I wasn't impressed. I traveled almost 4hrs to eat here. I ordered salmon she brings out catfish. The waitress wasn't paying attention because it was her birthday. The original owners would be ashamed. The macaroni wasn't bake but some cheese sauce. The catfish was fresh but lackluster. It was ok. For you to have a giant azz mural the restaurant lacked soul.

If you are from the south this food is just ok compared to true southern food. My food arrived barely warm as if it had been sitting out. The staff seems really nice except for the waitress we had, she acted as if she was annoyed by us being there (it was her birthday and she was running around the whole time we were there telling everyone), never bothered to refill our drinks, not friendly at all, but the other staff I noticed were very friendly. The restaurant is cool. The decor is nice. My husband said the last time he ate here it was wonderful I wasn't there to compare to this visit. The waitress killed the vibes.

Good old fashioned southern food! Everybody enjoyed their plate. It's a cool little spot. I love all the Allman Brothers memorabilia and the mural outside. The service was excellent. Everybody was super friendly. I just wish they hadn't been out of the brisket! Guess I'll have to come back sometime.

Truly ashamed to say we've lived in Macon 3 years and this was our first time eating at H & H. My pregnancy cravings put me on the hunt for biscuits and gravy and I am soooo glad that hunt lead me here. WOW. This is GOOD food & great people! A nice corner restaurant with a at home feel, truly a gem. Thankfully the day we went wasn't busy so we took our time going over the menu and asking for recommendations. Having an uncle Red Dog myself, my husband knew immediately what meal he will be ordering. I on the other hand was torn after I saw they had salmon patties. Obviously I had to try both the patties and my biscuits and gravy. They were amazing!!!! No regrets. Our daughter had a kids meal, nice portions. We will returning here. Such a great experience & an amazing nap once I was home LOL

This was some of the best food I've had! Our server, Kiki, was absolutely amazing! We actually tried to go back the next day, but couldn't wait in line. (It was close to an hour wait the first day. Absolutely worth it!) I got the brisket hash breakfast and my husband got the Chank. If you get a chance, I strongly encourage you to go!

Great soul food joint in downtown Macon. It was packed Saturday morning, mostly family groups. Easy parking with a lot right out back. The smoked Turkey was very tender and flavorful. Whiting fish solid and fresh. Collards got a kick to it, I devoured 2 portions all by myself.

Everything was outstanding from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Terrence, the food was delicious. Everything was good. The price is just right. I love this place such a southern gem , being a city sleeker I really appreciate this place I will definitely be coming back

So this is a down home diner. We arrived @10am on a Sunday and there were no open tables. The place was packed with a broad mix of folks. Turnover was fast though. Waitress arrived quickly as did the coffee. We were lucky on timing bc when we left there were people qued up outside. Good strong coffee. Offer coffee to go if you want it. Great service and friendly. They have parking lot next to them on corner for about 12 cars. We had the brisket hash and Bisquits and gravy with an egg added. Both were delicious. Light, fluffy Bisquits. Good gravy and plenty of it. Eggs properly cooked. The brisket hash - a fee pieces over cooked, but generally well prepared. Good cook on potatoes, onions and peppers. Huge portions. I took half of my hash home. Really hit the spot.

    Let's eat!

When in Macon, you must visit this place if you're wanting a great meal. I walked in, just me and was greeted kindly. The lady seated next to me suggested the pork chop. So I got that and some catfish and sides. Plus some fried green tomatoes. Those were so good. Everything was delicious and came out fast.

Amazing food. The waffles are delicious but the biscuits will bring me back! Love the customer service. The wait was worth it!

Best Biscuit Breakfast In Georgia that I have had. The service was great and the place was full of the music ghosts that made Macon great.

AN EXPERIENCE NOT JUST A MEAL…read more This place is located in a kind of seedy downtown area of Macon. We walked in and the vibe throughout the place won me over instantly. When the staff seem to enjoy their jobs and working with each other as well, chances are you have a winner. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth with floor to ceiling graffiti. The place just oozed character! We were told that at times in the loft above our heads they had live music FYI. The waitress was friendly and on point. We never found ourselves waiting to order or for drinks, etc. The food was great. We started with the solid gold soul rolls which were tasty. I'd say 2-3 people for this app. My wife had the hot pig and fig which she enjoyed. She wanted something a little light and it was perfect for her. I ordered the Dr John Burger. The cook forgot my bacon . No bueno. Our waitress was game and was quick to bring me bacon to complete the burger. It was well cooked and the flavors were excellent so all was good. Our companion enjoyed her food as well. We all left full and happy. And, yes I would return and I recommend trying them yourself.

We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were a great appetizer--crispy, flavorful, and a nice way to kick things off. For our entrées, we had the fish and chips and the smoked turkey sandwich. The fish had a nice crispy batter, and the smoked turkey sandwich was tasty and satisfying. My only disappointment was the fries. They were a bit soggy and lacked the crispiness I was hoping for, especially with the fish and chips. A crisp, hot fry would have taken the meal to the next level. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

And, despite opening later than listed (11:10/15 vs 11:00), the food was worth waiting for. Now, my friend had planned on getting the Tamale plate, but they had taken it off the menu, as the person who made them, passed away. :-( So, we both ordered a traditional Cuban sandwich! And, I must say, it's the best Cuban sandwich that I've ever had (10 Stars)!! And, a first where they used chopped beef. I also ordered to go, Carnitas - Cuban style for tonight's dinner. But , they didn't open as posted, are no longer serving Tamales (though, a large order {2-3 dozen} can be placed 2 weeks ahead of the needed time), and the Chips and Salsa are ala cart. Even though we had to wait, a waitress was kind enough to step around the corner to let us know that they were open. And, the owner chatted with us for several minutes. Cuban style Pork Carnitas, with Rice, Cuban Black Beans, Fried Plantains, and Cooked Yucca Dinner: WOW!!! Though, I still had had the Cooked Yucca, everything was excellent! The only way it could have been better, is to have some Cuban bread. While I don't know when I'll be able to get here again, I definitely want to try their other dishes.
