OMG!!! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! I ordered for delivery. The food arrived hot, delicious and sooooooo satisfying!! Best Cuban food that I have had in Vegas so far. Authentic, beautifully seasoned and packaged. Huge portion, and did I mention delicious?? SHEESH! The Beef Empanada was crispy on the outside (not oily/soggy), and the crema they sent to accompany it was delicious. We were on the other side of town today. So we stopped at this Cuban Restaurant for something different. Wrong time to try that!! I ordered shredded beef and got a steak so tough. I almost sent it back/. I should have. For what I paid for it. But the girl taking the order did not understand English very well. I was afraid of sending it back and get what in return?? As even the waitstaff was very Englis poor!! We also order a shrimp Encalada and got shrimp in tomato sauce, it was good but where is the Encalada??? My brother said why not order a pizza as they were selling a ton while we were there. OK, trouble ordering it as well. We got it to go and tried it when we got home. I liked it, my brother did not. I was told they have good Cuban food. Place is located on Eastern and Tropicana in Las Vegas. Place is nice, simply decorated, I would say roomy. Parking ample. My first time here. You had to place your order right after you come in. Menu is displayed to your left as you enter. I had to try and find what I wanted as I felt hurried... I ordered Garlic Shrimp with rice and black beans, and plantain. I had to wait about 15 minutes before my food came out, noticed that people who arrived after me got their orders first... My plate came with the shrimp, rice, plantain, and some salad. The rice was really good and had bits of meat. Plantains we're deliciously sweet. Salad was good accompaniment. The shrimp however, were overcooked and made it tough. Thus the three stars. The garlic butter sauce was good though. I ordered a pineapple soda to wash it down. I noticed that my receipt had a 75 cent charge for using a card... just letting you all know. I will return to try their other dishes but I'll stay away from shrimp dishes... As a new residebt of Vegas, I've been checking off a bunch of local restaurants. Habano's is conveniently located off of Tropicana Ave just a few miles from the Strip. You counter order and then find seating, with the food being delivered once it's ready. It is not fast food but is made to order so a wait is usually required. This time I went on a weekday and the restaurant was packed with locals. I had a sandwich, my partner the biotechnology plate with rice. He was okay with the meat cut but really liked the rice. I had an amazing Cuban Sandwich. The bread on the sandwich was amazing. The drinks were a little pricy with a can of soda running $3.15 but there were some great juice options available. There were also some nice postre options. I will definitely return. read more

A friend of mine had been bragging about how delicious a Cuban pizza is.. so we made our way to his favorite spot, Habanos. Now, the restaurant is easily accessible either through South Eastern or East Tropicana... it is off the corner of the shopping center located at the corner of these streets. The restaurant is pleasantly folkloric and inviting, spacious, big enough to have the whole family over, clean and well kept. The host was friendly, I had never thought there would be a Cuban pizza but she hyped it up for me to try it along with a Malta Goya... here it comes! At glance it was a nice size personal pizza with big slices of pepperoni on it, the cheese was thick (not sure if they have vegan option) and good... not bad of a pizza, similar to a deep dish, but I believe my friend over hyped it haha. The Malta drink has a peculiar taste, quite delicious but really incomparable... you gotta try it for yourself! I will come back because I see the other traditional plates that look great as well and I really want to try those as I am aware of the great seasonings that Cuba has to offer. read more

We ordered a couple of coffees and one dessert. Cuban coffee is tasty and strong! Sip slowly to enjoy or drink fast. If your heart races afterwards drink a lot of water. I randomly stumbled upon this place by accident but I was glad I did! I was looking for something hearty for breakfast and just ordered a simple egg with chorizo. It was simple but filling. The chorizo was a tad bit over salted so I didn't eat much of the chorizo part. The coffee was excellent, be warned it's super strong, but if you can tolerate strong coffee it should be fine. The server was prompt and polite. And there is plenty of space, several large booths, very casual environment where people can choose where to sit. read more

As a Cuban-American, I do have high standards as far as Cuban food. The wife and I decided to change gears and try Habanos Cafe. From what I can tell, it has definitely lost any magic it had. Ordered a combo with chicken and another with pork. The pork was dry and the black beans were "sosas" (no flavor). I usually talk a bit with staff (in Spanish), but they definitely were not in a friendly mood. My wife agreed that it was not up to par. Incredibly slow service and the food is not that good. I went on my lunch break and it took over 45 minutes to receive my order. I had to go back to work and first asked for to go since I had to get back then was just going to ask for a refund. I waited and got the to go. Not good at all, especially for the price. Dry meat with overdone dark onions 4/10, Arroz Con Gris dry/no flavor 4/10, Fried Platains 7/10, salad 9/10. Tried the pizza 8/10, had a different cheese flavor and dough was good. Ambiance was ok and it was self seating, no waiters/waitress to see if you need anything. That being said no service so not sure why tipping was requested for paying at counter. Habanos Cafe is in the spot that used to be occupied by Cici'S Pizza. Pizza is still served here but this place is a wold apart and absolutely for the better. I have been craving ropa vieja. Habanos Cafe has it on their menu so that is what I ordered. I got it with Cuban style rice and beans and tostones. It also came with a salad. I felt like dessert too so I ordered flan to be brought out after lunch. The rice and beans were great. A nice dark color and and earthy richness to them. The ropa vieja was singing all the right notes. It was a little salty and little sour in the best possible ways. When added to the rice and placed atop the tostones, brilliant. It was so good. Even the salad, simple as it was, was enjoyable. Though shredded lettuce is kind of an odd choice in a salad. My meal was incredible. Sadly, the flan was less impressive. To me, there was a bitter taste. Almost as if they had scorched the sugar. I could have done without that. Or at the very least taken it with me. I was so full from lunch that I really didnt need dessert. Service was fast, friendly, and courteous. The restaurant was clean. Tables are spread apart nicely. And the food, for the most part, was outstanding. I enjoyed Habanos Cafe and fully intend on visiting again. The pastries that were almost left at my table by mistake looked great. So this place was cicis pizza an now it's a Cubana restaurant....... I stopped in after work on my way to marketon I love pastels...... I ordered 2 pastel with meat $ 5.96! So about 3 dollars each The puff pastry was good the meat was flavorful but it had maybe a teaspoon of hamburger meat that is highway robbery It's exactly like how everyone in Cuba is getting robbed with the prices of food inflation is rampant So maybe the other food is reasonable priced but this particular item is a crazy price I can't believe it What a sad thing to do I would rather give my hard earned money to someone that is not trying to overcharge me. Stop by Habanos Cafe yesterday for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised to discover the homemade taste of the food Cuban food being served there. I ordered the steak with white and black beans. It came with a side salad and maduros. It was delicious. I got for my Mom the yellow rice with shrimp ( arroz con camarones) she love it. I also ordered a beef pastelito and a Cuban tamal. Both were also super tasty. Since we enjoyed the food so much we decided to take home two Cuban sandwiches and a couple of pastelitos de guayaba for dinner. We were not disappointed. The sandwiches were loaded with roasted pork, ham and Swiss cheese. They were tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious homemade Cuban food. read more
