    Shrimp and grits
    Rebecca S.

We came with a reservation for brunch but definitely didn't need one. The restaurant was pretty empty at 9am on a Sunday. The staff was quick to seat us, though not particularly inviting or welcoming. The restaurant was small but quiet and we sat at a nice table by the window. We started with the beignets and they were fantastic. I loved the jams that came with them. My sister got the shrimp and grits and reported they were great. I got a BYO omelette. It was great aside from a small hair found inside. Honestly the rest of the experience was positive so I wasn't really that bothered. The home fries were classic and tasty. I'd probably try other brunch spots nearby before returning, but overall I had a good experience here!

We stopped in for a quick bite after leaving the Carolina Theater. The menu is very basic for an Uptown restaurant-but it's very reasonably priced. The food was okay at its best. It's not somewhere I'd recommend for a special occasion of any sort. It's nicely decorated and has a nice ambiance but the service is very lax, too lax to be honest. If you're staying at the hotel and don't feel like ordering delivery or heading out it would suffice but it's definitely not worth a trip to the city for.

Charming and a great location for the theaters. The drinks weren't bad. Prices were about average. Their math wasn't mathin' though. Their pre fixe dinner menu (the special) was a choice of soup or Spinach dip. One of three entrees and then a dessert for $45 dollars hmmm seems ok? Right?? Wrong. If you looked at the regular menu- and compared prices to the Pre fixe menu, you'd notice it was $6 more expensive to order the pre fixe menu than just ordering the same items separately! As for the food- meh. My salmon was ok, the roasted potatoes were salty, and the veggies were still a bit cold and tasted like the preseasons bag veggies from the store frozen section. We also got the pork chop. It was pretty good. The chutney added flavor for sure, and the mashed potatoes were good. I may stop in for a quick drink on the way to the theater but other than that.. I'd pass. $108 for two 'decent' dinners and three adult beverages.

Price fix menu for Lion King

I enjoyed the 3 course price fixe menu for the Lion King show and it was lovely. Highly recommend a reservation since it is a small venue, but I arrived early and was able to be seated. Wednesdays is half off bottles of wine. I enjoyed deviled eggs, salmon and chocolate cake. The service was very good!

As a native of Charlotte I am absolutely ashamed that I have not been here before. I probably had the best burger ever in my life. Service was great, ambience amazing and everything very clean. Only thing that could make this experience better is if they had live jazz in the lobby of the hotel. I will definitely be back.

Everything was just kind of okay. The deviled eggs were nothing special. We liked the mac and cheese. The grits in the shrimp & grits were god, just nothing impressed me as part of a really good meal.

    Eggs over easy. Done correctly.

Stayed at The Dunhill and had breakfast here, part of the hotel. Excellent. Service wonderful and prompt. Homemade biscuit divine. Grits good. Added on the jalapeno and Gouda potato pancake and glad I did. Just slightly creamy and spicy. Such delicate flavors. A real standout. 16 dollars not including tip. A bit expensive but not for a hotel restaurant on the main street of a fair sized city. Clean. Comfortable chairs. Very hospitable, inviting me to stay as long as I wished even though they were closing for an hour, before reopening for lunch. Great art, good music and a quiet and calming atmosphere. Recommended strongly.

This is one of my go to places for lunch or after work cocktails! The sticky buns and salmon lunch dish are amazing! The server who works lunch is incredible! The atmosphere is very elegant and great for a business lunch.

WOW...One of the best stakes of my life! The Angus Beef Delmonico Ribeye Steak was absolutely fantastic. The meat melted in the mouth and was cooked perfectly. The Canadian Salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. Drinks from the bar were A+. The Sticky Biscuits were yummy too.

The Asbury is quaint, but elegant. The inside is fairly small but they can accommodate a medium-sized group. They also offer a few patio tables out front. We made a reservation for a Sunday brunch. The sticky biscuits were my favorite. The icing is a little sweet, but overall, they were delicious. The coffee was bland, but I appreciated the flavor creamer options. The pancakes were good, but not exactly special. The staff was attentive, but not especially friendly. Everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. Parking deck was closed and the staff was not particularly helpful in finding an alternative. Please note, they Only validate for the 5th st. Parking garage

It's been years since I've eaten at the Asbury and their recent reviews have been a little rough, so I was nervous having brunch here a few weekends back. BUT, omg! This was one of the best brunches I've had in a LONG time. The staff was great, helpful and all the things. But the star of the show was my food and my friends food too. I ordered the chicken and waffles, it was cooked to perfection and came with hot honey!!! So so so so good!!!! I added scrambled eggs with cheese and they were delicious as well. My friend ordered their banana pudding pancakes and I tasted those too and almost regretted my order haha. Next time I'll just ordered both! The food was REALLY that good! I'll definitely be back sooner rather than later for another delicious brunch!

Such a nice brunch spot with reasonable prices! We were really wanting a Sunday brunch. This place you have to reserve for and I see why! The food was so good. We were the first to arrive that morning so we missed the big rush. The staff was very friendly and the vibe was great. I would visit again.

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

I was very excited to come dine here but was left feeling very conflicted…read more On one hand, I had the best chicken and waffles ever. The chicken tenders were soft and tender, with a crispy and well seasoned fried skin. Not too strong, but just enough to really appreciate the chicken. The waffles had this really nice bouncy chew to it, similar to a mochi donut. Really enhanced further by the syrup and amazing texture difference when you get any of the crispy chicken over the waffle. But on the other hand, everything else we ordered and the service while we were there were lacking. We had a reservation for lunch on a Sunday, and were seated very quickly. But then it took a very long time for a waiter to come to us. Once the waiter did arrive, we weren't greeted or introduced, simply just a "know what you want?". On top of that, when asking what was in the quiche of the day and the market rate we got a "idk maybe 14 or 15" and then what we were told was in the quiche was just not true haha. We were told there would be some vegetables and cheese, but ended up with no cheese and a lot of potatoes inside our quiche. The food did come very fast after we ordered so that was a plus. I think the main reason this experience left a bad feeling was because the table next to us had the same waiter and got a completely different experience. The waiter walked them through the menu, told them about the history of the restaurant, and told them a completely different (but this time accurate?) price and contents of the quiche of the day! I'm glad the chicken and waffles were fantastic, but it is sort of hard to enjoy your meal when you see completely different service from your waiter just one table next to you :(

How it works: Follow @so_science on Instagram, and they'll post the week's menu over the weekend. The themes vary every week, so keep an eye on it! You have until midnight on Tuesday to email them with your order. Pretty easy process, especially if you live close by. So far we've gotten dishes from their BBQ menu (brisket, bbq beans, cheese and mac) and their Greek menu (moussaka with side Greek salad, gyro with fries). Everything is restaurant quality. Let me rephrase: everything is excellent restaurant quality! Like what I would expect if I went to a BBQ joint or Greek spot that specialize in that type of cuisine. Pretty incredible. We originally found out about HA's from a neighbor, and I added this business page to Yelp to be able to share my photos and experiences to help spread the word about this awesome local spot!
