I especially love the super smoking hot french fries. My only hiccup was I ordered a chicken fried steak sandwich and received somebody's burger with no cheese. Womp womp :(. I didn't tell the bartender who was busy with the lunchtime blue collar workers. I just take it as my cue to come back and re-order that chicken fried steak sandwich. Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. That's what was playing on the old jukebox as we made ourselves comfortable in what is a classic, back-in-the-70s, non-pretentious, neighborhood dive bar. The place is right out of a movie (maybe "Roadhouse" or "Urban Cowboy minus the mechanical bull). It's part biker bar, part honky Tonk, pub, and cocktail bar. We came for the burgers and were not disappointed. They were absolutely solid and worth it in every way. The nice, fresh beef patty was grilled to perfection and set in a soft bun with all the usual trimmings. I'd recommend you add thousand island for an extra touch of goodness. The resulting burger was juicy and meaty and drippy and excellent. It was not a throwaway "bar-food" item. The menu has a lot of great things in it, including sandwiches and all manner of comfort food and bar staples. A big surprise were the onion rings and ranch dressing. They were some of the best I'd had in a while. I found them better than the fries which were fairly standard. Others have complained about the service, but ours was really good at lunchtime on a weekday. Our server was also the bartender, and she was attentive and nice, albeit busy with all the workers that frequent this joint. It's filled with a mix of blue-collar, cops, office people, truckers, bikers, and just plain folks. And they play some great songs on the jukebox. Definitely worth it. And try one of the burger variations on the menu (with bacon or mushrooms, avocado, etc). read more

Quite surprised on how good the burger was. Great atmosphere. It was like walking into an old bar.. correction it was literally walking into an old bar. Super cool, pictures dollars everywhere. Had this place on my list to checkout for awhile and what a little gem. Their burgers and wings were so good. Cheap beers too! Love the good old dive bar feel. As for service, it fits the dive bar hospitality. Just be nice and patient. read more

We were on the south side of town and wanted to find a place where we could order a beer and get a bite to eat. We were hesitant when we pulled in Mother's, we just didn't have a good feeling about it. We should have followed our first mind and kept going. The bartender walked up didn't greet us and asked what we were drinking. Hello goes a long way with me so right off the bat I wasn't feeling the place. We came looking for food , we had the menus in hand, she didn't ask if we wanted to buy food. She brings our beer and walks away. My friend asked if we could have napkins.. it seemed like he was disturbing her. I have never drank a beer so fast, we wanted to get out of that place. When my friend got her attention to ask for the check before he could ask, she asked if we wanted to order food, if we come here often, how was our day... a little to late at this point ..we paid .. didn't tip and will never return. This place is non descript from the outside. I had to ask where the door was, once inside I felt like a record scratched to a halt.... I seemed to be the only female in the joint outside of the ladies who worked there. Confident in myself, and need for lunch, I walked to the bar and asked if I could just pick a spot. Once in my booth I enjoyed reading all the fun signs, road markers, and checking out the "saloon" style vibe. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and a soda. I wish my soda had been served in a regular cup, but it was in a styrofoam "to go" cup, I'm guessing a COVID shift. Regardless, it was ice cold and refreshing. My food came up quick, which was good because I was hungry and in a hurry. My burger was packed and fresh off the griddle. The cheese was oozing out the sides, shredded lettuce was piled on nicely and chunky grilled onions added a great flavor. Topped with only Mayo, they brought me catsup and mustard to the table to add myself. The burger was really good. Really messy, but good. Just what I would expect! The real star of this plate was the fries. Now I usually lean towards a thick steak fry, but these were skinnier, shoe string shaped French fries. They were crispy and hot and perfectly perfect! Pro tip: this is a casual crowd so better to not enter looking like you just jumped of the plane from LA ;) read more

Yummy little dive bar with pretty good burgers! The door is around the side and hard to find and the waitress was pretty crass, but burgers were juicy and fries were piping hot. Not a 5 star kinda place. But def worthy of 4 stars. Surprisingly clean for such an old rickety building. read more

