A larger selection of groceries than the Hartsdale Hmart, as well as a larger food court, and a liquor store next door. The larger selection also comes with cheaper produce prices and more frozen food options. The food court has Korean fried chicken which is up to snuff, and the pajeon is sizeable and filling. The ramen seems like its just Shin or another instant noodle put in a bowl and topped off- definitely not worth the price here, so skip it. Still, the prices are very reasonable. read more

We have been wanting to try the Korean wings at HMart for some time now. In the same complex there is a spot called cravwings who also sell Korean wings. We have eaten at crav and really enjoyed it and we wanted to compare. Today we were able to get wings from HMart. For starters HMart is a cool spot. Not the items I typically shop for but If you are Looking for specialty items this is your place. So we ordered the wings. And waited, and waited and waited. It didn't seem busy but it took some time. Crav also took some time as well. I guess because the wings are supposed to be double fried. The wings smelled great however I wasn't thrilled about the packaging. I asked the lady behind the counter for some tape just to tape the box closed. The box was practically open in the bag. I was told so they would crispy. No worries. As for the packaging crav gets the nod. We get home and the wings are hot but nothing remotely close to crispy (which is weird considering they are called crispy). Crav wings are definitely crispy, even with sauce, which was fascinating. The wings didn't taste terrible however they were small and caked with breading. Unfortunately we had to throw most of them out because they were really not edible. There was also some weird looking color under the skin. I assume it was some breading that didn't fry all the way. I have loved this supermarket since it opened, but even more so now. During this pandemic they have gone above and beyond to take precautions to keep their customers and those who work for them safe. They are limiting numbers of people who enter, but lines are going fast. They give everyone gloves as well as cleaning all their carts for each customer and they have hand sanitizer all over. They've been restocking regularly as well. So thankful for a supermarket that cares enough to do it right during this pandemic. read more

Poor quality fruits and vegetables, refrozen ice cream and beyond. Lousy peaches and plums that go from unripe directly to mush; shriveled, rotting eggplant; tasteless, mushy apples. Their ice cream freezer doesn't work properly and they continually allow ice cream to thaw and refreeze. I've told them about these problems, but they don't seem to care since nothing improves. I have given this store multiple tries over the years, but they keep getting worse. I won't shop there again. read more

This store is noticeably phasing out a lot of Taiwanese products and swapping in with questionable, cheaper Chinese replacements. No more Chinese or Japanese newspapers and magazines. Frozen food are a problem--Just spent $17 on frozen buns x3 that are old, which I couldn't tell until they were steamed. I want to start off by saying I frequently shop at this location for their fresh variety of veggies, fruits, and seafood. My latest purchase however, left me floored. I was shopping for meat and had a taste for lamb chops. With the help of staff, I found it and everything was fine-Until I got home. Apparently I didn't pay attention to what I grabbed because there was no date on the packaging. Needless to say, when I opened the packaging to prepare my dinner, the meat had such a horrendous odor I almost vomited. It was BAD! There's no telling how long those lamb chops were sitting there but I knew immediately it was spoiled. Rotten. I tried to contact the store to let them know they should remove the meat from that section before someone else experience what I did, but no one ever answers the phone. There's also a language barrier at times which makes it difficult to communicate throughly, because the store is Asian owned and most of the staff speak very little English. I send this review not to take away business, but to remind consumers to be cautious. Not only can I get the stuff I need, there are also items that I keep regularly in my house like the frozen dumplings. I gave them another try at the food court. First time I ever took one spoon of a dish and returned it and insisted on a refund. I will never, ever, get anything from the food court except the great fresh fried Korean chicken wings. I had ordered the Korean seafood tofu dish, what they call Soontofu. It was watery with no flavor other than a little hot pepper. A few pieces of tofu and some tiny pieces of calamari which was overcooked like hard rubber. Absolutely terrible. read more

I was very excited for this new H mart. Although H mart in White Plains is closer to me, more options are always better. Everything was great. I really like that there are so many different products and the price was good too. However, I was very disappointed when I was checking out. First, the cashier seemed like she has no idea what I am buying. Being slow is fine, but she was just looking at them. She didn't know what to do. Then finally asked around what those are. I understand some might look a bit exotic for her, but like apples and some basic stuffs? Hmmmm Honestly, until this point, I was a bit annoyed, but it was understandable, because that could be her personal issue. But the main reason that I am writing this review is because of the man who's helping putting groceries in bags. He either had no idea what he is doing or he is just mean. He put meats, fishes, vegetables, frozen food, literally everything all together. Don't even care. Even though I separated the groceries to make their work easier. I even reorganized some groceries in front of him, because there was fish, poultry and vegetable in one bag. The worst part was after he put the groceries in the bag, he dumped them in the cart. I corrected again, but didn't care. After I came back home, soft veggies and fruits were already going bad. Maybe H mart didn't have time to educate the employees yet. We ordered some food on 9/16 (Saturday) from their food vendors inside the mart. Once we got home and oped the container, the small portions of the side dishes we ordered were littered with fungus and mold. When I called them to complain, instead of even apologizing, they demanded pictures and evidence. You wanted pictures and evidence? here you go. Absolutely disgusting. I've contacted the department of health already and have provided them with the pictures as evidence. This is not how you conduct business in the US, especially selling spoiled food and then neglecting responsibility until evidence is provided. read more

This location is smaller that the one at Hartsdale, but definitely a lot nicer and cleaner. The food court has less options, but they've got the essentials (a few Japanese stalls, a couple Chinese, the Asian bakery with bubble tea, and I believe they've got Korean dishes in one of the stall, as well.) I for sure prefer a smaller size grocery store than having to walk through a Walmart-sized one. The grocery sections were easy to navigate and checkout is always seamless. read more

