The staff made my dad's 80th birthday perfect. I organized a casual drop-in gathering for my dad's 80th -- no private event, no deposit, just a large group coming and going over four hours. Toni worked with me over the phone to make it happen, and when there was a small miscommunication about the vibe I was going for, she course-corrected instantly -- not just in communication but in the actual setup. That kind of pivot is rare. The outside area was ideal for our group of roughly 60 throughout the day -- a mix of high tops, low tops, and couches that gave everyone somewhere to land. Came in on a Wednesday at 4 pm for happy hour. The parking lot and the restaurant were both fairly empty. By 6 pm both were full, so if you want to avoid the crowds come early. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and warm. It wasn't this cavernous sized restaurant so it wasn't noisy at all, while feeling comfortable. The place was clean and the furnishings were trendy and in good shape. It's definitely a nice place to hang out with friends and coworkers. Food and beer was pretty good; what you should expect from a chain restaurant. Service was excellent as the staff came by frequently to check on us and to fill our waters. We came here today with friends for lunch. We had friends visiting San Jose and thought that this location was perfect since it was so close to the 101 fwy. I made reservations and requested a booth for the four of us. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed. I let the young man at the front know about our reservation and he took us to a nice booth and gave us menus. This is a very nice location. It's nice inside and they do offer outdoor seating. We placed our order and had a fun time catching up with our friends. Our food came out 30 minutes later. The waitress warned us not to tough the plates because of how hot they were. Everyone enjoyed their food. One of our friends order the Eureka American burger. The rest of us ordered the Napa chicken sandwich. The only issue I had was the side I picked with my sandwich. I ordered the Caesar side salad and they put it on that piping hot plate with my sandwich. The salad got hot and wilted and did not taste good at all. They should have put it on a separate chilled plate. I didn't complain to the waitress because I wanted to concentrate on my friends. So I just didn't eat the salad. Next time I will not order the Caesar salad. Other than that, everything was great. My friend had never had truffle fries before so she was excited to try them. She really loved them. Loved going to Eureka Santa Clara. I've been to their other locations but this was my first time in the Augustine Drive location. I was a meeting a friend for drinks and dinner. The Wild Child cocktails were superb and the tofu protein bowl hit the spot. Eureka had a good happy hour menu and on Tuesdays they offer 50% off wines. The waiters are attentive and helpful. The tofu protein bowl was amazing and worth the price. The space is inviting and great for meeting friends after work. The complex is packed so I would go there before parking gets full. read more

Eureka is the spot for a nice burger. Pair it with a cocktail or beer and you have the perfect meal. We came on Friday night at 7pm and waited for a few minutes. My husband was craving a burger one night and a Yelp search led us to Eureka. They're located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking and free. The atmosphere is interesting - the bar looked really nice, the place looked like a fun date night, and the music choices were kind of sporadic. The place did get busier as the night went on and while we were confused on what to classify this restaurant as, the burgers we ordered tasted delicious. I was attending a show at Levi stadium and was staying at a nearby hotel. My friends and I wanted to get a food meal in before getting ready for the evening. My friend came across this spot, and was surprised it was located around a ton of different stores and other restaurants! We did have to wait about 15 minutes on a Friday afternoon, so decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited. Im only giving 4 stars, instead of 5 because when I asked about their daily cocktail special (apple tiki at the time) the bartender attempted to tell me what was in it and didn't make an attempt to as anyone or loom anywhere for the recipe, which deterred me from ordering it. My go-to foods are Mac balls (buffalo and ranch side), truffle cheese fries (sauce on the side), house salad with lemon vinaigrette (they just got rid of this though), and veggie tacos (which they also sadly got rid of). The veggie burger is always a solid option though! Nachos too! Love the drink options and happy hour here! My fave is a wild child or draft cider! This Eureka! is located in a Santa Clara Square Marketplace. In the two times I've visited this place on a weekday evening, it was difficult finding parking both times. The plaza seems to have plenty of traffic and many parking spots that have time limits. When I arrived around 5pm, it wasn't crowded. However, around 6pm was when the surrounding tables filled and it would get loud. I got to try for glazed brussel sprouts and the crispy veggie beet burger $17.50. The sprouts for $11 were flavorful and well-cooked, but portion sizes weren't big. For any burgers, you can choose a side of choice. I chose the salad, and it didn't disappoint. The burger itself was underwhelming and I couldn't really taste the beet or understand how it was unique compared to other plant-based patties besides the pink color. Overall, this burger joint is sufficient for an after-work dinner with co-workers. I'd be willing to come back to try their other burgers. read more

I've been here a handful of times, both in small group and larger group (~10 people) settings. What I really appreciate is that service and food quality is consistent across these experiences. Yes, prices are a tad bit higher, but nothing out of the ordinary for the area. The ambiance is nice, and the food is higher quality (e.g. burgers are "nicer" than your average burgers). I've tried many dishes from burgers, to entrees, to various appetizers. While it won't be a Michelin star level meal (nor Michelin level prices), it has always been a very solid meal, and I have left satisfied each time. Their drink selection, including beer, always satisfies the crowd as well. The primary downsides here are having to wait when it's busy and finding parking during the busy times. That being said, if the main lot is full, there is a parking lot across the street which just requires a bit more walking. read more

