Haidilao was a great way for us to have dinner with a friend who is vegan. Everyone had options to choose from which is desirable when accommodating various dietary restrictions. We had not planned specifically to come here, our first choice wasn't possible, and so I didn't look very hard at the menu. I might have waited half an hour before arriving if I knew that they do offer all you can eat meat for $20 after 9pm. Otherwise the normal menu is à la cart, and those prices can add up quickly. Like, I enjoy hot pot and it met our needs for the dinner situation but do I want to spend as much as we did for it? Not really. The quality of the food was very good so I take no issue with any of that. I just found we had to be very aware of what we were adding to our order, and with something like hot pot an AYCE approach is much easier to navigate. So, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to order to spend about $40/ person instead of much higher. I also didn't realize they charge 3.99/person for the sauce bar in the back. We were just told it was back there, no mention of it being extra. I also didn't like the tablet process of having to create an account and add my personal info. I would have preferred to just use a generic guest account on the iPad. I didn't see an option for that. The place is newer, part of the Mekong expansion, it's clean and brightly lit with lots of seating, and staff were all very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and we had a great time. So, only reason for dropping my rating to 4 stars is just the format of cost/ordering. You could rack up a pretty penny if you are not careful which items you choose. Add the broth, noodles, veggies, meats or non meat options and you're looking at an expensive hot pot. This is definitely a place to come for special occasions due to price point if you order without abandon. For a regular weeknight hot pot meal I'll likely hit up one of the AYCE restaurants in the area or come back after 9pm.
This place is awesome! I had dinner with friends here last week and we stopped by after 9pm for the meat o clock hour special. We checked in and waited for a few minutes for the host to sit us down. Once seated, the server quickly came on over to give us the rundown. We ordered meats, noodles, rice, veggies, drinks, and paid extra for the unlimited seasoning bar. We also opted for the dancing noodle show which we thought was super fun. We all ordered different broths and I really enjoyed the spicy broth I picked. I also ordered a milk tea but did not like it as it was not sweet but tasted watered down. We were there about 1.5 hours and service was good. Bathroom was super clean The restaurant was also clean and well lit. It must definitely be very ventilated as it did not smell strong nor did we smell like shabu when we left. Total for 4 people: $210
So excited for a Haidilao location here! Nice hot pot restaurant and they are so generous when you are here celebrating something! Last time we were here for birthday we got a bag of goodies. You order everything à la carte. They have lunch special deals and after 9pm deals. You can choose up to 4 broths. All their soups are super good! The meats are good quality too. Highly recommend coming here for hot pot! Service was top notch!! Bella was our server and she was amazing! She was very attentive and helped our large party out so much!
Really Fun spot for celebrations with incredibly friendly staff and smooth overall experience. Bella was awesome! We came here twice, once for a birthday and once for Mother's day. Both times the restaurant exceeded expectations. They had plenty of space to feel comfortable and not crammed. Hot pot experience is consistent and easy to enjoy with larger groups. The staff is an absolutely standout. They're hands down the friendliest in the Valley. Super attentive, and always checking in. It makes the whole meal feel extra special. Come during the promotional hours if you want a good deal!
Haidilao has the best flavored broth for hot pot. If you haven't had Haidilao before like I haven't, you don't understand. We ordered four different broths and they were all excellent- sichuan hot and spicy, tom yum, pork bone broth, and mushroom flavored. They let the customers use ipad tablet to order desired vegetables, meats, tofu, mushrooms, fish balls, appetizers, and whatever else you want that is on the menu. The customer service was great. The waitress came by and went and took away all the dirty dishes and dirty napkins to provide us with more space to enjoy our meals. I would recommend this place to others in a heart beat. I would also come visit this place again for sure in the near future when I am back in town.
Haidilao is such an amazing experience - for food and families! I came with my husband and some friends on Monday. We liked it so much, we brought the whole family back on Saturday! The hot pot experience means you pick your broth, protein, veggies, and noodles - cook and eat. The easiest way to explain it, it's like the melting pot, but way better!! Some of the highlights include: vibes, cleanliness, flavor of food and broth, but most importantly the hospitality! WOW. I have two toddlers and taking them out is always a risk, especially my two year old. I hesitated bringing them to a place with boiling broth that you cook your food - so risky! But this place is so kid and family friendly. They know what to expect with kids and they completely cater to the kiddos! They offered kids plates (fries, bao, and melon), they have a robot delivery cart that they always say "hi," to, they give toys to play with, and they have a "noodle dance!" In the last three days since, my kids have asked to go back at least 3x each day! If it's a hit with the kids - it's a hit for us! My whole family loved the experience and the food is so delicious. I'm so grateful for the accommodations, hospitality, service, tastes, and overall experience. 10/5 stars easily! Can't wait to go back.
What better place to celebrate Lunar New Year than a hot pot place? People have been asking me recently whether I've tried Haidilao so I figured it would be perfect to try out some huo guo on the first day of the year of the horse. I went with a friend and had reservations just in case it was super busy. We were one of the first people there at opening and while it wasn't busy at 11 the tables filled up later on. One thing that was weird was that you have to register with them on their tablet to be able to order anything. This involves giving your name, email, phone number, etc. I asked if I could opt out and the server sheepishly (despite it not being year of the sheep) replied no. Apparently you accrue points from each dining experience by giving away your data to them. Would you consider that a fair trade off? Anyhoo, after registering we got down to business and started ordering. A little explanation from the server would have helped in navigating the menu and getting information about the different food options but we muddled through OK in the end. If you order their signature noodles it comes with a hand pulled noodle dance where a noodle boss flings, twists and rotates a very long noodle in a Cirque du Soleil-esque fashion before putting it in a bowl for you to dip into your broth. It was quite a show! The noodle itself was delicious, having the perfect amount of chew. Our other food options were quite good, with the exception of the shrimp. It wasn't cleaned so unless you take out the vein yourself you're going to be tasting grit when you eat it after cooking. No bueno! The condiment bar had the most variety I've ever seen at a hot pot place. We made good use of the bar to make our dipping sauces and to indulge in some crispy crunchy shrimp flavored chips. The ambiance was modern and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looked well maintained. Service was slightly lacking. As mentioned before, we would have liked someone to explain the menu more to us and to check up on us more. We did get a refill on our broth so that was good at least. If you get to-go containers they come in paper cups with a plastic lid. The total was pretty pricey in the end, but we ordered with our eyes instead of our stomachs and had food leftover. It is very easy to accrue a lot of $$$ for the total since there are so many delicious sounding options!
