11/10 service from SAM!!!! My 2006 Toyota Avalon's battery had died but I still had a 72 month warranty from purchasing a new battery from AAA in July 2020. I did not have a receipt to show proof so after calling AAA customer service, Sam was able to confirm with the representative of the purchase and still having warranty. Went through AAA because I needed a new battery. I was quoted an hour wait and ended up waiting 2.5 hours until Hadley Tow came. The guy clearly had trouble replacing my battery (40 min to put it in). Found out later it wasn't properly secured, fuses weren't put back correctly, bolt was missing, and he had destroyed my air vents. We were broken down in my husband's Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 2500 Long Bed Truck for 4 hours and after stressing to AAA Roadside Assistance that the two tow trucks they sent out from AM-PM Tow couldn't help us and had no means of trying to help us, they sent out Hadley Tow out of Fullerton. My 2wd truck needed to be towed about 80 miles. Hadley tow dispatched a wheel lift tow truck. About 20 miles into the tow the front tire had a blowout, the tire was not repairable and this also caused physical damage to the truck. We put on a full size spare and the driver requested a flatbed to finish the job. A simple internet search advised that wheel lift Tows are only recommended for short distances. These were brand new tires with less than 500 miles. Hadley tow knew or should have known that the distance would be an issue and should have dispatched a flatbed in the beginning. Not sure if this is this is the right location but it was the closest to where I was when they came by to help so hopefully it is. I had a tire problem (a nail in the tire) and it was leaking too much for me to chance it getting home. I called AAA at 714pm and they said Hadley Tow was dispatched and would be there from 717 to 840! So, I prepped for a long wait but seriously 12 minutes later Hadley arrived! Holy shit, what a miracle. The guy introduced himself, Chris. He asked if I had a spare and I've never used a spare before so I guessed yes. He opened the trunk and found the spare (like its hidden under the car and you need a wrench thing to unlock it). I hated this entire situation but he was friendly and asked "So besides this, how has your day been?" He got my shitty nail punctured tire off and put the spare on. He then gave me some advice on how to drive with a spare tire on ("50/50" rule). He was done by 745pm! I was so grateful that he showed up so quickly, was cool, and was quick! Called the AutoClub cause my car battery was dead as a doornail. Sadly, it wouldn't retain 3 charges within the span of 5 days, so I opted to have it towed to the repair shop. Within minutes Manny arrived with a flat bed truck. My car sat precariously, half on the driveway, half on the grass where I'd inadvertently backed out of the garage. The engine died again, necessitating another transfusion of energy. The charge lasted long enough to get the car onto the road. Here's where things got hairy. My Volvo sits low on the street because of low profile tires. In order to pull the car onto the bed, Manny had to use 2x4s under the tires to lift the front fender high enough so it wouldn't scrape on the road. I watched carefully almost panicking when it looked like his technique wouldn't work. But he knew exactly what he was doing. He proceeded slowly and cautiously, running back and forth, checking his progress until the front end raised enough to clear the uneven roadway. Phew! He secured all four tires to the flat bed and off they drove. My poor car looked like an orphan . . . no driver behind its steering wheel, but I knew it was in good hands. Manny arrived at the repair shop before I did. He'd already talked with the service department and they'd directed him where to unload. A minute later he found me at the desk checking-in my car. He stopped to assure me the car was safely delivered, keys in the ignition. So glad I had an opportunity to thank him before he got away. Many thanks to Manny for a job well done. I couldn't have gotten my car to the shop so effortlessly without his expertise. read more

Never, never, never, never, never, never, never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever buy a car from their auction. During the Great Recession, my Mother's car and home got repossessed and we needed to find a solution. A friend told me about many different auctions in the area where we could perhaps get a vehicle for what little money we had. We attended their auction on a Saturday and had $1000 to our name. We patiently waited as all the cars were previewed and rolled out for bidding and suppose it working order. Along came a Toyota Camry and thinking Toyotas are reliable chose to bid on that car. We won the auction for you guessed it $1000. We then proceeded to pay them with her last funds and signed all the paperwork. I understand the cars are sold as is however I didn't anticipate only being able to get 1 mile down the road before discovering it had a blown head gasket. It almost overheated and was spewing steam like billowing clouds. In my opinion it is very underhanded of a business to sell a car with that type of condition without even undergoing any attempt at repair. I understand that they're towing operations have performed adequate services for people, especially since they are contracted through AAA but I am encouraging everyone to steer clear from their auction. In the interest of transparency and from many conversations that I have had since, people get really good deals on auction cars when they spend over $3000. We didn't have that option that day and our very survival depended on getting some form of transportation. 