Bun Bo hue. Mango salad and Thai iced tea
Sarah T.

Straight up this is the best, solid and consistent viet food I've had in Vancouver so far. I have yet to check out the viet restaurants in little Saigon but we love that this spot opens later, not too far of a drive for us and has solid viet food. Had the pho, bun bo hue, mango salad and Thai iced tea -- 10/10

Had to give it a 1 star since the waitress put a container of boiling hot water on the table without explaining to us what's the usage of it. And also didn't tell it was boiling hot water. Completely burn myself and now have several blisters. Train your staff. This is not ok.

We were in the area and stopped by for dinner. We were seated right away. Menus and tea were dropped off. I ordered a platter and it was more than enough food for me. I ended up packing half of it home for a meal the next day. The flavours of the skewers and spring rolls were good. I liked their presentation as well. Lastly, service was great. We got our food fairly quickly. Prices were average.

Decided to try H&P Noodle House, which offers a mix of Vietnamese and Thai dishes. They're across the street from Chad Thai. Their original location is out in Coquitlam. We dropped in on a Tuesday evening (8:00pm). Booths are tight and cramped. - Crispy shrimp spring rolls (A2) ($8.50) - tiny. Would not order again. - Tomato crab noodle soup (SO8) ($16.50) - bad sign with shredded iceberg lettuce. Broth lacked depth and complexity. A sad bowl of bun rieu. - House special satay pho (P2) ($14.50 regular) - not a true satay broth but serviceable. Beef slices were overcooked. - Basil thai spicy noodle (T6) ($16.50) - standard. Nothing particularly unique at H&P. Maybe the Thai dishes are better.

Looks like Thai's Saigon Bistro has died off and turned into yet another pho place. Parking is available along Hastings. The place is mostly white with brown accents and green booths. Rather interesting paint scheme. Guess they're going for the forest look. Staff (1 guy) was friendly. He looked bored though. Poor guy. I had the house traditional pho. The large bowl honestly isn't that much bigger than the regular bowl. Meat chunks were tasty. Broth is quite flavourful and darker than other places. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point, though there is quite a bit of competition in the immediate vicinity.

My husband and I went out for lunch at H&P Noodle House in North Burnaby. They serve an interesting combination of both Thai and Vietnamese food. My husband had the Spicy Hue-Style Noodle Soup while I had the Pineapple Curry and a Strawberry Mint Lemonade. Spicy Hue-Style Noodle Soup: My husband loved this dish. The toppings were generous. He loved how the beef slices were thicker than the standard slices of beef that are usually used in bowls of Pho. The thinner slices have a tendency to become overcooked. These thicker slices were neither undercooked or overcooked, and were tender to eat. Pineapple Curry: I'm not sure I've ever seen Pineapple Curry on a Thai menu before. It's a rare offering if not unique to H&P Noodle House. This dish was wonderful. It had pineapple and assorted vegetables including a generous amount of Eggplant which happens to be one of my all time absolute favourite vegetables in the world! The curry sauce was sweet and mildly spicy. Strawberry Mint Lemonade: Sweet with bits of strawberry dispersed throughout the drink. I would have preferred a stronger taste of mint in it. Service: Good Parking: Free parking on Hastings St. There's also a fairly large (and free) parking lot behind the restaurant on MacDonald Ave. Location: On Hastings St. between MacDonald Ave. and Gilmore Ave.

Lovely restaurant interior and wish I stayed to dine in instead of picking up a takeout order. The service upon pickup was super friendly and we got a free Viet coffee with our purchase! The pho was super tasty and had a big portion with a good amount of meat and noodles! Highly recommend!

Surprised by the flavour in the noodle soup. The Fish cake noodle is lighter and Tomato crab noodle has strong flavour in the soup. Both are very good. We also had the vermicelli platter which came in nice presentation. It was fun to assemble the spring rolls on our own. Beef Pho is not as good as the other restaurants specializing on pho.

Not a bad pho place around the area. We tried their version of crab and fish soup noodle and we quite like it. It wasn't 1:1 to another super popular restaurant on Victoria, but it is good enough! The bonus is that the fish noodle soup actually came with a large piece of fish fillet. The plave is kind of cutely decorated, and the prices didn't reflect the added decor - Win! Their alcohol drinks are not that expensive either, it's rather tasty than boozy. Their iced coffee isn't that great though as it was delivered all mixed already and wasn't delivered in a drip phin. Parking is plenty on Hastings and on the City of Burnaby parking lot at the back of the store. Overall, I would recommend this place.

AMAZING! I'm shock how good it actually was. I've heard a lot about it from friends but passing by every time didn't interest me as it looks like a very average place but MY GOODNESS I'm glad I gave it a shot because it's now one of my top 2 Thai/Vietnamese restaurant. Lots of selections for food and very good portion. Reasonable prices and SO DELICIOUS! Every single dish was delicious and I didn't want to leave even though I was so incredibly full already. The moment I stepped out, I wanted to go back already. A hidden gem and sad that there's some reviews that just don't add up to my experience and the experiences my friends have had, and my friends frequent there. HIGHLY recommended and I'm so going back as soon as I can.

H&P has been in my neighbourhood for sometime and I can't believe it's taken me so long to try it out. Decor is modern and inviting. They have Vietnamese and Thai dishes and we were craving Vietnamese. The portions are quite generous. We shared the chicken spring rolls to start and the filling was delicious. The rice wrapper was also perfectly fried. I ordered the tomato crab soup and my partner ordered the beef balls and rare beef pho (large). Satisfied our cravings. Will definitely go back and try some of the other dishes.

Dinner at H&P Noodle House. Signature Platter Tomato crab Soup Good food with lots of leftover for 2 people. For a weeknight, there's lots of people in the restaurant having dinner.

I had the #1 House Special (Rice Noodle Soup With Rare Steak, Brisket, Fatty Flank, Tendon, Tripe and Beef) and my friend had the Vermicelli Noodle bowl of Lemon Grass Chicken with Minced Pork-the chicken was moist and tender and enjoyed a lot. Really lame vegetarian pho -- this is what my review is based on…read more I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday after noticing they had a vegetarian pho ($14.50 for a small; $15.50 for a large). It does not come with tofu, so I added some (another $4!) to my small size. The pho came out in less than 10 minutes. The pho came with lots of veggies (lots of broccoli, plus cauliflower, carrot, celery, white onion and green onion), plus lots of rice noodles, and tofu. Of course, the broth is usually what makes or breaks a pho, and this was one of the most low-effort, lamest vegetable broths I've tried in Greater Vancouver (and I've tried over 90 pho places in the Metro area that have veggie pho options). In fact, I saw the woman fill up my pho bowl from the hot water dispenser. So, they don't even bother to have a proper veggie broth; they just base the broth on hot water, with maybe some salt and possibly some other spices? The broth tasted like barely salted water. Super lame. Embarrassing product to serve. The value is bad given the very lame quality. I like that they have a veggie pho option. The portion is big and you get lots of vegetables, though the lack of tofu is definitely a thumbs down given the already above average price for the pho. All in all, don't come here for veggie pho. 2 stars is very generous.
