Spent some time in the ER next door - it's hot outside in Summer, who knew? Anyhoo, popped in to Habit for a solid recovery meal. Habit up on Glendale and 7th Ave is THE business. Great charburgers. Here? Not-so-much. Fries were really okay, soda selection is better than I remembered, but, the burger was not the crowning glory to match the joy of my ER release. In short, way too much lettuce. There was so much it would fall out the sides as I took bite after bite (and yes I took napkin precautions). By the end my tray was awash with lettuce awash with Mayo. I know it makes the presentation look great, but it wasn't fun to eat. Plus, the burger edges hadn't been charred to give it that crisp bite. You know, kind of an expected thing. Anyways. This was my second time giving The Habit another chance, and unfortunately, they failed again. I ordered inside using the kiosk by the door, and it didn't print a receipt. Even though I placed my order before several people, six others were able to order at the counter and received their food before I did. When I went to the front to ask about my order, they had trouble finding it. The employee told me he'd check on it, but forgot--and when I finally got my food, it was completely cold. The fries tasted like they had been sitting out for 20+ minutes. I asked to speak with the manager, Frank, who told me he couldn't issue a refund without a receipt. I even showed him the $15.04 charge on my bank app, but he still refused and only offered a voucher. That makes no sense--if they batch their reports nightly, they should be able to look up the transaction and refund it properly. After going back and forth for a few minutes, I decided to leave. This experience is unacceptable. The way they handle customers and basic service issues is completely disappointing. I tried giving them a second chance, and they completely fumbled again. I'm not sure why this location has such a bad review, I've never had rude or disrespectful employees here before. I don't come here often, maybe 4 times a year, however I feel the staff is friendly, helpful and have always fixed any issues I've ever had. There was a find raiser happening when I visited today so it was LOUD lol but the high school girls volleyball team was polite and respectful of other guests (hope you guys made some money). The food was excellent I love their burgers. They accommodated my request to cut my dad's burger in half with no issues. We had a char combo, Santa Barbara char, half and half fries and onion rings and I tried a new dish the grilled cauliflower with garlic sauce. They got a 4 only because I had to go back up for the half and half, but I only think that happened because they brought the food out prior to the buzzer, I dint think it got a final check. The cauliflower was on the cold side, I'm sure it cooked fast... but was also really soft and I guess I expected grilled cauliflower to be crispier, the garlic? Wow very garlic my son would love it so I'm bringing it home to him, along with 1/2 my Santa Barbara which I can never finish...lol I will eat that tomorrow. Side note: very wheelchair accessible. However if you are bringing a guest in a walker and can't get one of the 2 spots in front....sigh good luck. My Teriyaki Burger had no teriyaki sauce and no pineapple! My friends Ahi Tuna Filet had no tartar sauce. The app did not charge for sauce, but when we picked the order up. This is a review of Habit Burger in Laveen. I've been going here for around a year about once a week. I never had any issues until a couple days ago. My normal order is 2 char-burgers, one a combo with drink and one with just fries and a cup for water. This week, they refused to give out a cup for water. So, an order for over $24 and they won't give out a cup for water? I walked out and don't plan to come back. Pretty bad experience after such a good one last week. I ordered via the drive thru and there was one other car waiting for their order to come out. I ordered a #1, with lettuce instead of a bun plus a jalapeño char burger and fries. Sadly there were problems with all three items, along with the service. The car that had been waiting for 5-7 mins in front of me still didn't have their order when I pulled up. He waited 12 more mins for his small bag of food. Then I pulled up to the window and the young lady was very pleasant but couldn't control the disaster that was happening in the kitchen. I also waited 12 more minutes but upon opening the bag, was disheartened. The lettuce wrap burger came with a bun. My wife is gluten intolerant so she had to throw it away. My burger had such a stale bun, it thumped when I flicked it. The fries were so undercooked, a two inch fry doubled over when held vertically. Had to toss those too. Horrible cook on staff today. I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon. Update: I was comped for the meal and decided to give them a new try. I ordered a kid's hamburger meal, a Charburger with fries and a BBQ Bacon Charburger. I took it to go but checked the bag first. I did like the store interior: it was clean, with a pepper bar that included jalapeños, whole banana peppers and sliced banana peppers, Along with sauces like A1, Tabasco and Cholula. My lunch arrived in about six minutes. All items were made just as ordered, with hot fries, cooked patties and correct items. Visited twice this week. Once I had the Patty Melt. Then I had a Double Char. Both were quite tasty. However