Haidilao Mesa Just an fyi, this restaurant is not an AYCE KBBQ or Hot Pot Sauce bar is $2.99 per person We did the Miso Soup Base along with the Pork Stomach And Chicken Soup Base playing it pretty safe and mild. Dancing Noodle Piece is a must with the show at your table that it comes with as they dazzle you with the Noodle making and stretching. Fun and tasty Kobe Beef Belly Portion is a good selection for the carnivores and goes along ways. A5 Miyazaki Japanese Wagyu Ribeye Portion Pork Belly Portion Prime Rib Eye Portion USDA Bok Choy Napa Cabbage Went here for for a birthday and told our waitress and they did nothing which was disappointing. Overall service was good, I still prefer the AYCE, than this location. Maybe being fairly new, some of the details are not nailed down. San Diego location was much better.
I'm updating my original review because I believe it's important to recognize businesses that are willing to listen and improve. When this visit first started, I was honestly very disappointed. There were several moments during the ordering process that negatively affected our experience. I was repeatedly interrupted while ordering, my request to use the same soup base in two sections of the four-part pot for my child was denied, and after choosing the All You Can Eat option, I was immediately warned about leftover penalties before we had even started ordering. Those interactions made me feel more like I was being monitored than welcomed, which was very different from the level of hospitality I expected from Haidilao. Instead of ignoring my concerns, the dining room manager, Evi, took the time to listen to everything I had to say. I explained my entire experience, including my disappointment from a previous visit when I ordered a Zootopia promotion but was never told about or given the promotional gift. Evi was patient, professional, and genuinely wanted to understand why I was unhappy. More importantly, the management acknowledged my feedback and told me they would review and improve these issues. They also generously comped our entire meal, which I appreciated--not because I wanted free food, but because it showed they took customer feedback seriously. After those initial issues, the rest of our meal was excellent. The food quality was great, and the service for the remainder of the visit was attentive, friendly, and exactly what I had hoped for when coming to Haidilao. Nobody gets everything right every time. What matters to me is how a business responds when something goes wrong. In this case, they listened instead of arguing, took responsibility instead of making excuses, and made a sincere effort to make things right. Because of that attitude, I'm happy to update my review to 5 stars. I truly hope the improvements we discussed become part of the experience for every future customer, because that's the Haidilao reputation people come here expecting.
First time being at Haidilao or any Haidilao location. They had a kiosk station outside to announce wait times and reservation list. Signing up was easy enough and would prompt a text when the table was ready so we got a moment to walk around until then. It didn't leave much time for walking because we were alerted right away. Checking in after that was a little chaotic. Staff seemed overwhelmed and didn't know what to do with us because they were attending to a customer at their gift shop. We were told to sit in the waiting area which was pleasant enough. There were free snacks and beverages. There are board games inside and outdoor games outside. I've never seen an establishment do this and that's a plus for me. Hospitality is the best quality I look for in establishments like this. They have a variety of soup bases to choose from and a sauce bar for an extra charge. We went with herbal, tom yum and mushroom. All were good, but tom yum was our fave. The three noodle set all had unique flavors. One especially tasted citrusy and was a welcome delight! The lamb was sliced thin like all meats and cooks quickly. All are à la cart so can be pricey. It at least caters to everyone's tastes and preferences. We also ordered tea and I noticed that it was over steeped. After mentioning it, they brewed a brand new tea for me! I could tell with first sip immediately. Even though we didn't order much, we left stuffed that night. Thank you!!
This place was a lot of fun! We had a great time and the hot pot was also good. Service was great throughout our entire meal and the inside is futuristic looking. It can be a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. The dancing noodle was entertaining and the worker was great.
We were excited that this place is finally open and wanted to try it to compare it with other Haidilao locations we've been to. The wait was maybe 5-10 minutes when we came on a Friday just before 7pm. We were in the waiting area after we received a text message then we're led to our table. It was super busy and the everything looked clean. We ordered what we have tried before at other locations like the Tom Yum broth and Mushroom broth as well as USDA Prime Ribeye, Kobe Beef Belly, Assorted Mushroom Combo, Sweet Potato Vermicelli, Mixed Vegetable Platter, and the 8-second Bean Curd Skin. They charged for the sauce bar so might as well utilize it. When we received our food, the Tom Yum broth and the Mushroom broth just didn't have the same flavor as other locations which was disappointing to us. In fact, everything else we ate was just okay to us and definitely not the same experience we had at other locations. They also don't participate in giving you freebies/toys if you say certain "secret" phrases to them like "Do I look like a kid to you?" or "I'm a little fairy". Our waiter looked at me funny then knew what I was talking about and said it's only California locations that do that which I thought it was all locations. Anyways, we thought this place was just okay and I'm sure there's room for improvement; however, it definitely wasn't worth the money to us.
I had a very pleasant visit with the family celebrating a birthday. From the moment we walked in to we had arrived at our room, we were treated at VIPs. We were informed about the restrooms and the sauce station (extra charge) ahead of time. Due to the birthday, our room was decorated. What a lovely thoughtful gesture. The ordering iPad was easy to use. The food usually arrived within 15-20 minutes. There's always a water jug available to refill our cups. Tip: order 4 bases for the pot. All of the ingredients are so fresh . You'll have more variety and will enjoy your experience even more. P.s. the restroom has mouth wash!! Special shout out to Mike the host and our server, Kee Ho, for their exceptional service!

