Lobster Mac & Cheese, Pork Chops, Shrimp Grits w/ Lobster Tail, Seafood Platter, Collard Greens and Candied Yams

We made a last-minute reservation for three at 10:45 p.m., and they were able to seat us when we arrived about 20 minutes early, which was a great start to the evening. As soon as you walk in, you see beautiful red roses throughout the restaurant, making it a romantic/upscale atmosphere. The R&B music playing in the background really adds to the vibe. We were seated at one of the high-top tables in the bar area, but there was plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs, making it a great spot for both small and large parties. We started with the chargrilled oysters, and for only my second time trying them, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them. They were flavorful and delicious! I also ordered a Lemon Drop martini, which was a bit sweeter than I prefer. It didn't taste like it had much alcohol, but if you enjoy sweeter cocktails, you may like it. For our entrées, we ordered the seafood platter, smothered pork chops, and shrimp and grits, along with sides of lobster mac and cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. Overall, the food was great! Everything was well-seasoned, crispy where it needed to be, and packed with flavor. The only downside was the smothered pork chops, which were a bit too salty with every bite; possibly from the gravy? But the meat itself was incredibly tender. I'd give this experience an 8/10. The food and atmosphere make Kitchen + Kocktails a place I'd definitely recommend to others, and I look forward to coming back to try more!

I suggest Kitchen & Kocktails! I have heard mixed reviews. Mostly about price point. My sweet husband picked Kitchen Kocktails for my birthday dinner. Good choice!! The soundtrack of our dinner was an immaculate current and 90s mix. The strawberry jalapeno margarita was a hint of jalapeno and sweet strawberry with a tajin rim. My husband had the smoked old fashion and said it's the best he's had so far. We didn't do an appetizer. We jumped straight to entrees. The fish platter, the chicken fried chicken with brown gravy over mashed potatoes, and the Mac n cheese. EVERYTHING was delicious!!! Crispy fish, hush puppies, fries, and shrimp. Well seasoned chicken smothered in yummy gravy. And the mac n cheese tasted homemade. Staff knew we needed take home boxes and just showed up before we asked. Highly recommend!!

Finally!! I've been considering this restaurant since they open here in Charlotte and it finally happened today! I made reservations for 6:15 and we arrived at 6:12 and was immediately seated. The restaurant was almost a full capacity which I was surprised about considering the tone of day. It took longer than expected for anyone to come over to our table once seated (maybe 10 mins) but once she came. I think her make was Makayla and see was really nice and told us what sooner of her favorites were. I decided on the catfish, Mac & cheese and collard greens. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned! That fish was fried right okay! Hubs got the grits, fried lobster tail and blackened shrimp. So good! Loved the music they were playing and the volume was perfect. Tables are pretty closer together. Overall, great experience and food was AMAZING! I was scared to come because o heard that you'll wait too long even with a reservation. Happy that wasn't my experience. Planning to go back.

This spot was a hit! I wish we had planned ahead to get seating downstairs because the decorations were so cool. We sat at the bar upstairs though and had the best time. Our bartender Jasmine was super sweet and had the best recommendations. From the drinks to the food (my gosh the oxtail was ridiculously good) everything was perfect. I wish I could have ordered everything off the menu. It is a bit pricey but you're getting quality so don't even bat an eye. I highly recommend this spot for a date, but birthday dinner, or looking to grab a bite with the girls. I would not recommend bringing kids here. 10/10! I'm looking forward to going back.

Ronnie provided excellent service from start to finish. He was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we felt taken care of the entire time. He stayed on top of everything--our drinks were always refilled, and he checked in at the right moments without being intrusive. His professionalism and positive attitude really stood out and made the experience even better. Overall, Ronnie delivered top-tier service and helped make our visit enjoyable. I would definitely look forward to being served by him again. The food and drinks were also amazing!

Went on Sunday for lunch. Parking was challenging with being downtown. Paid to park in the garage. There are reservations made and a time limit. My server, Kalysta was nice and friendly. We ordered a few appetizers including lobster bites and oysters. I got the chicken with mac & cheese. I loved all of the food. It was seasoned really well and tasty. I will definitely be back. Wish there was another location in the southern end of the county for those in the Metro area. Nice staff and wonderful food.

