During my shopping at TJMaxx, I had a hankering urge to eat some fried chicken, so google search I went! I found this place near by, so I was excited to try it out. I read the Yelp reviews and saw it had 4 stars, so I drove over to the spot. I despise parking in this shopping center, there is never parking close by, you have to park far away and walk there. I ordered their 4 piece chicken with fries. It comes with a drumstick, thigh, breast, and wing. I added a cole slaw as an extra side item. This meal was shared with another person, this order was to go cause I live close by. When I got home I couldn't wait to start chowing down, I was Hangry! After taking my first few bites of the chicken, I found this meal was an utter disappointment. The batter was hard, not crispy! My daughter complained it was too hard to eat the skin. That was the best part to all fried chicken, the skin!!! I felt it was over fried and each piece of chicken was not consistent. The thigh and drumstick was overcooked and very dry, not moist. The breast on the other hand was moist, but the batter was hard. After eating the other pieces of chicken, we gave up and did not eat the wing piece. Key note! Don't dump hot fried chicken on top of fries, it creates sogging and mushy fries, it should be in a separate container. The add on cole slaw was flavorless, I added the ranch dressing to it, so I could give it more flavor. Service was nice and friendly , the price was right, but they need to work on consistently and timing of their chicken. read more

Chicken was so juicy! So flavorful and absolutely delicious. My husband and I ate way more than we had planned! The flavor was just perfect! Highly recommend. I suggest doing take out. I gave 4 stars because service wasn't that great, and the fountain dispensers were really sticky and gross. read more

Typical fried chicken establishment. I ordered the 1/2 regular and 1/2 spicy 16 piece fried chicken bucket. The chicken had good flavor and the meat was tender. However, the spicy fried chicken was not spicy, which was somewhat disappointing. If you prefer, light breading, then this is perfect for you. The bucket meal comes with 4 sides. I elected for the Mac and cheese and curly fries. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese due to lack of flavor. I had to add salt and pepper. The curly fries were good; however, it was soggy by the time I returned home with my take out order. read more

Wow! Their fried chicken is so good! Flavorful and very tasty! Large pieces! Good price and a plentiful of food! Went during Covid pandemic. During this time, all employees had face masks & gloves. Ahhhh HFC a staple of Natomas. Flavorful chicken with some great spice to it. (Be careful of the late night runs - the seasoning bowl gets a little too much salt at the end. The spicy bbq chicken sandwich is a mainstay for me eith an extra onion ring. Warning though the macaroni salad is disgusting - mayonnaise for days - i do not count it for this review though. Go for the standard fries. Side note grab the chicken sandwich then grab a Mango Lassi right next door from Shalimars- your taste buds will thank me later. read more

I would give them 10 stars if I could. They were our favorite place in Rancho Cordova before they had to move. We are so excited they are open again! We made the drive out and everything was so delicious. We miss them in Rancho so badly. I got a lettuce wrapped spicy chicken burger with fries, my husband got the same but with a bun, and my daughters got chicken tenders with fries and a side of Mac and cheese. We thought we would have left overs but my daughters ate every last bite. Their Mac and cheese was also one of the only things I could keep down while pregnant with my twins so they will always and forever be a favorite. If you haven't tried them out, you should! I've been on a chicken sandwich kick lately and decided to try this place. It's going to be a HARD NO for me on their chicken sandwich. I'm pretty sure I just ordered wrong since everyone is raving about the fried chicken. I just want ya'll to know about the chicken sandwich. Verdict = Not good. It tasted worse than fast food. The best thing I can say about this place is that our kids loved their burgers and fries ... and all three kids polished off their meals. That speaks volumes to the quality of the food here. My wife and I shared the four piece fried chicken combo and upgraded to the garlic fries ... total win! Other good things: reasonable prices, quick service, clean bathroom, and lots of parking! I was in the mood for fried chicken but wanted to try something different. The 2pc breast and leg meal was the perfect combination of crunchy and juicy. The chicken was fresh out the fryer and was still piping hot when I got home 15 minutes later. You have the option to choose your own side and I opted for French fries because they're my favorite side. All of this for under $10. The service is good, but that is absolutely about it! I ordered enough food to feed six people and I will tell you we threw away enough food to feed six people. Let me begin with the disgusting macaroni and cheese. I swear they use powdered cheese with noodles prepackaged grated cheese on top and microwaved it real quickly in the Styrofoam container. Tasted like fake and it was fake. The chicken was absolutely 100% dried out. It was more like chicken jerky. We had strips, wings, tough waffles just all bad. Well actually we also had a salad with balsamic and it was fresh. So there's the one star. I hate to waste money on food but this is absolutely terrible. Maybe they had a visiting cook who over fried everything. I would think twice about ever coming here again. read more

We were craving fried chicken, yesterday for dinner, and looked up what was closest to us. Halal fried chicken did NOT disappoint! The fried chicken was AMAZING! We ordered the 8 piece - wings & legs only and it was cooked to perfection with great seasoning too. We also ordered two of the chicken tenders with fries and to our surprise, the chicken tenders were HUGE lol. Definitely not a bad thing though! We'll be back again very soon! read more

Food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's fabulous and other times, don't want to eat it at all. Price is HIGH (no choice due to it being halal). Rather take it to go than dine-in. Interaction between staff is just when you order and when the food is ready. Seems they rush off other times to avoid customer service. read more

