Horrible customer service I purchased a sweater for family portrait for Christmas and by all means they left the sensor on my sweater so on Christmas day I wasn't able to wear my outfit I came into the store and I told them I would like to return the item and the manager told me that on the designer items there's a gap is 7 days which was not told to me when I purchased the item which I really wanted to wear I couldn't because of their unprofessional way of selling their product. After damn refusing to return the item dating even offer me store credit they brushed me away and I told him that I will be yelping them and posting pictures on how they even sell their items I think it's silly that their alarm didn't even turn on for them to realize the sensor still attached unfortunately this place has gone to shit because of their poor customer service and sales associates be aware do not shop at this place during holidays they're very irresponsible they hire staff there are children!!! Yeah, it's a mess. In fact, I can't recall an H&M I've been do that hasn't been a mess. The employees do their best I know, because I always see them on the floor straightening up. It's us customers that are the wildebeests! We need to calm down! What is it about shopping that turns seemingly civilized women into crazies?! This location is great... It's located in a beautiful square of shops, right next to the fountain. It is a large store with a lot of selection. The fitting room never really has a wait, though I wish I could say the same about the checkout line. Oof. All in all, I like this location. read more

Yay! I've found another place that sells cute but inexpensive clothing that has higher-quality clothes than what's offered at Old Navy, NY & Co, etc. Clothes from H&M are always featured on magazines like People StyleWatch and InStyle, so I've been wanting to check one out. I'm glad there's one at the Americana. It was kind of difficult trying to figure out what sizes to buy because as another reviewer mentioned, the sizes tend to run small here. But they seemed to carry every size from 0 to 16. There are lots of dressing rooms, and I was in and out quickly, even on a busy Sunday afternoon. I'll be back! read more

Two stars only for size of the store and affordability of the clothes. I can handle a chaotic messy store, filled with tons of people and clothes kind of littered about. What I can't stand is employees doing absolutely nothing to control crowds, as if it's not part of their job description to give good customer service. The employees working the registers have Z E R O sense of urgency when comes to ringing up customers. They're slow as sloths when scanning items and have either no emotion or utter misery plastered on their face as they do so. I don't need a sugary sweet associate feeding me lines, but a smile and quick ring up wouldn't kill you, Jesus. Also, I don't understand the line for the registers for downstairs? They place racks of clothes as lines for the registers (just anther excuse to shove more clothes onto the floor with no regard for idk SAFETY) but people usually huddle into one line because a) their intent is not clear and b) there's usually only like 2 registers open out of their five. This then makes the line super long and curve around, blocking the walkway for shoppers and employees. It just complete misery. The fitting room employees aren't bags of sunshine either. I get reminding shoppers to place clothing back on the hangers, but there's no reason to speak to customers like they're children or just pissing you off by being there. The only redeeming factor to this store is how affordable their clothes are and the amount of stuff they've got here. read more

In my last 2 trips here, my opinion has Changed drastically. When h&m first popped up I caught on to the craze but about 4 years ago I really fell off after a few bad experiences. But recently something has changed. Every single employee was pleasant to deal with. I think that's the only factor in determining where to shop for clothing. read more

Every time I fly/drive back to L.A. for a visit, a trip to H&M is usually a huge part of the reason why. It usually goes, in order of importance: 1. Eat mexican food 2. Hang in Toluca Lake 3. Go to H&M 4. See friends 5. Eat mexican food 6. See family (if time allows) Their merchandise trumps the XXI's 'ready-to-wear...once' brand of clothing and they carry and actually have in stock, a good range of size-small men's items. Plus, I get to ooh and ahh over all the narrow-cut men's suits that I can't afford nor do I need until I get a job that requires such clothing....like a real job. They lose a star for my having to suffer through 3,291 teenagers with their rapidly texting fingers between where I parked and the store entry. read more

