I'm not a boba fan in general (way too sweet/cloying) so I get the fruit tea. I still find the "less sweet" modification too seeet so today I asked for half of the less sweet version and it was the perfect amount. Still sweet, not syrupy, and I could really taste the jasmine tea. I had the Mekong (grilled pork) sandwich and it tasted good, except I would sometimes chew and get a crunch in a bad way - like when you end up with a crunchy piece of sand in your mouth when you eat a poorly cleaned clam. That texture was unpleasant but I don't see anyone else bring it up in the reviews...I hope it's a one time thing. I miss a good cold cut, so if I were to go next time, I'd go for the imperial city sandwich and get pork and cold cut in it. I also had the creme brûlée boba (less sweet) and it was phenomenal. Stopped by around lunchtime. The restaurant is located in the part of Greenlake where you have to pay for parking but there is free street parking nearby and at the park. This is my favorite Bahn Mi in Seattle! Bread is toasted perfectly, the sandwich filling is delicious (pork is my personal favorite), they put the most delicious sauce on their sandwich and bowls. Staff is always friendly and very efficient, a great place to stop for a quick grab and go. Boba tea is delicious. Came on a Sunday afternoon, and they are relatively busy. Not like some of the super hard bread that you occasionally find at banh mi shops - pork flavor is great! You can definitely taste the grilled flavor, and their marinade is quite enjoyable as well - only thing I wish was if the sandwich itself was a little larger. Maybe I'm used to eating huge Banh Mi's at other spots, but I felt that this sandwich that I ate was maybe 75% of the standard sandwich size. Anyways, for a lack of size, it makes up with a great flavor. Most people will probably be full from eating the sandwich. I am so happy to have found this spot after yoga for lunch. I ordered the thai tea and imperial special which included my choice of 2 meats, which I picked grilled chicken and pork. The bread was perfectly crispy, as well as the cucumber and picked radish and carrots. It all went together perfectly. The thai tea was also awesome. The meat was moist and cooked well. Such a great spot! I ordered an iced boba tea and it was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, very refreshing, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Delicious, reliable banh mi and rice bowls place in Greenlake area. I went here for a quick dinner and opted to order a grilled pork banh mi (mekong) through Grubhub for pickup to use my monthly Grubhub credits and it was reliable, but I recommend ordering directly on their website or go in person for lower prices. A banh mi ordering direct is around $10-11 plus tax, so not the cheapest banh mi, but it is okay price. The banh mi has a good amount of crunch without having a lot of crumbs scattered out, and there is a good amount of toppings to show they really pack the ingredients in the banh mi, but expertly put so that barely any ingredients spill around as I eat. They put a generous amount of daikon and they definitely do not skimp on the meat. Good banhmis in a local, centralized area. I often stop by here after finishing a run around the lake. I prefer to get the Mekong (pork banh mi). Bamhmis are ~$10 and rice bowl versions of the sandwiches I think are $12-$13. Only knock on this place would be that they close pretty early (7). read more

The sandwich didn't feel greasy when eating but the paper bag it came in was drenched in grease which I thought was interesting. I really want to like this place, it's in such a great location and I've gone here twice. Their banh mi's are decent, but today I tried the grilled pork bowl and was disappointed. I asked for no jalepenos, but they still added it on top. The salad portion was absolutely drenched in the sauce. The meat felt extremely fatty and oily, it didn't feel like the same cut they have at sizzle and crunch, just felt like little bits and pieces thrown together. I couldn't finish the rice at the end of the meal as it was just a mess of oil and dressing making it really soggy. Will not be ordering the bowls again :( read more

Their pate and bread was delicious but the star of the show is the meat (well portioned btw!) and their house basil aioli that I could pour on everything. A few of my friends and I came together to have lunch, and we're all Vietnamese so we decided to try out Toast Mi since banh mi was befitting for lunch. Coming inside, it was pretty modern for a typical banh mi shop. They had a sizeable menu. I ended up choosing the Ha Long Bay (grilled beef) sandwich alongside a Vietnamese coffee The sandwich itself was pretty alright. The pickled vegetables seems fresh and were tasty. Beef cooked well, and you can kind of see them cook the meat in the back. The biggest strife I had with this sandwich though was how dripping wet it was after taking a few bites. A lot of juices came falling out onto the paper the banh mi was wrapped in. Other than that a good sandwich. One thing I would definitely not recommend however was the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It did not taste like your typical Vietnamese coffee at all and instead had a bitter coconut cream taste to it. My friend who had also ordered it was not a huge fan of the Vietnamese coffee but still was able to drink it. For me it just disappointed me so I threw it away. Still willing to come back to Toast Mi to try out other sandwiches and drinks since they're pretty close to where I am currently living, but there are definitely some ups and downs to their food and drinks. read more

Vietnamese iced coffee- this was pretty strong which was great, however don't expect it to taste at all like the typical Vietnamese iced coffee you'd get at the Vietnamese restaurants in international district. I ordered the grilled pork bowl- this was honestly pretty boring. The grilled pork had barely any flavor (not enough dank), the pickled veggies were not pickled enough, the aioli sauce did not slap... Nothing in the bowl made me want to go back again.
