This was our first meal in London. It really hit the spot! This restaurant is definitely upscale Indian. There are lots of options to choose from - many dishes not like ones you'd find in most Indian restaurants in the States - and they served up a great flavor. Each of our dishes was unique, and it was hard to pick a favorite. This was a nice spot to go with my parents. There seemed to be a lot of couples but also big groups dining here. Go for the Kingfisher on draft! Our waiters were very nice and just the right amount of attentive.

If you're looking for a classy Indian restaurant in Knightsbridge then this place would be it, but otherwise, I wouldn't recommend. London is known for their food and diversity, everywhere I have dined in London was nothing less than a phenomenal experience except this place. We walked in after a long day of walking around in Knightsbridge and Harrods, given the restaurant was only half full, we weren't even acknowledged to get seated until after some time. After we got seated there were no server, no water or silverware until again much later, seemed like any other short-staffed Indian/Asian restaurant to keep a business running. What we had: -Jeera Chicken -Chicken Tikka -Hariyali Kabab (no green chutney..) -Garlic naan I'm a big foodie and if the food is good I don't think twice before splurging but I've had so much better than this Indian food honestly, food quantity was very poor for the price they ask for some average Indian food and terrible customer service where they barely ever check up on you and takes forever to come when you call someone. Beautiful decor though, but that's just about it.

OMG! The best indian food in the city. Just a 5 mins walk from Harrods. The goan fish curry is an absolute must order, fish is tender and perfectly cooked! If you like spicy, tell them to make it spicier because 2 stars doesn't tickle at all. Naan is made to order and you can see the chefs preparing it through the open kitchen. Meat samosas are so good, you can really taste the lamb (although it could have been salted a little more.

A good Indian find in the heart of Knightsbridge. I had wanted British Indian food to impress, and it certainly hasn't disppointed. The lamb vindaloo looked attractive to me at first, but its 3-star spicy rating was enough to deter. I love spicy food but certainly wasn't prepared to suffer the consequences of that on this trip. Instead we went with the saam lamb. Fantasticly thick blended spicy spinach with cubed lamb perfect for a garlic naan pairing. The tandoori chicken was a bit on the dry side. Its meat also was leaner, unlike the factory farm product you'd expect back in the States. Poultry is always tricky, and fattier chickens appear to make for more forgiving outcomes. For the rice we went with the onion rice pulao. What the menu fails to mention is that it's in fact basmati rice stir fried with diced tomatos and perilla seeds. So very fragrant, so very understated. The wait service was adequate and prompt despite it being staffed with only one waiter and a bus boy. Also let it be known that they have Kingfisher on tap; that alone counts for two stars.

The nondescript facade doesn't prepare you for the bright, sleek interior of this outstanding Indian restaurant, where the busy kitchen staff is on view behind a wall of curved tinted glass. Lamb lovers have several choices, the best of which are the spicy minced lamb with fresh peas, onions, tomatoes, and chillies and the lamb vindaloo with fresh coconut milk. I also recommend the potato and cauliflower stir fry flavored with ginger, baked eggplant mashed with onions and tomatoes, and fresh tuna curry. There's a wide assortment of stuffed naans; my favorite is one topped with chopped nuts, cheese, tomato sauce, and coriander. For dessert be sure to try the delicious carrot pudding with almonds, which is something I haven't found on other Indian menus. The waiters are very friendly and attentive, and the chef is happy to spice according to a diner's request, so if you ask for medium heat that's exactly what you'll get. This Knightsbridge dining spot is worth a trip from anywhere in the city. Because it's very popular, even midweek, reservations are recommended.

The food was really good (I ordered a vegan eggplant dish) but the service wasn't so great. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well (a lentil stew and a chicken curry) however the food took forever to arrive. There weren't even that many people at all but there was no explanation as to why the food took SO long. Also, the waiter wasn't very accommodating when I asked about vegan options. He was also not very understanding when I made a few requests about my food. Considering the service and how the food wasn't amazing, the place was quite overpriced. If you're in the area and craving Indian food, Haandi is a good option but otherwise, it's nothing that special.

We managed to snag a reservation here before coming to London on a Saturday around 6:30 PM. We got there right on time and and our table was ready immediately. We had great booth in the back of the restaurant so it wasn't too loud. We all ordered some drinks when we sat down and opted for a Kingfisher to drink. For appetizers, we got some samosas and chili chicken which were delicious! They also gave us some of these rice crackers with different sauces which were delicious. For our entrees, we got some biryani, ruby chicken and rice, malai chicken, the gunpowder potatoes and 3 orders of naan! It was all delicious! The biryani with the yogurt sauce is my personal favorite but their garlic naan is great too. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake and I opted for the chai to end the meal which was delicious! My family tried seafood tasting menu (£125 pp approx $160) but they also offer vegetarian tasting menu for a slightly lower fare £115 pp Their Cod was probably one of the best we ever had. Oyster 2 ways was served very creative, cold with smoked red pepper and hot, pan fried with pepper masala. Vegetarian tasting menu was a bit of disappointment. They started with banana stem soup which was served warm almost tepid, to me soup should be hot. I had to return it. Rest of vegetarian menu seemed like regular South Indian dishes and taste was just ok. Service was quite sub par considering the expectation of a Michelin star restaurant. Our drinks were not filled on time.. we ordered a bottle of champagne and had to hunt down our server to refill it as he kept it in a bucket far away from us. The staff lacked experience in describing the dish. After the dessert course, one of the servers got something sweet in a plate, just kept it and left. I asked her what it was and she had no idea. Overall it was not the experience we expected compared to other Michelin star Indian restaurants in London. But we would definitely go back to have that black cod from ala carte menu.

A friend of the chef organized this dinner for us, and like many other fancy Indian restaurants, they do have a rather silly children policy, but thanks to our host, an exception was made for us.
