I've found my new go-to halal spot. I had just returned from the west coast and was craving some chicken and rice. The usual carts I went to were closed and so I decided to check out this place. Best chicken and rice I've had and it comes with side salad and fries for the same price as what you would pay at the carts. Absolutely Amazing Falafel Platter. All the places I've been to the falafel is a bit hard. But their falafel tasted FRESH and soft. I wish I took a pic of it, couldn't stop to take a photo! Their white sauce was also on point!!! So was the hot sauce, not too spicy but I can tell it was fresh. I love halal food and I am a vegetarian so it's been hard finding the perfect falafel spot. I got this for lunch 3 days in a row. I ordered the chicken over rice on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It looks like they season their rice unlike other restaurants which gives it a good taste. Their chicken tastes pretty good, they could add a little more chicken. Their white sauce is good but a tad more yougerty than I'm used to. Be careful with their hot sauce, it's not for amateurs (which is typical with halal food hot sauce) I like the added sides to their platter, most places give you a piece of pita... Halal Munchies gives you a choice of fries, salad, or hummus. They are flexible with their sides so you can get double fries if you wish. Delivery all three days was prompt. Ordered takeout through Yelp (grubhub fulfilled) received order confirmation from yelp but never a confirmation from the restaurant. Contacted yelp to ask when I should go pickup. They told me 60-70 mins was the original timeframe. They asked if I received my email from the restaurant, to which I said no. I am so dissatisfied with the food which went from being somewhat ok to now being very salty and nasty, and not to mention the order out pickup service, it is atrocious. I order to pickup and the guy pn the phone would always tell me ten minutes whenever I asked how long it is going to take, and I will ask him are you sure? And he would assure me that it is going to be ten minutes. But it is never ten minutes as they would skyways say. I remember ordering from them to pickup. I was approximately 30minutes away from the store, when I consider some stoppage time on my way to pick up the food from them. And when I finsl got to them the food was still not ready for pickup I must have waited for an additional ten to twelve minutes. I told the person who took the order that this is ridiculous. I didn't call in my order to come and wait for it , but I called ahead of time so that I can come and pick it up. I believe this is the last time I will be eating from them, and I sure will not recommend them to absolu anyone. Why? Because their foods is nasty and very salty, and the service is very lousy and you will spend a ridiculously long time waiting for your fast food if you're hungry or on a schedule. read more