Best H&M for men's underwear I've ever seen!!! The undies selection is huge compare to the other H&M I've been to. So many patterns and sizes. I get excited just thinking about this store. Clothing-wise, it seems similar to other H&M stores in terms of options, availability, and variety. read more

I went right before Christmas and at first I was dreading my trip. As I entered the store, I saw the massive line winding through the first level of the store. I really only had one gift to buy so I was half hoping to not find it if just to avoid the line. I had to buy a gift for a child so I headed upstairs which was surprisingly empty. I managed to find my gift and as I was prepping myself to stand in a lengthy line I happened to look over and saw a cash register on the 2nd floor with only 3 people in line. I was able to quickly get in and get out in 20 minutes! I was extremely happy! Regardless of wait, I know I'll be back. I like this location of H&M. I often find that the H&M at the Beverly Center & Century City mall run out of common sizes quickly. This means that by the time I'm done w/ work, fed my cat & dog, paid my bills, & remember to buy a little thing called clothing, I'm left w/ a size 00 or a size 14 -_- The H&M in Arcadia & Pasadena simply aren't big which usually means less variety. This location has ample space AND quite the variety. Parking at the Americana is usually not a problem on weekdays before 5pm. There was 1 salesperson near the dressing room & 2 at the cashier. This did not impede my mission for a new dress shirt for work in any way b/c it was not horribly busy. I was able to find the same style of dress shirt I wanted in two colors. I tried one on & asked for the salesgirl's opinion on whether the top button holes were supposed to be closed. (Having those closed button holes made me second-guess my fashion sense & wonder if I lived in a fashion-less world). I once tried on a tube top as a miniskirt. Whoops. My fears were soon allayed when the salesgirl told me that the factory churns out so many shirts that sometimes the shirts or blazers come w/ closed button holes which means the customers do it themselves at home. I don't mind doing that as long as this has been explained to me. After asking for a 2nd opinion on how the dress shirt fit, I made my purchase. I was able to score a dress shirt $12.95 for around $14 total w/ tax in less than half an hour. What more could a girl ask for? read more

The thing I hate about places like these are that you don't know who's an employee and who's a customer. I had to wait for someone to ring me up in front of the register for a good 5 minutes until a manager training new hires noticed me and called out for someone else to come. My mentality for H&M is: If it's over $20, don't buy it. The only thing great about this place is the brandless, designless, comfortable basic clothing. I only buy 2 types of clothes from here: the basic $19.95 sweaters, and the basic $12.95 fine cotton stretch polos. After 2-3 months, wear and tear is guaranteed to show. I'll be back though. their clothes are just too comfortable for me to stay away, even if the qualitiy is as cheap as toys from the 99 cents store. read more

Clothes are a matter of style/taste so see for yourself if you like their items but be forewarned that the service here sucks the big one. If you like their clothes there is a much bigger selection than the Arcadia store (which is a plus) but if I wanted attitude from people half my age I would hang out with my teenage nephews and save myself the hassle of dealing with parking that they don't validate. Hey asshat, if I'm spending big money at your store the least you could do is pay the $2 for my damn parking so I can actually get to your store. Quality of clothes is a bit below average but you get what you pay for. Most of the stuff is ultra trendy so you probably won't be hanging on to it past next season anyway. Sizing tends to run a bit small but I think they might be sizing their items for juniors. I wear a 10/12 (misses) and I often have to get a 12/14. read more

