I've never written a review that wasn't about food but I just had post this after my experience today with Kim! To preface, I got my hair done earlier today at a different salon, and hated how my hair came out. I don't get my hair cut often, so I was really looking forward to today, and was severely disappointed after. It was frustrating even looking into a mirror. So impulsively, I called and she was able to squeeze me in later today. To sum up the experience, it really feels like Kim cares about your hair! I had reference pictures for styles I liked, and she took the time to explain to me exactly what she would do, suggestions to adjust it to my face, and the part of love the most, how I could maintain the style afterwards! Most importantly, the procedure didn't feel rushed at all. She took her time to inspect my hair, and with each minor adjustment, I could see how big of a difference it made to the overall blend, volume, and look. She pointed out attributes about my hair I never knew and taught me techniques I would have never considered before. It speaks volumes on how experienced she is with styling hair to suit you. Not only did I get a fabulous hair cut from this visit, but I'm more excited than ever to use what I learned for years to come. I have never complained about hair service before, but here we go.. I had a keratin treatment and it was useless after 5 days. I am experience with keratin , Brazilian and even the organic smoothing treatments. All of them depending on the product line have had different efficacy. However this was a giant waste of money. Where do I begin?! Spectacular! That's all I can say! First and foremost Lisa is everything you want you in a hairdresser. She is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, charismatic, friendly, the opposite of fake and best of all a brilliant stylist! She can cut hair beautifully, made my Brazilian blowout stunning and even taught me how to style my hair step by step and willingly. I've never had a stylist do this before! P.s. she used a Brazilian keratin for those of you wondering which Brazilian product she used. Also i came here for Groupon and she didn't even blink an eye (I've noticed sometimes when you mention Groupon automatically their personality changes and they treat you like lower class citizens and give you half the service) but not Lisa! Just make sure to pay her the Groupon price instead of Groupon so it's easiest and cheaper for everyone! Plus she honors the same price everytime no matter how mangy times you've come! The salon itself is a little hard to find, it's located in the mother's market shopping center but the inside is perfect! Nice, trendy, clean, beautiful decor, comfy salon chairs. Love this salon!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming for my first visit! I came for a hair cut and keratin treatment. Making a reservation was very easy and I was seen right away even on a busy Saturday. Shane did my keratin treatment and he was really good. He spent a lot of time making sure all my hair got the treatment evenly. Before I knew it we were done and I was ready for my hair cut! His mom did my hair cut and she was just as friendly! She was very knowledgeable about what layering and trim would be best for me. The final outcome looked great! The shop was also having a sale on all their hair care products so I purchased a special conditioner meant to preserve the keratin treatment. I didn't even know a product like that was available! First of all, great location in the heart of Costa Mesa. Parking is no problem and it is easy to find. Secondly, I had been thinking of going fully blonde (I have dark brown Asian hair) for a while and finally decided to make my move. I made an appointment with LISA, who is very professional and definitely knew what she was talking about. I was frightened that because I had Asian hair that my hair would turn orange, but Lisa reassured me that she specializes in Asian/Mexican hair, and in addition showed me her instagram page. She was able to get me from brown to blonde in two short sessions!!!!! I thought i would have needed at LEAST 3-4, but she did it in 2!!!!!! I love my blonde hair and I'm happy that I finally have a stylist who knows what she is doing to very Asian hair. I highly recommend making an appointment with Lisa ASAP! :) read more

I wish I could give 0 or - Star to this salon because I can't even describe the amount of rudeness and unprofessional service that they treat their customers with!!! I wish I read the previous reviews before I went there! So last week I went for a simple trim and bangs haircut, they assigned Danielle to take care of me. First, Danielle messed up my bangs she cut it too short that there was no go back to fix it (of course after I showed her a TON of pictures of what I was expecting) she CLEARLY never cut bangs before because she made it sooo thick and left me with a bulk of hair in my forehead looking like I literally just did it myself. After I told her that this is not what I asked for she just froze and didn't know what to do next, then she asked another hairstylist at the salon to come fix the mess!! The other person reduced the bulk on the bangs and looked fine-ish... (less ugly than before). Then Danielle came back to trim my hair and quickly styled it with a curler, it looked good and I was still so focused on the bangs at that time. Two days later, after straightening my hair I notice that the front right side of my hair is waaaaaaaaay to short that the left side