My girlfriend and I love going to Haidilao! It's one of her favorite restaurants, so we tend to go here once in a while. I was pretty skeptical since I'm more of an AYCE hotpot person; however, I learned that HaiDilao offers a late night deal of $24.99 for sirloin, lamb, pork belly, and chicken. This deal seems pretty worth it since it's like you're paying less than half the price of the original costs. One of the main star dishes we get is the lobster fish balls, and they're a must try! Something about them being filled with lobster and roe makes it so tasty and umami. There's a sauce bar with some goodies and snacks as well. I don't like how you have to pay for the sauce bar, but it makes up for it with the amount of items you get there. Additionally, you have to be aware that the soup base is priced based on how many you get as well. The service was just amazing the last time we went since the waiter was always smiling and always made sure he poured my water when it was empty. Additionally, we said a special phrase that complimented their soup base, and he gave us a tomato soup base packet to take home!!! The ambiance is very nice here, and you can really tell that they keep the area very clean. They have robots bringing your food as well, so that's an experience. Came to this hot pot place while traveling to Chicago. I walked in. I was greeted by the server who was very nice. They had a few different options for Hot pot. They had an all you can eat for $40 which I thought was a little expensive. They had an all the car option as well. And then they had a $20 after. I think either 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. All you can eat just meat option. Which I feel like is a steal. The inside of the restaurant was very clean. I really liked how they have their hot pot setup done. I thought it was really cool with the four pots at the table. I came late at night midweek and there wasn't a way and I felt like the service was good. We had such a fun experience at Hadilao! The atmosphere was welcoming and extremely fun. The staff were extremely kind and willing to answer all of our questions. The food was delicious and we tried the chicken, pork, tomato, and spicy base soups. Definitely recommend the tomato and chicken soups for a comforting meal and the spicy soup for spicy food lovers. First time here and amazing experience from start to finish!! When we got there they gave us aprons to wear which I've never seen before at other hot pot restaurants. We got 4 different broths 2 were mild spicy and 2 were non spicy - all were really good! We chose a selection of meats & veggies- chicken, beef, cabbage, taro, bok choy, corn. They have a sauce bar and you can get whatever sauces and condiments you like from there. We got sides of rice too. They have this cute robot with a cat face that comes by and brings the trays of food. We were lucky that we got to see the mask change show coincidentally while we were there. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but the experience and food are totally worth it. They have such unique broth and ingredient options -- for adults, I highly recommend the tom yum or mushroom broth. The tomato broth is also amazing, but fair warning: even a 2-star spicy level brings real heat! My son can't get enough of the glizzaad sticks, I'm obsessed with their crispy fish, my other son loves the dancing noodles, and my husband enjoys all the meat selections -- especially the smiling dumplings. We tried the Meat O'Clock deal ($19.99), which is available only from Sunday to Thursday, starting after 8:00 PM and ending at 11:00 PM. Once activated, you have 90 minutes to order from the meat selection, with a limit of one order per type at a time. The options include beef, lamb, shrimp, and two types of fish. We were so satisfied with the deal. In total, we ordered 42 meat items. Broth: There are around eight broth options. We chose tomato, golden, pork stomach with chicken, and spicy level 2. You can select a single pot, a double pot, or a quarter pot, which allows you to enjoy up to four different broths during your meal. Seasoning (self-serve): The seasoning bar has many choices. If this is your first visit, I recommend soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onion as a starting mix. We stumbled upon this place late around midnight when we were searching for any place open and still serving food. We were about to give up when we saw some people go into the entrance which looked like a mini arcade, and saw them go upstairs. We realized it was a restaurant that was on the second floor. We had no idea what to expect. It was still fairly busy, people were having fun times taking photos, singing songs, someone having a birthday party. Some smaller groups, some larger. We got a booth and sat a little confused at first because we had never been to a hot pot restaurant. Our server was extremely friendly and helped to guide us in our selections. We decided on one half hot pot of Tom yum, and one half of pork bone broth. One order of kobe beef strips, an order of mixed veggies which was bok choy, Nappa cabbage, an order of lotus root and an order of rice noodles. Excitedly we waited for our broth to heat up and began to throw in our ingredients. We were told the vegetables would take