I booked a consultation appointment with Ajsa on 4/26/22 to discuss applying tape in extensions that I bought on Amazon (they were great quality) and I told her that I wear my hair up and back a lot. She quoted me a price of $450 - $500 to apply (other salons charge about $150 per hour for tape ins). She also told me that these would only last 1-2 months and would damage my hair. She told me that she could install Keratin extensions that would last 7-8 months and be less damaging to my natural hair, she quoted me a price of $1000. After I left, I reconsidered and called back the next day and came to pick out the color of my extensions. She then said it would now be $1200 which included a color correction and cut to blend the extensions with my natural hair. I paid $300 for the hair and she told me that she hoped the hair would arrive in time for my appt. because it was shipped from Italy. I later found out the distribution center for SoCal extensions is in NY state. After having the extensions installed on 5/12/22 I tried to put my hair up and back in my usual style, but all of the very big keratin "tabs" were very visible and looked horrible if I put it up because the extensions were placed way too close to my actual hair line. After a few weeks I noticed that at the top of each Keratin bond my hair was burnt off and there were only a few strands of my own natural hair supporting the extension. When I sent pictures to Ajsa regarding this issue she said she needed to see it in person. I went to the salon and she said she had never seen anything like this and denied all responsibility and actually said I must have done something to my hair (I followed the instructions to a T), and she actually said "your hair is growing over the extension", well that's not how hair grows after it is burnt off. I used to be a hair stylist and I know what burnt hair looks like. After that, I went to 3 different hair salons with VERY experienced stylist that had over 10-25 years experience in extensions. They all agreed that my extensions were very poorly done. Not only the placement but I had heat/burn damage done due to the heating element touching my hair above the keratin bond or the heating element being extremely hotter than needed and left on way too long. The keratin bonds were way to big for the amount of my own hair used and they should have been shaped into small cylinders not a large flat globs of keratin. After going to the other salons to get consultations on my extensions, I did text them and requested a $500.00 refund, which they gave me without argument. But I feel I shouldn't have had to do all of that if she just owned up to her mistake after seeing my damaged hair. Update: Today 7/12/22, I just spent $125 to have the extensions professionally removed because I was having headaches, along with pain in back of my head, and the extensions were literally pulling my hair out at the roots. (See pics of balding spots). My new stylist showed me that I have red irritation on the back of my head and if I didn't remove them I could have had more tension balding. The keratin bonds were so hard and bulky that they had to soak them in a remover for 30 mins. before they would come out. And, yes I told them they were SoCal extensions so they had the proper remover. I have loss 40 - 50% of the my natural hair on the back and sides of my head due to her inexperience. read more

I only get my hair cut every 3 years or so. I have crazy curly hair and I don't trust just anyone with my hair. I was referred here by another curly hair girlfriend, she understands the struggle. I made a 1030am with Latif. I arrived early and the Salon is easy to find, it's wide open and spacious. It could use some tidying up. First impressions are a must! Turns out the entire staff are family and they are all super friendly. Mom washed my hair and she was so nice. Now to the cut, LATIF IS AMAZING! Seriously. He explained everything he was doing and why. In a little under an hour, I had healthy and bouncy curls again. I was in love. Latif is a true artist and I am so happy I was referred to him. I need a keratin treatment and I'll be coming back here to see his brother to get rid of my frizz! read more

The absolute WORST. they just ruined my hair and had the nerve to charge me $150. This goes back to 2005 or 2006. I still have the pictures. I will post them here if I can find them. I actually made a claim with my credit card company to fight the charge as they would not give me my money back. They left the foils in at least 30 minutes longer than they should have even after I kept asking for them to look and to make sure that my hair wasn't getting died or burned. Of course it was terrible in the end I ended up making a big scene there and had to go to another hairstylist down the street for them to correct the situation in the end it ends up costing me a handful and an emotional horrible nightmare stay. STAY AWAY. 10/4/18.....and then the new owners have the nerve to say that I have no right to post something because it's over 10 years old. Screw you. You f***** up my hair and I had to pay another hairdresser and extremely large amount of money to correct your freaking stupid mistakes. If you got things right from the beginning we wouldn't be having this conversation. The difference between them (unhappy consumers) and me is that I actually speak up for what is right..... the whole situation was so wrong ...to this day I remember and I will forever drive past your place and remind people.. The service was great and he was so friendly. Made me feel comfortable the whole time as he explained how I should properly treat my hair and make it look nice. I didn't feel welcomed at this establishment. I was not greeted when I first walked in nor acknowledged. I asked if I needed an appointment, the receptionist asked what I wanted. I said long layers. He then turned to the female standing next to him at the counter and asked it it was too late. 5:30 PM- Yelp has their close time at 6:30 PM. She said yes. I wasn't asking for a wash or die job and thought an hour was more than enough time for the cut. Found this salon here on yelp because I was tired of the hit or miss I get at the mall. It was my first time there but they didn't disappoint. Everyone was very friendly and I felt so welcomed! I loved the family atmosphere with the classy interior design! Even though I was coming in last minute (half hour until close) they weren't upset or annoyed and stayed after to finish my hair. You should probably never tell a stylist you've never worked with before to surprise you but this was a gamble for the better. I love my hairstyle! It's so cute and fits me perfectly! So first I'm going to start by saying that I'm new to the Middletown area so finding a good stylist for me is so important because of past experiences. I went in to see Ajsa on a Tuesday for an extensions consultation and she had me in for an appointment on Friday. My fiancé comes home from is deployment Sunday so it truly was a rush for me, but she managed to order and pick up the extensions I wanted. Because it was so short notice I was surprise at how willing she was. Now Friday was a very long day I have short hair so the process was soooo long but I'd do it again in a heart beat!!! I had to bring my son because there was no school and they welcomed me and him with open arms. Ajsa was so knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I was there for 9 or so hours so we got to know each other well actually I could probably rate every stylist there lol. Her brothers were amazing at what they do and the entire family were so nice and helpful! Even the clients made the day better. And at the end of the day with everyone gone and the shop closed she was still there making sure my hair was perfect and it was! The color the style and the extensions were all beautiful! I have finally found my salon and I'm so excited about it! I can't wait to see how my fiancé reacts!! And thank you to the whole family for a fun day! The first time I was there I got a full head of highlights and lowlights and a haircut it was a little pricey but Latif did and amazing job and it looked great the last time was awful I was there for over two hours just got a half head of highlights and a cut he didn't even dry it and he charged me the same as the first time and it looks awful way to blond it isn't blended at all I definitely wouldn't recommend this place it's way to expensive to be so inconsistent read more

My first experience was a sad one. Latif was busy talking to lots of his friends who came in , about doing some minor celebrities hair later on and left me sitting alone on the chair so many times, that one of the girls in the back had to finish me out of pity.