Called and asked if they had a specific blue hoodie. Gave the product number. This process takes 7 minutes. They say call back in 20. I do. Another person answers (the first person refused to give their name), I ask about the hoodie by number, they put it on hold for me. I go to the store, ask for it, nobody knows what I mean. After 10 minutes, they finally find it. It's the wrong color. The old color was out of stock. I should've sucked it up and paid the $7 to buy online but I wanted to upcycle my old hoodie. I can understand how the customer service can suck at this location. It's a big store and there's a lot for the associates to do. H&M is not an ordinary retail company. They actually make they're employees work hard for they're money. They always seem exhausted to me. I heard all the openers arrive between 6 and 7 in the morning! crazy right? & the closers don't leave until midnight on weekdays and 1am on weekends cleaning up the mess from the day. Mind you, some of them are quite rude. But not all of them. Actually I've found that most of the staff are quite friendly and knowledgeable. If you come in on a week day in the morning they seem to have lite coverage. so that's why the fitting room is empty. most of there staff are still in school and so mangers can't schedule everyone. All of the stores get shipment every morning so they have a lot to juggle during the day, it also explains all the clothes in the fitting room each morning. It's shipment. H&M is a European company, so the sizes run small automatically. I can't even fit they're jeans! But i love they're blouses and dresses. It does suck that they don't validate, but apparently the Americana give retailers the choice to offer validation and if they do it's an extra fee. besides I always park in the Galleria parking structure right next door it's free! I give this store a 3 they have a lot to work on, but they're pretty good too. Every store has that one rude person, but I'm sure you've been called rude before too, when you weren't trying to be. You never know they could be helping another customer when you approached them so they might be rushed or maybe they didn't hear you. I just try to not take things to heart. read more

I love this store!! Went shopping there About a day ago and they definitely stepped up their customer service! I was greeted multiple times by staff members. I went in looking for shorts and asked a young lady by the name of Alyssa who immediately dropped what she was doing to help me find exactly what I was looking for instead of telling me to wait till she was done. The fitting room attendant a young lady who called me hon a lot was really friendly and immediately acknowledged me when I entered and took my items and hung them neatly in the fitting room(most of the time I had to untangle hangers) when I asked her to help me out when I needed her opinion on the shorts I was trying on of which I had multiple selections thanx to Alyssa she gave me her honest opinion and didn't try to sell me on something that I would have ended up hating and returning. The checkout was quite fast although the wait in line was about 10 minutes (understandable because it was the middle of a busy Saturday) the cashier, I believe her name was Myra, greeted me and began quickly organizing my selections and ringing them up and I could actually keep a nice conversation with her. She actually acknowledged my presence instead of just ringing me up and forgetting I exist until she hands me my bag and says goodbye. I was there at the register for about 5 minutes and I was out of there with a smile! Even better one of the young gentlemen tending to one of the tables at the front actually thanked me and told me to have a good day! :D Love the change keep it upp!!!! read more

I heart H&M. Whenever I walk into a store, I turn into a huge clothes snob. If it's something I know I can make or print myself, I won't get it. I usually find myself walking through an H&M asking myself, "Wow, how can they only charge this much?" Compared to Forever 21, H&M's quality stands alone. Plus, they have a better return policy. I purchased 2 dresses for $30. Bargain! I normally hate trendy areas like Americana, but I will have to admit that it's an adorable date place and it was a memorable one. read more

One star for a great accessories collection; another for enough fitting rooms to avoid tons of lines; another star for a men's collection; and another star for carrying swimsuits and lingerie! No fifth star, though, because the store was a little hard to manage on the 2nd floor and the items seems to be randomly assorted at times with no rhyme or reason. I love H&M. This store is perfect for the woman who wants a balance of classic and trend in her work wardrobe. I can buy a few trendy pieces here without breaking the bank or caring if it will be out of style next year. But I can balance that by buying simple pieces that are more classic in decent fabrics that actually wear pretty well for the price. Alas, I have outgrown Forever 21, and this fills that niche in my life perfectly. It is always a treat to stop by the Americana, have a stroll, do some window shopping, then plow through H&M trying on 35 things and buying 5. Disheveled and disorganized. Wedged uncomfortably together, the racks seemed sad and junky. After sifting through looking for something cute, I had a few items to try on and headed to the dressing room, which was a complete disaster. Tons of racks of clothes piled, hung and dumped everywhere blocking your entry. No attendant was on duty when I first entered. People were wandering in and out of dressing rooms at will to try things on and then dump their load on the counter on their way out. As I left, a salesclerk finally appeared, harping on patrons for not waiting on her to place a number on the door. It just felt sad and disorganized here. If you've seen one H&M, you've seen them all. That's all there is to it. It's well-lit, colorful, and pretty much carries every little accessory/outfit you could possibly think of. The store has ample square footage so everything is nicely spaced out. When I came by here, it was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't busy. The best time to venture out here to beat the crowds is midweek from morning to late afternoon/evening. Note: This location carries both women AND MEN clothing, so venturing out to Topanga, the Beverly Center, and Santa Anita are a thing of the past for you gentlemen out there. read more

