The chicken was packed with flavor, and the waffles were the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I ordered the dark meat with a side of greens, and both were delicious. We also tried the mac & cheese balls, which were a great appetizer and definitely worth ordering. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent. One thing you absolutely can't skip is their house-made hot sauce--it was fire and paired perfectly with the meal. If I'm ever back in Sacramento, I'll definitely be stopping by again. It came with a side of French fries or onion rings and was $20 to go which seems expensive. The onion rings were superb and crispy. The chicken is a thin breast and comes with onion and tomato slices, lettuce and a watery, spicy sauce. its been 6 years since my last review. We started coming here in 2018 when we moved to Natomas and I used to come very regularly but was disappointed over the years so its probably been at least 2 years since I have been back. As expected, prices have increased greatly. The fried chicken sandwich that was 10.99 is now $16.99! That is a 60% increase! We stopped by today for lunch and ordered it to go. The inside looked better inside than I remembered so they must have remodeled. The gal at the front gave VERY good customer service and very efficient especially being the only one up front who was the waitress and the cashier. I hate it when people take their sweet time moving. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. They no longer have the potato salad as a side so I got regular fries. Hubs ordered 6 wings and a side of garlic parmesan fries along with banana pudding. Our order came to $49. My sandwich was good and filling. Fries weren't bad either. They were not overcooked. Hub enjoyed his although I felt it was pricey $14.99 for just 6 wings. The wings were crispy but small. Overall my appetite was satisfied but my pocketbook was hurtin' and the only ding. Most of the entrees will be avg $20. I do like their vast selection and really interested in trying the shrimp grits. I've never been to a mainly chicken n waffles restaurant before. I've had chicken n waffles elsewhere at other diners. I ordered Samson's Magic, which has the golden waffle, choice of two pieces of chicken, choice of eggs, and grits. I also got the banana pudding for dessert (their recommendation). The "golden" waffle wasn't really golden, but it was delicious. Thankfully, it wasn't a soft waffle either. I chose the breast and wing for my two pieces. I didn't realize I was getting a bone-in breast, but that was alright with me. The waitress suggested I try the house special hot sauce if was into a bit of spice. It paired well with the eggs and chicken. Eggs are always eggs. Idk how someone would fail at eggs. The grits were interesting. One of the waitresses told me she didn't care for grits when I asked what they were like. She did mention that she ate hers with some sugar. I ordered this meal anyway, which comes with grits to try it myself. It was pretty decent by itself. I added some syrup to the grits afterwards. It still tasted great, so no complaints there. Last was the banana pudding. The recommended dessert was spot on. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit strange how it was served in a plastic cup rather than a ceramic cup. It was presented on a plate with a napkin, spoon, and some powdered sugar, which was nice. When the host/hostess says it will take around 10 minutes, add another five. I was in a reasonable rush to check out a gold mining museum in Auburn. I wolfed down everything on my place when I got the food. The food was great for a comforting southern experience. Execution time could have been a bit quicker or told more accurately. PS... I still made it to the gold mining museum with plenty of time left and found two golden flakes. read more

The app doesn't let you choose bacon or sausage; so I assumed it would come with whatever is in the photo they used, which happens to be bacon. What I received was undercooked sausage that was slimy and soggy. And a few bites of potatoes that were not hasbrowns? Not sure why it would come with that and no heads up whatsoever.
