If I could give it a negative rating, I would... So there is a small restaurant inside the supermarket conveniently called "HMart Restaurant". The older lady that worked the register, with the short/bob-cut - shoulder length - salt/pepper hair is extremely rude. I ordered a dish and ask for it to be spicy, which I have done several times before, was told no in a harsh manner. Granted, she wasn't there when I had done this, nonetheless, the other staff members had accommodated my request many times before. All she had to do was ask the cooks to add gochujang (red chili paste found in many Korean dishes). It was clearly on the counter (open kitchen that you can see into) plus, they have several other dishes where gochujang is used in their spicy dishes. I was super hungry, didn't want to questioned why and went on ahead and ordered the dish. Food is reasonably priced and decent for a quick bite. What really did it for me is that, when I went back up to the counter to get a refill on a small cup of water (which was maybe a 4-5 oz sized cup) was surprised that she had turned off the water machine. I asked for water and once again was denied with a firm no. She then completely ignored me as if I wasn't a paying customer. For that reason alone, I won't be going there any more and will certainly make sure all my family and friends is aware of the horrific service that was received. If you get hungry while you're shopping at Hmart, just stop by their in-store Hmart Restaurant in the 'food court'. The menu is simple and there are pictures! They are quick and inexpensive. Sometimes the workers are very engrossed in whatever they're doing but once you get their attention, they'll take care of you. There's a shared seating area and everyone needs to bus their own table. The tofu in the Soondubu I had was crumbly instead of cut into cubes but it still tasted good. It came with rice and banchan and it was only $6.50. I'm not saying it's the best, but it's ok considering the cost, quantity and convenience. read more

Don't eat here! Food is atrocious. Stopped in at H-Mart to pick up a few Korean ingredients to cook at home. Our favorite Korean restaurant (Mirak) didn't open until 11:00 AM. We wandered over to the food court & found the H-Mart Restaurant. We decided to give it a try. Big mistake. We odered a plate of Bulgogi & a beef/noodle soup: Salloghan ? Both were totally tasteless. At most Korean restaurants, the Bulgogi can be covered in a teriyaki-like sauce, which taste a lot better than the plate we had. As far as the soup, I've tasted boiled water that tasted better. The beef was tough & the noodles were soggy. It came with a little container of some kind of hot sauce/paste & one with salt...plain old table salt. I dumped both into the soup, but neither helped. I asked if I could get some shoyu (soy) sauce & the server got quite irritated at me. She said, "No soy. Use salt", and handed me another container of salt. I guess salt is cheaper than shoyu/soy. We ended up dumping most of the food. YUCK! read more

Talk about high hopes! They are located inside H-mart, they have the freshest ingredients at their disposal. However, they serve old pre-made food. What it is exactly is all the packaged food you see at H-Mart is made by these guys, so if you order something that is on the floor as a prepackage item that means they go get it and serve what is made... meaning not fresh. I would say about 80% of the dishes are fresh like the stews and some of the stir fried stuff. However, 2 out of the three dishes came to us in the H-Mart prepackaged case. So the Pa jun was cold, and the most upsetting was the Korean spicy wings were cold and sticky, they flavor was still OK, but defiantly not what it would have been had it been fresh. The ojinga bokkeum came fresh and it was just OK, nothing special. There virtually is no banchan offered other than 1 side of Kim chi which was very bland. read more

