I am not sure why but the people that work for H‑E‑B pharmacy are so rude !! I say about 90% of the time I call they the very rude , not sure if it's the stress of working there or what . The only one that is friendly is a your guy , everyone else unfortunately is not . It a shame because I have most of my medications through them . I am going to have to switch to CVS or Walgreens. This is my main H-E-B I shop at, as the one in Georgetown is much smaller, and aisles are cramped, and does not have great selection. This location seems like a "Plus", but listed as such. But, does have grocery, and a huge second second for all of your personal needs. I was surprised to taste and enjoy the prepared sushi! It is better then most Sushi restaurants! The rice stays together, and the fish is fresh! I have got on more then one occasion, as a great meal after tired from shopping! But love the produce, always fresh and stocked! The seafood and lunch meat counter I visit most often, and the staff working both are always very friendly and helpful! The only compliant I have is with the people bagging the groceries! I have brought in my own bags every time. I always put them up front, so they have them to start loading as I continue to unload my basket. I use to assume, they knew the RED H-E-B cold bag..is for COLD ITEMS. Nope...they continue to put anything they want in there,,,one time even cereal. Now, mind you, I even seperate my food on the belt, putting ALL the cold items first. So, last two times, I asked if they could put the cold items in this bag...first time, they did half and half. This last time, I pointed to cashier what I wanted in the bag. The bag person, put cardboard boxed ice cream cones on bottom and put sideways, the juice bottles on TOP...are you kidding? Do they not show them.."heavy stuff first"!??? I have tried several times ...even after my seperation..to keep "cold stuff with cold stuff", but it never gets done that way :(! It is my main store, and love most of it...just hate to check out! :( read more

This was a much needed HEB as the next 2 closest ones were the old run down one in Georgetown or the super crowded HEB Plus on 79. This HEB is super clean, has a great variety of groceries, adequate produce area, good meat selection, and anything else you would need from an HEB. This store is close enough to me that I go 4-5 times per week. Eliminates the need for that extra refrigerator in the garage! There are also usually employees that direct you to the shortest lines which is nice. Lots of registers so the lines are never very long. read more

I read on Reddit that H-E-B is known for its tortillas and went to the store to buy some. There wasn't any left in the box so I asked Steven, who was working at the bakery, if there was any left. He told me sadly there wasn't, but to come back tomorrow and they would have some. I continued shopping and this young man came and found me to bring me the LAST package that he miraculously found. I love this HEB store. Modern, clean, very good price on products. The HEB brand products are of a very good quality. For instance the HEB pizza's are a step above in my opinion. Much better than the cheap pizzas. Just as good or better than Digiorno pizza's. And it's like that with every HEB brand product I have bought so far. All the staff I've come into contact with have been nice, professional, and helpful. This is a great place to shop. read more

This pharmacy is constantly backed up. Prescriptions take 5-6 days sometimes over a week for them to be ready for you to pick up. I've never had issues with HEB pharmacies but this one has been extremely inconvenient for a lot of people. Unfortunately, this is the nearest by me. Almost everyone in Texas loves HEB and this location has been MY HEB since it opened. This store has a Cafe on the Run that has dozens of freshly prepared meals and side dishes. Some nights, I prepare a hot entree but serve with a great pasta salad or side of kale with almonds they prepare here. HEB honestly makes work nights dinner easier. Seasoned chicken or salmon in 2 serving aluminium trays means dinner is on the table in 30 minutes with minimal cleanup. Fresh meats and produce. A bakery that leaves me drooling when I pass through. Freshly made butter and flour tortillas that are seriously the best I have ever found in a grocery store. This really is a fabulous HEB. And I love how they help me put together healthy and interesting meals that are so simple, I feel great about serving them. Yeah...I LOVE my HEB. read more