Found this little neighborhood bar and grill via yelp. We had the boneless fried chicken, french dip sandwich and fish/chips. Everything was excellent including the frys and batter fried onion rings. Heather was incredible. She was tending bar, waiting tables and doing the cooking!!! Don't be put off by the look of the outside. Draft Beer was very cold, food was excellent and service was great. We stopped in tonight wanting a big juicy burger and the Yelp review did not disappoint. We got the Mouse burger double patty and fries. Burger was delicious and juicy and the fries were spot on. I couldn't finish my burger because it was too big. I'll get the single patty next time. But my BF ate all of his Burger and fries. It does appear to have a lot of regulars at the bar, but everyone seemed friendly . The waitress was also the bartender and chef and she did an excellent job. Her name was Heather !!! 3.5 stars. I decided to try this little place out for lunch today. I had the cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was presently good and served on a grilled bun. I love when they grill the buns. It was also a decent sized burger, way bigger than I was expecting. I'd definitely eat here again. The only thing I would suggest is bring cash unless you want to be charged a $1 fee for using a credit card, which I thought was absurd. read more

In Phoenix for work during the week and not many options other than food truck brought some of my colleagues to Mother's, for lack of better closer restaurants. And, who does not like a burger, right? Mother's sounded like the perfect dive bar and, yes, I liked the style, but I guess I would have enjoyed more during a Friday night than for a quick lunch. I think the hype is not worth, the burger was pretty insipid. Not the type of homey burger I was expecting, and same for my colleagues, but at least were fast. Stopped her after doing an auction run to Nellis. This is an old school bar and restaurant. The menu photos on Yelp are a bit out of date but prices have not gone up a lot for the size of food you receive. I'd call this very reasonable. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Tina was just really nice and helpful. She made the experience even better. The fries are A-Mazing! Nicely done and crispy. I'd go back just for the fries! Burgers are HUGE! When it says a double patty know these are massive hunks of beef. Don't think the skinny little pansy patties you get at other places. These are old school hand made patties. If you don't want a burger, go with the french dip with mozzarella. There's a full bar. The people at the bar are a friendly bunch and seem to be regulars. I saw about 5 beers on tap. This is what it should be, a very casual, quiet spot to grab a drink and some food. At least for lunch, I've only been for lunch. It's a nice little greasy spoon kind of place to get away from the office for a bit. Food is good enough to return, I've been several times and tried burgers, fries, etc. If you aren't starving don't get the double burger, it's enormous. Service is ok. Don't expect to be waited on hand and foot and have a little patience and you'll be fine. read more

This place isn't fine dining. The food was alright. Was edible. Got the French dip and salad and the meat tasted not fresh. Salad was basic iceberg with ranch. My buddy got the hot wings though and really liked them. Coming in is confusing if you've never been there. No seat yourself or please wait to be seated signs. Reminds me of a truckers bar more than anything. They service was okay. Nothing special that stood out. Restaurant was clean but felt really cluttered. There's plenty of parking. read more

I liked it. Two of us ordered burgers and one got fried shrimp. The burger I ordered was great. Not only did they bring us Coca-Cola, they brought us tiny pitchers for a refill. I am giving this place 1 star for one reason only. The food is great however the last two times I have gone in there I have had the same waitress. The Hispanic lady with glasses. She is by far the most rudest waitress I have ever come across!!! She rolled her eyes at me and let out a big sigh because I asked for a straw. You would have thought I asked her for a kidney. When she brought the straws back to table she slammed them down and walked away. This women has no business helping customers. Her Attitude sucks!!!! read more

I've been here once years ago and just recently when back last week. I can say without a doubt one of the best burgers in Arizona!! The burger is juicy, the cheese is melted and the fries are not al a carte. Hot fresh and great service. This place is a total dive but you know what those are the best places. After visiting the amazon fulfillment center, which was a great tour, we were looking for a place to eat and saw that Mother's had a 4 1/2 star rating and a burger sounded good.... not so good. Everything is from a frozen state except the veggies on the bun. Bun was nice. Two bites in a I found a LONG hair in my burger and the burger was awful anyway. Rubbery and tasted like it was in the freezer a while. The waitress was very friendly and she didn't charge me and apologized for the hair multiple times. I don't mind a dive if the foods good but a dive and bad food is a waste of time. I'm giving a 2 star for her. read more