TL;DR 5 star for customer service I had lunch here, and overall, it was a great experience. The ambiance was nice--not too packed--and since I was dining alone, I grabbed a seat at the bar. I started with the Peach Buzz Sangria, which was a little tart but still really good, strong. For my meal, I ordered the NY strip steak medium rare, but when it arrived, it was definitely not cooked to the right temperature. These situations can be a little nerve-wracking because you want to enjoy your meal without feeling like you're inconveniencing the staff. However, I also believe that if a restaurant makes a mistake, they deserve the opportunity to fix it rather than being unfairly criticized online. So, I spoke up, and the manager came out right away. Within seconds, she confirmed that the steak wasn't medium rare and took it back to be redone. While I waited, they offered me a Caesar salad, which was a nice touch. When my new steak arrived--this time cooked perfectly to medium rare--it was absolutely delicious, especially with the bone marrow butter. What really impressed me, though, was the customer service. Not only did they correct the mistake quickly and provide a salad while I waited, but they also comped my steak, which I didn't expect at all. That level of service was beyond generous, and it made a lasting impression. So of course I tipped very generously (and yes it was a percentage on the original non-comped bill) I would 100% come back just for the outstanding customer service alone. Mistakes happen, but the way a restaurant handles them speaks volumes--and Eureka! nailed it. 10/10 experience! read more

This particular Erueka has a great ambiance--modern, a bit more upscale to match the area's vibe--and the service was absolutely on point. Friendly staff, attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out in a timely manner. I really wanted to love it here, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the rest of the experience. I was on my way back from the airport later in the weekday evening and needed a quick dinner. We had a couple of items and walked away with mixed feelings. One of the burgers came out slightly burned, which wouldn't have been as big of a deal if the BBQ sauce had more punch to it, but it was surprisingly mild. Sides for the burgers were good though: Fries were excellent and the salad was well balanced. A shame since their burger compositions were good at a different spot and I wanted a likely hit. The Brussels sprouts were a letdown though. They still had a strong bitter note and tasted like they weren't particularly fresh. The copious saucing couldn't save it. Would I come back? Maybe for drinks and fries, but I'd be hesitant to make this a dinner destination again unless the kitchen tightens things up a bit. read more

I ordered the seasonal cider which was blueberry, and my partner got a beer. On Wednesdays you can take home a special glass which we were excited about. For appetizers there are so many good options, but we chose the fried mac and cheese balls. This was the perfect comfort food but elevated. I will definitely be coming back to try some more of their shareable plates. I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The chicken was large and juicy and was the perfect amount of spicy. Truffle fries were super great as well and came with a special aioli and shaved parmesan. I also liked that there were many side options! Everything was absolutely delicious as always, and they can even accommodate us when we request to have the tangy coleslaw and house pickles on the side instead of on the sandwich. They do have a well stock bar but we didn't get to try their cocktails this time around, maybe next time. Other items we tried before (which we also love) are Double Smash, Bacon Jalapeno Jam Burger and Black and Blue Mushroom. Blended seamlessly with the creamy avocado. Nice citrusy sauce throughout. - Mac and cheese balls are always great. Could be served a little hotter. I'd double up next time. - Chicken sandwich was textbook. Chicken could have been juicier from being brined longer, but not a bad sandwich and very filling. Good fries. Might upgrade to truffle fries next time. Wish they had garlic fries & a garlicky aioli. - Had a bite of the bone marrow burger. Felt like it could have used some cheese to round everything out. We had two servers as one went on break and was replaced. Both were really nice. The first girl tried to fix our wobbly table but after trying she just offered to switch our table. Heads up, the Carolina pickles are very sour. Poke stack was delicious and fresh. Charcoal passion fruit lemonade was delicious and refreshing. Bbq pork ribs were okay. Bbq sauce is a heavy ketchup based sauce. Yes I know bbq sauce is ketchup based but this one had too much for my taste buds. The Cole slaw was subbed out for truffle fries that were good. Now the reason why I wanted to come here. 28 day aged bone marrow burger. The bone marrow and aioli make this burger. We ordered delivery. We ordered a naked Wagyu hamburger and a lettuce wrapped vege burger. And a side of green beans that were not seasoned in any way. It cost $67+ change. To be fair I gave $10 to the driver, which in retrospect may have been a little too much but I appreciate them, so no complaints usually unless they made 5 stops before they delivered our food. Could be... The vege burger had good flavor but was pretty soggy and falling apart. I ordered it with all the fixings and got none of it. Just the patty wrapped in butter lettuce. My husband's Wagyu burger was good he said. He had to reheat it, however. Still I would definitely recommend that their burgers must be eaten in the restaurant. Not a huge deduction to make however, it was still a disappointing experience for the cost. We were still hungry a little later and I still ended up cooking dinner. So, excited I went to this restaurant with a friend for a nice peaceful dinner. We were quickly seated and the server helped us out right away. TL;DR: Though the dry-aged burger patty was tasty and well-executed, the somewhat clumsy assembly and unmemorable topping did not leave me feeling "Eureka!" in my burger quest. The Details: Curious and on a hunt for a memorable dry-aged burger, I found out about Eureka's offering and decided to pay a visit. My wife and I came during an off-time in the early afternoon; the ambiance was nice, though the service felt a little bit lethargic because it was past peak lunch hour. No matter, so long as a satisfactory burger could be had. I ordered the dry aged bone marrow shiitake burger, medium rare, and was eventually greeted with a tasty looking burger. The patty itself was cooked to desired doneness and pleasant to the palate; the dry-aged character of it didn't feel that memorable / noticeable, but it was a good patty nonetheless. The bun was also tasty and toasted on the inside. Unfortunately, Eureka thought for some reason that putting the tomato in between the bottom bun and the burger was a good idea, which led to the bottom bun eventually falling apart as it saturated with tomato juice. Additionally, the bone marrow shiitake butter, while interesting in concept, didn't have much of a memorable flavor, or even flavor at all. Lastly, the fries, while decent, weren't terribly memorable. Overall, a bit of a mixed experience--I'll be continuing my burger quest and searching for my eureka moment elsewhere. read more
