just right. I am not a lamb eater so my only wish would be a separate beef dish so I could try that, but the chicken works for me so no complaints. Their service is above and beyond. The owner, who reached out after my first review, told my husband (by name) to thank me (by name, by memory). I think the 4 extra garlic sauces & 2 baba ghanoush sides I ordered tipped him off Things like that show they pay attention & care and that is exactly what I love about small local businesses. Kudos to you Gyro Sababa. Definitely one of our favorite Seattle restaurants & totally worth the 30 minute drive (round trip). read more

Nice low key shawarma spot with loads of vegetarian options and great prices. Very very clean and friendly, quick service. There are a few tables to sit and eat- but lots of takeout orders. We got the shawarma king sandwich (11.99) - would give this a 4/5 as it needed a little more garlic sauce or tahini at the end where there wasnt much filling. Easily remedied by asking g them to go heavy on the garlic sauce and hummus when placing your order. We also got the falafel super sandwich(10.99- falafel, fried cauliflower, eggplant.- this was a 5/5 vegetarian sandwich with good flavors and recommend asking them to give you some hot sauce on the side. Good prices , very good service and clean interiors makes this a spot i would go to again and try the plates and other items. The high rating on yelp which led us here did not disappoint as i liked this better than shawarma king which is our usual go to. They aren't open as late into the night though. read more

Casual spot for a balanced meal. We got the shawarma wrap with comes with a nice garlic sauce and a gyro platter. The owner runs a one-man show and handles both the front and back of the house. It's fun to see everything made fresh, he griddles the meat and pita together in the wraps so it's a little crispy. The rice is spiced well and both the salad and meat is fresh. If this place was closer to home we would definitely be regulars! read more

This place is definitely overrated. Got to-go food here last night; I got the mazzat veggie platter and hubs got the chicken shawarma pita. My platter tasted like they just took premade food and plopped into a to go tray. The hummus was fine, the baba was not good and the pita was incredibly dense and hard as a rock. Nothing tasted homemade My husband ate his shawarma and said it was fine, but Zaina is infinitely better. Service was fine for a to-go order; not much ambiance since it's part of a strip of buildings. I doubt we'll be back. read more

I just ate the perfect chicken gyro!! It had lots of lettuce, tomatoes and grilled chicken on a warm toasted pita. Mmmm! I came in just before 5pm. I was so hungry, and they were quick and sweet to me to boot! The men who work hard to make us gyros and shawarma are handsome and kind, and always have a smile on their faces! 4 star food with 5 star service! Not the quickest "fast" food... it takes a little while for preparation.... Which means it's all fresh. (I think they have a lot of call in orders too). Guys working we're very friendly and seemed to really care if you liked your meal. It seemed extraordinarily to have a walk-in type restaurant where staff went out of their way to be friendly and happy that you enjoyed your meal. read more

Simply delicious. I went in during lunch and Ordered the chicken kabob plate. Service was good, the owner handed me my food and stated he made the plate himself. Went to the new location in UDistrict - it was so good! Everything was super hot and fresh. A man who I believe is the owner or manager was speaking to us after our meal - I had ordered a falafel pita and he told me that they use a special oil just for frying the falafel and that the spice blend was hand blended and imported straight from Palestine! Amazing! I'm so happy this place is great because it's so close to where I live, I'll definitely be coming back as often as I can. read more

I was not expecting to like this place as much as I did. This was SO good. I got the chicken shawarma plate and I practically cleared my plate. The chicken had good flavor and the garlic aioli sauce they put on top of it tied it all together. Their garlic fries were just as good too. Everyone working there was so friendly. We chatted it up for minute and they told me me they're opening up a second location in Shoreline, so hopefully that happens soon cause I will definitely be going there on the daily. 5/5 read more

While this review landed on 3 stars, looking over the wide variety on the menu, I can absolutely see how others have given it 4-5 stars. I used to be able to choose a mix of sauces, and back then a person was in charge of that, so I could actually see how much sauce they were adding. Now it's completely up to whoever's making my bowl, and I have zero control over it. Before, there was real value in being able to physically choose my toppings and how much of each one I got, but now that's all gone.

Then it was too many staff, not many customers and it was difficult to get service, that has been improved upon. They are nice and attentive when they see you. Service was normal, the wait staff came around and offered more beverage. This time it was still slow period, so what gives it only 3 stars instead of more? It's the fact that the main door the employee use to go into the kitchen to give their orders to the cooks had cob webs on the top of the door.i mean everyone of them walk through that door hundreds of times throughout the week because I could tell it's been there for some time. Where's the food inspector, should be a concern because if it's there in full view of customers and employees, what else is happening as far as cleanliness at Kona Kitchen. I will be there within two or three days and wonder if the cobweb will still be a fixture there... it's something that is annoying because nobody's done anything about it. Amazing.

But it's not just the falafel; their chicken shawarma, hummus, and rice are equally mouthwatering. Recently, I placed a catering order for a house party, and they did an exceptional job.
