In general I love habit Burger. hot crispy fries and very good burgers, 4 star. But this location? Again the fries were bad. Was here about a year ago. Last time I said nothing until I was leaving ands the manager apologized and told me I should have said somethting. This time a different manager said the fryer was broken. Making excuses. I asked for a cup holder and the curbside clerk told me they have some but they are inside and walked away. Ok, time to update my review. I came into Habit for dinner tonight. It was a different staff and different experience. All for the better. The front counter personnel was kind and courteous. Super helpful and patient with my order. Also, the manager (Luc), made the experience so positive. She has a great demeanor with the guests and her staff. My faith is redeemed in Habit. This was my first visit to Habit Burger after hearing phases from my family, so I had decided to go and have lunch. I ordered 2 items off the menu to check out what they had, something cold and something hot and a drink, I also ordered napkins. The meal came out to $36.91 - this is including a tip (ALL PRE-PAID) I go to pick up my order in a congested outdoor mini-mall where all the parking spots are for compact cars only (not a problem I drive a Jeep, but others don't and they park like crap ), I am lucky and quickly find parking (mind you I am disabled - and have my 2 service dogs ‍ with me in the back seat of the Jeep in their seats ). I go inside the music is loud but not too loud, my food is on the counter and not the pick-up area so I walk up to the counter and say hello to the young lady and she hands me my bag after I tell her my name - she says have a nice day and smiles and I walk out the door . I get home open the bag, look inside and there is no drink and no napkins okay ....pick up the burger and it was ok but not worth the ordeal and the French fries are definitely something I would not write home about. then I tried the salad OMG that was the worse thing I have ever eaten, never again How can you call that a BBQ Chicken Salad? We've been to this location many times since moving back into the area, and we've always enjoyed the food! The burgers and fries come out super hot and fresh and delicious, generous serving of fries too, which I like. I also think the Habit makes some interesting and unique flavored burgers, as well as fun side's like fried green beans. Tasty drink options, and a nice little jalapeno/pickle/banana peppers bar. Well, it stands that the teriyaki sauce was extremely thin and smelled bad and tasted yucky, the Board of Health went there and checked things out and said things were OK in the facility. My go-to menu items at the Habit are the caesar salad with tri tip (now called tenderloin steak) and tempura green beans. The quality of the food is pretty consistent among the 3-4 locations I've been to, which is great. The steak is cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful, the greens are always fresh and plentiful, and the tempura green beans are somewhat addicting to me, lightly coated in batter with the ideal crispiness, never feels too filling, and a good alternative to carb-heavy fries. I always skip the croutons and caesar dressing, because they slather that dressing all over the lettuce and the caesar flavor is really tangy here and a little too strong for my taste. I opt for the kale pesto dressing instead, and it goes really well with this salad. Only 4 stars because they don't get the order right 100% of the time, and I've come to this location a lot (they're getting better though). I always check my salad before I leave now, just to make sure. The service is decent, there sometimes seems to be new workers taking my order who don't know how to customize menu items. One of the experienced workers, possibly a manager, is better and more efficient, but not always the friendliest... but I don't really mind, I just care that they get my order right. They also never charge for extra sauces or ranch, which I appreciate. I love this location and come here often, mainly because they stay open 1-2 hours later than the other restaurant locations in the south bay. The plaza is very inviting with beautiful lights and decor at night. There's a colorful fountain out front, and both indoor and outdoor seating. What used to be a great habit location has gone down hill. 1. New manager lady is unfriendly and talks to the staff while customers are waiting to be helped. Always seems like it's such a big task to fix an order or when asking for things like condiments. 2. Food quality has gone down hill. I've been here twice in the last 2 weeks and the fries were soggy both times, almost like they've been sitting there and then refried when ordered. I even asked for a replacement and they literally just dunked the same batch of fries in the oil again instead of making a new one. 3. Suspect minor food poisoning after ordering the Santa Barbara Char on 12/10/23. It was the weirdest sandwich I ever tasted, meat was stale, bread tasted like old oil, and the avocado tasted old and not fresh. It was seriously off.