I come to this store about r times a month when I have to make the trek to appointments in cedar park. Today my experience was less than desirable because the person (manager) in had an encounter with was very difficult to deal with. I believe his name was Morgan, a hefty young man with tan skin and dark hair. His name tag said he had been with H‑E‑B for NINE YEARS!! Shocking!! You see, I had purchased several energy drinks about two weeks prior for days that I'm dragging at work. I'm usually doing homework late the night before and waking up the next morning at 3:45 to get to work at my medical facility can leave me a bit sluggish around 11 am. I live about 40 minutes from the store. I got home after making my purchase a couple of weeks ago and when I went to remove the bagels from my car later that evening, noticed that the carpet in the back seat was wet and one of the cans was empty. I cleaned up the mess, put the can aside and told myself I'd exchange it when I went back that way. It never ever crossed my mind to keep the receipt because 1) it was just a drink and 2) the drink was unopened and had a puncture where all the fluid leaked out. There is H‑E‑B near me but I knew they didn't sell this item. So today I go to exchange this empty can for one with something in it an d as soon as I told him the can was punctured and it leaked he asked if I had the receipt. I told him I didn't and he said they couldn't do anything without a receipt because I could have purchased it at any store... after I told him I bought it at his store. We went round and round for a minute then he asked if I purchased it with a card. I told him that I did so he sends me to the business center to have them look up my purchase. I proceeded to the business center and as I am walking away he says "wait! We can do an even exchange..." I said "sure, that's all I wanted to do." I used to work at H‑E‑B so I know they change displays and end caps regularly. I asked where the product was. He replied, "Didn't you purchase that here at this store?" At any rate I found where I needed to go to get an unpoked can of this energy drink to exchange for the unopened, poked can that leaked out in my back seat. Before the new Wolf's Ranch HEB opened in Georgetown I had no issues with HEB on IH 35 North in Georgetown. I do curbside pickup weekly. Since the IH35 HEB closed, I have had nothing but problems. The 1st time I waited quite a while and watched people arriving after me come and go. The 2nd time they gave my rider to someone else and rather than repack this very small order, they made me wait for the ither person to bring the foid back and there was a cooked rotisserie chicken! I'm not from the area, but each time I come to Austin to visit my family, I love coming to H-E-B! Staff is great, and customer service is fantastic. I was looking for a specific wine, and was helped within seconds. I showed a picture to the staff member of what I was looking for and right away he knew it wasn't in stock. He asked me what I loved about that wine and I simply said "its not too sweet and its not too dry either" We walked down to the Australia section and he immediately pointed out to Insurrection Red Blend 2015 and for $11, that is a steal! Today was the Grand Opening and it was awesome! We went to a nice restaurant for lunch, we should have just gone here, everywhere we went they had free samples of different kinds of food, wine, and cooking demonstrations. It was crowded but not bad at all. They have a very nice bakery, deli, meat market, flower shop, fish market, and even an inhouse restaurant called Café On The Run. And for those of you who enjoy fresh bait, they even have a sushi bar. They may not have everything you need....but they almost do! Lots of employees offering assistance, we really enjoyed ourselves. This one is closer to the casa so we'll probably do most of our shopping here. Posted some pictures, check it out. Thanks HEB for putting an awesome super grocery store near our home. Still a 5-star, but updating for a couple of points for my fellow "special food-needs" friends: 1 - if you go to the deli, Boar's Head products are gluten free. Also, if you have celiac disease tell the staff and they will use a clean blade for your order. 2 - the healthy living section (in the back behind the freezer cases) has an entire aisle dedicated to gluten free and vegan foods, including a freezer case for breads/frozen meals/etc. Although make sure you double check the packaging - I accidentally picked up a bag of all purpose flour that was on the wrong aisle and wasn't GF. (When I took it back to customer service a few days later, they promptly gave me a refund with no problems.) 3 - some of the products they are using for the main cooking station by the deli are gluten free - ask Chef Leo, he usually has something safe to sample! read more

It's super disappointing to find out the HEB pharmacy will not fill ivermectin prescription which has a long history of safety but would instead only fill scripts of brand new untested drugs from Pfizer that are only approved under emergency authority and have absolutely NO safety data behind them. Disgusting to force people into using big Pharma expensive new drugs instead of more affordable, safe, drugs THEY feel more comfortable using. I'm so disgusted right now. My family depends thousands of dollars in the grocery store every month. After this, I'll be shopping somewhere else. And I'll make sure I let everyone know where this store stands. read more

I am a long time HEB fan - and I like this one a bunch! They have really done a great job with this selection! The store is huge. Pros: I used to have to go to a specialty store for certain items - I still do for some but they have really improved their offerings with this store! For example, they have a whole isle dedicated to gluten free and vegan items! They have items like Banyan Tofu, Daiya and Veganaise. It's very convenient too that there is an expanded area of 'gifty' items in this store. For example -You can pick up a pretty scarf or sparkly tote bag and gift wrap while your in there. The fish counter is nice too - tried both cod and salmon and both were very fresh. We got sushi a few times recently as well and we were quite pleased. Generally my few interactions with staff have been positive. The checkers seem like a happy lot. People have been very friendly and helpful when asking to help find things. The parking lot is massive! I was totally put off by the opening week crowds - not a parking space to be found. Thankfully that was short lived! The only con: The lady at the back of the store who is cooking and talking over an amp - she is seriously annoying. She acts like a bad cliche game show host. She calls out to people as they walk by and is very pushy when offering food to children (and adults) loudly. I cringe each time I walk by hoping she wont talk to me. I have heard parents tell her no several times as she doggedly continued to push her sample (again over a loud speaker). There are those who seek out samples and those who seek to avoid them she really need not desperately call on passers by! Over all it is a great store. I love that it is a TX owned company too. That is great for the economy. I just try hard not to make eye contact with the pushy chick at the back of the store and it's all good. read more

