The food here is one of the best in seattle, fresh, tasty, and great portions. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They guide you through the options if you want to try something new on the menu. It has become my new favorite gyro spot since I've tried it last year. Consistently good.

When stopping by the local Family Donut shop, I noticed that Gyro Sababa has been an interesting option that is well liked by the community to check out, and I am glad that I was able to stop by to try out this restaurant! We went on a Saturday around dinner time (7pm) and were able to get a table. The restaurant itself is located on a small shopping block, and there are about 5-10 parking spots total at the front of the shops. I can see it being a bit difficult to come in from the Meridian ave street as you may get grouped up with the people wanting to turn left. Service is decently fast and responsive, and ordering is done at the cashier and they will bring the food out to you. By default, there isn't a water machine/dispenser, and we didn't automatically get water - we had to request it from the service workers and then they would bring it out to us in a small plastic cup. The ambiance is definitely fast casual as only a select few people stayed behind to eat their order and majority of people left. I got the number 16, which is the beef and lamb kabab platter ($20). At a first glance, it looks like there is a decent amount of food on the platter, but if you are really hungry, this still may not be enough as 60% of the plate is basically just hummus, yogurt, and some light salad. You may need to order an additional appetizer/dessert afterwards to get full. The kabab has a nice hearty and meaty texture, though it is a lot more dryer than other kababs that I have tried in the Seattle area. The hummus is good - very smooth and helps with the dryness of the kabab, and acts as a nice glue between the rice and the kabab. I personally wasn't wowed by the plate, but I think if you are looking to scratch that Mediterranean itch - this restaurant has got you covered. Price-wise, I think that this place does lean on the pricier side as I have seen these dishes at comparable restaurants for $2-3 less that what they offer here, and combo platters at other places being the price of a singular meat option here. There does seem to be a couple of other options on the menu that seemed pretty interesting, that I would definitely try if I was back at Gyro Sababa in the future.

Beef and lamb shawarma platter 9/10 didnt love the rice but everything else was soooo good.

The workers were friendly and nice. Told them I loved the food would come again. It was super clean, and the bathroom was as well. It wasn't busy some people eating in the lobby, and the food came out quick and fresh!!

Came here after an appointment (based on Yelp reviews) and what a pleasant surprise! The place is in an older stripe mall. I had the gyro salad, they heat up the gyro meat for me because making the salad in front of me. I love that you put the special garlic paste and the yogurt salad dressing in opposite corners of the salad so I can taste both of them separately. It was so fresh and yummy. Highly recommend!

Located in a little busy strip mall area, this is a fast casual place that works well for a quick weekday lunch when you're on a time crunch. We shared a lamb/beef gyro platter ($18) and ordered extra pita (I believe $1.25/50 each?) and tzatziki sauce ($1.25) which was enough food for the two of us due to the amount of rice that came with it. The platter came with gyro meat over rice, a small side salad and a dollop of hummus. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tasty and the star of the show for me. The extra tzatziki was portion was very small though (a little ketchup container's worth). We aren't big eaters so this was enough for the two of us to finish completely. Overall a fast and tasty meal.

Amazing casual gyro place near north gate! Got our food fast and loved every bite. Portion sizes were big enough for two people to share. Service was excellent as well. The parking lot can feel a bit sketchy, just be cautious. But we'll be back!

Came here Sunday evening for dinner. We were greeted warmly and ordered dine-in. We got the #1 lamb & beef plate and the lamb & beef gyro with a side of sababa fries. Each dish was flavorful and tasted great. For the price, it's reasonable and the portions are large! The staff were friendly and there's a few tables to sit at. Parking is also easy. Will definitely be back next time I'm craving Mediterranean food.

I've been wanting to try this place after MB recommended it. I love gyros, but ordered the Shawarma King Wrap with lamb and beef. It was delicious! A little different from a gyro in that it is a wrap and has pickled veggies. The entire wrap is also grilled on both sides, so it's piping hot when you get it. Service was welcoming and prompt. I'm looking forward to their new store opening in Shoreline in late September.

My main man Mo at Gyro Sababa is cooking up them MEATS. Upon walking in, you will immediately see the star of the show... *** THE SHAWARMA SPIT *** Just absolutely sweating meat juices down its sides. It makes you want to put your head underneath to capture the shawarma essence as it falls, but that could be just me. Mo cheffed up this lovely shawarma platter for me. Rice, salad, meat, hummus, pita, what more could you ask for? Perfect size too. I wasn't disgustingly full when I left, but I felt incredibly happy with what I was served. Their garlic sauce and hummus provide the ideal consistency and flavor with which to smother on top of the pita and turn this meal into an interactive event. The place could use a little more seating though, because Gyro Sababa is exponentially increasing in popularity (especially after this review) Would love to come back and try more food. Thanks, Mo.