neither order was correct. I order on their app so I can customize my options, and not risk being misheard, or forgetting what I want when I order. They make the basic burger very well, but customizations seem to be difficult for them. Maybe their computer system makes it difficult, or maybe they're just bad at their jobs. I always get mustard, mayo, and ketchup on my burgers, and I always omit the pickles and tomato. Neither of my burgers tasted like they had the correct condiments. I left lettuce on the Double Char, but didn't receive it. I was watching them make my Double Char, and noticed that the gentleman constructing the burger repeatedly looking at his screen like it was hieroglyphics. He seemed very confused. When he handed my half-wrapped burger to the gentleman that seemed to be bagging everything up I overheard that gentleman questioning about the specifics of my customization. The first guy looked as if he was arguing. Then the second guy shrugged his shoulders as if to say "whatever". On both visits I was given the incorrect side sauces I ordered. The first time I got ranch, but no sweet mustard. The second time I got the sweet mustard, but no ranch... The burgers themselves are cooked nicely, have a great flavor, but it's a shame you can't get it the way you ask for it. They have signage inside touting that their specialty is customized burgers. I ordered the family bundle for curbside pickup and everything went smoothly. I placed the order through the app. The order was ready on time. The fries seemed like they were old and just cooked again after sitting too long. The burgers were good, just a little salty. The chicken bites were a little spicy although there was no indication that they would be. The strawberry shake and banana water shake were amazing. Now having to go inside, was told it wasn't even ready yet but they "do not do curbside". Why have curbside as an option if your employees refuse to walk outside. I love the habit and for the most part my order here is correct. Recently I noticed they stop giving ranch with their tempura green beans and thought it was odd considering they used to give ranch free. I asked the lady at the speaker if the green beans come with ranch and she said no. Is this a silly thing to complain about?? Yeah most likely! But I will say that it's little penny pinching that turns me off as a loyal customer... especially when the sign says it comes with ranch and online says the same. So while you may have gotten an extra 1.50 out of me this time... I promise you lost more business when it's all said and done. read more

I ordered a Burger from this place and it was thrown together with too much mayonnaise and the pickles along with the sauce made the burger soggy. I am vegan and request no sautéed onions or mayo on my impossible burger and when I got home which is 1/2 mile away, the burger was almost as cold as the condiments and fries were not fresh and brown looking. I decided to heat the patty up in the air fryer and not complain because its a newer spot, but when I noticed that they attempted to scrap off the sautéed onions and left some on along with greasy reminisce of the sauce from the onion, thats when I said I need to complain. I spent $31.98 on a meal for me and my husband at a drive thru and we were utterly disgusted with our meals. My thoughts were we should have gone to Burger King! There was no way to call directly to business and was directed to the website. You need to do better and respect peoples dietary choices and not pass on quality of food and service over how fast you can disperse food to get the line down. I had a horrible experience in the drive through. It took 45 minutes to get through 7 cars so i could order - i go to order and noone answers - i thought "oh okay! This is why its so slow - the ordering thing is broken". So i pull up past it and immediately hear the car behind me gets greeted to take their order - super frustrating. So i get to the window and explain the situation and the cashier was very understanding but the manager she was very rude and dismissive. Second time tried ordering ahead for pick up. Waited over an hour, still no food. They had no problem charging me for the food. Then they lost my order and told me to call corporate office for a refund. The only way to get a refund is to fill out the complaint form online. Still no food and out $37. Employees there had no clue what they were doing nor did they even care. Not an apology or nothing. No sorry for the wait or so sorry we are behind, nothing, just lousy customer service and a complete lack of empathy for screwing up so many orders. So many people left empty handed and pissed off. Still others had been waiting for over an hour. Was hoping they would do well but with the completely incompetent staff and lousy attitude and 0 customer service they will never make it. Ordered a delivery from Habit Burger in Laveen online. My order was a burger, fries and shake. I was told by the delivery driver before he arrived that Habit Burger didn't have the ingredients to make the shake I ordered however I was still charged. The driver asked if there was anything like a soda that they could substitute and they said no due to the price. Yet I was still charged for a shake not delivered. I tried calling Habit Burger immediately and couldn't get through. I messaged their customer service immediately about it on their website and still haven't heard back.