106 degrees on the 91 freeway drive home.... my always trusty Explorer decides that it has had enough for the day and overheats. Fortunately, I was almost home from my near 40 mile commute, but I had to pull over and let my baby cool off. I knew it was stupid to try and make it home and either way there was something definitely wrong with my normally calm, cool truck. So, I called up AAA (Auto Club) and asked for a tow. I can't even believe that I didn't get the driver's name from Hadley Tow, but he showed up within 20-25 minutes (I was expecting the 1 hour wait, as told). After getting my info, he told me to go ahead and get inside the cab of his truck and relax while he hooked up my truck. He had the air on high and showed me where he had a cooler with bottled water and Red Bulls. After he knew I was comfy, he went to work. Shortly we were on our way to the "within 6 miles" mechanic that AAA recommended, my driver was pleasant and personable with his small talk and conversation. Mid-way through our gab-fest he found out that my normal mechanic was not too much further away from the recommended shop. He asked if I'd be more comfortable with him taking me to a place that I am used to. Absolutely!!! So, we switched routes and headed to see my guy, Jose. I don't know if all drivers do this, this was my first tow, but I really liked that he was thinking about me and my well-being (and sanity). He had a pleasant demeanor and chill attitude, very nice guy and I gave him a hug just before he left me at my destination. I was traveling on Carbon Canyon (Brea) east this guy hit me & it was intentional as he's yelling at me there you hit me.Carbon Canyon is two lanes & turns into one. He waited until the last minute to merge. I told him to pull over he refused until I took the picture & called the police. What is worst I called this company & the dispatcher told me that innocent bystanders had already called and said it was my fault really. I corrected him and informed him of the rules when merging. But more importantly does he want this guy representing his company. Yelling, acting crazy pointing fingers. I know Hadley does a lot of business. AAA called them again to tell them to bring my car because i was covered the driver parked my car horribly on the street, then when i asked him for my key he said the key was in the car and he jumped in his his car and left. My Mercedes needed to be towed to Benz dealer for key order and car was backed into garage area. Matt was able to avoid any damage and get my cls out of a tight spot and onto the flatbed. **UPDATE** After multiple calls to speak with management about the behavior of the driver as well as the additional damage caused by him, they never got back to me or even showed one ounce of concern. I will be filing a case against them** If I could give negative stars I would. They came to tow my car to the repair shop. It was a horrible experience from the beginning. The driver sat in his truck for a bit and when I asked if he was here to tow the car his reply was, what do you think. The car was parked in the driveway facing the street across from an alleyway. Perfect and easy to tow it. The driver insisted it be driven on the street even though it had been in an accident. I told him I was not comfortable and did not want further damage to the car. He was yelling at me and telling me I don't know anything about cars, he's the professional let him take care of it. I pulled it slightly forward and you could feel parts grinding against each other. I stopped and told him I was not comfortable and would not do that. My neighbors who do hot rods came out because of the commotion and how he was treating me, saying it shouldn't be driven He proceeded to get it in position rolling his eyes and calling me stupid. The whole time you could hear the parts rubbing and physically see the side raising. It was causing more damage to the vehicle. He then walked over to me to sign a waiver releasing liability of any further damage. I denied signing as I know he was causing more damage and will be contacting the company directly for that. When I denied to sign it he told me hell cancel the call. He walked away, and called me a Fn white b@&$h and drove away. He left my car in the middle of the street to be hit. My neighbors helped me get it safely over till better help could come. Chivalry is not dead. As luck would have it, a car issue and AAA's errors almost ruined my day. Lucky for me, Jimmy came to the rescue! His patience and kindness were unexpected -- especially after my frustration almost took over due to AAA's incompetence had me stranded for an hour and a half. Regardless of my initial cynicism, Jimmy went straight to trouble shooting and gave me options when he was unable to get my car started. Jimmy went above and beyond to find and tow me to a reputable mechanic (I checked their ratings before agreeing). He was patient enough to talk to my husband and explain to him what he suspected was happening to my car. Further, he gave the mechanic details of his assessment. One week later my Sequoia is as good as new! My point is, feeling helpless sucks! But if your lucky to have a wonderful professional like Jimmy cross your path, you will not only be relieved but your faith in humanity may be reestablished! The battery died on my mom's car because she rarely drives it and she uses me as her slave driver so we had to call AAA to start it up again. I have to give a shout out to Chris from Hadley's! I called AAA for help with my car battery and Chris was there in no time. He was so kind and helpful and went above and beyond. My battery had a lot of corrosion on the positive side of the battery so there was battery acid buildup everywhere. Chris took the time to help me clean it up and even helped me figure out what part I needed to get replaced (something with the terminal). I managed to get the part quickly while he finished cleaning up all the battery acid and he swapped the piece. Anyone could have swapped the batteries and been done with it, but he really took the time to help me with understanding how this happened and what else needed to be done to prevent further damage to my starter and alternator.
