I have been going to Ricardo's for a decade. He runs a friendly, non-pretentious but good quality hair salon. He tries hard for his customers and always makes me feel comfortable. I usually come in for hair color and Brazilian straightening and he does a good job on both. He has been in business forever when other salons come and go. I am writing this post for 4 reasons and I thought hard about if I should even post this. 1. I will be parking in the same lot because I will be going to Planet Fitness often. I don't plan to be pushed around by any individual and deserve to feel safe. 2. Hopefully he was just having a bad day but if this is who he really is when he is not trying to impress people (found out he might be the owner based on remembering how he looks and pictures shared by the business) I think knowing is better than not knowing, even if he does great hair based on reviews. 3. It really didn't need to go the way it did, he didn't need to escalate or be negative. This was a public lot for all the businesses. I was law abiding and so was my car but apparently I was "making trouble". Plus if I told him I wasn't leaving, this whole interaction wouldn't have even happened. He would have just parked elsewhere. 4. It is not okay for you to even imply a threat, you should be held accountable. He didn't say "Someone" could have, he said "I". This incident wasn't scary but it was very unpleasant. Seriously where do people get the audacity? This all happened after I finished at the gym Saturday 08/23/25 around 9:45am and I noticed my car was wet from rain that already stopped. I took a rag out and went to start wiping at the front right of my car. A driver pulled up behind my car "Are you leaving?" "Yes but not soon, I am wiping down my car" "Really? Why don't you just go to the car wash? You don't need to do that here, just move your car to a different spot" Like he couldn't park at a different spot? There were still plenty of spots nearby. I was trying to beat the sun from leaving watermarks so I put my head down and kept wiping. A bit later "Can you just move? I have things to take into the Salon right in front of you." I looked at him, turned to see the salon with a lady at the door watching quietly and resumed wiping. "You know it's people like you that get in trouble." "So I'm breaking the law? You gonna get the police involved? Since you think I'm making trouble." I was more than half done wiping and so over interacting with this person. A bit later, he does end up parking somewhere and heads to the salon stopping at the right front of my car with a drink and what looked like a paper bag of food. I am at this time on the left front of my car. "Let me tell you something, you... I interrupted him "you don't need to tell me anything, I am not interested in listening to anything you have to say" "You know what? I could have thrown my drink at your car and you would have gotten in trouble." "I would have? For you assaulting me? Hah" He enters the salon. Later, he must have heard me turn my car on when I finished because next thing I knew the curtains moved and I saw him look through. I hope you could understand my frustration, when pulling out, no more than 4 spaces to the left against the same sidewalk there was an empty space. read more

Ricardo cut my hair for over a decade, I would consider myself a loyal customer, would tip him 30% for my 15 minute haircut and no blowout. Few years ago I needed a last minute appointment cuz was flying to NY for very important event and Ricardo, my hairdresser of over a decade couldn't give me a last minute 15 minute haircut and told me I need to make an appointment! Greg does my hair from now on. He has done such an exceptional job. I have thick African American hair that is also mixed with Philipino thick somewhat straight hair. Nonetheless I have gone to several hair places that have taken advantage of the challenge of my hair. Not Greg. He provides excellent customer service and comes with the straight no frizz and color that I want and gets me out within a reasonable time. We have been looking for someone that really knows young men hair style with curly hair. Keep in mind that I have very straight hair and my son's hair just grew in all directions with tight curls. My stylist was Adriana she greeted me promptly, asked what I was looking for and proceeded very quickly. I honestly don't know. When I went it took me a while to get seated but I understand since I was a walk in. Once I was seated I got my hair washed and it's always my favorite part. But to when the styling came it was so harsh and difficult I almost had to hold my tears back. I forgot who was my stylist but they ripped some of my hairs off in like a circle using a styling device and after the service my hair felt so burnt and damaged. I seriously had a patch on the back of my head ripped off and it felt like an undercut I disliked it very much. I decided to give this place a try since my usual hairstylist was closed and I don't think I'll be coming back. The vibe was also so creepy and off as if they were some weird cheap salon. Although everyone has different experiences and probably some might have this place as their number one I don't. The Hispanic lady in a blue cocktail dress was able to take me right away, I forgot her name since she has a accent, maybe Myrna?? I showed her the style that I wanted, she is very knowledgeable the whole time and asked me how short I want my hair, so she won't go too short without your permission. Best salon I've ever been to!! I've had my dreads for a little over 6 months. It was originally a DIY project, and looked like it. Finally got up the courage to go to a professional, and wow am I impressed!! He and his assistant worked hard to tighten and defrizz the disaster, and have to say I feel more confident than ever! They both kept telling me that I did a fabulous job for having created them myself, and never once judged the horrible condition of my hair. Very reasonably priced $85 even though it was probably twice the work they had expected, requires 2 people, and I told them their work was worth so much more!