I always come and get spicy tofu soondubu here, which is awesome, since I can't easily prepare it myself. It's just the right serving size and I appreciate the two small cold dishes on the side as well. Would give this a 4-5. My husband got bulgogi which was good, but he had extremely burnt pieces (1/3 dish) that normally would taste good - but I guess not when the plate itself is so new, so it just tasted like carbon. The price isn't bad but it is comparable to a sit-down restaurant, so I guess for a better food experience, I'd say go elsewhere. Meanwhile, I should know better than to come during lunch hour on a Sunday; finding a table when you're eating by yourself is a stressful and arduous process. The food takes forever, likely due to the limited number of bowls, and you really feel bad for some groups when one person is served 30 minutes prior to another. They seem to have an efficient process... Just not efficient or large enough for these crowds. Perhaps in a year, the craze will die down. --- I overheard another girl lament about getting Thai food (pad thai) at the Korean grocery, which made me laugh. Usually stop in here if we dont want to spend as much as we normally do eating out for Korean food. There are multiple older Korean ladies in the back making food - as they also make some of the prepared foods sold in Hmart. They do cater and do orders to go. Restaurant is self serve for water, throwing out your trash (yes, you don't leave it at the table people), and returning the trays to their front counter. Most of the food is alright, and hits the spot if you are having any cravings for particular Korean dishes. Side dishes depend on what you order as the main entree. No more than 2 or 3, but that's all you need. Food is served on a tray in styrofoam bowls for rice and cups for water. In my opinion, the best dish i have tried is the ojinguh-bokkeum (spicy stir fried squid). The dish is marinaded really well and is spicy, without overcooked squid, yum! I've been looking for a place that serves rabokki and my friend told me about this little shop inside of H-Mart. It's been years since I've had it and recently been craving it. Rabokki is ramen with cylindrical rice cakes and fish cakes covered in a thick, spicy Korean sauce. Maybe I was really hungry that day or maybe the taste was a little nostalgic, but it was AMAZING!!! The portion is pretty big and my friend and I shared the rabokki and had a side of kimbap. I recommend dipping the kimbap into the rabokki sauce! Stopped by H Mart for some eomuk and korean red chili powder...decided to try this place (it was closed last time). SUPER good korean food and fast! Good price too! $6.50 for bibimbap, $5.99 for soondubu, and $6.50 for dwegi bulgogi. Split it with my sister and only comes out to $10 per person! The soondubu wasn't the best we've had, but we still ate it all up! The pork in the bulgogi was SUPER tender, and PERFECT flavor. Bibimbap was the best we've had as well! They serve good food at the H Mart foodcourt. However, their cashier lacks customer service. The lady is abrupt and impatient. They also tend to mix up orders despite the customer showing their receipt upon claiming the food. After receiving the food my family started to get ready to eat. Shortly after, the cashier came and said "What did you order?" We told her our order and showed her our receipt (which she looked at when the food was given). She then said, "No, this is not chicken." As soon as she said that, she grabbed the food away from my husband. Then she told me to open my food (each entree is wrapped in foil). I opened it slowly but she grew impatient and used my chopsticks to poke through the food in front of me. The she also took it away. My husband told her she was being rude and pointed out that she shouldn't behave the way she did. She said "I'm sorry. I will change the food." Needless to say, our dining experience was a nightmare. This place is quick and easy and the food is satisfying enough that my mom and I come here for lunch almost once a week. They have most of the basic soup and food options so everyone can find something that they like. Obviously, they're going for cheap and fast, so the dishes aren't AMAZING, but they'll do on days when I don't feel like cooking. The kitchen is run by a lot of old Korean ladies who like to be efficient, so if at times they seem a little rude, forgive them. Don't expect all the banchan you might expect to find at a Korean restaurant, because this isn't that type of establishment. They give you two kinds of kimchee, and that's it. the food here is just ok. we go here pretty often and it's pretty convenient being right in the store. but compared to ACTUAL korean restaurants, this place is pretty bad. for one the bibimbap does not come in a hot bowl, it comes with cold vegetables circled around a cup of sauce (which is the only thing that keeps everything together) and the only way it heats up is putting the rice in. there is no meat in it, and it only tastes like the sauce in the cup. the other like 80% of the menu seems fresh and is actually pretty good. also the service is WEIRD :( they used to be really mean tbh. and they didn't even care tbh. but there also is a lady that has been super controlling. she has literally told arranged our utensils for us :( last word: only go here if you are grocery shopping, there is literally another korean restaurant close by. read more

I'm so thankful H Mart is here. Even better if it was closer to my home. For now, I'm more than happy to drive to get all of my hard to find Korean ingredients that you wouldn't find at your local supermarket. I love that they let you sample the kimchi. The sushi selection was good. I like the little Korean food kitchen so that you can eat the traditional street food. Overall, well stocked with every asian products you'll need for Korean cooking. Stopped by here to grab a quick bite as I was doing some shopping at the Hmart. I guess its okay as it's somewhat apart of the Hmart. The food came out a bit slow. Ordered the tteokbokki and bibimbap, I guess the tteokbokki took more time to cook? Tteokbokki was much softer than the other places I've tried, didn't have much taste either. Your food is called and you pick up your food at the counter where the kitchen ladies are at. Another lady picks up and cleans your table after you are finished as a trash can is nowhere insight. read more

You know what.. I take back my gripe about the produce... The last few times I went the produce has been awesome and lasted quite some time in the fridge... I'm extra picky because I grow veggies and can spot super super fresh from the "typical" fresh looking item in the produce department. It's generally better and at the very least as good as a typical chain market.. Also.. the the reason for the cheap prices is because they get bought out a lot more than from typical chain stores but the produce comes from the same sources.. I'm writing about the typical produce that would be grown in the US such as korean radish not exotic items like durian. read more