the most time, around 3mins or more, and the beef would take around 1-2 depending on how we liked it cooked. The noodles about 3-4 mins. It all worked out great! The Tom yam/thai Tom yum soup base was the best!! Lots of flavor and not too spicy at all! Fishing the noodles and vegetables out of the broth towards the end got a little more difficult because we would forget to set the handles of the spoons in the corners so we had some fun fishing out the spoons from the broth a couple times, but it was just funny not a big deal. Our order was the perfect amount of food for two. In the future we think we would like to try the surf and turf as our protein. The selection of protein, vegetables and noodles is pretty large so you can really get exactly what you're looking for. There is an additional option for special sauce and toppings at the topping bar for an additional fee. We didn't do it this time but possibly will give it a try next visit. At the end we got tiny ice cream cups to and our meal and the chef brought out a specialty dish for the Chinese new year. This is a super fun place for groups, or for dates!!! read more

I love it here! Nice ambiance, and the service is great! I've been twice now and each time I'm offered a hairband since I have long hair and the apron. I would give the restaurant a 3.5. It was the most expensive hot pot my friend and I have ever had. We were told they don't have all you eat. After choosing broth, 3 different half orders of meat, mixed vegetables, mixed mushrooms, 2 orders of fish eggs, and 2 coconut waters (because the water tasted funny), and $4 per person for the sauces, after taxes and tip we ended paying about $100 EACH. We felt this was ridiculous for the amount of food we ordered. Especially paying for the broth which is not typical in other hot pot restaurants we've been to (I live in Vegas and there are a ton of great ones). Horrible experience at this place. HUGE CAVEAT EMPTOR here. Last night we came here with a small group of family and friends. Many desserts and snack trays by the sauce bar/station were empty and not being refilled for the customers. The ice-cream machine was operational but not refilled when emptied. We requested the restaurant to re stock and refill the empty trays, including the ice-cream machine. Their water has a weird smell, imo, smells like rotten eggs. We spoke to Jon who claimed to be from NJ and being one of the managers on duty. Jon was unhappy with our requests and cursed profanity at us when we requested proper service. Jon explained that company is being greedy and refuses to hire and adequately staff more employees. When we paid our bill, we gave him the parking ticket and asked for parking validation, he even tossed our parking validation ticket away. As we were leaving through the revolving door at the street level downstairs, he followed us downstairs and yelled profanity at us. It was a truly surreal and horrible experience. Last November, friends and I were wandering outside of McCormick place, and took refuge in the entrance of Haidilao HotPot to stay out of frigid temps while we waited for our Ubers. While we waited in the lobby, we were approached by a woman who asked if we needed any help and showed us their menu. We weren't planning to eat, so we graciously declined but thanked her for not kicking us out, lol. Awhile later, she came out again - this time with gift bags for each of us. The bags included traditional snacks and the restaurants information. It was the sweetest gesture, especially given to individuals who weren't even customers (yet). Fast forward to last month, the same friends and I found ourselves outside of McCormick Place once again, this time with purpose. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Haidilao and were guided by our server. The robot food delivery is such a cool touch, and all of the patrons in the restaurant were having an obviously good time. There were performances for a table celebrating a birthday and we all clapped and participated. A special note, is steps they take for a clean meal offering - hand wipes, phone wipes, hair ties, bubs, napkins..literally anything you can think of! We felt very well taken care of. The sauce bar, unlimited treats and snacks, and beverages were all overflowing with options for any pallet. My friends and I created our own masterpieces using the fresh herbs and sauce we mixed together to pair with our HotPot. We tried four different sauces which were all so unique - spicy ones are no joke! They were yhmny to pair with our variety of noodles, fish, and beef we shared together as a group. This is a super fun hot pot place that is delicious and entertaining at the same time. Hot pot is one of my favorite things to eat, but where I live in Nashville, there are very few places that have vegetarian broths. It was super refreshing to come to Chicago and find this place to eat for dinner. The vibe is awesome. Music is great. Everyone seems to be having a really fun time. The wait staff is super sweet and helpful. One of the best sauce bars I have ever seen for a hot pot place. I think I went back three times to get edamame. I had no idea what I was doing walking in, but the staff was amazing--super patient, helpful, and really took the time to explain how everything works.
