We easily caught it using a humane trap and re-located it yet in a few days, another little mouse appeared in the house. Again, we humanely caught and re-located the new mouse, only to have this routine go on and ON. We thought we were very savvy, looking at every possible point of entry: stuffing copper wire meshing in all suspicious little holes surrounding our foundation & even put stucco in a few bigger openings. However, one at a time, mice kept sneaking into our home! We found Steve & his company Elite Animal Control on an internet search and reached out to him. Within one day, he came over, spent a great deal of time really inspecting & investigating all possible openings. He took his time (and expertise) to eliminate ALL imaginable entrances. However, another little mouse was seen and again we humanely caught/re-located it and then called Steve. THIS situation kept us on our toes for a few weeks...Steve came back a few times and with each visit he discovered a different opening until-NO MORE MICE!!! Steve is, first of all, a VERY thoughtful, intelligent, clever and caring man! We could tell he was SO experienced in the business of thinking like a mouse! AND! He NEVER advocated for harming the mice-yet he did share he has had some jobs which required many means of rodent removal. The initial consultation was fraught with high-pressure sales tactics including "mandatory" work items that we weren't allowed to refuse if we wanted them to work on our home, such as replacing roof vents, which they never actually inspected, that already had rodent screens on them, and proactive work that, despite never being a problem area for over 2 decades, somehow needed immediate and mandatory protection because "if you close off one area to the critters, they'll go here next". Sorry but the fear tactics just don't sit well with me. I wanted an honest, grounded discussion. Instead I felt like I was treated like some sort of rube to be taken for a ride. After months of scampering feet above our bedroom ceiling (which escalated into construction-grade gnawing) we contacted them seeking a humane solution for whatever had penetrated our roof. Rick came out and surveyed the roof finding a hole created by a squirrel which had taken up residence inside. He provided an estimate for the work to remove and repair the squirrel damage, and additional preventative work to install drip flashing under our eaves which all had gaps. We elected to just proceed with eradicating the squirrel which involved installing a one-way door to allow it to escape, waiting a week or so to ensure it was gone then sealing the roof. They did an excellent job. Fast forward two months and the same sort of loud gnawing began again. We called Critter Control again and Ryan came out to find a squirrel had created a hole in another area of the roof, actually in two places. This time we decided to take steps to allow the squirrel to leave and repair the damage in addition to installing the drip flashing to seal up areas they might penetrate the roof again. Before setting a date to install the one-way door I happened to mention my next door neighbors had discovered a nest of squirrel babies in their flower box a week prior. It is early for squirrel baby season however Ryan was cautious, knowing squirrels are territorial and there was a good chance the mother had moved the babies into our roof. Not wanting to take a chance on babies being in the roof and unable to leave, he guided us to wait 3 weeks before proceeding with the one way door installation. We appreciated the humane option and that they began the flashing installation almost immediately to ensure no additional breaches of our roof. I would absolutely use Critter Control again and have recommended them to others. I appreciate their prompt response and communication, their professionalism and guidance (this is our first time of this type of thing happening) and their humane goal of removing intruding wildlife and repairing the damage with an eye toward avoiding similar future episodes.

Critter Control prematurely confirmed that the skunk had been removed, but the pest problem remains fully unresolved. Because we relied on their confirmation, this failure severely compromised our credibility with our tenants and made our management team look unprofessional. When we requested that they return to finish the job, the company refused. They cited non-payment for invoices that they had not yet generated or sent to us. To complicate matters, their accounts receivable department demonstrated a concerning lack of understanding regarding standard commercial payment regulations and records. We fully paid for the initial service via check, yet the job was left incomplete. Due to this severe lack of follow-through, billing errors, and the resulting damage to our tenant relations, we strongly advise against using this company for commercial properties.

The first time was in…read more2021, and we just engaged his services again last month to rehome some squirrels that were adamant about chewing their way into our house. Stewart was extremely responsive and came out within a couple of days to set up the traps. He made sure the traps were in a shaded area so that any captured squirrels weren't roasting in the sun, and came out daily to check/reset the traps and to escort the squirrels to a new area. Both times, he also examined our home for potential entry points and gave us the option to have him seal them or have another contractor seal them for us. Of course, we opted to have him do it, but I liked that he wasn't pushy and gave us enough information to make an informed choice. Hopefully we won't have guests trying to chew their way into our house for a while, but Stewart will once again be our first call if that happens again. Highly recommend!