Best falafel I have ever ate in united states(Michell star)! It is crispy outside, soft inside and absolutely delicious with perfectly balanced spices. We ordered few more dishes which tasted good. Falafel is a must try here. read more

Fresh, fresh, fresh! I've tried many of the competitors to Sababa in north Seattle/university district to mixed results, my biggest complaint being old/not fresh hummus/baba ganoush/tahini/etc... that has never been an issue with Sababa though. Everything I've had thus far has been well prepared and delicious. The quality of ingredients shine and they offer consistent quality with their offerings. Highly recommend. read more

I had the beef and lamb kabob plate. It came with pita, hummus, tzatziki, rice, and a Greek salad. The rice was very fluffy and well-seasoned. The hummus was creamy, topped with delicious olive oil and an olive. The Greek salad complimented the other items on the plate. The kabobs were large and I could only eat one. The service was a bit slow, but the meal made up for it. read more

THE KINDEST PEOPLE EVER when we first walked in I left like I just walked into heaven it smelled sooo good. and Mummahad is the kindest person ever he was so kind to my siblings and whenever we go visit him he is always sooo kind. The customer service is amazing I really enjoyed having conversations with the owner. Workers are very friendly, the vibe was amazing the owner is Libyan and found out that I was Algerian and started playing our music which is a huge thing in our culture, but most of all the food was really good, perfectly seasoned and cooked and gives big filling portions. The food is very good to excellent. Plenty of options. I tried most orders they have, more or less. The food is done with delight. They're nice people, the two or three workers. It makes the food somehow tastier. The NUMBER ONE reason I come back often though is the cleanliness. Not only the seating area, but also inside, on the counter (where I alway stand and watch), and the inside kitchen (where I take a peak whenever I have the chance.) I went and took a peek at the restroom, for the sake of this review. It's squeaky clean. They have many options for drinks (see photo). A few good sweets--the usual. Prices are modest--which is good. No alcohol--which is good. They close early--I guess they have families. Parking is available--they're next to a Seven-Eleven. All in all, a solid 5 stars, in my opinion. read more

I've tried the felafel super sandwich and the mazzat veggie platter. Both these vegetarian options were delicious and filling. The house felafel, babaganoush, and hummus are all really great. Service was fast and friendly. There's a nice neighborhood vibe to it, with lots of customers coming through. Not much seating as it's primarily oriented to takeout. read more

I've been to this place 3 times in the last week (they are right by my work so very convenient!) The service is fast and friendly! The food is fresh and so delicious! I've tried the gyro platter, the gyro sandwhich and the veggie platter with falafels and all have been on point. This new gem opened near my work and we love it. Running around a hospital and only getting a 30 minute break means that if you choose to pick up your food, the place you go has to be fast and timely with their orders. This place is on point. Easily the crowd favorite among my group is the lamb gyro salad. A large salad runs you a little over 11 bucks, but it's well worth it. It's made to order so we get it Hummus tzatziki and spicy sauce. A flavor bomb if your mouth and enough food to be two meals. If you able up to the corner of northgate and meridian, you can practically follow your nose to this place. Their grilled meat is mixed with onions and when that aroma hits you, it's like a Siren is calling you over. You'll go Gaga for some Sababa. read more

Stumbled upon this place and what a hidden gem! The food is great and the SABABA Fries are fantastic! Service was quick and definitely worth the short wait as the food is prepared fresh, and it came out at the right temperature to eat on the spot. Not a lot of seating there so probably best to plan on take out, but you'll definitely want to eat your food soon as the smell alone is AMAZING and will tempt you in the car ride home for sure! read more

I love this place! I came here with my son (crazy toddler boy) and boyfriend after a day in the sun fishing. My son was running around crazy as ever! And the guy who we ordered with and made our food was so friendly and was having fun w my son instead of annoyed by him, which happens and I hate it when that happens. Plus the food was bomb. 5 starts all around. He also accidentally over charged us. We would of never even known. But he told us and apologized and gave us the option for more food or our money back. He ended up giving us extra dessert for free. read more

I had an incredible vegetarian dinner here with my son. He had the falafel, which was perfect, and I had the fried cauliflower pita, which completely exceeded my expectations. They are incredibly generous with portions and service and even give us a little bit of extra hummus in our to go cup when we couldn't finish what we've already ordered. This place is absolutely stellar and we will be coming back very soon. read more

We just ate here today for the first time. Got the chicken shawarma platter, shawarma king wrap, gyro fries with meat, and side of falafel. Everything was fine, but nothing super great (outstanding) IMHO. I'd eat here again, but not by choice. We've tried most of the gyro/shawarma places in north seattle, and this is just like another of those. I was hopeful the shawarma king wrap would be more like a zankou chicken style (I see the pickled veg in their display), but it wasn't. I guess I should have asked. read more

I love this place and I am there at least once a week. I've never went to a restaurant whose owner is so accommodating. Lately I've been on keto and I've been strict on what I can eat and he's been kind enough to modify my orders. The food is delicious one of the best spots and fresh. Small, bare bones restaurant. Amazing food, great flavors. The owner is the order taker, cook, dishwasher and cashier. A one man show. We stayed in the Nexus motel next door. We wanted a close place for a bite and conversation with a friend who lived outside Seattle. This was perfect. We sat for about 2 hrs eating, drinking and conversing. They had a steady flow of to go orders either walk-in or delivery drivers. Owner was consistently cooking and answering phone. It seemed to be that he had a rhythm and took care of everything with aplomb. Loved to see a small business man with a going concern. Hats off to you sir. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. The rice was very bland, and although the salad was actually really good, the chicken was extremely dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. The presentation looked nice, but the taste just didn't match. The portions were also quite small, and the prices felt very high for what you get. The service was just okay overall. Maybe they are still new and working things out, but for the price and portion size it just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and money considering the quality and quantity of the food.
