We went back to Kabab Village with a couple of friends for another evening of great food and entertainment! As always, Sepehr was amazing, DJ Radmehr was incredibly talented, and they had a wonderful live Russian band that we really enjoyed. The food was delicious as always--thank you to Mr. Reza, the talented chef! It was also so nice to see Ms. Neda back. The warm, friendly staff always make the experience even more enjoyable. We don't have many Persian restaurants in South Orange County that offer both great food and live entertainment, and Kabab Village does a wonderful job of bringing people together for a fun evening. My husband and I came here to meet friends for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We were the only ones there, we spent a few hours. The food was outstanding, service was great, the staff were beyond wonderful. We got the family style for six people. It was delicious. Very disappointing experience. We initially tried calling the restaurant several times, but no one answered. When we stopped by, the restaurant was nearly empty, and we were encouraged to come in despite being told a large party would be arriving shortly. Once the event started, it became clear the restaurant wasn't prepared. There were only two people serving the entire restaurant (including the bartender), trying to manage a 50+ person party as well as regular diners. It took over 45 minutes just to get water after we asked 3 times. We had to get our own side plates, and after asking multiple times, it took forever for someone to take our order. Several items arrived very late or incorrectly. We also had to ask twice for our table to be cleaned, and even then they only removed the plates, leaving behind dirty tissues and food streaks. The final straw was waiting almost two hours just to get our bill, all while listening to what felt like every version of "Happy Birthday" ever created. To top it all off, after all of that, we were actually asked why we didn't leave a tip and were met with attitude, which made an already frustrating evening even more uncomfortable. I genuinely feel for the staff - they were clearly overwhelmed. But the restaurant should never have continued seating regular diners if it didn't have the capacity to properly serve them while hosting such a large event. The only saving grace was the singer who was good. Unfortunately, we won't be back. read more

I had their chicken kabob which came with half salad and half rice - forgot to take a photo unfortunately. My friend got tahdig which was also really good. The servers were extremely rude and when you ask for anything at all they act offended. I'm not sure I would even call them servers. The food was ok, but not worth the price they charge. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else, perhaps a fast food establishment, better service there. I would not return and I would definitely not recommend. Although my wife like the taste of her chicken the taste of the beef kebab was not good at all there was really no taste the rice also had no taste in my opinion. after trying many different Persian food restaurants from LA to Orange county this place is not in the standing as the others are. We tried this place a few times, and that's it for us. But don't just take our word for it--go check it out for yourself! The Koobideh kebab tasted like it was 95% fat. The Eggplant Borani didn't taste like eggplant at all. The tea was just a teabag, despite the claim of real tea. The coffee was instant. The boneless chicken wasn't fully cooked, although the bone-in chicken was actually good. We called the Barg kebab the 'rubber kebab'--that's how chewy it was. The servers are friendly, but not very focused. They either bring the wrong dish, forget items, bring extras like tea you didn't order, or seem pushy about selling more soft drinks. Last Saturday evening we decided to go to kabob village for a night of good food and entertainment. Unfortunately this time around our experience wasn't as great as last time ! The food was just ok I felt my beef shish kabob had so much meet tenderizer that it wasn't right !! But most of my problem was with the service ! They honestly need to hire more people !!! I felt bad for the way our server was running around !! I asked about 6 times for our check even walked up to them and asked again bcuz I really had to leave but it still took them at least 30 min before we got our check even walked!! And unfortunately they over charged us about $11 per person and when I inquired about it he said it's taxes !! $11 per person for taxes ??!!! We didn't have any alcoholic beverages just some tea after our food and which he mentioned it was free so I don't get why we were charged $56 per person instead of $45 !! Enough of food the DJ had made the music faster than it normally is which was very hard to dance to specially after having heavy Persian food ! The singer was good though. Overall it was a just ok experience definitely not worth $65 per person after tip I hope they hire more experienced servers they need more than 2 people for a Saturday night ! read more

First and last time at this place!!!! Food was below average. What they have on the menu they don't have I asked for trout dish they said they don't have it even though it was listed on the menu. I asked for white fish same story, I asked for dish without meat they said they don't have veggie dish. I asked for stew without meat they said all our stews are with meat but we can take the meat out out. I said ok They brought me stew with meat. I had to separate the meat myself. Completely Unprofessional - Don't Waste Your Time I made a reservation for 4 at Kabab Village in San Juan Capistrano for 9:00 AM today. We drove over an hour to get there, only to find the restaurant completely closed. A worker showed up and told us they weren't open -- no apology, no explanation, and absolutely no notice, even though our reservation was confirmed. This kind of service is totally unacceptable. If you can't honor your reservations or communicate with customers, you shouldn't be taking bookings at all. We wasted our time, gas, and morning because of their negligence. Our server,Atta, was awesome! He provided great service. The Food was delicious and well presented.But we were over charged without even informing us. Per them they charged us base of their own new policy, a service charge of 18%, that supposedly goes to the kitchen staff. On the top of that we gave them another 18% gratuity without knowing that we were already charged for service. They did not bring us any receipts that shows the itemization, When we asked Atta, he sent us a receipt through a text message. They did not have the full menus items ready at the time of our visit.