Wow wow wow! This service here is phenomenal. This was my first time here and I will admit I was a little surprised that you do have to pay by the dish and it was rather expensive. Unfortunately, there was not an all you can eat option. So I was here with my Mom and the staff were incredible and so nice to us. They gave us complementary tea and they gave us complementary food and they give us a complimentary dancing noodle show. The food was also very good. The vegetables were fresh. The seafood is delicious and the meats were very delicious as well. The sauce bar wasn't bad at all. I was a little surprised that it's not as large of a sauce bar I'm used to when it comes to hot pot, but it was still very good and had the essentials of what I like for my dipping sauce when it comes to hot pot. They did have dessert they had popping pearls and rainbow, jelly, and clear jelly, which was very good. And they also had ice cream, which was also very good. The staff were very good about giving us water. There were pitchers on the side of the table and even though we could've poured our own water the staff often beat us to pouring the water. The staff often checked on us as well to make sure everything was OK. I was really surprised, but please that they give you a complementary hair tie. I do have long hair so that was very good that they gave us a complementary hair tie. I am so enthusiastic about the dancing noodle show. That was complementary and it was by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen at hot pot. A guy came out with a noodle dough ball and basically they have to stretch it. That's traditional noodle making and he liked play with it and like whipped it around the air and it was amazing and I was so thrilled. I definitely would come back here. I really enjoyed my time here. The service was amazing and the food was amazing. However, just do the price alone unfortunately I wouldn't make this a very consistent thing. More like a special occasion, but I really did love this place and I would definitely come back. The ambience is pretty good too. It's very open concept I would say and it's very good for like group gatherings as well. read more

