I ordered from here a week or two ago and let's just say I got some extra bonuses in my food. In my salad I found several little pieces of plastic. I also found the little white sticker they put on food buried in my gyro. Not sure if that was from the lettuce or the chicken, but it was there and luckily I found it before I ate it. Long story short, I'm sure this is not common here, and before I found these various goodies, the food wasn't that bad, but it's enough to keep me from ordering from there again and I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

First time ordering. They were very busy as I was put on hold for about 5 minutes only to be disconnected(after painfully listening to their hold music). Called back and was on hold very briefly. Ordered a few things - one of which was pork gyro platter.. it was very fatty and not very good. Certainly disappointing. Everything else was very good. Gyro on pita was great, tzaziki was very good. It's this little storefront by a train station that we passed for months. I noticed a sign that they made Gyros and thought maybe try that place someday. We were in a lunch rut and decided to give it a go. And what a pleasant surprise. The food in this little hole in the wall is Amazing. Awesome Gyros and platters. Tried this place because of a recommendation and it wasn't too far from the bf. I got the pork gyro thinking I could handle a little bit of grease despite previous yelpers reviews. I was not expecting it to be so greasy that it was soaking through the bag. The bf got the pork souvlaki and the pieces were hard. It might not have been so bad if it weren't for the grease but it didn't make me come back. read more

Brutal honesty.....this used to be one of my favorite restaurants before they got too big for their own good. Everything used to be fresh and made with care now everything is just thrown in a bag to get it out the door. Walked in Friday at 7. It took 20 minutes to order and another 40 to get the simple order of a couple of sandwiches and salads. Salads were meh. Average. -Chix gyro very good, pita was ok as per the spouse. Check your order when you pick up as there were at least 6 people who came in claiming their orders were screwed up. Not going back! I called and pick up time was very quick. My chicken was just pieces of diced up dark chicken meat. I'm used to whole chicken breast cut up and big servings. The chicken pieces were thin spaghetti shapes. Then my salad plate wasn't even full. Second visit here was much better. Last time I had the pork gyro which was way to fatty. Today had the chicken and beef gyro. Side salad and everything was very good. Feel much better after my 2nd visit. Great value and fresh food. read more

Ordered here for delivery. Pretty good Beef/Lamb Gyro platter. Rice was tasty - didn't need the peppers however. The salad was good as well - typical Greek. The take out containers were kind of a hassle as they leaked through and I felt I was eating Chinese food. Delivery took 40 minutes. Tahini sauce was good. Overall a decent place to eat. read more

This couldn't be a more convenient location for working parents who are looking to pick up a quick relatively healthy meal for the family. So many restaurants fail in this town and I really hope these guys do well. Food is always fresh. Definitely better than any Greek diner. Unlike a diner they have a limited menu which allows them specialize in just a few dishes. I have been there 4 times and I find the Gyros to be very tasty yet not heavy (not greasy). It is a bit pricey for a small take out place, but I guess you get what you pay for. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First, I would be hesitant to characterize their "chicken" souvlaki as chicken, it was absolutely disgusting. Second, they didn't put dressing on our salad, or put the dressing on the side. Third, their pork is chewy and dry. The only thing that was half-way decent was their pita and tzaiki, but with the name "Pita Station" I guess you can't screw that up. My friend characterized this place as a "hit or miss," but I would more aptly characterize their food as an air ball. Save yourself the trouble and go to Wild Fig, or even Nitalis Grill, both are way better than this joke of a place. read more

Ordered online last night. One hour passed, and the order had not arrived (not really unusual for them, so I was aware of this, but it was getting late). Just as I picked up my phone to inquire, they called me. Their online ordering system was 'down' according to them, and they had just received my order. This was the second time this has happened, but I believe that mistakes happen and always give second, third and even fourth chances. It appears as if they do not regularly check their online system, which is a shame. The person who called me did not give his name and gruffly asked if I still wanted my order (I did, it was almost 9pm and everyone was very hungry)...He then said I "had to" give him until 9:15 (30 more minutes). I was somewhat surprised that he did not offer to take anything off of my $60 bill to make this right, since this was totally and completely their fault and we are repeat customers. He did not even apologize. Oh well. The food was just ok. Looked like it was sloppily slapped together in a hurry and tasted such. One of the containers was not even closed when it arrived. The item we were most looking forward to was the poutine fries. There was a scant amount of cheese, and no gravy on either order. I did not feel like calling them at 9:45pm to discuss this, after they clearly did not care about making their first mistake right. Their system was not down, give me a break. I received order confirmations via email. The customer should not be expected to decipher the quirks of their system. Disappointment number two for this particular experience. I really wanted them to succeed as we need options in Glen Head other than pizza and Chinese. They have opened another location, and do not seem to care as much about this location. I even stuck with them after they switched to 'environmentally friendly' containers, which obviously hold smaller servings than the previous containers at the same price. I hope that they will be able to get their act together, however, we will not be back. read more

Came back to this place after having a bad experience. The food was delicious the restaurant seems to have a heat issue, with 15 degree weather there should be no heat issues. I tried ordering take out at 2 they said there was no deliveries that day, fine, small inconvenience. I drove there and it was still just as cold as before but when I showed up to order at 3ish they told me that they had no cashier so they couldn't take my order. Please avoid this place, the food is good but it seems to lack any management. I'm currently reporting this restaurant, this is by far the worst experience I've had in my 35yrs living in Glen head. read more

They're are a lot mixed reviews on this restaurant so my husband and I decided to try it out for ourself......I must say, it was delicious! After hearing about Pita Station on one of the local community Facebook pages, we decided to give it a try tonight. So glad we did! Everything we ordered was not only delicious, but better than any other place we have had in this area. We started with an order of spanikopita and the grilled haloumi cheese. Both were tasty and generous portions. Will definitely order again. My husband got the bifteki pita, our daughter had the lamb/beef pita and I had the chicken gyro pita. The chicken gyro was not the sliced chicken like I was used to. Instead it was made with small chunks/pieces of flavorful marinated chicken with blackened outer bits. It was 100 times better than what I have had in the past. I ordered mine with the lemon herb sauce (in lieu of standard tzatziki) and it was outstanding. Seriously. Very nice to have another sauce choice for a change! My husband was raving about every bite of his bifteki and my daughter loved the lamb gyro. One important detail that I would change....the sandwiches were really messy because the sauce you select is automatically put on the sandwich. Easy solution....next time I will request that all sauces be on the side. Another interesting selection that we ordered were the poutine fries. I have never seen poutine on a menu here in the US. What a great idea! They were made with thick cut potatoes with the skin and coated with a rich gravy and cheese. It was a delicious and a welcomed change from the usual fries you get everywhere. After several visits, I've given up giving The Pita Station the benefit of the doubt. No matter how many replies the owners give, the service remains the same. Lackluster service, wrong orders, gruff employees, and no satisfaction. This last time, when I asked to speak with the manager to show him the hair in my food, I was treated VERY disrespectfully and denied the opportunity to speak with ANY manager.
