    I had a great time dining here with my friends. The food was very delicious and the apps were great for sharing. I honestly don't think you'd be disappointed with anything we ordered. The restaurant was pretty busy, but the the tables were spaced out so it wasn't very loud. The staff were friendly too. Great experience and I would definitely recommend you giving them a try.

    What a gem. This is better than the midtown location that closed down. Mostunabe - hotpot with beef intestines. I normally don't eat this stuff but it was delicious. 5/5. Coming back! Crab lettuce fried rice 4.5/5 Tonsoku 5/5!!!! Tantan mazemen - meh. 3.5/5

    Food is always amazing! Of course my favorite is their signature Motsu nabe but other dishes like soup dumplings, uni scallops and foie gras inari are so delicious too! The servers are very attentive and I really like the chill vibe in here! Oh, don't forget to leave some space for delicious homemade desserts!

    I have been coming to hakata ton ton for years, and locations have changed many times. When the Korean hospitality group ran this place in ktown, I hated it, it was so bad and portion was pathetic Now they are in Chinatown, I think it's a little better. Some of my old time fav are gone, I like the beef tongue and the almond tofu still( there are very small amount of protein in the ton ton pot, lots of unnecessary tofu. I hope this is the last time they will move and transfer ownership. People just want the authentic ton ton pot.

    We ordered the Japanese hotpot (port feet). It was very well balanced flavor, a bit spicy. I would've ordered more but my friend was not too hungry. They have limited drink option only sale, beer and wine. Not very busy on a Thursday night. Service was very good.

    Made last minute reservations and came with 2 other people on a friday evening 945pm. They just switched to their fall/winter menu which the current menu online doesnt reflect. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and a hotpot for 2 with rice shime. Citrus salmon: it was good. Probably my favorite thing out of evwrything we tried. Salmon was fresh, had some fish eggs, some crunchy pellet things, scallions. Everything together in 1 bite was flavorful. Tebasaki- it was ok! Nothing special i can really comment on or remember. Grilled hamachi- it was ok Grilled motsu- it was ok. Probably my 2nd/3rd favorite appetizer ive tried. The intestines itself are a bit bland, but tastes good with the spicy cod roe. Goma hamachi- it was a bit too much dressing. The server mixed the whole thing for us. The dressing completely overpowered the fish. The seaweed was soggy. I think it wouldve tasted better if the seaweed couldve acted more like a mini wrap and less dressing. Kara tonton hot pot- Ive personally never really liked spicy hotpot, but my companion wanted it so we ordered it. The soup was a bit thin/watery compared to another japanese hotpot place that i love which has thicker collagen rich soup. It was spicy but not devastatingly so. Would i order this again? Probably not. I would rather try their original soup. Overall, i enjoyed the variety of the menu. They have a wide enough menu and the food was decent enough for me to want to come back and try other things.

    So good! Genuinely couldn't stop eating. Came in during a Sunday evening--virtually empty, so it was actually very calming and chill. Very comforting and flavorful food. The Koji's Ebi Chili is so simple yet so addicting. Extremely enthusiastic and welcoming host. Set up my first experience there really well.

    Came here for a very early dinner. Ordered the beef wraps and the tantanmen. Food was great! Service was really fast and we wrapped up within the our. There's ample seating inside with a semi dark ambiance which is nice. Would come back again if i'm in the area.

    Seating is spacious compared to their previous Penn station location. The apps and tonton still consistently good and the servers were attentive. If you order the tonton, it's worth paying to add the noodles.

    This restaurant has a lot of dishes made with innards so for someone who doesn't like innards like me, my options are kinda limited. The ton ton hotpot is pretty good and savory. It's very different from anything I've had before in a good way. I also enjoyed the fried rice! The service was very good.