Heads up though -- their All You Can Eat option counts as a promotion, so if you have a voucher, it won't apply on top of AYCE. Just something to keep in mind before you go. Otherwise, the food itself is good and worth trying. read more

Make sure to wear something warm or bring a blanket, it gets very cold inside. The food is delicious and the service is fast. The dancing noodle performance is super entertaining and definitely a highlight. Just keep in mind that everything is a la carte, so the bill can add up quickly. This was my first haidilau experience and it did not disappoint. The place was clean, service was great and food was good. We came for a very late lunch sunday and were seated right away. We signed up for an account to earn points and our server very helpfully explained that it is cheaper if we order the 4 soup pot with two water bases. It was a great idea as the two of us didnt not eat that much. We had the miso and also tom yum broth. We ordered fish tofu, beef, instant noodle, bok choy, and shrimp paste with fish roe. Next time, i would do just the shrimp paste without roe because once you put it in the pot, all the roe falls off. Our server also did not charge us for the self serve sides/sauce/dessert bar even though we tried a couple things from there. The mushroom salad, tofu noodle salad and the tofu dessert were all over good. read more

We're really enjoying our time here. The restaurant is so nice and clean. The waiters are so polite and friendly. The food is so good and super fresh. Our favorite is Tom Yum and the wagyu .We're definitely coming back for sure and highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Had reservations for a Friday evening. A couple weeks ago, the wait times were crazy. We only had to wait a couple minutes this time. Interior was clean with modern styling. Tables were set up nicely for maximum hot pot enjoyment. Ordering items are done from a tablet and plenty of options are available. We went a bit overboard and selected 3 broths and too many other additions to list. Broths came out quickly and the additions shortly after. All items were of good quality and quite fresh. Added points for their presentation as well. They have a small free meal for little ones fyi. Of course we had to have the noodle dance show. The kids enjoyed it lol. Sauce bar was located in the back and was impressive with their available choices. Definitely made some tasty mixes. FYI there's a free ice cream machine on your way out so don't forget to hit that up. Great service and great hot pot experience. Will be back soon. read more

Haidilao has officially entered Mekong Plaza and, frankly, it understood the assignment. As a mom, I was immediately won over by the free kids' meals... which are not only complimentary but shockingly cute. Nothing says "we value families" like feeding my children without charging me an extra limb. Now let's talk soup. The tom yum broth is the real main character here--bold, comforting, and just spicy enough to remind you you're alive. Pro tip: this place is an excellent value if you know how to order. My first visit was a little "hot pot deer in headlights," but after a couple rounds, it all clicked. Long story short: come hungry, bring your kids, or don't. Soup season is in full effect and this is the place to go! It was our first time here & our waiter explained everything really well. First you choose your broths then meats & veggies. We opted for the unlimited seasoning bar which was an additional charge per person. We really enjoyed this meal and will definitely be back soon! read more

Arizona doesn't have a lot of high quality hotpot places so I was so happy when Haidilao opened here. It is a little pricier and not all you can eat but the service and extras they give you make it worth it. The broth is the best here out of all Arizona hotpot places, the tom yum is one of my favorite. The service is excellent even though you do a lot of it yourself, such as ordering and cooking. Definitely will be here again and again. Also the wait time is kinda crazy so definitely make reservations :) read more
Was able to check in online late on Tuesday. There were like 17 parties ahead of me and I think it took like maybe an hour before getting a text. This Haidilao is pretty consistent with the other ones i've been to. I think we spent about $55/person w a party of 4. Ordered a decent amount of food and sides. Glad to have it here :) read more
Never thought I'd see the day where Hao Di Lao opens in AZ since we're pretty behind in everything for a few decades. I've been to a few in California so I understand the expectations of waiting a long time. Their reservations online are closed due to the high traffic so in-person is the only method. I waited about 2 and half hours which isn't really all that surprising tbh (Cupertino is the same). The menu is limited in offerings so maybe go in a few weeks or a month because it's pretty basic options as of now. Id steer clear of wagyu since it's better to sear than to boil that kind of meat lol. read more