I love clean and new stores! Although H&M is not a truly "new store" to the LA crowd, the Glendale branch was! Located within the new Americana complex, this store is walking distance from the Galleria and various restaurants and movie theaters on Brand Blvd. I'm glad I don't have to go to Santa Anita or Beverly Hills to shop at this store. It was a good idea for Glendale to open one here! The store itself is similar to the other branches. It includes both men/women clothing as well as accessories. I went during the opening of Americana so it was very crowded. I even stood in line for a free gift card but I didn't receive one. I guess I wasn't one of the first 250 guests! The fitting rooms can get very busy during peak times (weekdays/weeknights). If you live close by and have the time, try to come on the weekday. I would wait a couple weeks after the hype at the Americana dies down too. Unfortunately, I walked out empty handed. I would have bought something if the line for the fitting room wasn't long. read more

The store is relatively clean. The second floor just feels really warm inside on a hot day. Employees at the fitting room was very attentive and friendly. They have a good selection of sizes in clothing but bummed that their shoes didn't have that many options of sizes to pick from. I bought 2 suits and a couple of dress shirts. I love H&M so I always try to find a good sized store that has a wide selection and doesn't look like an after match on a saturday afternoon. Unfortunately most stores in LA have that problem- this place not as much! They have a great men's selection too. People in Glendale are just civil and this location isn't crazy busy, so you pretty much find what you need in your size. It doesn't hurt to be able to step outside, weep from a magnificently orchestrated fountain performance, relax with local families on the grass or grab a bite at Katsuya across from it. We are absolutely in love with the Americana overall so it's no surprise we come here for a relaxed shopping/ human connections experience. The best part: parking is FREE!! read more

This H&M is huge and has pretty much all the departments that H&M carries (divided, kids, babies, maternity, all the trend stuff, whatever), so it's great for that. It's also close to the concierge/parking, close to the galleria parking garage and the galleria cross-walk ...but it's also: 1) always messy (unless you shop right when it opens) 2) always a line (unless you shop right when it opens) or can find a person upstairs to take you at the register real quick 3) the line always takes forever..for e v errrr i feel like a lot of "tourists" shop here, and that's why they buy 30 things at once...but maybe that's just how much some people like shopping @ h&m the quality of clothing is hit-or-miss, it's fast fashion and i've been shopping at h&m since..2001 (carousel mall, syr, ny). I think h&m used to be a bit better..before it exploded. sizing is usually available here, because they have so much stuff. but it's hard to find stuff cuz everything is overflowing on the racks or just a big ol mess. the music is super loud, and the sizes in babies/kids clothing always disappear, fast...so if you see something you like, get it...and return it later if you change your mind (unworn, with tags attached and the receipt--don't be a sleazy) they don't validate but if you're just going to h&m, you can go in n out in under an hour, otherwise, wetzel's pretzels, b&n, and beard papa's all validate for minimal purchase (soda, magazine) read more

A total cluster fuck on Saturday, very comically, pretty much EVERYBODY IN THE STORE HAD HALF THEIR HEADS SHAVED, but in the end, we found a suit for El Senor Picky (remember him?) that fit like a dream. Nobody said hello, nobody offered to help. You're on your own here, folks. Also, we were overcharged (rung up for two blazers instead of pants, blazer and tie) so do check your receipts. Yoinks.
