Seems like people getting food stamps will always go at the same time and go to the same store. It causes a ruckus cause the checkout lines are long. Sometimes there are not enough check out employees. Have to wait a long time. It reminds me of Walmart. I just like going early in the morning when there is less customers. She did not honor that coupon and when asked if I could speak to customer service to get it figured out she said "I am that person" in a condescending tone. Well if your wanting to go to a HEB get in and out this isn't the place. The selection on Meats is horrible. The ground meat is all fat to the point it looked like it was almost white. The mangers are so bad words can't describe it. I just had it out with a manager that has no business being one. That I've talked to there corporate office about. Extremely rude. I drive by this location twice a day 5 days a week. I will never go into this location. Last time it was crowd and overwhelming. I think the shopping center has gone downhill. The parking lot is nightmare. I don't even get gas. I don't feel safe. I would like the parking lot remodel. Refresh the landscape add trees and xeriscape On site security Security on patrol. Work with the community and police to improve the area. issues like Panhandling. Community of homeless. HEB could work with these people train them into HEB family. Have some community events. like Health have stations set up. Check blood pressure, vaccinations, well being for all ages, help individuals/families apply for health insurance, education on what is available in the area. What services that the location provides. Community event for kids. balloons, bounce houses, shaved ice, bike check up, car seat checkup, health insurance, services at that location, There are many cultures in that area. This place is ridiculous. After moving from one line where I was next in line they move me to a line where a customer is having an issue. They proceed to take 4 managers and two checkout people who were in the middle of scanning other customers, to stop and help the one customer in my line. I'm waiting for 5 minutes and they have yet to help her or me. I put my stuff in my cart and have to move to another one of the full lines. So now I'm at the back again, and by this time it's been 20 minutes since I was at the front of the last line. So I have to leave the line to take my ice cream back. I speak to the manager asking if they can help since they moved me 25 minutes ago and they get snippy. I eventually go stand in another line, after a 30 minute line experience and countless numbers of customers who have been served before me and left....some with ice cream. The managers see me in line and open a lane just for me apologizing and asking me over and over to go to the new lane. As if I'd I would move lines again for anything! I told them to just leave me alone. And another attendant came and apologized as I checked out. But at this point I had spent ten minutes getting all my groceries and it took 40 to check them out. I had the BEST experience using HEB curbside for the first Rome today. I placed the order in the other day, got up to date notices on the order and just parked, texted and groceries placed in trunk. I don't know if I'll ever go back into a store. Maybe not that extreme but I will 100% will be using this service again. I'm not sure what it usually is but right now if you do it a couple days in advance, with the option to add and take out of the cart up to 4 hours before pickup, it's FREE!!! read more

This is a smaller HEB. The lines can be painfully long so try to go late at night or before 9 am. The cashiers are usually friendly. I watch as things ring up and if there is a discrepancy they fix it with no fuss. There's a cell phone company and eyebrow threading/henna place in here too. read more

This is a review for the Curbside service during COVID-19. Despite the circumstances, HEB provided almost every item from my $100+ shopping cart. They provided substitutions that were almost identical to the items I intended to receive. I was in and out of the parking spot in under 5 minutes! I've been to three different HEB stores in the area for curbside and this location was the best by far. I'll try to go back to this one every time when there is a time slot available. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Sale prices don't ring up right, so watch the register! This HEB is ghetto and I hate shopping at this location. There's a 50/50 chance that the digital coupons don't work, and when you do notice that a coupon didn't work, they DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. They won't even honor it even if you bought the product. I've just had to put stuff back cause I only bought it to use the coupon. Items have also been on sale and they don't ring up with the right price. When I mention it at the register, the cashier either wastes 10 min of my time or doesn't do anything. Just honor the price! At customer service, they spent 20 min making sure the $1off coupon I had was still on the floor. If it's a dollar or two, JUST TAKE IT OFF AND MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER. JUST GO TO ALDI. Literally, EVERYTHING I bought there has rung up correctly, and their customer service is surprisingly excellent. I really wish they would expand. HEB is just not worth the hassle, is usually more expensive than Aldi, and the customer service stinks. read more

