I LOVE H-MART! 1.) Snacks - I love getting the Asian snacks, pockys etc. 2.) Beauty stuff - One of my fave's are the makeup remover pads in the rose scent & cucumber, for $1.99. They also have a seperate beauty shop called The Face Shop. I haven't shopped there much, but I have purchased Keratin shampoo/conditioner while they had a sale, & it works really good! 3.) Food court - A little pricey.... My fave is the viet iced coffee, & the Korean restaurant's bin bin bop. The flip place isn't bad either. 4.) Bakery - The bakery is ok...... Not a lot of selection compared to Mitsuwa in Arlington Hts. They offer bubble tea as well, but it's all the powdery substance they use instead of real fruit---just go to Joyees across the street by K-mart. read more

Be ware of restickered sell by dates on meat! We shop at H mart frequently for years. Although pricey, but one stop shop for your Asian items. My mom recently bought fresh beef , the date sticker said 2/6 (February 6th), but she noticed there is a sticker under this date sticker,she peeled the top sticker off to reveal another date sticker that said 2/2. I now question the quality of all their perishable products due to this practice. read more

Unless their "fresh" produce has just arrived, do not purchase from here. Also, be aware of the expiration dates on a lot of their prepared products. I mostly go here only when I will not be able to find an ingredient at another grocery store. It's a shame that this is the only larger Asian market in The western burbs. I will review both the H Mart and H Plaza together since H Plaza does not have separate yelp page. I just discovered this gem so I have only been once, but I truly loved my experience. I do not have another large Korean grocery to compare, or the H Mart in the Niles area. The store is clean and has a great selection in the produce. I am always bragging about the prices of Woodmans in N. Aurora but this place has better prices on many items and the produce is incredibly fresh. I like the wide variety of both domestic and asian fruits and veges. Wonderful selection of rices, asian sauces, beans, vinegars and oils. I did not look at the meat section b/c I don't eat much meat at all. The tofu selection was incredible! Also looked to be a really nice frozen foods section. They sale some housewares and rice cookers (do not recall brands, but not typical US brands). I will definitely be making this a regular stop for groeries, even if I have to drive a bit. The plaza is nice as well....not many stores but a few. There is a Korean cosmetics store Amore, as you walk in the door on the plaza side. There selection is quite small but the lady wo works there in the afternoons is so incredibly helpful. She was so attentive, graceful and kind. There is a store across from her that sells ladies jewelry, accessories (scarfs, hats, gloves, purses etc), nice shirts and pants, sweaters, etc. The lady working there was also very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed trying on hats and looking at clothes. There are some really pretty garmets I would like to purchase as a super treat. There is a great bakery/cafe in the front of all the the store and they have the great smoothies with tapiocca. I had a coconut with tapiocca balls and it was delish. Now....the Shiseido store is a different story. The young lady working the day we were there was incredibly rude...beyond rude. We felt as if we were annoying her by even being in "her" store. She talked to us in a dismissive tone and told my friend who had just been to Korea a month a half ago what she she shared was wrong. She was just rude....I don't know how else to say it. read more

Have to love the Super H mart for your Asian food fix in the Suburbs. Stores like this are hard to find in the burbs so a large Asian grocery store like H-Mart is really a gemm to have in Naperville. H-Mart has everything you need to make great Asian food at home. I personally love the Asian cookie isle (yes they still sell Koala yummies :)) and the Ramune drinks are to die for although a bit on the pricy side. You can also get frozen Edamami and marinated bulgulgi that is ready to fry (love Koren BBQ). The Meats here are fresh and the marinade is as good as at the koren BBQ restaurants. H-Mart also has a great Cafitera that is a must stop with every visit. The Sushi is extremely fresh and a good value here. I also really enjoy the Korean food in the Cafeteria. Everything I have had here is as good as a nice sit down restaurant. Only complaint is the decor in the cafe' is like a high school cafeteria. This part of the store is in bad need of some TLC. Over all H-mart is a great place to go for Asian groceries and a bite to eat. read more

We are regular customers of H-Mart simply because there is no other farm products store of this kind in our vicinity. There are 3 things I want to suggest to them, so I hope this suggestion gets to their CEO: (1) Shopping Cart - Their carts functions like a quadriplegic robot. Very difficult to steer because it goes in same direction with the front wheels. If you want to go to the left, the rear wheels will move to the left, letting you hit some objects on the left side of the alley. Remedy - fix the rear 2 wheels so it won't steer in the direction of the front wheels. (2) Have someone assigned in their customer service area able to speak english. I dropped and lost my ID yesterday inside the H-mart and when I went to their customer service counter today asking for "lost & found" items. The rude lady just said, ...no, no.. we do not sell lost and found. (3) Teach their cashiers to be friendly even to non-Koreans customers. They have all the Korean groceries that you need. The food that the mini restaurants sell are pretty good (esp for the price). The only thing that annoys me is the layout of the store. It feels like they squashed the grocery section into one end of the store and the other end of the store is just empty... I like other H Marts that are nice and open. You won't really find a lot of authentic Chinese food here... Go to "Oriental Mart" in Lisle for that! :) read more

overall, I like this place to get some asian food. The price is also reasonable and they have vaiety of selection. The seafood department are great. The meat price is also reasonable. This store is quite possibly the largest and best place in the Western Suburbs to get all of my Asian grocery needs! They have it all from authentic ingredients to traditional cookware, and, though I do agree with the other reviewers that the place does smell like an old-world fish market, but the seafood is surprisingly fresh and the variety is unbeatable. I've worked in the food industry for over 30 years and tracking down certain ingredients has always been a chore, not anymore! I did make the mistake once of coming on a Saturday afternoon, so if at all possible, try stopping in during the week to avoid the crowds! read more

This place deserves "ZERO" stars for their customer service. Unlike its sister HMart in Niles, the staff, especially the cashiers just do not know how to provide customer service. Most of them all act like they are mad at something. and they don't even acknowledge you as a customer, nor greet you, like "hi" or "hello". They don't even say "Thank you" either. Their washroom is ghetto because every time I use it, there's always a puddle, out of toilet paper, paper towel, and have "S***T" on the toilet seats. DISGUSTING! I hate going to this location. You are better off going to the NIles HMart, instead of the Naperville one. I wonder how they can get away with such poor sanitation, and customer service.