My first time to Haidilao and it was amazing! We visited on Saturday around 2 PM and it was packed! We quickly got on the waitlist and walked around local shops for 30 minutes. Before we sat, we were offered water and snacks. I always talk about restaurants needing to predict guests needs before they ask and Haidilao did exactly that- water, snacks, napkins, chopsticks, hair ties, mouthwash, mints, and aprons what more could you need? The food was phenomenal... I don't know why I've never been to the OC location. My favorite broth was the Pork Bone which was aromatic and flavorful, my boyfriend like the Tomyum (i think that was the name). Very herbaceous and gingery! Our server was helpful in making recommendations and was extremely attentive to our needs. We will 100% be back! Thank you for the great care and attention that went into the opening! read more

Wow ! Cool ambience, food, great service factored into this 5 star review. It's spendy but treat yourself to this hotpot restaurant where you order the broth and the protein from the tablet on the table. There is a dancing noodle where a server dances to music while your noodles are stretched and played for your entertainment. We ordered the pork stomach, miso, tom yum and spicy pork bone broth to cook our angus beef short slices. Beware the broth is boiling hot. We also ordered a small plate of bok choy and cabbage and other vegetables. That cost $12.99. There is a salad/seasoning bar that is an extra $7.98 . The dessert bar which had grass jelly, coconut jelly and some dried pineapples was complimentary per my receipt. Without the salad bar which had seaweed salad and buckwheat noodles, I'd still be hungry. They also had oranges and apples. It was a spectacular dinner. You are gifted with a small bag of cookies per visitor when you leave. Excellent and attentive service. The server refilled one of our broths. We took home the broth/soup bases because there was so much and it was so good. I'll make extra meals out of them. I'll take out of town guests here or for special occasions. The decor is gold and modern. There was complimentary mouthwash and toothpicks in the bathroom. I'm not so intimidated by hotpot restaurants anymore. Splendid dinner. read more

We stumbled upon this place after visiting Miniso for my 4-year old next door. Everything was delicious and everyone was so nice! My daughter was brought out a special kids plate (with fries, fruit, and a panda bao bun) for free and they gave her a toy fan to help her cool down the soup. We were blown away by how thoughtful and kind they were with the kids. Dancing noodles were so fun and some of the best tom ka soup we've ever had. A little pricey but such a great overall experience, worth it! We will be back! read more

Hai Di Lao is delicious as always. The broth is so flavorful and the rest of the food is delicious. I love that they're always introducing new items. However what makes me keep coming back is their service. Bella has been my server multiple times and she's absolutely amazing. Kind, funny, attentive, knowledgeable and somehow she always remembers her customers. 10 out of 10 with her every time. Definitely recommend coming. read more

If you are in the mood for Hot pot, this is the place. Great food (Ala carte) high quilty meat and veggies. Don't forget the sauce/dessert bar. The service is amazing, very friendly, funny, and informative. The ambiance is like a high-end Asaian restaurant, and very clean. read more

We had read the reviews and were prepared for a great experience. We appreciated being greeted outside the restaurant and told to expect a 15-30 minute wait. Unfortunately there were a number of people smoking in the entry patio area, so we wandered to a nearby store to wait. We didn't get offered the opportunity to wait indoors. When we were seated, the excellent service began. We opted to try 4 different broths (warning - the 4-chili warning should be taken seriously!). Love the aprons, and the choices for broths. We didn't realize beforehand that everything was ala carte, including the sauce bar. On the positive side, you can control the price point. On the other hand, you might not want to pay $70 for Wagyu to put in a hot pot. We tried 2 meat options lamb and ribeye), 1 mixed veggie bowl and 1 noodle option and ran up $120 tab (no beverages). We did get a small discount for joining the loyalty club. The experience was fine quality, but not something we will do on a regular basis. I was a bit disappointed in the dessert options. Haidilao is always good! I came here back in December the same day I found out I was pregnant and it was so delicious. Just recently moved to Chandler and was craving asian food, me and my hubby decided to come here randomly remembering the cute reminder. Food was great and the server was nice, I think his name was Joshua! As I was leaving a lady told me she had a gift for me and I thought it was the normal baggies but then she put a rattle in the bag for my pregnant belly My hormonal self thought it was so sweet, I appreciated the small but thoughtful gesture read more

The food there is quite pricey. For two people, it was $139 including tip. It's just a fancy hot pot place. I don't really see what makes it different from other hot pot restaurants, except that it has a sauce bar that I have to pay for. read more