it was SO OBVIOUS!! (Look at the picture) I was so upset because it was only a damn simple straight trim AND she couldn't do it!!!! I mean... this girl should literally go back to school! I went back to the salon, I showed my hair to the manager/owner (such a ridiculous person) and she tried to convince me that she would fix my hair, I told her that I don't want my hair to be cut anymore and I'd just wait for my hair to grow again and go somewhere else to fix it, so obviously I asked for a refund because now I'm stuck with this mess in my hair! She said no refund and she can only cut my hair or I get nothing, I told her that after this experience I don't trust this salon anymore and I don't want my hair to be cut... THEN GUESS WHAT!!??? She told me to get out of the salon!!!!!! I mean seriously that's how you treat your customers and fix your mistakes??? This salon is a joke! This is the WORST hair salon ever! Terrible customer service and unskilled hairstylists. Don't waste your money and YOUR HAIR ladies! Wow... For a while now I would always look at my teeth in the mirror and always feel like they aren't white enough. I've been using whitening strips but it would only do so much. Once I heard of Lorrie's whitening treatment I was inclined to try it to get whiter teeth. I do not regret this decision once so over. Lorrie is the sweetest lady ever! I really enjoyed talking with her and felt super comfortable with her. I was so excited to get my hair extensions and have full and voluminous hair..but sadly I am so disappointed in my extensions. She put in two rows and used less than half of my bundle when I brought in 3. I left the salon feeling like I wanted it out immediately. My hair is so noticeably unblended that I had to add in clip ins to help blend my hair. I love her method of beading the wefts. They are comfortable. She said it would "bloom" out soon and not seem so flat, and I know she noticed the flaws. Today I felt pretty fortunate finding Lisa as my hair colorist. I had gone awhile without dyeing my hair but I finally caved in wanting to change it again. I figured I'd try out balayage since I thought it looked pretty on other people. I looked on Groupon to find a deal and there was quite a few near places by me that offered one. All the other hairdressers either did not answer me, they texted me back one word replies, and maybe because I told them I had found their Groupon? I guess some hairdressers think clients trying to save money are evil. Lol. But that's okay because soon after I sent Lisa a message she quickly replied, booked me an early appointment that fit around my busy schedule, and that was the friendliest first impression I got. She was even friendlier in person. I was a slightly late and I wasn't even frowned upon. I like how I wasn't on my phone the whole time or just awkward silence. She's very easy to talk to. WARNING!!! I don't know how to put this...the owner of the salon, Lorrie, is one of the worst hair stylists and human beings I have ever experienced. I went in from a groupon ad for a blowout treatment. She asked me to do it off of groupon in order to get paid more from the service. She convinced me not to do the Brazilian and to do a keratin, (even though I wanted a smooth look) only Bc she ran out of the product. When she put it in there was barely any product in my hair it felt completely dry. Also she gave me a cut. After following her instructions, my hair was just as curly and frizzy as before. Also, my haircut was completely crooked and a hole chopped in the back. I went to another salon to fix it. I called the owner and after her arguing that she has certificates in keratin and knows everything about it, not believing that my hair didn't work the way she advertised, she said these to me after I told her I would give her a honest review: "you are fat and miserable" and she hung up on me!!! Then she texted me this: "You don't scare me you're just a miserable young girl you will never be happy with anybody cause you're not happy with yourself and I'm blocking your number" What a horrible person. Kim was my stylist and if you want to be judged for everything you do wrong beauty-wise, they will definitely let you know it!!! I went in for some bronde highlights and a trim. The color doesn't look terrible but my 1.5 inch trim was more of a CUT --- she took off about 3 inches from the bottom and 5 inches in layers --- wahhhh. Also beware if you buy the Groupon for highlights, toner is an additional FORTY $40 dollars. Is that terrible Groupon advertising or what? (I can't even complain to Groupon & get some of my money back because the business told me they'd honor the Groupon price so I paid out of pocket). OH and if you get your eyebrows lightened to match your hair that's an additional $20 --- for TINY little eyebrows. Being judged + being ripped off + crying about your haircut = Go someplace else!!!! read more

My experience at this salon was ok. Nothing fantastic and nothing too troublesome. I actually would give them 5 stars for customer service but only 2 or 3 stars for the way my hair came out. I ended up having to spend a lot of time (like 4 hours) there because the color didn't come out right the first time and had to be redone. The second time I thought it looked much better but my hair was severely damaged by the process. I have been trying to deep condition and get my hair back to the place it was before I came in, but it is taking a while. Bottom line: I would probably give this salon another chance.