Tried this spot for the first time and it was great! Definitely coming back! They offer online ordering and they had my food hot and ready with big welcoming smiles at the counter when I walked in. I got the 3 piece chicken meal. The coleslaw was delicious, with crisp cabbage and not soggy, and perfect balance of Mayo without being too creamy. The chicken was amazingly crisp on the outside and super tender and juicy in the inside, perfectly seasoned as well. Definitely try it! read more

Chicken is very good, sides leave a little more to be desired in both size and price. I've ordered take out twice- both times an 8 piece bucket plus 2 sides. The friend chicken is very moist and flavorful. I have a feeling the sides are store bought. Price isn't bad. I appreciate the packing- despite being fried and ordered to go, the chicken was still hot and crispy when I was able to eat it. read more

Holy crap this has got to be one of the best fried chicken places in Sac! The chicken is fried to order and it's so crispy, hot, tasty, and moist! I want to cry from how amazing this chicken was. I just want more! Shame with covid restrictions that I couldn't experience this chicken fresh out of the fryer, the chicken is so hot that the to-go bag condensates so much. But the chicken still remained crisp after a 15 minute journey back home. read more

I am a picky fried chicken fan and this was the best experience I've had in a while. It was even a Door Dash order and maintained the crispiness throughout the journey to my home. I've been going to this restaurant since 3 years ago, I've been a big fan ever since then. I am very glad they moved locations from Rancho Cordova to Natomas! It is closer to me and it's in a better location. However, it is a lot smaller than the previous location and it's very hard to get good seating outdoors since we are still in a pandemic and have to be six feet apart. But, their food is always delicious! Try their chicken strips! You won't be disappointed, and the owner is a kind man. He always says hi and make sure everything's perfect. read more

The waffle was hot and crispy but lacked flavor (maybe add a squeeze of lemon juice to the batter with a few tablespoons of sugar?). Staff was friendly... could spend more time on detailed cleaning (fingerprints on chairs, dust on top of tabletop dispenser, trash full in bathroom... maybe I'm just nitpicky though). I hate that the place was empty; seems too good a place to be so far away from main streets that are accessible to everyone (those without cars). We ordered half original & half spicy 8 piece chicken bucket with 2 sides. Upgraded it for the mac & cheese & curly fries. Chicken was light, juicy, and just the way we like our fried chicken. However, the curly fries were soggy but I think it's bc there wasn't any holes in the box. So, we went home and re/-fried lol! If you've been to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles then you will have a new Chicken and Waffles spot in Natomas. Halal Fried Chicken makes the waffles crispy and tasteful and the chicken is too. It is on par with Roscoe's. Their sides are great as well. We had the garlic French fries, they're great if you like garlic and like fries. Their battered onion rings, fried crispy and flavorful. Their coleslaw has good flavor and isn't drowned in sauce (mayonnaise). The employees are friendly and accommodating. They have outdoor seating as well as inside seating. Inside felt a little cramped but will do in extreme weather. Our experience was great, a three out of three! Definitely going back! read more

Worst customer service ever, employee's don't know what they are doing or how to work the system, they can't do a simple thing as canceling order after telling me certain options are not available that I have clicked on. This place easily beats chicken n waffles when it come to getting a speedy chicken sandwich for around $12. It is about $2 cheaper, you get it 30 minute faster, and the taste is very decent. The sand which itself taste very good, the patty is seasoned perfectly, not to heavy or to light. The bun is high quality and the burger comes with onion rings. The fries themselves are probably out of a restaurant depot bag so nothing to write about there. All in all prob the best halal fried chicken spot in sac. They lose 1 star for being disorganized. If you ordered online, go to the end of the counter and bypass all the morons who take 25 minutes to order. They actually have another register there but no one tells you this. I waited an extra 30 minutes in line because 3 dingleberries took forever and kept changing their order. I had placed mine over the phone. read more

This is one of the best fried chicken places in greater sacramento region. Hands down! Chicken is of top quality (as you'd expect from Halal meat) and the owner told me that he lived in Louisiana for 15 Years and learnt a lot of his cooking/techniques from there. This explains the unique flavors and taste that the halal fried chicken brings in its food. I would recommend to get spicy chicken bucket. Trust me, you would LOVE it! If you are nearby, you should definitely give this place a try! I am SO glad they moved closer with this new branch. I tried their burgers too...and they were really good as well. Best fried chicken in the area! Super Fresh ! Everything is made to order. The french fries are so addictive!Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I will say the prices are on the higher side, but for a big sporting event, I think it's well worth it. The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd made the experience even more fun, and the service was exceptional. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, our food came out quickly, and our server checked on us frequently throughout the game. We were third in line for the reservation queue, so we expected that arriving early would help us get decent seating. Instead, we were assigned seats on the open patio directly in the blazing sun. The patio umbrellas weren't working, making the seating area unbearably hot on a warm afternoon. We politely asked if we could be moved to another table, but the staff was unwilling to accommodate us. When general admission opened, we even offered to give up our reserved seats and move into the general admission section instead. Despite there being an opportunity to make that happen, our request was again denied. After only 15-20 minutes, we had no choice but to leave because the conditions were simply unbearable. Paying in advance, arriving early, and still receiving the worst seats--with no willingness to help find a reasonable solution--made for a very frustrating experience. Customer service is about solving problems when they arise. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, and it left us with a very poor impression of Tom's Bar. We missed a good part of the World Cup Finals which was the main purpose of going there. Costed us in fee and parking and lots of unnecessary anxiety!

You're a hot chicken joint. Why are you charging for spice? That's ridiculous when it's already $16 for sando and fries.
