I usually get mine without the boba, but I was pleased with the friendly service. Because they recently opened, there's still some improvements needed to be done. When I got my ice milk, I could tell that they didn't put enough of the caramel flavoring in my drink. Because of this, when I mixed it, it didn't taste like the usual drink that I usually tasted from the other Half and Half locations. However, because this place is new, I do have high hopes that this place will deliver drinks that is up to par with the quality and taste one would expect from Half and Half. This is a pretty small shop that can be found in the same plaza as Aldi and CVS. I ordered an iced milk drink with caramel, honey boba, and grass jelly. Although the order was right on the receipt, I noticed they had given me egg pudding instead of grass jelly so just a heads up and make sure your drink is right before you leave. The order taker was very kind and repeated my order and my drink came out pretty fast. I felt like my drink had the perfect amount of sweetness for my liking. Their business practice is dishonest and misleading to the customers. When you visit, try and find on the menu how much their drinks cost. That's right; you can't, because there is no price anywhere in the store! The only way for you to find out is to go and place your order at the register. I can't think of any restaurants or boba places that do not tell their customers how much their items cost until they order them. Of course, you can then say you don't want to drink anymore at the register after finding out their ridiculous price, but it definitely adds pressure on the customer to complete the transaction at that point. This goes into my next point, which is the "promotion" they are currently running, which in reality it's just to hide their recent price increase. At the time of writing, they are running a fall promotion that offers you a free large-size upgrade + a free topping of your choice (except boba). Like me, you must be thinking wow, that's a pretty good deal. I ordered a large milk tea with lychee jelly, and the receipt comes out to $6.98 before tax! I almost spit my jelly out, thinking that they must've forgotten to apply for the promotion. Turns out, they have increased their base price to $6.98 FOR A REGULAR SIZE DRINK WITH NO TOPPINGS! They are simply using this promotion to make you think you're getting good value while increasing their prices. After this promotion is over, you'll either be paying close to $10 for a single drink if you get a large drink with boba. Wasn't very impressed on my visits here recently. The tea drinks have some leave residues on bottom and most time it causes my throat to itch and cough incessantly. I usually get my drinks with mini boba and QQ boba - it used to be amazing toppings. But recently the boba have been one big lump of bobas sticking to each other and when you forcefully suck it through the straw you might choke (this stands for both mini boba and QQ boba). The place looked like they were over staffed because a lot of the employees stood around and just socialized with each other. They almost forgot to give one of my drinks and if I didn't remind them, they would've probably not given it to me. The taro milk smoothie just tasted like milk. I normally don't like to write bad reviews since I like to promote positive experiences. However, in this instance the customer service I received was infuriatingly bad at Half and Half in Arcadia. I went into the store trying to combine my frequent buyer' cards (I had three) and buy two drinks. The store manager Lexus refused to combined them since she claimed that one of them is expired (I went there on 3/17 and this expired on 3/1). Note: there was no expiration date on the card. And when I first received the card, I was told that there is no expiration date on these frequent buyer cards! I explained that I live in SF area and I don't come down all that often. But if I do come down to LA, I always go to their store and buy their drinks. And no one has ever warned me about the new policy even after I used it last year! I asked her very politely to honor 6 stamps and still while buying 2 more drinks), and She refused. When I asked her to contact her superior, she again refused. She said "You can write to my corporate and I am not going to do anything about this." I am very upset about the customer service I received. When I am feeling for boba at work, I would always come to this location. Parking is shared with all the other restaurants and stores in the plaza. This location is never packed and even if there is ever a line its always really quick. The staffs are very nice and friendly. My usual go to drink is: Caramel Iced Milk with Pudding and Boba. Half and Half is somewhere I go whenever I'm driving through Arcadia. My favorites are their brown sugar milk tea and today I tried their oolong milk tea and my bf got their milk candy black tea. The oolong milk tea had a decent tea flavor, just a little bit bitter in a way. My bf did not like the milk candy black tea because it was way too sweet and I wasn't a fan either. But, the worker was glad to remake the drink for us