Coming from Raleigh with high expectations, this place exceeded every one of them. It truly checked all the boxes -- incredible food, outstanding service, and an amazing ambiance. The cocktails were fresh, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. The olives were some of the best I've ever had -- served fresh with a light drizzle of oil... chef's kiss! I had never experienced olives prepared quite like that before. The breakfast pizza was perfectly crisp with generous, flavorful toppings -- and it even reheated beautifully the next day. The biscuit and gravy was the perfect balance of a fluffy, buttery biscuit topped with a crispy fried chicken breast and rich, house-made gravy that tied it all together. If you're looking to elevate your palate and truly treat your taste buds, this is the spot. From the cocktails to the appetizers, entrées, and desserts, everything was impressive. And if you visit on a Sunday, the live music creates an unbeatable atmosphere that makes the entire experience even more special. I can't wait to go back!

It's probably not a good sign when your server hasn't shown up after 12 minutes, and when you go back to the hostess stand, she says, "Let me go find her." Yeah... I already knew this probably wasn't going to end well. Come to find out, Kitchen & Cocktails has a very limited beverage menu. Everything we tried to order, they didn't have. Beer? Nope. Non-alcoholic margarita or mocktail? Nope. Their daiquiris are pre-mixed, so apparently customization is not a thing here. Basically, if you wanted something non-alcoholic or even just simple, good luck. Strong pre-made cocktails seemed to be the entire personality of the bar. Now let's talk food. The menu photos are BEAUTIFUL. Very inviting. Study them carefully because those pictures are apparently actual size and actual serving quantities. I ordered the red beans and rice with fried chicken. What arrived was one fried chicken wing. ONE. Not wings. Wing. Singular. The beans were spicy but decent enough. Then I tasted the rice. The rice wasn't cooked. At all. It felt like wet grains poured straight onto the plate. Completely ruined the meal. So now I have to explain why the rice is still sitting there untouched and rolling around the plate. And I'm pissed because I have these hard granular stuck in my teeth. Fresh rice eventually came out, and yes, that batch was cooked, but by then the moment was gone. Other people at the table ordered catfish, which was actually a beautiful large portion, BUT all the sides are à la carte and ridiculously overpriced. Mac and cheese and other sides starting around $12-$20? Come on now. There were also grilled pork chops at the table. Thin doesn't even describe them. We're talking paper-thin, quick-flash-on-the-grill pork chops that came back flavorless. The peach cobbler was okay. I mean... sugar is sugar. What really seals the deal is the automatic 20% gratuity added to every check, regardless of service quality. So whether your server disappears for 12 minutes or not, they're getting paid. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting: * good service * a cold beer * decent mocktails * reasonably priced sides * flavorful Southern food * or enough food to actually get full If I order chicken wings, I expect at least two. There's that.

Rox: coming from living in Louisiana for 4 years, I know a good catfish, red beans and rice, and shrimp and grits. Everything here was AMAZING, no critiques. Not pictured--but be sure to get a side of the Mac & cheese. Inside was cute and decorated and service was great. It is a lil pricey though. Mike: loved everything we had including picking off of everyone else's plates that weren't pictured. Hands down the best red beans and rice I've ever had, Sorry Rox, yes, better than Neyows... Lemon pepper cat fish was crispy and perfect! Only comment would be a different corn bread. If we make it back to Charlotte, we'll be back!

We arrived to the restaurant where we seated promptly. We had reservations. The music is always nice and family friendly. I enjoyed all my food. I believe brunch is always a sure bet here. Chicken is always hot and tasty. I would definitely suggest brunch. The waitress was super kind and sweet.

Out of this world ...Food, service. Ambiance off the chart outstanding. Globe trotting through Charlotte and read about K&K, and believe me the readings were less than accurate. Meaning it was beyond great. If and when in the area treat yourself.

The wait staff were very very inattentive. We waited at least 10-15 minutes between seeing our wait person and we were one of 4 tables in the place.

We were a walk in but were able to score a table outside which was perfect. The drinks are good and the staff members work as a team so there's not one primary waitress. I ordered a custom drink where I told the server what I liked and the bartender created something based on my likes. It was a "fruity" tequila based drink and I enjoyed it. We were given a bowl of complementary kettle corn to enjoy with our drinks. The music was a mix of r&b and hip hop and was loud enough to vibe but didn't overpower the conversations. There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

He first suggested a cranberry spritzer, then recommended a lemon drop and a strawberry chipotle mojito. Unfortunately, both drinks were disappointing. The lemon drop was bland, and the strawberry chipotle mojito barely tasted like it had any alcohol and was also lacking flavor. We were told the upstairs comedy club had recently been renovated. While it looked updated, I was surprised by how small the stage was. The seating also felt cramped, with four people expected to share a very small table.
