I love to shop here. You never know what you'll find! I've purchased air filters for about $1/each when I usually pay much more than that at other retail stores. I've purchased furniture and cabinet hardware as well. They have great light fixtures- many are brand new. They also had some nice cabinetry and appliances at great prices. I had several items scheduled for donation including clean mattresses, bed frames, and other furniture items. I set up the donation back on December 18th for pickup on Jan 8th. I included pictures of the items. They confirmed the donation pickup and time, then canceled it for no reason two days before. When I called, I couldn't get a clear reason for the cancellation. They were rude and acted as if it was too much trouble to bother. I gave my items to another charity. read more

I have donated to Restore many times over the years. I have always been greeted with a smile and friendly employees. The service they provide outweighs any minor inconvenience (such as waiting 5 mins for the person ahead of you is being helped with their donation. I went to donate a couch and loveseat here. The older gentleman who was at the donation center was incredible rude and condescending. He said there was a stain on my couch and he would not take it. The stain that he was referring to was a speck of dirt due to it being in the back of a pickup truck on the way there. When I showed him that it wasn't a stain he said that wasn't the only stain. I asked him to show me the other stains and he rudely said I make the decisions and I said I will not take them. What upset me even more was when I was leaving he accepted a mattress from the truck behind me. What used mattress are clean?!?! read more

To say how frustrated and disappointed I am would be an understatement. I purchased 8 chairs yesterday from this store. The man who helped me said I'll walk over right now and put a sold sign on them as soon as I finished the paperwork. I had to borrow a truck and come back today to pick them up, we discussed it all. Today I work my whole day around pick up. Only to get there and find out not only had they been sold. But the SAME man sold them a second time!! A wasted trip, a waste of my time, gas, just a waste. I mean sure they refunded my money but what does that help, I wanted to pick up what I paid for! Fair warning place a SOLD sign on items yourself as you cannot trust it will be done. Have purchased several lamps here previously and staff including Gary are great! Purchased a light fixture today with light bulbs. Light bulbs sold extra, not a problem but had a sneaky employee name DENNIS FEELY walk up to us wanting to help us. He removed the light bulbs to test for us so we thought but instead was testing for HIMSELF. DENNIS then took light bulbs directly to cashier and paid 1.00 each for expensive bulbs, per HIS pricing. Then he proceeds to leave store and place in his car while more than likely still on the clock because he walked back in the store as the store was still open. Buyer beware of their shady practices. The staff is rude and acts like you are bothering them to ask a question about item etc. The prices are ridiculously high .. I have shopped Habitat store in many other states and never had this experience of rude employees and outrageous prices . The employees just sit around on the furniture and stare at you as if you are pissing them off to be in the store . I used to get very nervous before I went there because of way I have been treated in past. After reading reviews I can see I'm not the only shopper who feels this way . I just can't shop there anymore , it's so abusive ... Sad because I loved going to Habitat. So now I drive to Austin stores, it's worth the drive from Houston to the Austin Habitat stores !! read more

The reviews are right on! The prices are ludicrous! Really laughable! Coffee mugs are usually $1 but I saw one without a handle for 50¢ What a Steal! Lol I mean... Do they really think someone is going to buy that!? They also had outdoor decorations for $10. Flip it over it had a Ross Sticker on it for $6.99. Used eat-in kitchen set for $450 with Dirty Chairs and scratches. Do you need a chair without an arm? They got it! At the low price of $65. Come on down! Nope! I donate here often and am happy to help reuse, recycle, repurpose left over items. I work for a builder and the left overs all go here. If I had a truck I could bring more. It's super organized inside and prices are good. If you need something for your house but don't necessarily need new, then come buy something 2nd hand or never used. read more

Drove an hour to visit this restore for the first time. I checked the website & called ahead to make sure they were open. When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying no children allowed. I walked inside, asked an employee about this & she was beyond rude. No apology, no sympathy, I had just drove an hour & I don't understand why my children are not allowed to go into the store. No warning on call line or website. Very disappointed in how we were treated. My children love restore, we've been going to the one in Houston for years, they were upset to say the least. read more

So my husband and I went thinking we would get a good deal and we sure did we found some can lights but we're unsure of warranty or exchange policy and we were told by three different employees we had 6 days if for "whatever" reason we didn't like them or didn't work or were wrong product we could return them, so we purchased them. Well they were the wrong item and called an hour plus before we went to the store and were told we could return the item if we had the receipt so we drove an hour plus one way to take them back . We get there and the employees seem to have memory loss and deny saying that so I ask for a manager and she also claims final sale is on receipt I said ok but before purchasing I asked I'm not going to buy it if I KNOW there's no returns ( common sense) yet three different employees say same exact thing the first one said about having 6 days to return. This place is a rip off and need more training on their policy and stop being so sneaky ! Don't buy electrical unless you know that junk works even if new in a box read more

Like the concept of this organization and have donated money and items such as appliances, cabinets, etc from rental remodels to this very store. Ha ha ha. What?? These prices?? A pair of old leather chairs that are peeling and have holes in them $70 ea. Ha ha. A coffee table with gouges not scratches for $65. This is one of those 70's coffee tables. Not even nice wood. You can literally find better stuff on the side of the road during heavy trash day!! They really think highly of those free donations. You can literally go buy new furniture or fixtures or appliances for about the same price or cheaper. The stuff there sells for antique prices. Save your drive time and spend your money elsewhere. Ok, I've been an avid thrift hunter for many years. Furniture, house hold items and decor. I go to local community thrift stores and such. Most of those prices are well within reason and for the amount for 1 item at H4H, I can purchase at least 3+ items at the local thrift. These guys, are a big NO! The prices are good and I've often found what I need there. The customer service from Don is good; he seems to care about the customers. However, their policies are not customer friendly at all. They will not hold an item for even a few hours, nor will they allow you to buy even a big ticket item over the phone to hold. See an item and can't buy it that day? Good luck; it may or may not be there when you drive back the next. I could not even get them to check to see if a big ticket item was still there before driving back to purchase. If I didn't NEED the item, I would not have returned to the store. They spoke to me as though I was putting them out by asking. read more

My mind is blown. Don't waste your time donating building materials. I just tried to donate LED can lights (unused), with cans, a couple sheets of wire mesh for tiling walls (unused), mesh temporary fencing, and brass cabinet hardware. They refused to take any of it. These were higher end unused building materials and considering the crap they had piled up outside, I could not believe it. This HFH restore is out of their mind with their prices! Nearly everything is junk priced at ABOVE new retail cost! It's insane! Do people actually buy this stuff at these ludicrous prices? We came here and once we loot at what they are selling and for the high prices they're asking you can buy it brand new at a store. We are shopping around for the new house we are building and for example this people want $50 for a used small window that Home Depot is selling brand new for $40. I mean the same brand, type and size window this people want more money for a used window? Another item a beaten up gas stove they wanted almost $500 when I can buy it from Lowes brand new for $450. Save yourself some money and go by your items at a retail store. Electrical outlet covers this people want $7 for one cover!!! Again, Home Depot sells a pack of 7 of the same type for $5.
