Hakuyosha is so conveniently located, great service, and reasonable pricing. I picked up exactly a week later and my items were ready and packaged SO nicely! My last cleaning service would usually wrap our comforters in butcher paper which was fine with me so I was so pleasantly surprised by the "professional" packaging that was used! Dropped off two coats last Thursday, was told that i could pick up this past tuesday. I show up and they said it's not ready so they'll call me back. I never got a call. I've had to call them several times when they said they'll give me a call. I come back to the store day and they told me that my coats got sent to the hotels and that they're trying to find it. I am outraged. They said I can file a claim with receipts if the coats are over $100. Who the heck has all the receipts to the clothes that they buy?! I better get my coats back. This place is shockingly expensive. They wanted over $30 to dry clean one pair of pants and one shirt. It takes one week to get the clothes back, and if you want sooner, it costs more. Also, they do not offer starch for shirts. read more

Unbelievably disappointing. Took my husband's Burberry coat in preparation for travel. Took in in on a Tues and they said I'd have to pay for express service to have it done by Friday. I'm so used to cleaners that have next day turn around. But that was fine. What wasn't ok was that when I arrived Friday, it looked the same as I dropped it off. The lady was apologetic and said she'd send it through again to be done by Monday morning. Meanwhile, we had to purchase a coat last minute for my husbands trip the following morning. So here I am, picking up and again, coat is dirty. Seriously? Looks like they didn't even send it through once, much less twice. Had the cleaners across the marina still been in service, that's where I'd have gone. She even made me pay the express service fee when they couldn't deliver on time. Then she said I have to contact main office if I wanted a credit for my complaint. Why I had to pay a penny is beyond me. Not timely, no attention to detail, no service rendered for charge. If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. No repeat business here. Would rather drive to town. Distance isn't a convenience when you have to return twice and services are unsatisfactory. read more

All I want from a dry cleaning place is to make sure my clothes are CLEAN afterwards, and Hakuyosha Clean Living located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center next to Safeway and Hana Sushi has done a fine job. I brought an old coat that had a layer of dirt and coat of mustiness with a hint of filth. The lady at the counter was very nice and friendly. And yes, their loyalty program is behind the times - they can track your order by your name or phone number but you still need to have a silly stamp card and present it for redemption when you bring in your clothes, not when you pick it up. Despite any negatives, sending items out to Hakuyosha has allowed me to prioritize what is most important - giving my parents a quality lifestyle in their remaining years. I have been a customer to Hakuyosha Clean Living at the Hawaii Kai location for 10 years and will not be going back again . I picked up my laundry today and told Caren who has been working at this location for as long as I have been coming that my shirt is still wrinkled . Caren goes on telling me to go somewhere else if I am not happy with their service as they are the only dry cleaning/ laundry service here in the area. Their quality has been declining over the years . Please do not come here it's not worth paying for your stress and wrinkled shirt. read more

Avoid. Dropped off 7 dress shirts. Picked up after 5 days. Charged $70 for launder and press?!?! Nearly zero starch and double creases. Apparently they charged me for a rush order? Not to mention one of my shirts had a lipstick stain! The rush order was never mentioned to me. Will not be going back. read more

We had a white jacket with some sweat marks and foundation on it put in to be cleaned along with 2 other marks which were pointed out when dropping off. We picked it up the following day and the stains were still there, it had not been pressed and a tag on the hanger said they unable to get the stains out. We needed this jacket for a ball the night we picked it up and were told that the marks would not be a problem. Needless to say that after the ball, I spent ten minutes working on the stains and washed it in the washing machine and all the stains are gone. The manager told me these stains were unable to removed hence the note, she also told me that make up foundation would not come out of the jacket, obviously she must have a lot of experience with laundry, probably still lives at home with mom and dad. The bottom line is do not use this service if you don't have to. read more

My mom needed 2 quilts washed - they didn't fit in her stacked washer/ dryer so she thought she could just have them washed at the local cleaners. I dropped the quilts off to be washed on a Monday. They said it wasn't going to be ready until Saturday. Ok. Seems like a long time just to have 2 quilts washed. I confirmed that it was just a wash & dry. I should have asked how much it would cost. I left to go back to mainland and my mom picked up the 2 quilts today. It was $30 bucks a piece to be washed!!! She could have purchased 2 new quilts at that price. My mom, who is on a fixed income, called me crying. She was in shock- she didn't realize that it would be that expensive to wash and dry 2 quilts. I called the store to confirm the cost and the clerk said "well, you are paying Hawaii prices". I asked why the prices weren't posted. I was told that there were too many "variables". I then called the headquarters and received a call back. But no resolution. We certainly won't recommend this business- too expensive for the services rendered. read more

I had this Harley Davidson suede jacket from the early 1993. As time went by it accumulated unwanted mold looking things on it. And I was going to throw it away...which it cost like $500ish dollars back then. So I went on to yelp to see my options of cleaners that was around. I decided to go with Hakuyosha in Hawaii Kai and I'm so greatful that I did. They were honest with me and explained the outcome, that it might not get as cleaned as I wanted it due to the damage it had. And they gave me an estimated price as well. And that it would take several months. I picked it up today and oh let me tell you it looks almost brand new!!!! And the ladies, Letty & Karen was so extremely friendly as well as displaying awesome customer service. I would highly recommend this store because they are truly Awesome!!! I struggled with this review. The prices are steeeeep. But I haven't found a place on Oahu where dry cleaning is not super pricey, so maybe it's the market rate. The store is bright and welcoming and does not LOOK like a dry cleaners from a distance. Staff are helpful and polite. But the most important thing is quality and they really delivered in this area. My dresses and blazer came back spotless, wrinkle free and without a strong chemical odor. It was $45 for three pieces, but I asked for a rush job on two of them. Because of the price here and at other cleaners, I will continue to clean and press anything that can be machine washed on delicate or hand washed. (I hate it when people don't want to do their own cooking or laundry and then moan and gripe that someone else won't do it for them for a pittance.) But for those special items that absolutely have to be dry cleaned, I will trust Hakuyosha. read more

I took in 3 items for cleaning and was very surprised by how expensive they were (over $30 for the 3 regular items) and how slow they were (5 days plus). But I thought as I am new to the area and this store is very convenient, it would give them a chance. Their store portrays a quality image - I don't mind paying if it really is a quality service. When I picked up the items, 2 were ok but 1 pair of pants came back with more marks than they went in with. So we sent them back for re cleaning, when they came back the marks were still there but they had bleached the area around it. These pants were part of a suit so they asked me to bring in the jacket to try and fade the entire suite to cover the bleaching. That didn't work. Each time the items came back, they just tried handing them to me without checking despite their being problems - I learn my lesson on that one to check each time after the first time they gave me the pants, went home with them and had to go back again. Finally when they could do nothing more, I requested to put in a claim and of course there is always a form that requires effort by the customer despite their poor service. An on the form is a notation that they require a receipt if the item is over $100. These pants were part of a suit so they were over $100, and I no longer have the receipt. I went in on weekends and the person serving me was very helpful but was obviously embarrassed because the manager was meant to ring me to discuss the problem but didn't.