Somehow H-E-B on Wells Branch has made shopping a very stressful event, I just want to buy some food and get out of there. It seems to me the management is not training their employees properly to be respectful during this time of crisis. I know we are all trying to practice social distancing but some of the HEB workers have taken it to another level as if they are the coronavirus police. We all have to deal with this problem don't take the authority and abuse it. When HEB allows a sixteen-year-old employee to talk down to their adult customers that's the day I stop shopping at HEB all together. It doesn't matter exactly what occurred what does matter is the treatment I was given by the 16 year old kid by the name of Trey when all he had to do was speak to me correctly and it would have been a wash instead he chose to take the other route smiling in my face and saying have a good day sir with a smug look, right in front of Cecelia the manager who did nothing. I truly felt racially prejudiced and I know this is a big statement but that's how I felt as if this kid could do no wrong and was able to get away with anything on that shift. The only bright Mark was Bob one of the backhouse managers, made me feel better after speaking with him. I gave him that second star... thank you Bob. read more

Solid grocery store. Normal. Been going for a year and a half, at least twice a week; we live around the corner. Upsetting to see the people on these reviews saying, "And I know how this is going to sound but it get a little scary -- I personally would not go there after dark." But there is no anecdote or evidence to go with that. That's awful. You looked at the people, and you felt unsafe? Do I need to explain why that statement is terribly upsetting and says so much more about you than it does about the safety of the store? I have never seen an incident there, and I've never seen a police car there processing an incident. (I saw that plenty of times in my hometown of Washington DC when shopping in my neighborhood, and I agree that that is no fun.) And then others are tearing it down in reviews for the lack of "clean" and "organic" products. Here are actual quotes from a one star review: "You can tell that each grocery store caters to their max demographic...BUT this store does not cater to the Organic or Clean eater...if you want shit laden, GMO laden, fat fried and fat filled garbage, then 'this IS your HEB.'" I must be missing something. You don't have to buy Twinkies if you don't like them. Skip the cereal aisle. No Ball Park Franks or Boudin for you. I get it. You don't even have to buy Hill Country Fare. But, the HEB Organics brand is there. So is the Central Market brand. They have Boar's Head at the deli counter if FUD isn't your thing. And, for every fresh veggie, there's a yuppified packaged version that's already been washed and cut. The open produce is fresh and it's abundant. Baby boy choy? Seven different versions of packaged (and unpackaged!) baby spinach? More apple types than makes sense? Got that. Which hoighty-toighty "organic" foods aren't readily available there? Come on. Reality check, please. Finally, I see complaints about the staff. They are always polite. Unfailingly so. Often young. Always professional. Always courteous. They also make sure to hire people with special needs. Are some of these reviewers so tone-deaf that this is who they are criticizing? Everyone there is well trained. What am I missing? This isn't Zabar's. The staff are not there to bow at your feet. I implore you, please, please, please, if you read this and thought, "Ugh, can't believe he wrote that!," then do, by all means, stay away from this HEB. It's not for you. You are too good for the likes of us. We're sorry we can't meet your Clean standards. You won't be missed. And the lines will be shorter. PS - I do understand that a bad experience can ruin your opinion of an establishment, and I am sure that bad experiences happen at this store (and every other store in the word), and you should post about that. Ad on tv says they home deliver beer and wine. Nope. Nothing. Liars. Store is limited range, they don't carry all beers. Was having a long exhausting day and accidentally didn't see that I lined up in an express lane. Mind you people ahead from me had more than 15 items. Reason why I joined the line. If I wanted to attempt to skip long line so could've gone to self checkout with a full cart ( mine was about 25 small items) like others do, after emptying my entire cart while lady at the register watched she decides to tell me that I have to go. I apologize and said I hadn't realized I was not in the proper line. So instead of letting me know she stood watched till I was done then told me I had to go checkout elsewhere. Ye Amy honest mistake but instead of just making it faster for the already long lines you decide to stand and watch and not scan my items then make me put everything back in my cart just to go checkout elsewhere. You can definitely tell that each grocery store caters to their max demographic. AND, there is absolutely no problem with that, but this store does NOT cater to the Organic or Clean eater. I was hella disappointed last night to see that not ONE item that I traditionally buy from HEB Greenlawn, or even sometimes at HEB Red Bud was available in Organic. WTF is that? BUT, if you want shit laden, GMO laden, fat fried and fat filled garbage, then "this IS your HEB". I don't care how old, or small, or dingy a store is. If they carry my goods, then I could care less about the condition of the store. Even without having a selection of Organics, they were very under stocked. Maybe that's because it was like 10pm on a Sunday, but IMO its poor managing to have absolutely NOTHING of multiple items. AND, even though its "in" Pflugerville, it is still considered the City of Austin so they do NOT have bags. Be prepared. They do have their big plastic bags for sale for .25, and they're really useful, but make sure you bring your bags. read more