which we were very grateful for! The boba was chewy and not too sweet like always! Every now and then I enjoy bringing my lil one here. She loves the slushy drinks. We usually share one. She's only a few years old and so she really only takes a few sips but she loves 'em either way. She likes the mango strawberry smoothie but I think her few other faves include: passion fruit slush, mango slush, strawberry milk smoothie, and every now and then a lychee or rainbow jelly. This is a great little spot and I have to say, once in a while I really like to get boba. And when I do, I usually get it from half and half. They seem to have the best consistency and the right level of thickness and chewiness to what I'm guessing the perfect boba might be. The prices aren't the best and it's easy to add on lots of toppings and things to make the drink even more pricey but it's a treat. I'm sure it'd be about the same price to get a sundae at an ice cream parlor, like the one in Alhambra on Main Street, next door to Wells Fargo. Parking can be tricky but the lot is pretty huge. Whether you want a nice fruity drink or a milk drink, Half n half has got you covered! I have gotten the oolong milk tea, ice milk drink, jasmine milk tea, and rose tea. All are exceptional! I usually get the oolong milk tea because I love oolong. I always get half sugar or a quarter sugar because I prefer my drinks to not be too sweet. Hmm I'm not sure I am becoming the hype debunker here on yelp but Half and Half is just alright to me. I almost always come here out of convenience - like if it's next to a restaurant I'm going to or if it's the closest boba shop nearby - but I would never come out of my way to half and half. It's good, but like basic good. People rave about their pudding boba and sweet drinks but every time I taste those concoctions I feel like I'm on the verge of diabetes or I'm about to do 4 laps around the room because I am quite sensitive to sugar. Also, for milk tea, tea houses, and boba I much prefer the traditional kind that has a very strong tea taste like Ten Ren or Tea Station. Frankly their creations are way too overwhelmingly sweet to me. With that said, if you're looking for more of a Starbucks-y style boba place that is reminiscent of frappicinos and milkshakes - Half and Half is the place for you. But if you like the slow-drip kinda coffee tasting caffeinating goodness I would go to your local Taiwanese brew houses instead. I took a long break from Half and Half and finally came back to it and have been a regular at this particularly location all summer, especially with their free summer upgrade. I have to applaud them in their drink consistency and all around quality drinks. I often request less sugar or less ice in my teas/milk teas at other boba shops, but I never feel the need to do so here. It could be that the ice is more crushed than it is chunky and cubed... Regardless, I'm a happy weekly regular and have also consistently experienced good customer service. If you're looking for a tea house to sit down and chat or get work done, this is not it. It's a very small location with just enough seats for people to sit briefly while waiting for their drinks. There are no tables, so expect to take your drinks to go. I always visit here after grabbing breakfast from the Arcadia mall. I especially enjoy their summer promo where you get a free size upgrade; i'm not sure if they will have it every summer. I have tried their mini-size honey boba before but I personally like the original size more. I like texture more versus intense boba flavors. Sometimes I see rave reviews of Half and Half and wonder what I'm missing, but I've been a few times and think it's just okay. The boba texture is great, a little bit extra chewy but not too much. The milk tea flavor is strong - sweet and you get the bitter hint of tea - but not particularly complex. For some boba places, later in the day I'm pumped for the next time I can go there again. Pro Tip #1: Do NOT get the large. It's not much bigger than the regular and they just pack it with more ice, so essentially you are just paying more for the same amount. Pro Tip #2: If you're not one of those "My drink has to be super icy cold", then just opt for light ice. I have probably hit up every Half & Half in my area- four of them to date. This one is the one I go to most often since it's within walking distance. I like that it closes a little later than some of the other ones but there's no seating available here, so it's just a grab-and-go place. It's super small, so it gets really crowded. I've tried calling my drinks ahead of time before and sometimes they don't even pick up, which is frustrating because it gets claustrophobic in there. My go-to is always the Ice Milk Drink w/caramel and honey boba. Their boba, I swear, is just the best. It's always super fresh and so warm in my icy cold drink, so the contrast is so yummy. I ONLY get boba from Half & Half, nowhere else because I don't even like boba and I never did until I started going to Half & Half seven years ago. They started offering a new add-on, which they call "QQ Balls", which is a chewier jelly alternative to boba with fewer carbs.
