Although I live down in Pikesville, it is ever so much worth the drive! Julie is excellent, as are the others there, and always made my hair and me feel "You are beautiful." I've been losing my hair rather rapidly over the past couple of years, and she works hard to cut and color it so as to minimize that dreaded look. Her cuts and color are superb and from what I've observed of the other (long-time) stylists, they also do a great job. It is such a friendly salon, Julie is a sweetheart, and it makes going a pleasure. Julie just redecorated and it is more comfortable and prettier than ever. Try them; you'll like them!

After…read morebeing offered a natural hair press and trim package for $80, her stylist failed to trim my hair for whatever reason and, 2 1/2 hrs later asked if I needed my hair trimmed. I told her, at this point I have no time to stay because of prior engagements. I was not informed until my hair was done that this was my stylist's first day. Therefore she was still in training. My curls fell flat and frizzy the next morning. I sent pictures and expressed to the business owner, Ayana, that I am willing to pay for a trim but I need my hair complimentary curled. Ayana constantly disregarded the fact that her stylist failed to trim my hair and blamed me for not correcting her stylist. As a customer I should not have to check the stylist during her every move. Ayana knew exactly what services I needed that day and failed to check her own stylist who really needed to be checked because it was her first day. ***************************************** In response to your comment: As you can see Ayana, no one would wish this style on anyone. I never refused a trim. I had no time after 2 1/2 hours to stay and get my hair trimmed which was the agreement in the beginning. My job as a customer is to sit and look pretty as my stylist makes my hair flawless. Your job is to check your stylists to see if they are completing the job they were assigned to do. I don't blame Ebony, I blame you for not knowing what was going on in your salon one seat over from your chair. You offered me a $45 dollar trim package (wash, trim, and style) via email after I complained. Then told me over the phone that you don't do complimentary styles. My question Ayana is, "Who offers a $45 trim package to a customer who just got her hair washed?" I just need a trim and re style. You know that. Plus if you always had this $45 trim package that included everything I needed, why would you offer me a natural hair press for $65 and a $15 trim? Sounds like a scam to me. I offered to pay $15 for the trim which was what you told me the price was the day I came in, however you told me that you never sell services in isolation. Therefore, I would have to pay for the $45 package. You sound ridiculous and I don't have to prove it with my words, I'm using yours. "Most would have reminded/clarified that they indeed wanted their hair cut prior to completion." Well I hate to tell you that I'm not everyone. Never was I interrupted during my texting and asked if I still needed a trim. ***************************************** Update from your response: My picture represents the reason why you should accept my payment of my trim only and add a complimentary curl and style. You have already gone back and forth with me. A simple apology would have sufficed. I know you won't respond after this post. Hopefully your future customers will receive the correct styles excellence service that you are working on.

I got some pictures of what I was aiming for and yelped the highest rated hair salon near me and found 1535 Hair Salon. I saw Gerrie (Beatrice) celebrated twice so I requested her. She was able to fit me in the same day! I emphasized that I wanted the front of my hair long and the back short. Gerrie listened to me and said we would start with the back and would check in as we went to see if I wanted shorter. It was great that she was listening and would work with me! Gerrie did have quite a few interruptions as people talked to her, a popular lady. Gerrie talked nonstop and told me stories about her friends. I saw Gerrie wrapping my hair around so my Bob would be symmetrical. For the most part it was except the very front. Which I can fix later if it still bothers me. My hair looks much better then it did all in all. Thank you!

When I arrived, she immediately began applying a chemical to my hair without informing me or getting consent. When I asked what it was, she told me it was hair dye--something I did not request or book. My clip-ins were natural black, yet my own hair was dyed a light brown without permission. During the wash, her assistant handled my hair very roughly, and I am certain a neutralizing shampoo was not used, as my hair smelled strongly of chemicals for days afterward. Since the service, my hair has been falling out, my curls are permanently straightened, and the hair around the nape of my neck is now gone. I reached out privately to ask what products were used and to request a partial refund for the dye service I never asked for. Unfortunately, I received no solution. My hair is now severely damaged, and I deeply regret this experience. Based on what happened to me, I would not recommend this stylist to anyone with natural hair or to anyone who does not want unapproved chemical services performed on them.
