Rudys is a great great place for traditional Texas BBQ. The prices are fair and the meat is always…read moredelicious and consistent. We had the extra lean brisket which was great with a nice smoke ring. We also had the "hottie" sausage with jalapeno. I have new potatoes and my friend had the slaw. They are know for cream corn but we passed today. We both had tea(one sweet, one unsweetened). The teas are perfect The restaurant has plenty of seating for large groups inside and outside on shaded patio. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. The place is always clean and the staff always welcome you with a smile. They even have gas pumps which my family from out of state loves. It is always great place to eat and a fun atmosphere. Try it!! Oh yes their smoked turkey is the best also.

Grabbed dinner for the hubs and I. St. Louis ribs and turkey with beans. We love their St. Louis…read moreribs as they are lean, flavorful and super tender. The turkey is also super moist and flavorful. We combined a couple of sides from home with the beans purchased. It is always lighting fast getting in and out of Rudy's, no matter how long the line queue. They have cracked to code of having a sufficient number of cashier's at peak times. When I am in a long line at the grocery store or elsewhere, then I think about Rudy's efficiency and effectiveness. Another great meal at Rudy's...

Book club preparations - Stop #4…read more Sam's is a great place to buy product in bulk as they have amazing prices. That's the good news. The downside of shopping at Sam's during peak hours is the store swarming with people, long lines and having to pack your purchased items in random boxes. I was searching for one item and one item only...a case of Topo Chico sparkling mineral water, which is bottled in Monterrey, Mexico. It is known for its crisp carbonation and distinctive mineral profile. Topo Chico appears unique to the South, I believe, a I have not seen it anywhere else. Topo Chico is fan favorite in Texas especially. As the story goes, the water's origin is tied to a legend involving the daughter of Emperor Moctezuma, who was said to have been totally revitalized after drinking from the spring at Cerro del Topo Chico. I grabbed by water, paid and out I went.

Naturally, that causes unnecessarily long waits, no matter what time you visit. It's frustrating, especially when you're already going out of your way to get here, but then the prices are hard to argue with... I've never successfully shopped in store. Employees are gruff at best and the hours are infuriating for someone who likes to get started early, but not pay $$$ for the privilege. It's unlikely I'll renew my membership after this year.
