I love how smooth their milk tea is. Perfect portions of tea powder and pearls. 10/10 would recommend

Shanghai Dim Sum House is a great little spot tucked away on the third floor of Crystal Mall's food…read morecourt. The food court itself is full of different Asian cuisines, and this stall definitely stands out. They offer a wide variety of Shanghai-style dim sum, including dumplings, wontons, rice cake, several meat noodle soups, and some combo rice dishes. I ordered the Sichuan Style beef noodle soup, and it was surprisingly delicious and spicy -- the broth was flavorful, and the beef was incredibly tender. Even though it's just a small food court stall, the quality of the dishes makes it worth a visit. If you're already exploring Crystal Mall or craving some quick and tasty Shanghai-style snacks, this place is a solid choice.

One of the must visit stalls for me in this food court. Highly recommend…read more I always get the #14 Shanghai Style Deep-Fried Pork Buns (5 pieces). Freshly made on the spot. Big size and very delicious. I'd ask for extra dipping sauce (or the chill oil if you like spicy). These can get messy if you don't be careful. Take a small bite of the skin first and sip the soup inside before diving in. The soup is very hot, so I usually pour it onto a spoon and drink it from there. #13 is translated as "Steamed Mini Pork Buns" in English and Shanghai Xiaolongbao in Chinese on the menu, which is misleading. When I ordered it last time, it turned out to be the same buns as #14, just steamed instead of deep-fried. They're large and not mini at all like traditional XLB. Personally, I didn't enjoy them as much as the fried version and wouldn't order them again. They tend to stick together and aren't very to-go friendly. #14 is the star here, and it's absolutely worth coming back for.

This was honestly was one of the best places I've eaten at in the PNW. Decided to go here on a…read morefamily vacation as it was close to where were staying and we were all wowed by the service in the food quality and portion sizes. The food portions are ginormous and many of their dishes are shareable. We ordered the Gado Gado, Laksa, Hainanese Chicken, Satay, Pork Belly, Calamari, etc. If you're ever in Vancouver Metro this is a place worth frequenting and it is a place I go to every time I visit from Seattle.

I was lucky to get a table around 7pm on a Friday with minimal wait, as the restaurant was always quite busy. We ordered a bunch of items to share. We got the Hainan chicken (side order) which was soft and tender. The ginger scallion sauce was really flavourful and didn't overpower the taste of the chicken. As a carb dish, we ordered the "char bee noon" which I don't usually get/see at other SEA-style restaurants. Really liked this one and I like how they can adjust the salt level because usually their sauce can be quite salty. For other sides, we got the roti canai, which was as expected. The one dish that we saw every table getting was the crispy smoked pork belly (some tables even ordered 2!!), so we definitely had to try it. It was a newer taste for me; it had the taste of cha siu, but the skin was really crispy like it was siu yuk. Really good!! The vinegar-based dip acted nicely to cut out the rich and fattiness of the pork belly. Definitely a good dish to pair with something light, like Hainan rice. Service was great and food came out in a timely manner. Would be back for sure when I'm in Burnaby!

Wow, this place is a GEM, I am so in love with the Rolls, I visited 2 days in a row, had to get…read moresome more rolls in before we leave BC, which was so sad! Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