It's on and off here. I would not trust most vegetables they sell here. Pre-package goods are ok such as cans, jars n etc. Pre-made food is off and on. I have not tried their marinade meats but their other stuff. Their kimchi is off n on, I mean the once that are made in a plastic container. I like crispy fresh kimchi, not the soggy, alcholic fremented taste. Sometimes u can find it there. I think the once the has sesame seeds and look more white are it, but may not always. Let me see, the sushi is ok. There price is decent for what u get. The dumplings not so much, but I have not tried all the different types of dumplings. In the food court, I had only one soup and that tasted too much like white people fusion, instead of authentic Korean. I miss the times, when they had Korean grandmothers make the food. Either the grandmothers don't want to do it anymore, or they don't pay enough. It is good to get your Asian ingredients here though - like tofu, Korean pastes. For Chinese stuff, I recommend going to Chinese grocery. Stay away from the veggies n fruits if you can help it. The Asian fruits may be ok, but the ones you get in regular stores, don't get it here. So I give it 2 stairs for having the Korean pastes, but I think Chinese groceries can beat H-mart if they expand more, and do more. I have to say one thing of the Chinese, if they try they can be very competitive and very good with products. Remember in ancient times, the Chinese had the best stuff like silk, procelain, fireworks, n all kinds of inventions. They were the first merchants with so many great stuff. Now they're recreating the belt road, so watch out. Also because of the tariff war, they're not selling the rare earth metals. I loved H Mart before but this place beats all the rest. This H mart has a huge selection of food and has a mini food court, deli, bakery and beauty counter! There are tons of free samples to entice you into buying their goods. They really make the samples taste homemade and authentic unlike places like costco where the food is premanufactured and they just have to heat it up. The marketplace is kept tidy, clean and it is easy to locate whatever it is you need. The food court has so many options of Korean, Chinese and even Japanese food. I was so surprised to find takoyaki here and I can't wait to come back to try the taiyaki. The spicy squid and pork over rice tasted like (if not better than the average) korean restaurant quality. They even served mini appetizer dishes like daikon and salad with the meal. Customer representatives around the food court and the sample people were friendly and made you feel like a regular patron. They have a good variety of baked goods and i was able to buy a cake for my mom's birthday and they even offered to give me candles and a plastic knife for serving. They also currently have a promotuon where every 5 bread items you get a free bubble tea. I picked the mango bubble tea which was refreshingly sweet and the tapioca balls still tasted fresh and soft. I was just at Hmart. Seems they have increased their prices during this time on produce and eggs. I used to pay for jumbo eggs $1.79 a dozen or at most $250. Also, the staff was extremely rude when asked a question and wouldn't even help me pack while the line was so long. I am truly disgusted. Just a short walk away from the Beeline bus route, this grocery stop is a surefire hit! I love this location wayyy better than the Hartsdale one, and it's much closer to my place. You don't feel crowded in the aisles at all and they have a bigger selection. Just like the Hartsdale one, they have a separate skincare section which is awesome. Another huge plus is their crazy big foot court with way more selections to choose from. It reminded me of a mini version of the Ktown food courts. They also have Delimanjoo and a separate bakery with the different buns and cakes. read more

Husband bought cilantro instead of parsley in Hmart in Hartsdale. Went into this branch in Yonkers which I always go to spending in the average of $80-$100. Wanted an exchange of cilantro to parsley. Johnnie the store manager took his thumb and pointed me in the direction of the other store. Saying ma'am that's not my problem! They just lost a very good customer and now I know why the store had lay offs of half their employees and hours cut from the existing employees. Now I have to waste my time and gas to go to the Hmart that deserves my hard earned money. I hope this Hmart in Yonkers closes soon with no one shopping I. The store, prices exorbitant and food court empty. At $ 200,000 or more in rent it's a waste of time. I don't recommend this store at all anymore! Hmart!!! I couldn't wait for this place to open and I am not disappointed! There's such a wide variety of produce, all super fresh. So many samples. The seafood section is amazing! We got the short ribs and the pink shrimp for a family BBQ, delicious! They have a tea shop, hot korean and japanese food, a ramen stand YUMMMM!!! Noodles, and cookies, and mochi. I've been there twice and still haven't seen everything they offer. Will definitely be going back those ribs will be on the menu all summer long. read more

I love this store but have to give it 3 stars because of the following. I was shopping here today about 30 minutes after it opened and the seafood section was not setup. I wanted to buy some blue crabs and they were not setup. When I tried to get the attention of one of the staff in the seafood department I had to nearly yell excuse me for someone to assist me. In addition to that the section where the marinaded meats are was not also adequately setup. For a place that is advertising Bubble Tea . You'd be surprised at how often they run out of tapioca (the bubbles) , seeing as central avenue and the u-turn you have to make to get to hmart is a pain in the ass you'd think they'd have one of there most popular advertised products in stock . This particular HMart does not welcome people of color. I have shopped here several times because they are very close and convenient however; It will be my last time spending a dime at this establishment. When you walk in, there is an elderly woman who refuses to share samples with people of color. She will tell you that you must purchase something first. This defeats the whole purpose because samples are meant to persuade you into buying the product. Unfortunately, I was not able to get her name. Furthermore when checking out I have had three encounters with a cashier by the name of Lilia who is very unpleasant and can you guess to what kind of customers??? Customers of color. Lilia makes it seem as if she is pained to have to help you. She will not make eye contact and will throw your receipt at you all without uttering a word. I have firsthand witnessed her checkout an Asian and Caucasian customer with hospitality and when it came time to check out myself (a person of color) her attitude completely changes. I am very friendly and have given her no reason whatsoever to treat me with such disrespect. It's very sad and unfortunate that in the year of 2020 I can walk into a supermarket and feel completely out of place simply because of my skin color. read more