    I went to this unique Japanese restaurant a little while ago. They used to be in the West Village before moving to Koreatown (on 35th street) before they closed as well and a while ago, they opened here in Chinatown. As per the name and their logo, they specialize in pork dishes with a bunch of dishes featuring their signature tonsoku or pig feet. While not as glamorous or as large as their old space, they converted the old Cha Kee/Mission Chinese pop-up location nicely and the service was friendly. I have in general had better versions of several of the dishes, but overall we had a very good meal. The first thing that arrived was probably my favorite bite of the night which was the Goma Hamachi for $20 with baby yellowtail with scallion, seaweed, and sesame sauce which is poured table side. The hamachi was excellent quality being buttery with a soft texture and the nutty sesame sauce (said goma) worked nicely with it. This was excellent and I would recommend it heavily. Also very tasty was the Kani Harumaki for $14 with a blend of snow crab, pork, mushroom, and vegetables served with spring roll skin which came with a light soy based dipping sauce. There was a bit of sweetness, a bit of earthiness, and some richness and it all fit well with the crispy skin. This was very good as well and was decently portioned for the price point. Also very tasty was the Wagyu Yakiniku Wrap for $18 with BBQ washu beef with lettuce, pickled vegetables, and mayo wrapped in a scallion pancake. This was perhaps a bit messy due to the mayo as well as the sweet sauce especially when paired with the slightly oily pancake but the flavor was excellent. The beef quality was high and it had some sweetness to it but not too much so and the pickled vegetables added a nice crunch. The Tonsoku Ponzu for $13 with grilled pork feet with scallion and ponzu sauce is one of their signatures that you can't really find in many other Japanese spots. The dish of course has a lot of collagen so it's rich and fatty but the ponzu helps cut down the richness of the pork. There was also a Japanese hot sauce on the table which helped as well. This was also good though I would recommend more compared to other small plates to share. The Kara Age for $9 consisting of Japanese fried chicken with mala mayo was pretty standard outside of the price point being relatively cheaper for the portion size compared to most other places. The chicken was pretty tender though I have had much crispier versions before but I can't complain with the light batter and the amount of chicken given. Though the color was different, the mayo also didn't exactly have any type of mala seasoning either but it still worked with the chicken. The Koji Ebi Chili for $20 consisting of shrimp with sweet chili over egg omelette was pretty standard western Japanese/Yoshoku style comfort food. There was plenty of shrimp/ebi in there and the sweet chili was standard. I wish the egg was a bit fluffier but that is only a minor fault in an otherwise standard tasty dish. Last was our large main to share which was the Tonton Hotpot which is $68 for the large or $38 for the small and we got the large one which was large and fine. This came with pork feet, chicken thigh, pork belly, dumplings, tofu, vegetables, and your choice of soup where we got the spicy miso tonsoku soup. The primary meat in there was the tonsoku/pork feet with there being some thigh and a little bit of dumplings and pork belly. Outside of the size which is easily big enough for four people as it should be for the price point, it's hard not to compare it unfavorably to some other nabe spots such as Kimura or even some other recent ones such the izakaya Toriya on the LES which both had much better broths, a little more variety in terms of vegetables, and was not focused on one meat in particular. Possibly the motsu/intestine pot is better here but I would recommend sticking with their other dishes instead. The meal overall was very tasty. I wouldn't recommend the nabe/hot pot but the rest of the dishes overall were good quality with a couple definite highlights.

We ordered both the standard pork XLB and my faves, the pork and crab ones, as well as pan fried pork dumplings which I was surprised to discover were also full of soup, chicken corn dumplings, and two noodle dishes: rice cake with pork & mustard greens, and pan fried noodles with beef. Servers were conscientious about allergies and very specific about letting us know which items were which, but other than that were largely appropriately hands off. They did ask us, mid-meal, if it would be ok if a service dog were at the next table to ours, which I thought was courteous. (The service dog was adorable and well behaved.) All the food was fab, which we expected. It's nice to come in a group and be able to order more items for a greater variety. The rookies executed well (and thanked us for the instructions on how to eat XLB to avoid getting soup everywhere) and were pleasantly surprised by my longtime favorite, the rice cake and mustard greens. I'll need to remember that the pan fried pork dumplings also have soup, because I really liked the texture of them. Such good food, and as always, better shared with friends.
