While in town I had dinner here solo. Sitting at the bar I had the pleasure of two very attentive bartenders who were happy to serve. The menu doesn't make it easy to choose as it is packed with an assortment of apps and entrees that are guaranteed to please. And they delivered! The oysters were perfect and my steak was incredible! Thank you, NYP, for teaching me that the way I like a steak, with a HEAVY char, has a name: "Pittsburgh-style". My life has been changed. They cooked it to perfection that left me wanting to lick the plate! (we'll look past the name and steak-style that conflict, okay?!) As I walk in the aesthetic of the place is very dim but it fits very nicely. The waiter was very nice and kind and served us with some sparkling water. The menu looks very nice but the letters are very small so for the people with bas vision you might nit be able to read the menu. The look again was very nice looking, the tree was especially pleasing. Next, the music choices were good nothing too much to talk about there. The chairs were very comfortable as-well. The place was very quiet compared to other places. The food I got was the petit filet, and the loaded baked potato. The bread I received was spicy and normal, the bread was good, but I was hoping it would be warm, just a personal preference (not a big deal. Now, the waiter is coming out with the food and the baked potato looks especially delicious. I get the food and first thing I taste is the Filet and it's perfect. It's nice and buttery which I love. Next up is the baked potato, it's incredibly fluffy and delicious and it was so much good food I couldn't even finish it all. New York Prime is a longstanding steakhouse in the Atlanta area and continues to hold its own. We visited Valentine's Day weekend, and as expected, it was packed. We did have to wait about 30-40 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, but given the holiday rush, that was pretty much par for the course. To start, we ordered red wine and a Hugo spritz, along with the Caesar salad, shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, and crab cakes. The standout for me was definitely the crab cakes, mostly lump crab meat, just as they should be. For dessert, I received a birthday treat: a warm cookie with a scoop of ice cream, plus chocolate-covered strawberries in honor of Valentine's Day. A very nice touch. Spent our wedding anniversary here. First off, I wish they had a New York Prime in Houston. Food was 10/10 and very filling. I'm really sad I didn't take more pictures because this restaurant deserved them. This was easily a top 5 steakhouse that I have ever experienced. Now I will note the ambience will not "blow you away," but the food and service is every bit and more what you expect from a fine dining restaurant. I went with the 8oz filet which was perfectly cooked medium well. Our sides included creamed spinach and fettuccine Alfredo, the layer of which we were amazed and glad we could get that as a side it fulfilled our desire to have steak and pasta. I don't know who the chef was last night but this has been the best dinner we've had in a while. We alwayssss have to start off with the seafood bisque whoever invented this bisque is a genius. It soooooo good that I just want to eat it all in one sitting. It's creamy thick and full of seafood so if can be very filling. I have tried this sea bass sooo many times but last night something was different it was so buttery flaky and the crunchy garlic on top was the cherry on top. My hubby and I were in town for a Hawks game. He loves a good steakhouse and this was within walking distance of our hotel. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated immediately. Our server was a young man who was a college student and he was extremely helpful with questions about the menu. The restaurant was very intimate and great for couples. Our food arrived and it looked amazing. And fortunately, it tasted even better than it looked. We started with the crab cakes and OMG....the mustard sauce made the dish! The hostess did an excellent job confirming my reservation and accommodating an additional seat when we arrived with an extra guest. When our entrées arrived, we realized there were no forks on the table, and our server had already stepped away. As we attempted to get another waiter's attention, he deliberately ignored us multiple times, presumably because we were not his table. After several attempts, he finally came over and provided the utensils so we could eat our food before it became cold. The interaction was uncomfortable; while I understand we were not his assigned guests, ignoring a customer for that reason is unacceptable especially when the request was as simple as providing utensils. I enjoyed a romantic birthday meal here and the service and ambiance was wonderful. Pros: the crab cake was good- no filler. I am originally from DC so it's hard for me to find good seafood in GA. The steaks were good. I had the center cut filet and my partner had the NY strip. Con's: I do think their style of preparation is probably best for steaks with more fat. I ordered the filet and it was a little dry and unevenly cooked. As you can see in the picture one side of it is well done and I ordered it medium. The garlic spinach side was also ok. Excellent from beginning to end. From the moment I arrived to grab a drink at the bar, Cliff took great care of me and my guests. As we transitioned to dinner, Lucas took great care of us thru dinner. We were there to celebrate my brother's birthday as it was his first time patronizing NY prime. He's a steak guy and loved the Pittsburgh style tomahawk and bone in ribeye that we ordered. Top of his list now of favorite steaks in Atlanta now. The steak was cooked to perfect temperature and the sides, mushrooms and Brussel sprouts were spot on as well. We also ordered several desserts to cap the evening. Came here for a dinner with a party of 5 during a trip to Buckhead. I went with the chateauneuf du pape, and it was excellent. Started with a salad that included candied pecans, cheese, and raisins. I thought this was solid. I went with the petit filet (8oz), Philly style (charred outside and rare inside). I thought it was quite charred on the outside. It was too bitter for my preference. We forget but he was quick to get us a steak knife so that we could cut it without any issues. Flavor was fantastic and not overly salty. We both ordered drinks, but I can't remember the name of them but they were refreshing and helped prepare us for the bread service and our entrees. For entrees, we ordered the garlic chicken and the Delmonico steak which were both cooked to perfection. Normally, I go for a steak but the garlic chicken was definitely a palette pleaser. Juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. It was actually the highlight of the evening. For sides, we opted for the broccolini and the praline sweet potatoes which were topped with marshmallows. I should have mentioned this earlier in the review, our server was Jake and I would recommend him as a young man who has customer service down and serves as if he has been in the business forever. We came here in August for my boyfriend's birthday. Our car was left with valet and we went in to a pretty full restaurant for a Thursday night. The servers were great and very attentive. No problems with service at all. They placed a complimentary assortment of bread on the table and they were all pretty great. There was one in particular that reminded me of a cinnamon stick or something. It was really great and I love cinnamon. The charred Brussel sprouts were a little bit too charred for me. I like my Brussel sprouts a little less burnt. The cheese mashed potatoes were really good and tasty. The 8oz petite filet was cooked to a perfect medium, until I realized it was too pink and I asked them to give me medium well. They helped me realize I'm a medium well girl. My boyfriend had the bone-in 22oz ribeye medium rare. Despite it being medium rare, I did take a bite and thoroughly enjoyed the burst of flavor as it filled my mouth. Service: We were met by a flexible staff who accommodated our large party for a late night dinner. Initially, they were going to seat us at two different tables. I decided to patronize this restaurant on Saturday and I'm glad that I experienced it. I did like how they had the lobster on display where they rode around with it. I thought that was so creative. I did enjoy the service. I feel like everyone was very professional and knowledgeable when it came to what they were offering the ambience was really dark. Definitely recommend flashlight. We tried to move the candle close to us so we can see but flashlight is needed When it comes to the food. I think they add a little bit too much salt for my liking noticed that on the potato, it was salt all over the top. I noticed that when I bit into my oysters, I kept on tasting the salt as well. I'm not really a complainer so I didn't wanna say anything, but they noticed and I spoke up and said something and what they just charged me for two instead of the other two if you're a stock pricing, you might really enjoy.