This is a great HEB. They are all good, but this one is great. Inside the grocery door you will find a kiosk from My Fit Foods, and an abundance of take and bake meal options that were prepared in the store. The produce section is the standard above average quality. Bakery department has several people working every time I go, they have a larger selection of fresh baked breads than most HEB PLUS, and only Central Market has a better selection. They also have a fresh baked cookie kiosk. If you go you must try the in-house roasted deli meats. They have a couple types of turkey (roast, cajun, and provincal, I believe), as well as roast beef. Be careful with the roast beef selections because some are very rare, and some are fully cooked to the point of being dry. The butcher section carries some very nice meats you can chose from (eg: Natural, Prime, Prime Aged, Kobe). The beer and wine section is also quite large, and has had a staffer present every time I've been. They have a selection of 8 wines that you can taste, too. The rest of the store is pretty typical, and pretty large. The do have a cell phone sales section staffed by an HEB employee, but I haven't investigated that. All of the employees I have spoken with have been friendly. read more

This HEB is one of the best, which is why they are always busy. It helps now that they have self service checkout stands. They truly have everything you could need when it comes to groceries or basic household items. Their produce is fresh, meats and seafood are fresh, and they work quickly at the deli counter. Whenever I can't find something, they are quick to help and they have some delicious pre-made meals you can find right when you walk in. They even have a small gift section next to the flowers. You can save money by taking advantage of their yellow coupons made available throughout the store! read more

I love this grocery store! I should have written this review much sooner. If you like to cook they have an amazing bulk spice area. You can get many different spices and pay pennies for them. If you need a couple bay leaves you can get a couple and it will cost considerably less then buying bottled ones. I keep hoping they bring in hatch green chili seasoning or ground jalapeño though. They also have the best crab stuffed salmon. It's already to go in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes and it's a perfect quick dinner paired with some asparagus for two. I moved to the Dallas metroplex and we don't have H‑E‑B YET, so I order for grocery pick up once or twice a month when I'm in Austin because I love their stuff so much. I bring my cooler and get a bag of ice to make it back the 4 hour drive with my favorite stuff. The brisket queso is so good and they have the best spicy guacamole that they make in house. The poke bowls and sushi are so good. Their cheese selection, their store brand stuff. Their Houston blend of coffee, the two bite brownies... and at the Kyle, TX location and some of the bigger ones, they even have SUPER cute toddler clothes and women's workout clothes. Oh and their brand of whole milk cottage cheese puts all others to shame. I won't even eat another brand now unless it has a lot of fruit to disguise the taste. The list goes on and on. They just have great quality food, a lot of variety, and really reasonable prices. There is a VERY small markup on grocery pickup... and even still it's more affordable than most grocery stores and for better quality. I think the saying is "Nobody does it better than my H‑E‑B" and it's true. No pics this time, I didn't think about it... but the app has pretty accurate pictures of all their products. No surprises of getting something that doesn't look at all like what they advertise. read more

Just moved around the area and this HEB is really close to us. We used to go to the one by Parmer and Whitestone and I loved it there! People and food always good! But this one well.. the people that work here idk they like to talk to each other gotta wave and get in their way to get some help. And I went to their "family" restroom to change my baby's diaper... good thing I didn't put him on there right away because guess what it's broken. Told a lady about it and she said she was going to tell the managers...Went back here again numerous occasions and had to change my sons diapers again and still broken after couple of months ‍ i hope no baby gets hurt BE CAREFUL MAMAS! read more

I waited two weeks for toilet paper and it was not fulfilled in my delivery. HEB is not taking measures against people hoarding toilet paper and is instead just putting out all of the toilet paper on the floor. I won't ever use the delivery service again as I depended on them once and they did not come through. It looks like I'll have to join everyone standing in line waiting for toilet paper. read more

