I really wanted to love this place... but we're just not vibing. I've given it multiple chances, and the service has consistently landed in the meh category. I came back recently only because I had an old gift certificate (waste not, want not), and unfortunately the experience didn't change. I paid extra for a chrome finish, and the result was uneven enough to make me question why I bothered with the upgrade. However -- plot twist -- the pedicure was fantastic. The women who do my nails are all very nice. I would give them a 5. But the owner Tracey is rude and not customer-service oriented. You ask her a question and she barks an answer to you. On top of that she is mean to her employees. Many of my friends have stopped going because of her. I continue because I want to support the women who work there. I stumbled upon this place while I was waiting for my appointment at European Wax Center and I'm so glad they were able to fit me in as a walk in! I came in on a Saturday and it was very busy but they were still able to accommodate me. I ended up getting the deluxe spa pedicure and added paraffin wax to my service. The price is absolutely amazing for how much you get! The woman who did my nails was named Kaylee and she really took her time on each and every step and made sure I enjoyed my service. I didn't feel rushed at all and was able to completely relax. The spa chairs look brand new and have a really great massaging feature. All of the employees used new bags in the foot spa and thoroughly cleaned everything between each use. They've also got a great selection of polish/gel to choose from at the front! TRUST the reviews. I didn't look here first and I regret it. I just walked in as I was going to TJ Maxx and they had availability. The owner was reprimanding a male worker off about something. Then as my service was ending she started yelling at a young woman--something about the "service costing 65 not 60, to read and that if she would have read it she would have known". It was the most awkward and embarrassing feeling to see a full grown woman being humiliated in front of me. I got up and told the nasty owner to not speak to the worker in that manner, especially in front of other people. I told her to reprimand her in private because what she was doing was humiliating. No one else in the shop said anything and probably the reason why the salon is able to stay open is people's complicity in the owners rudeness and bullying of the employees. If you do happen to come here, see something, say something. It felt like I was in a third world country where a rich master with no education or class harasses and shames their workers. Never again. She was yelling at another employee who may have been new and telling her to "think, and use her brain if she wants money!" I've gone to H2O Nails in La Canada many times over the years, but today I had a very upsetting experience and I will not be going back. I've looked online to send an email or communication directly to the owner or manager, but there's no contact info other than a phone number that I could find online. So, I'll post it here. During my manicure, I asked for a pillow to place my arm on and the woman doing my nails laughingly poked my stomach and said "You don't need a pillow, this is your pillow." I was shocked. It was so unexpected and I felt so uncomfortable with her comment. Body shaming is rude and completely inexcusable. I kindly told her that it was not a very nice thing to say, and she laughed again and said she was just joking. She never did end up giving me a pillow, instead, she just placed a washcloth on my stomach under where my hand was resting. Then she began wiping off her tool on that very washcloth. Again, I was shocked. She should be wiping that off on the towel on the side table! Before I could even say anything, she took her tool and poked my stomach a couple of times and said, that she just loved touching my belly! I had no words! This was so inappropriate and disrespectful of my body, personal space, and my feelings. As I left, there was no one at the front desk to even talk to about this. I'm still in shock processing the experience. I hope that no one else has been subjected to this insensitive and rude behavior. And I hope upon reading this, the H2O establishment will take time to reflect on how to better train their employees to be considerate of their customers. read more

Truly the saddest and unexpectedly poor services. My pedicure was a quickie and not thorough- no massage at all. My gel nails are a joke. There is hardened gel stuck to my skin and nails. There was no massage or clean up. The experience was not relaxing, enjoyable, nor was it worth the $70 either! My nail tech was immature. There was an argument between a regular customer and the queen bee - who was loud, abrasive and not mitigating the situation. The technicians all conversed with one another VERY loudly in their own languages. I speak multiple languages, but the tone and volume was audible over my AirPods, unfortunate. I'm very disappointed. Now do I go here yes, why? Because I need my nails done for my job , and they charge me 35$ for a gel manicure, 40 if they take my gel off which they often do . They almost try to convince you that any mistake they make is the correct way . I don't get anything fancy , just plain gel. To sum it up Owner is terrible. Work is fair but it's weird because when I'm there she has regulars !! And I see her treat them that way and they have set appointments with her!! I've been coming there for years and love the service. The prices are totally reasonable and the quality is there. I've been to MANY places and there is none better, especially given the price point. I'm a champagne taste on a beer budget kinda gal and this place fits the bill. Oh and the one reviewer who said they don't have free water for customers is wrong. I had a nice cold water myself the last time! I really hope they survive this Covid19 thing. I hope they are taking the free loans to keep their staff employed.