Not sure how I always end up reviewing stuff like HEB and Wal-mart. Guess my life isn't as exciting as it ought to be. Anyway, when I moved to the Wells Branch area I thought - hey, here's an HEB. Who would of thought? I think my tastes are changing though. Or maybe the grocery stores are becoming awful-er and awful-er (it's a word). But I find myself going to Randall's more and more and you know - I'm enjoying it. The prices aren't even that bad with their discount card. But back to here. This place is filthy more often than not. I can never find *shredded* (not powder-ized or blocky) parmesan. You can't make a good salad without shredded parmesan and I am *not* rich enough to buy parmesan blocks. Last time I bought lunch ham and there was a hole in the package and my meat was partially greenish-white and they gave me crap about taking it back. I do love those cane sugar "Dr. HEBs" or whatever they call it. But I shouldn't be drinking those. read more

First of all let me say that I LOVE SHOPPING AT HEB. Ok..here I go. I went to HEB to get Snow Crab legs. I normally get King Crabs. HEB pretty get all of my money because my family loves King Crabs. Today I decided to change it up. When I got home, I washed them off and put them in the boiling water. I saw that something was on one ofthe legs. When I pulled it out ofthe water, it was a black circle on the joint part of the leg. Someone told me that the crab may have had an infection and the infected part was cut off. Well, I don't won't to eat anything infected! I called HEB and spoke to Ricardo in the Seafood Dept. He told me to bring them back, so I took them out of the pot to cool. While they were cooling off, I immediately disinfected my pot and tongs and put them in boiling bleach water to soak When I go to HEB, I went straight to the Seafood Dept. and Ricardo immediately came out. He looked at them and had a weird facial expression. When he walked back into the doors he hand-picked me some more and observed them. Once he wrapped them up, he starting to explain to me what the black dot ( almost the size of a dime) was.He said "Sometimes where the crabs are caught, they are put in a huge boiler and the marks are from the boiler. If the guys see a part of the crab that DOES'T Look RIGHT, THEY CHOP IT OFF. I just gave a stared look at him thinking 'If something don't look righ?.....LIKE AN lNFECTION OR A DISEASE?" When I got home, I observed the crabs myself, and sure enough, in between the cracks on the legs was all black NOPE NOPE NOPE, I JUST THREW THEM ALL AWAY IN THE DUMPSTER! Are the suppose to look like that? I may have to rethink this HEB. Lately I have been passing this location up to go to Greenlawm in Round Rock or the one on 1825 and Pecan Street. read more

Parking is a pain and two since it is in the Austin City limits they don't offer plastic bags. I felt like I was entering a flea market when I walk into the store. This is the ghettoest HEB I've been to. It's the one closest to our house so we're here a lot, but it's not unusual for us to have to go to other locations to find what we actually need. The parking lot is a scene straight out of "The Birds". If you go in the fall there's a good chance you'll get pooped on. The parking lot resembles a paintball field of bird droppings. It doesn't get much better when you get inside. You can tell the store is old and there are lots of cracked tiles. The assortment of produce is ok, but nothing compared to what you'll find at parmer/35 or parmer/mopac or gattis school / 45. Within the past months I've had to go to other locations to find several items. Here's a list of them, maybe you'll see a pattern and be able to gauge when to go here and when not to. 1.)