I love this store but the pharmacy has consistently been a major issue. Ruth Ann from pharmacy was extremely rude and though I explained my situation and asked for guidance as a customer on how to help process... still didn't help situation. I'm a veteran with numerous medication prescriptions and travel a lot for work. I called and immediately informed her that I didn't know exactly what medication needed refills but that any available for refill, I would like and need filled. I explained that the reason for this is that I travel weeks at a time for work and unable to come in with down to last few of any medication. She was extremely annoyed and numerous times tried to tell me that I should be providing her with specifics on which meds I need and that she would not be able to check for me. I explained to her several times of my situation and that I didn't have medications I'm front of me and again that I was sorry that she would have to check each medication in my profile but great if she could just check them and whenever they were ready I would come and get. She eventually told me I would have to hold of that's what I needed... I held and she came back 2 minutes or so later and told me that I had 2 medications available for refill. I questioned her and told her that I was fairly certain I had more that I needed. She got more irritated and told me again she would have to put me on hold and take a long time. I finally told her that I didn't appreciate being lied to and that she didn't actually check all my medications for refill as I had asked. She argues that she didn't like but that it is "preferred" customers tell them what meds are needed. I asked her that I'd that was a policy... I understood and would correct or if it was just a preference and an inconvenience for her. End of the whole situation resulted in me needed and getting 8 prescriptions filled and not the 2 she had initially told me. It's unfortunate that that whole situation had to happen and I'll be changing to new pharmacy after this experience. This is in no way a reflection of the store as a whole. I love HEB and this location has been great in all other capacities but the pharmacy had consistently been less than ideal. Will never use that pharmacy again. read more

This H-E-B is doing a great job! Today I had to go back to HEB for milk and eggs. The employees were monitoring the 2 limit rules. That was the first time I had noticed that they had stickers on the floor advising social distance squares for the eggs line. Everyone was great at this and very polite. Then I noticed that everyone is trying to do social distancing, trying to maneuver around shoppers and carts. This HEB is my local store and I applaud them. Thank you to the 100 plus store employees. I am normally very happy with this HEB, but the store seems to be getting busier and the Scan and Go works less efficiently all the time. Every employee who I've talked to about it has said that management keeps saying they are working on it. It has been almost a year that they have been 'working on it'. HEB has had enough time and money to change locations on almost every item in the store, but they can't seem to take the time or spend the money to get their WiFi working for the Scan and Go to work. Today it didn't work at all after I was there ten minutes. They keep saying that they are adding Scan and Go to more stores, but if it doesn't work, it isn't useful! There are a lot of us old people who would like to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible, but it's just getting harder to do! read more

The true history of this Texas Iconic Grocery Store is that it was founded by Florence Butt on November 26, 1905 in Kerrville, TX. The name was CC Butts Grocery. Florence opened this store on the ground floor of her home. In 1919, her son, Howard Edward Butt took over the store after returning home from World War I. After several attempts to expand failed, Howard finally successfully opened a second store in 1927 and changed the name to H-E-B. Today they have over 350 stores. Some are smaller and some are huge which are known as H-E-B Plus. They also own stores known as Central Market. You can find just about everything you need here. They have fresh seafood, a bakery, tons of vegetables and fruits, unique Texas items, a deli and so much more. They have free samples to try as you walk though the store as well as wine and beer tastings. They carry my five favorites wines here and the prices are reasonable, not only for their wine but also for their groceries. The workers are always happy and very friendly. HEB is all around good stuff! This location always has everything I want and more. The parking lot, entrance, and store is always clean. One thing that separates HEB from others is they have meat of higher quality. I get most of my brisket from there. I used to have to search for a butcher to get the quality and cut I look for. The butcher will cut to order if they don't have what you want. The staff always seems to be in a good mood, which is unusual. I also pay close attention to attitude in addition to quality and prices. I feel as though I am welcomed here. It's got it all. Just do a walk through and see for yourself. :-) read more

Having recently moved, I now have a new H-E-B to frequent. There are a lot of things to absolutely love about my neighborhood H-E-B. I love the meat department and the excellent selections including Kobe beef. The deli is large and has several premise selections and a large assortment of cheeses and meats. The produce department is large and varied and there are several cooking sections with demos and samples. The wine department workers and nice and knowledgeable. Tell them what you like and they'll find you inexpensive and expensive alternatives and recommendations. There are a few things that I wish they had, like more central market type offerings, a larger Asian section, but I get that the clientele may not support that so it's okay. read more
